The classical boundaries of the quantum singular oscillator (SO) is addressed under Weyl-Wigner phase-space and Bohmian mechanics frameworks as to comparatively evaluate phase-space and configuration space quantum trajectories as well as to compute distorting quantum fluctuations. For an engendered pure state \textit{quasi}-gaussian Wigner function that recovers the classical time evolution (at phase and configuration spaces), Bohmian trajectories are analytically obtained as to show how the SO energy and anharmonicity parameters drive the quantum regime through the so-called quantum force, which quantitatively distorts the recovered classical behavior. Extending the discussion of classical-quantum limits to a quantum statistical ensemble, the thermalized Wigner function and the corresponding Wigner currents are computed as to show how the temperature dependence affects the local quantum fluctuations. Considering that the level of quantum mixing is quantified by the quantum purity, the loss of information is quantified in terms of the temperature effects. Despite having contrasting phase-space flow profiles, two inequivalent quantum systems, namely the singular and the harmonic oscillators, besides reproducing stable classical limits, are shown to be statistically equivalent at thermal equilibrium, a fact that raises the SO non-linear system to a very particular category of quantum systems.
Bound-state solutions of the singular harmonic oscillator and singular Coulomb potentials in arbitrary dimensions are generated in a simple way from the solutions of the one-dimensional generalized Morse potential. The nonsingular harmonic oscillator and nonsingular Coulomb potentials in arbitrary dimensions with their additional accidental degeneracies are obtained as particular cases. Added bonuses from these mappings are the straightforward determination of the critical attractive singular potential, the proper boundary condition on the radial eigenfunction at the origin and the inexistence…
In the case of a one-dimensional nonsingular Hamiltonian $H$ and a singular supersymmetric partner $H_a$, the Darboux and factorization relations of supersymmetric quantum mechanics can be only formal relations. It was shown how we can construct an adequate partner by using infinite barriers placed where are located the singularities on the real axis and recover isospectrality. This method was applied to superpartners of the harmonic oscillator with one singularity. In this paper, we apply this method to the singular isotonic oscillator with two singularities on the real axis. We also applied …
We consider a physical system which is coupled indirectly to a Markovian resevoir through an oscillator mode. This is the case, for example, in the usual model of an atomic sample in a leaky optical cavity which is ubiquitous in quantum optics. In the strong coupling limit the oscillator can be eliminated entirely from the model, leaving an effective direct coupling between the system and the resevoir. Here we provide a mathematically rigorous treatment of this limit as a weak limit of the time evolution and observables on a suitably chosen exponential domain in Fock space. The resulting effec…
Exactly solvable model of the quantum isotropic three-dimensional singular oscillator in the relativistic configurational $\vec r$-space is proposed. We have found the radial wavefunctions, which are expressed through the continuous dual Hahn polynomials and energy spectrum for the model under consideration. It is shown that they have the correct non-relativistic limits.
Two Dunkl oscillator models are considered: one singular and the other with a 2:1 frequency ratio. These models are defined by Hamiltonians which include the reflection operators in the two variables x and y. The singular or caged Dunkl oscillator is second-order superintegrable and admits separation of variables in both Cartesian and polar coordinates. The spectrum of the Hamiltonian is obtained algebraically and the separated wavefunctions are given in the terms of Jacobi, Laguerre and generalized Hermite polynomials. The symmetry generators are constructed from the su(1,1) dynamical operato…
The one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with the singular harmonic oscillator is investigated. The Hermiticity of the operators related to observable physical quantities is used as a criterion to show that the attractive or repulsive singular oscillator exhibits an infinite number of acceptable solutions provided the parameter responsible for the singularity is greater than a certain critical value, in disagreement with the literature. The problem for the whole line exhibits a two-fold degeneracy in the case of the singular oscillator, and the intrusion of additional solutions in the case of …
The description of number of dual (quasy)-exactly solvable models with its hidden symmetry algebra has been given at different levels of analysis within the framework of generalized Kustaanheimo-Stiefel (KS)-transformations. It's shown that N-dimensionall singular oscillator and (n+1)-dimensional generalized MICZ-Kepler system are dual to each other and the duality transformation is the generalized version of the KS transformation. The solvability of the Schrodinger equation of these problems by the variables separation method is given in a double, spherical and parabolic coordinates. The quad…
We have obtained the solutions of two dimensional singular oscillator which is known as the quantum Calogero-Sutherland model both in cartesian and parabolic coordinates within the framework of quantum Hamilton Jacobi formalism. Solvability conditions and eigenfunctions are obtained by using the singularity structures of quantum momentum functions under some conditions. New potentials are generated by using the first two states of singular oscillator for parabolic coordinates.
