The inclusive hadroproduction of a Higgs boson and of a jet, featuring large transverse momenta and well separated in rapidity, is proposed as a novel probe channel for the manifestation of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) dynamics. Using the standard BFKL approach, with partial inclusion of next-to-leading order effects, predictions are presented for azimuthal Higgs-jet correlations and other observables, to be possibly compared with experimental analyses at the LHC and with theoretical predictions obtained in different schemes.
I review the recent progress in computing inclusive B decay widths and spectra and its implications on the interpretation of measurements from the B factories. I discuss the inclusive charmless semileptonic decay, B -> X_u l nu, which provides the most robust determination of the CKM parameter |V_{ub}|, and the rare radiative decay, B -> X_s gamma, which constrains flavor violation beyond the Standard Model. I demonstrate that precise predictions for the experimentally-relevant branching fractions can be derived from resummed perturbation theory and explain the way in which the resummation fur…
We summarize a new analysis of the distribution $ϕ_η^{*}$ of charged leptons produced in decays of $Z$ and $γ^{*}$ bosons in the Collins-Soper-Sterman (CSS) formalism for transverse momentum resummation. By comparing the $ϕ_η^{*}$ distribution measured at the Tevatron with the resummed CSS cross section with approximate ${\cal O}(α_{s}^{2})$ Wilson coefficients, we constrain the magnitude of the nonperturbative Gaussian smearing factor and analyze its uncertainty caused by variations in scale parameters. We find excellent agreement between the $ϕ_η^{*}$ data and our theoretical prediction, pro…
We present an analysis of nonperturbative contributions to the transverse momentum distribution of $Z/γ^*$ bosons produced at hadron colliders. The new data on the angular distribution $ϕ^*_η$ of Drell-Yan pairs measured at the Tevatron is shown to be in excellent agreement with a perturbative QCD prediction based on the Collins-Soper-Sterman (CSS) resummation formalism at NNLL accuracy. Using these data, we determine the nonperturbative component of the CSS resummed cross section and estimate its dependence on arbitrary resummation scales and other factors. With the scale dependence included …
In this paper we investigate the hadronic mass spectra of inclusive B decays. Specifically, we study how an upper cut on the invariant mass spectrum, which is necessary to extract V_{ub}, results in the breakdown of the standard perturbative expansion due to the existence of large infrared logs. We first show how the decay rate factorizes at the level of the double differential distribution. Then, we present closed form expressions for the resummed cut rate for the inclusive decays B -> X_s gamma and B -> X_u e nu at next-to-leading order in the infrared logs. Using these results, we determine…
We present three loop soft-plus-virtual (SV) corrections to the spin-2 production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). For this calculation, we make use of the recently computed quark and gluon three loop form factors for the spin-2 production, the universal soft-collinear coefficients as well as the mass factorization kernels. The SV coefficients are presented up to next-to-next-to-next-to leading order (N$^3$LO). We also use these coefficients at three loops to compute the resummed prediction for inclusive cross-section to next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic accuracy (N$^3$LL) matched…
We calculate the complete double logarithmic contribution to cross sections for semi-inclusive hadron production in the modified minimal-subtraction scheme by applying dimensional regularization to the double logarithm approximation. The full double logarithmic contribution to the coefficient functions for inclusive hadron production in electron-positron annihilation is obtained in this scheme for the first time. Our result agrees with all fixed order results in the literature, which extend to next-next-to-leading order.
We present a Borel resummation method for the QCD corrections in inclusive, charmless, semileptonic B meson decay. The renormalon contributions are resummed to all orders by employing a bilocal expansion of the Borel transform that accurately accounts for the first infrared renormalons in the Borel plane. The renormalons in the pole mass and the QCD expansion are resummed separately, and a precise relation is obtained between a properly defined pole mass and the ${\bar {\rm MS}}$ mass. The inclusive decay rate is calculated to three loop order using an estimate of the yet unknown NNLO coeffici…
We discuss threshold resummation in radiative and charmless semileptonic B decays. To deal with the large non perturbative effects, we introduce a model for NNLL resummed form factors based on the analytic QCD coupling. By means of this model we can reproduce with good accuracy the experimental data. Finally we briefly present an improved threshold resummed formula to deal with jets initiated by massive quarks as in the case of semileptonic charmed decays.
