We consider the on-shell mass and wave function renormalization constants $Z_m^{\rm OS}$ and $Z_2^{\rm OS}$ up to three-loop order allowing for a second non-zero quark mass. We obtain analytic results in terms of harmonic polylogarithms and iterated integrals with the additional letters $\sqrt{1-τ^2}$ and $\sqrt{1-τ^2}/τ$ which extends the findings from Ref. [1] where only numerical expressions are presented. Furthermore, we provide terms of order ${\cal O}(ε^2)$ and ${\cal O}(ε)$ at two- and three-loop order which are crucial ingrediants for a future four-loop calculation. Compact results for the expansions around the zero-mass, equal-mass and large-mass cases allow for a fast high-precision numerical evaluation.
We determine the three-loop form factor parameterising the amplitude for the production of an off-shell Higgs boson in gluon fusion in QCD with a single massive quark. The result is obtained via a numerical solution of a system of differential equation for the occurring master integrals. The solution is also used to determine the high-energy and threshold expansions of the form factor. Our findings may be used for the evaluation of virtual corrections generated by top-quark and b-quark loops in Higgs boson hadroproduction cross sections at next-to-next-to-leading order.
We follow up on our discussion of the exact quark-mass dependence of the Higgs-gluon form factor at three loops in QCD (arXiv:2001.03008) and turn our attention to the closely related Higgs-photon form factor. Similarly to our previous work, we intend to examine the form factor for the decay of a Higgs-boson with variable mass into two photons at the three-loop level in QCD. The set of master integrals is known numerically due to prior work on the Higgs-gluon form factor and is exploited to obtain expansions around the threshold as well as in the high-energy limit. Our results may be utilised …
In the context of a left-right extension of the standard model of quarks and leptons with the addition of a gauged $U(1)_D$ dark symmetry, it is shown how the electron may obtain a radiative mass in one loop and two Dirac neutrinos obtain masses in three loops.
BPS Wilson loops in supersymmetric gauge theories have been the subjects of active research since they are often amenable to exact computation. So far most of the studies have focused on loops that do not intersect. In this paper, we derive exact results for intersecting 1/8 BPS Wilson loops in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, using a combination of supersymmetric localization and the loop equation in 2d gauge theory. The result is given by a novel matrix-model-like representation which couples multiple contour integrals and a Gaussian matrix model. We evaluate the integral at large N, an…
We investigate the decays $l_i\rightarrow l_j γ$, with $l_i=e,μ,τ$ in a general class of 3-3-1 models with heavy exotic leptons with arbitrary electric charges. We present full and exact analytical results keeping external lepton masses. As a by product, we perform numerical comparisons between exact results and approximate ones where the external lepton masses are neglected. As expected, we found that branching fractions can reach the current experimental limits if mixings and mass differences of the exotic leptons are large enough. We also found unexpectedly that, depending on the parameter …
An analytical expression for the three-loop form factors for $ggH$ and $γγH$ is derived for the contributions which involve massless quark loops. The result is expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms. It fully agrees with previously obtained kinematical expansions, and confirms a recent semi-numerical approximation which extends over the full kinematic range.
The effective potential of massless standard model (SM) is calculated up to three-loop order. The stability of the effective potential and the Higgs boson mass are investigated up to three-loop order. We found that, Higgs boson mass $m_{H}$ of one-loop order is large. The two-loop and three-loop results are not appreciably different from each other. The two-loop and three-loop radiative corrections have led to an improvement of Higgs boson mass and the value of the scalar coupling. For the value $m_{t}=170$ GeV at the energy scale $μ\approx 5.68\times10^2$GeV, we get $m_{H2-loop}\approx 125.4$…
The Weinberg operator allows for the construction of radiative Majorana neutrino masses. In this letter, it will be shown that it is possible to construct a one-loop diagram that will be the principal component of the neutrino mass matrix and that will have an exact mixing matrix with $θ_{13} =0$. The addition of a two-loop diagram, which is naturally suppressed, allows the creation of the correct perturbations that will give a neutrino mixing matrix with entries inside experimental constrains, including the possibility of large CP Dirac phases.
