We explore the spectrum of excited and exotic bottomonia using lattice QCD. Highly excited states are identified with masses up to 11,000 MeV, many of which can be grouped into supermultiplets matching those of the quark model while exotic spin--parity--charge-conjugation quantum numbers $J^{PC}=0^{+-},\,1^{-+},\,2^{+-}$ that cannot be formed from $\bar{q}q$ alone are also identified. Single-meson operator constructions are used that have good $J^{PC}$ in the continuum, these are found to overlap well onto heavy quark states with $J\le4$. A continuum $J^{PC}$ is assigned to each level, based on the distribution amongst lattice irreps and dominant operator overlaps. States with a dominant gluonic component are identified and form a hybrid supermultiplet with $J^{PC}=(0,1,2)^{-+},\, 1^{--}$, approximately 1500 MeV above the ground-state $η_b$, similar to previous computations with light, strange and charm quark systems.
We present the first lattice QCD study of up to $3S$ and $2P$ bottomonia at non-zero temperatures. Correlation functions of bottomonia were computed using novel bottomonium operators and a variational technique, within the lattice non-relativistic QCD framework. We analyzed the bottomonium correlation functions based on simple physically-motivated spectral functions. We found evidence of sequential in-medium modifications, in accordance with the sizes of the bottomonium states.
We present highly-excited charmonium, $D_s$ and $D$ meson spectra from dynamical lattice QCD calculations with light quarks corresponding to $M_π \sim 240$ MeV and compare these to previous results with $M_π \sim 400$ MeV. Utilising the distillation framework, large bases of carefully constructed interpolating operators and a variational procedure, we extract and reliably identify the continuum spin of an extensive set of excited mesons. These include states with exotic quantum numbers which, along with a number with non-exotic quantum numbers, we identify as having excited gluonic degrees of …
The QCD string model is employed to evaluate the masses of orbitally and radially excited heavy-light mesons and lightest hybrids in the spectrum of charmonium and bottomonium. The number of parameters of the model is reduced to only seven which are the string tension, the two values of the strong coupling constant (one for heavy-light and $\bar{c}c$ mesons and one for $\bar{b}b$ mesons), and the four overall spectrum shift constants which depend on the quark contents of the particular meson or hybrid family. A few well-established states in the spectrum of heavy-light and heavy-heavy mesons a…
Gluonic excitation of non-exotic hybrid charmonium from lattice QCD
利用猝灭格点量子色动力学研究了具有非奇异量子数$J^{PC}=0^{-+}$、$1^{--}$和$1^{++}$的杂化粲偶素${\bar c} c g$的基态和第一激发态.它们在文献中被完全忽略,只是因为它们的基态与$η_c$,$J/ψ$和$χ_{c1}$简并,并且在实验中很难与这些常规的粲素介子区分开来。然而,我们在第一激发态中观察到了强的胶子径向激发,我们预测它们的质量分别为4.352(225)GeV、4.379(149)GeV和7.315(257)GeV,与相应的常规粲偶素的第一激发态完全不同。它们与最近发现的Y(4260)态的相关性和未来对其他态的实验研究也进行了讨论。
We study the mass splittings of $Q_1q_2\bar{Q}_3\bar{q}_4$ ($Q=c,b$, $q=u,d,s$) tetraquark states with chromomagnetic interactions between their quark components. Assuming that $X(4140)$ is the lowest $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark, we estimate the masses of the other tetraquark states. From the obtained masses and defined measure reflecting effective quark interactions, we find the following assignments for several exotic states: (1) both $X(3860)$ and the newly observed $Z_c(4100)$ seem to be $0^{++}$ $cn\bar{c}\bar{n}$ tetraquarks; (2) $Z_c(4200)$ is probably a $1^{+-}$ $cn\b…
We report on the extraction of an excited spectrum of isoscalar mesons using lattice QCD. Calculations on several lattice volumes are performed with a range of light quark masses corresponding to pion masses down to about 400 MeV. The distillation method enables us to evaluate the required disconnected contributions with high statistical precision for a large number of meson interpolating fields. We find relatively little mixing between light and strange in most JPC channels; one notable exception is the pseudoscalar sector where the approximate SU(3)F octet, singlet structure of the η, η' is …
Some hadrons have the exotic quantum numbers that the traditional $\bar q q$ mesons and $qqq$ baryons can not reach, such as $J^{PC} = 0^{--}/0^{+-}/1^{-+}/2^{+-}/3^{-+}/4^{+-}$, etc. We investigate for the first time the exotic quantum number $J^{PC}=4^{+-}$, and study the fully-strange tetraquark states with such an exotic quantum number. We systematically construct all the diquark-antidiquark interpolating currents, and apply the method of QCD sum rules to calculate both the diagonal and off-diagonal correlation functions. The obtained results are used to construct three mixing currents tha…
Exotic quarkonia are candidates to new types of hadrons including four quarks or gluonic degrees of freedom as constituents, the latter being a unique feature of QCD. We review recent developments in nonrelativistic EFTs to describe exotic quarkonia and in particular recent results on the spectrum of heavy hybrids including spin-dependent contributions up to $1/m_Q^2$-terms in the heavy-quark-mass expansion. We determine the nonperturbative contributions to the matching coefficients of the EFT by fitting our results to lattice-QCD determinations of the charmonium hybrid spectrum and extrapolat…
The lattice QCD simulations of charmonia and exotic charmonium-like states are reviewed. I report on the first exploratory simulation of charmonium resonances above open charm threshold which takes into account the strong decay. The puzzles related to the first-excited scalar charmonia are discussed. Evidence for X(3872) is presented along with investigation of its Fock components. The $Z_c^+(3900)$ seems to emerge from the HALQCD approach as a result of the coupled channel effect $J/ψπ-D\bar D^*$. The indication for the pentaquark bound state $η_c N$ is presented.
Recent lattice QCD results on the hadron spectroscopy with beauty and charm quarks is reviewed. The focus of the review are exotic hadrons, while non-lattice approaches and conventional hadrons are reported as well. We discuss the recently discovered $Ω_c^*$, a charmonium state with spin three, $P_c$ pentaquarks, $B_c(2S)$ and $Λ_b^*$, the long-standing challenges for theory $Z_c$, $Z_b$ and $X(3872)$, and we review predictions for yet undiscovered states $bb\bar q\bar q$, $\bar bb\bar bb$, highly excited and hybrid $\bar bb$, baryons with bottom quarks and still-missing $B_{s}$ mesons.
We present highly excited spectra of charmonium, charm-light and charm-strange mesons using the dynamical anisotropic lattices of the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration. The use of novel techniques has allowed us to extract these spectra with a high degree of statistical precision, while also enabling us to observe states as high as spin-4, states with exotic quantum numbers and candidate gluonic excitations. We discuss the phenomenology of these spectra, and also present preliminary results of Dπ scattering considering only the lowest partial wave in the isospin-3/2 channel.
In this work we study the possible QCD exotic states in the doubly charmed baryon sector. Within chiral effective theory, it is predicted that several excited baryons result from the $S$-wave scattering of ground-state doubly charmed baryons ($Ξ_{cc}^{++}, Ξ_{cc}^{+}, Ω_{cc}^{+}$) and light pseudoscalar mesons ($π, K, η$). The excited doubly charmed baryons can be classified by the strangeness ($S$) and isospin ($I$) quantum numbers. Two of the excited states are clearly exotic, in the sense that they cannot be explained by the conventional baryons with three quarks, since their quantum number…