The geometrical phase of a time-dependent singular oscillator is obtained in the framework of Gaussian wave packet. It is shown by a simple geometrical approach that the geometrical phase is connected to the classical nonadiabatic Hannay angle of the generalized harmonic oscillator.
In this paper we perform an exact study of ``Quantum Fidelity'' (also called Loschmidt Echo) for the time-periodic quantum Harmonic Oscillator of Hamiltonian : $$ \hat H\_{g}(t):=\frac{P^2}{2}+ f(t)\frac{Q^2}{2}+\frac{g^2}{Q^2} $$ when compared with the quantum evolution induced by $\hat H\_{0}(t)$ ($g=0$), in the case where $f$ is a $T$-periodic function and $g$ a real constant. The reference (initial) state is taken to be an arbitrary ``generalized coherent state'' in the sense of Perelomov. We show that, starting with a quadratic decrease in time in the neighborhood of $t=0$, this quantum f…
It is shown that the generalized MIC-Kepler system and four-dimensional singular oscillator are dual to each other and the duality transformation is the generalized version of the Kustaanheimo-Stiefel transformation.
Closed-form expressions for the singular-potential integrals <m| x^-alpha |n> are obtained with respect to the Gol'dman and Krivchenkov eigenfunctions for the singular potential V(x) = B x^2 + A/x^2, B > 0, A >= 0. These formulas are generalizations of those found earlier by use of the odd solutions of the Schroedinger equation with the harmonic oscillator potential [Aguilera-Navarro et al, J. Math. Phys. 31, 99 (1990)].
The time operator for a quantum singular oscillator of the Calogero-Sutherland type is constructed in terms of the generators of the SU(1,1) group. In the space spanned by the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian, the time operator is not self-adjoint. We show, that the time-energy uncertainty relation can be given the meaning within the Barut-Girardello coherent states defined for the singular oscillator. We have also shown the relationship with the time-of-arrival operator of Aharonov and Bohm.

New applications of Feynman disentangling method in quantum mechanics are studied and the time-dependent singular oscillator problem is solved in this approach. The important role of representation group theory is discussed in this context.
New families of time-dependent potentials related with the stationary singular oscillator are introduced. This is achieved after noticing that a non stationary quantum invariant can be constructed for the singular oscillator. Such invariant depends on coefficients that are related to solutions of an Ermakov equation, the latter becomes essential since it guarantees the regularity of the solutions at each time. In this form, after applying the factorization method to the quantum invariant, rather than the Hamiltonian, one manages to introduce the time parameter into the transformation, leading …
The Schrödinger equation for the four-dimensional double singular oscillator is separable in Eulerian, doble polar and spheroidal coordinates in ${\rm I R}^4$. It is shown that the coefficients for the expansion of double polar basis in terms of the Eulerian basis can be expressed through the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of the group SU(2) analytically continued to real values of their arguments. The coefficients for the expansions of the spheroidal basis in terms of the Eulerian and double polar bases are proved to satisfy three-term recursion relations.
It is shown, contrary to popular belief, that {\it single unknown} oscillator coherent states can be endowed with a {\em measurable statistical significance}.
For a time-dependent harmonic oscillator with an inverse squared singular term, we find the generalized invariant using the Lie algebra of $SU(2)$ and construct the number-type eigenstates and the coherent states using the spectrum-generating Lie algebra of $SU(1,1)$. We obtain the evolution operator in both of the Lie algebras. The number-type eigenstates and the coherent states are constructed group-theoretically for both the time-independent and the time-dependent harmonic oscillators with the singular term. It is shown that the squeeze operator transforms unitarily the time-dependent basis…
Three linearly independent Hermitian invariants for the nonstationary generalized singular oscillator (SO) are constructed and their complex linear combination is diagonalized. The constructed family of eigenstates contains as subsets all previously obtained solutions for the SO and includes all Robertson and Schrödinger intelligent states for the three invariants. It is shown that the constructed analogues of the SU(1,1) group-related coherent states for the SO minimize the Robertson and Schrödinger relations for the three invariants and for every pair of them simultaneously. The squeezing pr…
The problem of existence of a self-adjoint time operator conjugate to a Hamiltonian with SU(1,1) dynamical symmetry is investigated. In the space spanned by the eigenstates of the generator $K_3$ of the SU(1,1) group, the time operator for the quantum singular harmonic potential of the form $ω^2x2 + g/x2$ is constructed explicitly, and shown that it is related to the time-of-arrival operator of Aharonov and Bohm. Our construction is fully algebraic, involving only the generators of the SU(1,1) group.