We discuss Majorana neutrino mass generation mechanisms at the two-loop order. After briefly reviewing the systematic classification of one-loop realizations, we then focus on a general two-loop classification scheme which provides a model-independent catalog for neutrino mass models at the two-loop order
We report on recent progress on the flavour non-singlet splitting functions in perturbative QCD. The~exact four-loop (N^3LO) contribution to these functions has been obtained in the planar limit of a large number of colours. Phenomenologically sufficient approximate expressions have been obtained for the parts not exactly known so far. Both cases include results for the four-loop cusp and virtual anomalous dimensions which are relevant well beyond the evolution of non-singlet quark distributions, for which an accuracy of (well) below 1% has now been been reached.
We compute the leading mass corrections to the high-energy behavior of the massive quark vector form factor to three loops in QCD in the double-logarithmic approximation.
I show how to compute the exact one-loop thermal correction to the free energy of a soliton. The method uses the effective potential as an auxiliary step to ensure that the soliton is quantized around the appropriate vacuum. The exact result is then computed using scattering theory techniques, and includes all orders in the derivative expansion. It can be efficiently combined with a calculation of the exact quantum correction to yield the full free energy to one loop. I demonstrate this technique with explicit computations in $ϕ^4$ models, obtaining the free energy for a kink in 1+1 dimensions…
We develop a universal approach to the one-loop effective field theory (EFT) using the Covariant Derivative Expansion (CDE) method. We generalise previous results to include broader classes of UV models, showing how expressions previously obtained assuming degenerate heavy-particle masses can be extended to non-degenerate cases. We apply our method to the general MSSM with non-degenerate stop squarks, illustrating our approach with calculations of the coefficients of dimension-6 operators contributing to the $hgg$ and $hγγ$ couplings, and comparing with exact calculations of one-loop Feynman d…
We consider a lattice formulation of the four dimensional N=1 Wess-Zumino model in terms of the Ginsparg-Wilson relation. This formulation has an exact supersymmetry on the lattice. The lattice action is invariant under a deformed supersymmetric transformation which is non-linear in the scalar fields and it is determined by an iterative procedure in the coupling constant to all orders in perturbation theory. We also show that the corresponding Ward-Takahashi identity is satisfied at fixed lattice spacing. The calculation is performed in lattice perturbation theory up to order $g^3$ (two-loop) …
We discuss an exact false vacuum decay rate at one loop for a real and complex scalar field in a quartic-quartic potential with two tree-level minima. The bounce solution is used to compute the functional determinant from both fluctuations. We obtain the finite product of eigenvalues and remove translational zero modes. The orbital modes are regularized with the zeta function and we end up with a complete renormalized decay rate. We derive simple expansions in the thin and thick wall limits and determine their validity.
We show that for a class of two-loop diagrams, the on-shell part of the integration-by-parts (IBP) relations correspond to exact meromorphic one-forms on algebraic curves. Since it is easy to find such exact meromorphic one-forms from algebraic geometry, this idea provides a new highly efficient algorithm for integral reduction. We demonstrate the power of this method via several complicated two-loop diagrams with internal massive legs. No explicit elliptic or hyperelliptic integral computation is needed for our method.
We present a derivation of an exact high temperature expansion for a one-loop thermodynamic potential $Ω(\tildeμ)$ with complex chemical potential $\tildeμ$. The result is given in terms of a single sum the coefficients of which are analytical functions of $\tildeμ$ consisting of polynomials and polygamma functions, decoupled from the physical expansion parameter $βm$. The analytic structure of the coefficients permits us to explicitly calculate the thermodynamic potential for the imaginary chemical potential and analytically continue the domain to the complex $\tildeμ$ plane. Furthermore, our…