In this paper we discuss the theoretical difficulties in extracting $V_{ub}$ using the data from inclusive B decays. Specifically, we address the issue of the end point singularities. We perform the resummation of both the leading and next to leading end point logs and include the leading corrections to the hard scattering amplitude. We find that the resummation is a $20\%-50\%$ effect in the end point region where the resummation is valid. Furthermore, the resummed sub-leading logs dominate the resummed double logs. The consequences of this result for a model independent extraction of the mix…
We present the resummed predictions for inclusive cross-section for Drell-Yan (DY) production as well as onshell $Z,W^\pm$ productions at next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic (N$^{3}$LL) accuracy. Using the standard techniques, we derive the $N$-dependent coefficients in the Mellin-$N$ space as well as the $N$-independent constants and match the resummed result through the minimal prescription matching procedure with that of existing next-to next-to leading order (NNLO). In addition to the standard $\ln N$ exponentiation, we study the numerical impacts of exponentiating $N$-independent …
We derive threshold resummations for single-particle and single-jet inclusive cross sections, thus generalizing previous results at fixed invariant mass to a wider class of cross sections with phenomenological interest. We confirm the structure of our resummed expressions by comparison with explicit one-loop calculations for direct photons and heavy quarks.
We present threshold enhanced QCD corrections to inclusive processes such as Deep inelastic scattering, Drell-Yan process and Higgs productions through gluon fusion and bottom quark annihilation processes using the resummed cross sections. The resummed cross sections are derived using renormalisation group invariance and mass factorisation theorem that these hard scattering cross sections satisfy and Sudakov resummation of QCD amplitudes. We show how these higher order threshold QCD corrections improve the theoretical predictions for the Higgs production through gluon fusion at hadron collider…
The inclusive transverse momentum and rapidity distributions for top quark production at the Fermilab Tevatron are presented both in order $α_s^3$ in QCD and using the resummation of the leading soft gluon corrections in all orders of QCD perturbation theory. The resummed results are uniformly larger than the $O(α_s^3)$ results for both distributions.
We study the resummation of large logarithmic perturbative corrections to the single-inclusive jet cross section at hadron colliders. The corrections we address arise near the threshold for the partonic reaction, when the incoming partons have just enough energy to produce the high-transverse-momentum final state. The structure of the resulting logarithmic corrections is known to depend crucially on the treatment of the invariant mass of the produced jet at threshold. We allow the jet to have a non-vanishing mass at threshold, which most closely corresponds to the situation in experiment. Matc…
We explore the effects of the resummation of large logarithmic perturbative corrections to double-longitudinal spin asymmetries for inclusive and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering in fixed-target experiments. We find that the asymmetries are overall rather robust with respect to the inclusion of the resummed higher-order terms. Significant effects are observed at fairly high values of x, where resummation tends to decrease the spin asymmetries. This effect turns out to be more pronounced for semi-inclusive scattering. We also investigate the potential impact of resummation on the extrac…
Using the standard Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) approach, with partial inclusion of next-to-leading order effects, we propose the inclusive hadroproduction of a Higgs boson and of a jet, featuring large transverse momenta and well separated in rapidity, as a new channel to probe the BFKL dynamics. Predictions are presented for cross-sections and azimuthal angle correlations in different kinematics configurations for the final-state transverse momenta. We find that the large energy scales provided by the emission of a Higgs boson stabilize the BFKL series.
We study one-jet inclusive hadro-production and compute the QCD threshold corrections for large transverse momentum of the jet in the soft-gluon resummation formalism at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. We use the resummed result to generate approximate QCD corrections at next-to-next-to leading order, compare with results in the literature and present rapidity integrated distributions of the jet's transverse momentum for Tevatron and LHC. For the threshold approximation we investigate its kinematical range of validity as well as its dependence on the jet's cone size and kinematics.
We discuss the inclusive production of D*+- mesons in gamma-proton collisions at DESY HERA, based on a calculation at next-to-leading order in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme. In this approach, MSbar subtraction is applied in such a way that large logarithmic corrections are resummed in universal parton distribution and fragmentation functions and finite mass terms are taken into account. We present detailed numerical results for a comparison with data obtained at HERA and discuss various sources of theoretical uncertainties.
Our calculation of the total cross section for inclusive production of $t\bar{t}$ pairs in hadron collisions is summarized. The principal ingredient of this calculation is resummation of the universal leading-logarithm effects of gluon radiation to all orders in the quantum chromodynamics coupling strength, restricted to the region of phase space that is manifestly perturbative. We present predictions of the physical cross section as a function of top quark mass in proton-antiproton reactions at center-of-mass energies of 1.8 and 2.0 TeV.
High energy observables are characterized by large electroweak radiative corrections of infrared origin; double logarithms are present even for inclusive cross sections, thus violating the Bloch Nordsieck theorem. This effect, related to the initial states carrying nonabelian isospin charges, is here investigated for {\sl any} inclusive cross section in the SU(2)$\otimes$U(1) symmetric limit, that is appropriate for energies much higher than the weak scale. We develop a general formalism allowing to calculate the all order double log resummed cross sections once the hard (tree level) ones are …
We investigate the QCD resummation for the Higgs boson plus a high $P_T$ jet production with large rapidity separations in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The relevant Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) and Sudakov logs are identified and resummed. In particular, we apply recent developments of the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism in the impact factors, which provides a systematic framework to incorporate both the BFKL and Sudakov resummations.
We calculate the contribution of the higher-twist Feynman diagrams to the large-$p_T$ inclusive gluon production cross-section in $πp$ collisions in case of the running coupling and frozen coupling approaches within perturbative and holographic QCD. The structure of infrared renormalon singularities of the higher-twist subprocess cross-section is obtained and the resummed higher-twist cross- sections (Borel sum) with the ones obtained in the framework of the frozen coupling approach and leading-twist cross-section are compared and analyzed.
The complete next-to-next-to leading order (NNLO) QCD correction has been studied to the di-lepton invariant mass distribution within the Randall-Sundrum (RS) framework. In addition, the soft-virtual (SV) cross-section at next-to-next-to-next-to leading order (N$^3$LO) as well as threshold resummation to next-to-next-to leading logarithms (NNLL) level have been presented. The analytical coefficient for SV production has been obtained up to three loops very recently along with the process-dependent coefficients needed to perform resummation up to NNLL. These coefficients are universal for any u…
We present all-order expressions for the leading double-logarithmic threshold contributions to the quark-gluon coefficient functions for inclusive Higgs-boson production in the heavy top-quark limit and for Drell-Yan lepton-pair production. These results have been derived using the structure of the unfactorized cross sections in dimensional regularization and the large-x resummation of the gluon-quark and quark-gluon splitting functions. The resummed coefficient functions, which are identical up to colour factor replacements, are similar to their counterparts in deep-inelastic scattering but s…
We have calculated the next-to-leading order cross sections for the inclusive production of D*-mesons in ep collisions at HERA for finite, although very small Q2. In this Q2-range, the same approximations as for photoproduction can be used. Our calculation is performed in the general-mass variable-flavour-number scheme. In this approach, large logarithms of the charm transverse momentum are resummed and finite terms depending on m^2/p_T^2 are kept in the hard scattering cross sections. The theoretical results are compared with recent data from the ZEUS collaboration at HERA. On average, we fin…
We consider the inclusive process where a pair of identified hadrons having large transverse momenta is produced in high-energy proton-proton collisions. We concentrate on the kinematics where the two identified hadrons in the final state are separated by a large interval of rapidity. In this case the cross section receives large higher-order corrections, which can be resummed in the BFKL approach. We provide a theoretical input for the resummation of such contributions with next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. This process has much in common with the widely discussed Mueller-Navelet jets pro…
We present a computation of the inclusive Drell-Yan production cross-section in perturbative QCD to all orders in the limit of high partonic centre-of-mass energy. We compare our results to the fixed order NLO and NNLO results in MSbar scheme, and provide predictions at NNNLO and beyond. Our expressions may be used to obtain fully resummed results for the inclusive cross-section.
The detection and the measurement of the production cross section of a light Higgs boson at the CERN Large Hadron Collider demand the accurate prediction of the background distributions of photon pairs. To improve this theoretical prediction, we present the soft-gluon resummed calculation of the $p p \to γγX$ cross section, including the exact one loop $g g \to γγg$ contribution. By incorporating the known fixed order results and the leading terms in the higher order corrections, the resummed cross section provides a reliable prediction for the inclusive diphoton invariant mass and transverse …
We have studied color-octet contributions for $J/ψ$ inclusive production at B factories, i.e., $e^+e^-\to J/ψ(^3P_J^{[8]},^1S_0^{[8]}) + X_{\mathrm{non}-c\bar c}$, using the soft gluon factorization (SGF) approach, in which the $J/ψ$ energy spectrum is expressed in a form of perturbatively calculable short-distance hard parts convoluted with one-dimensional soft gluon distributions (SGDs). The series of velocity corrections originated from kinematic effect can be naturally resummed in this approach. Short-distance hard parts have been calculated analytically to next-to-leading order in $α_s$. …
We present an accurate theoretical prediction for the production of Higgs boson through bottom quark annihilation at the LHC up to next-to-next-to-next-to leading order (N$^3$LO) plus next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (N$^3$LL) accuracy. We determine the third order perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) correction to the process dependent constant in the resummed expression using the three loop bottom quark form factor and third order quark soft distribution function. Thanks to the recent computation of N$^3$LO corrections to this production cross-section from all the partonic ch…
We define a general scheme for the evolution of fragmentation functions which resums soft gluon logarithms in a manner consistent with fixed order evolution. We present an explicit example of our approach in which double logarithms are resummed using the Double Logarithmic Approximation. We show that this scheme reproduces the Modified Leading Logarithm Approximation in certain limits, and find that after using it to fit quark and gluon fragmentation functions to experimental data,a good description of the data from the largest x values to the peak region in ln (1/x) is obtained. In addition, …
We investigate the inclusive hadroproduction of a Higgs boson in association with a jet, featuring large transverse momenta and separated by a large rapidity distance. We propose this reaction, that can be studied at the LHC as well as at new-generation colliding machines, as a novel probe channel for the manifestation of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) dynamics. We bring evidence that high-energy resummed distributions in rapidity and transverse momentum exhibit a solid stability under higher-order corrections, thus offering us a faultless chance to gauge the feasibility of precision…
We present for the first time resummed predictions at NLO + NLL' accuracy for the Durham jet-resolution scales $y_{n,n+1}$ in multijet production in $e^+e^-$ collisions. Results are obtained using an implementation of the well known CAESAR formalism within the SHERPA framework. For the 4-, 5- and 6-jet resolutions we discuss in particular the impact of subleading colour contributions and compare to matrix-element plus parton-shower predictions from SHERPA and VINCIA.
We present the resummed predictions for inclusive cross section for the production of Higgs boson at next-to-next-to leading logarithmic ($\rm \overline {NNLL}$) accuracy taking into account both soft-virtual ($\rm SV$) and next-to SV ($\rm NSV$) threshold logarithms. We derive the $N$-dependent coefficients and the $N$-independent constants in Mellin-$N$ space for our study. Using the minimal prescription we perform the inverse Mellin transformation and match it with the corresponding fixed order results. We report in detail the numerical impact of $N$-independent part of resummed result and …
The annihilation cross section of weakly interacting TeV scale dark matter particles $χ^0$ into photons is affected by large quantum corrections due to electroweak Sudakov logarithms and the Sommerfeld effect. We extend our previous work on the resummation of the semi-inclusive photon energy spectrum in $χ^0χ^0\to γ+X$ in the vicinity of the maximal photon energy $E_γ= m_χ$ with NLL' accuracy from the case of narrow photon energy resolution $E^γ_{\rm res}$ of order $m_W^2/m_χ$ to intermediate resolution of order $E^γ_{\rm res} \sim m_W$. We also provide details on the previous narrow resolutio…
In this paper, the soft gluon resummation effect in the Higgs boson plus two-jet production at the LHC is studied. By applying the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism, the large logarithms introduced by the small total transverse momentum of the Higgs boson plus two-jet final state system, are resummed to all orders in the expansion of the strong interaction coupling at the accuracy of Next-to-Leading Logarithm. We also compare our result with the prediction of the Monte Carlo event generator Pythia8, and found noticeable difference in the distributions of the total transvers…
We present calculations of next-to-leading order and resummed QCD corrections for semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering and single-inclusive e+e- annihilation. The resummation is performed to next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. Knowing these QCD corrections is important in order to extract parton distribution functions and fragmentation functions from present and future data for these reactions. We present comparisons of our results to recent data by the COMPASS, HERMES, Belle, and BaBar experiments.
We explore the quark mass effects on inclusive hadron production in proton-nucleus collisions at high energies. We consider two processes. First, we compute the single inclusive cross-section for production of hadrons with open heavy flavour in the proton forward direction at leading order. Next, in the same kinematics, we calculate the heavy-quark contribution to single inclusive production of light or unidentified hadrons at next-to-leading-order. For both studies we exploit the hybrid formalism, that is the collinear factorisation on the proton side while high-density and high-energy effect…
Calculating the distribution of jet masses in high-energy collisions is challenging because fixed-order perturbation theory breaks down near the peak region, and because multiple scales complicate the resummation. To avoid using a jet veto, one can consider inclusive observables, in which every particle is in a jet. We demonstrate that calculating the mass of the hardest jet in multijet events can be problematic, and we give an example of an inclusive observable, asymmetric thrust, which can be resummed to next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. Exclusive observables with out-of-jet regi…
We present threshold enhanced N$^3$LO QCD corrections to inclusive Higgs production through bottom anti-bottom annihilation at hadron colliders using threshold resummed cross section. The resummed cross section is obtained using factorization properties and Sudakov resummation of the inclusive cross section. We use the recent results on threshold N$^3$LO corrections in QCD for Drell-Yan production and three loop QCD corrections to Higgs form factor with bottom anti-bottom quark to achieve this task. This is the first step towards the evaluation of complete N$^3$LO result. We have numerically d…
We present the first double-resummed prediction of the inclusive cross section for the main Higgs production channel in proton-proton collisions, namely gluon fusion. Our calculation incorporates to all orders in perturbation theory two distinct towers of logarithmic corrections which are enhanced, respectively, at threshold, i.e. large x, and in the high-energy limit, i.e. small x. Large-x logarithms are resummed to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy, while small-x ones to leading logarithmic accuracy. The double-resummed cross section is furthermore matched to the state-of-…
This letter presents a study of the inclusive production of X$\rightarrow b\bar{b}$ plus a recoil, using simulated samples of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV for an integrated luminosity in the range between 30 fb$^{-1}$ to 3 ab$^{-1}$. The case for experiments to include un-prescaled $b$-tag multijet triggers for this topology is made and the ideal jet thresholds are discussed. The sensitivity to Standard Model Higgs with a transverse momentum of at least 200 GeV is evaluated with respect to a continuous background, dominated by multijet processes. The mass of $b$-jet-pairs is analysed, …
Single inclusive particle production at next-to-leading order in proton-nucleus collisions at forward rapidities: hybrid approach meets TMD factorization
We present predictions for the gluon-fusion Higgs $p_T$ spectrum at third resummed and fixed order (N$^3$LL$'+$N$^3$LO) including fiducial cuts as required by experimental measurements at the Large Hadron Collider. Integrating the spectrum, we predict for the first time the total fiducial cross section to third order (N$^3$LO) and improved by resummation. The N$^3$LO correction is enhanced by cut-induced logarithmic effects and is not reproduced by the inclusive N$^3$LO correction times a lower-order acceptance. These are the highest-order predictions of their kind achieved so far at a hadron …
Jet vetoes play an important role at the LHC in the search for the Higgs and ultimately in precise measurements of its properties. Many Higgs analyses divide the cross section into exclusive jet bins to maximize the sensitivity in different production and decay channels. For a given jet category, the veto on additional jets introduces sensitivity to soft and collinear emissions, which causes logarithms in the perturbative expansion that need to be resummed to obtain precise predictions. We study the higher-order resummation properties of several conceptually distinct kinematic variables that c…
We present preliminary results for fits of parton distribution functions (PDFs) which include the resummation of small-$x$ logarithms at NLLx accuracy, performed in the NNPDF framework. We observe an improvement in the description of DIS data at small values of Bjorken $x$ when resummation effects are included. The improvement is more marked when comparing NNLO+NLLx fits to NNLO ones, and is particularly noticeable for small-$x$ and small-$Q^2$ HERA inclusive structure functions. The main effect of the resummation is an enhancement of the gluon and singlet PDFs at small-$x$, which persists at …
We discuss an extension of matrix element plus parton shower merging at leading and next-to-leading order. The algorithm does preserve inclusive cross sections at the respective input order. This constraint avoids potentially large logarithmic contributions, which would require approximate (N)NLO contributions to cancel against.
The annihilation cross section of TeV scale dark matter particles $χ^0$ with electroweak charges into photons is affected by large quantum corrections due to Sudakov logarithms and the Sommerfeld effect. We calculate the semi-inclusive photon energy spectrum in $χ^0χ^0\to γ+X$ in the vicinity of the maximal photon energy $E_γ= m_χ$ with NLL' accuracy in an all-order summation of the electroweak perturbative expansion adopting the pure wino model. This results in the most precise theoretical prediction of the annihilation rate for $γ$-ray telescopes with photon energy resolution of parametric o…
In this article, we investigate the contribution of the higher twist Feynman diagrams to the large-$p_T$ inclusive pion production cross section in proton-proton collisions and present the general formulae for the higher twist differential cross sections in the case of the running coupling and frozen coupling approaches. The structure of infrared renormalon singularities of the higher twist subprocess cross section and the resummed expression (the Borel sum) for it are found. We compared the resummed higher twist cross sections with the ones obtained in the framework of the frozen coupling app…
We present an event generator for the process $pp\to \ellν_\ellγ$ at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD and matched to the PYTHIA8 parton shower. The calculation makes use of the GENEVA framework, which combines a resummed calculation obtained via Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) with the fixed-order result. We validate the NNLO accuracy of our results by comparing predictions for inclusive quantities with an independent fixed-order calculation, and then present the resummed 0-jettiness spectrum at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL$'$) accuracy. Finally, we compare our p…
Our calculation of the total cross section for inclusive production of $t\bar{t}$ pairs in hadron collisions is presented. The principal ingredient of the calculation is resummation of the universal leading-logarithm effects of gluon radiation to all orders in the quantum chromodynamics coupling strength, restricted to the region of phase space that is demonstrably perturbative. We derive the perturbative regime of the resummed series, starting from the principal-value resummation approach, and we isolate the perturbative domain in both moment space and, upon inversion of the corresponding Mel…
We use techniques from soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) to derive renormalization-group improved predictions for single-particle inclusive (1PI) observables in top-quark pair production at hadron colliders. In particular, we study the top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions, the forward-backward asymmetry at the Tevatron, and the total cross section at NLO+NNLL order in resummed perturbation theory and at approximate NNLO in fixed order. We also perform a detailed analysis of power corrections to the leading terms in the threshold expansion of the partonic hard-scatterin…
We study the multiple soft gluon radiation effects in $Z$ boson plus jet production at the LHC. By applying the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism, the large logarithms introduced by the small total transverse momentum of the $Z$ boson plus jet final state system, are resummed to all orders in the expansion of the strong interaction coupling at the accuracy of Next-to-Leading Logarithm(NLL). We also compare the prediction of our resummation calculation to the CMS data by employing a reweighting procedure to estimate the effect from imposing kinematic cuts on the leptons from…
We resum Sudakov threshold enhancements in heavy quark hadroproduction for single-heavy quark inclusive and pair-inclusive kinematics. We expand these resummed results and derive analytical finite-order cross sections through next-to-next-to-leading order. This involves the construction of next-to-leading order matching conditions in color space. For the scale dependent terms we derive exact results using renormalization group methods. We study the effects of scale variations, scheme and kinematics choice on the partonic and hadronic cross sections, and provide estimates for top and bottom qua…
In this article, we investigate the contribution of the higher-twist Feynman diagrams to the large-$p_T$ inclusive single meson production cross section in photon-photon collisions and present the general formulas for the higher-twist differential cross sections in case of the running coupling and frozen coupling approaches. The structure of infrared renormalon singularities of the higher-twist subprocess cross section and the resummed expression (the Borel sum) for it are found. We compared the resummed higher-twist cross sections with the ones obtained in the framework of the frozen coupling…