Darboux transformation of both Barut-Girardello and Perelomov coherent states for the time-dependent singular oscillator is studied. In both cases the measure that realizes the resolution of the identity operator in terms of coherent states is found and corresponding holomorphic representation is constructed. For the particular case of a free particle moving with a fixed value of the angular momentum equal to two it is shown that Barut-Giriardello coherent states are more localized at the initial time moment while the Perelomov coherent states are more stable with respect to time evolution. It…
We suggest to use the action-angle variables for the study of properties of (quasi)particles in quantum rings. For this purpose we present the action-angle variables for three two-dimensional singular oscillator systems. The first one is the usual (Euclidean) singular oscillator, which plays the role of the confinement potential for the quantum ring. We also propose two singular spherical oscillator models for the role of the confinement system for the spherical ring. The first one is based on the standard Higgs oscillator potential. We show that, in spite of the presence of a hidden symmetry,…
We define the oscillator and Coulomb systems on four-dimensional spaces with U(2)-invariant Kahler metric and perform their Hamiltonian reduction to the three-dimensional oscillator and Coulomb systems specified by the presence of Dirac monopoles. We find the Kahler spaces with conic singularity, where the oscillator and Coulomb systems on three-dimensional sphere and two-sheet hyperboloid are originated. Then we construct the superintegrable oscillator system on three-dimensional sphere and hyperboloid, coupled to monopole, and find their four-dimensional origins. In the latter case the metri…
Scalar and vector bosons in the background of one-dimensional nonminimal vector linear plus inversely linear potentials are explored in a unified way in the context of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau theory. The problem is mapped into a Sturm-Liouville problem with an effective singular oscillator. With boundary conditions emerging from the problem, exact bound-state solutions in the spin-0 sector are found in closed form and it is shown that the spectrum exhibits degeneracy. It is shown that, depending on the potential parameters, there may or may not exist bound-state solutions in the spin-1 sector…
We present a version of q-deformed calculus based on deformed counterparts of Darboux intertwining operators. The case in which the deformed transformation function is of the vacuum type is detailed, but the extension to counterparts of excited states used as Darboux transformation functions is also formally discussed. The method leads to second-order Fokker-Planck-like deformed operators which may be considered as supersymmetric partners, though for a sort of q-deformed open systems, i.e., those possessing q nonlocal drift terms, potential part, as well as q-spreaded vacuum fluctuations. The …
Following the paper by M. Combescure [Ann. Phys. (NY) 204, 113 (1990)], we apply the quantum singular time dependent oscillator model to describe the relative one dimensional motion of two ions in a trap. We argue that the model can be justified for low energy excited states with the quantum numbers $n\ll n_{max}\sim 100$, provided that the dimensionless constant characterizing the strength of the repulsive potential is large enough, $g_*\sim 10^5$. Time dependent Gaussian-like wave packets generalizing odd coherent states of the harmonic oscillator, and excitation number eigenstates are const…
Using linear invariant operators in a constructive way we find the most general thermal density operator and Wigner function for time-dependent generalized oscillators. The general Wigner function has five free parameters and describes the thermal Wigner function about a classical trajectory in phase space. The contour of the Wigner function depicts an elliptical orbit with a constant area moving about the classical trajectory, whose eccentricity determines the squeezing of the initial vacuum.
Specific nonequilibrium states of the quantum harmonic oscillator described by the Lindblad equation have been hereby suggested. This equation makes it possible to determine time-varying effects produced by statistical operator or statistical matrix. Thus, respective representation-varied equilibrium statistical matrixes have been found. Specific mean value equations have been found and their equilibrium solutions have been obtained.

In a recent thermodynamic analysis of the harmonic oscillator and using an interpolation procedure, Boyer has shown that the existence of a zero-point energy leads to the Planck spectrum. Here we avoid the interpolation by adding a statistical argument to arrive at Planck's law as an inescapable result of the presence of the zero-point energy. No explicit quantum argument is introduced along the derivations. We disclose the connection of our results with the original analysis of Planck and Einstein, which led to the notion of the quantized radiation field. We then inquire into the discrete or …
The Fisher-Shannon information and a statistical measure of complexity are calculated in the position and momentum spaces for the wave functions of the quantum isotropic harmonic oscillator. We show that these magnitudes are independent of the strength of the harmonic potential. Moreover, for each level of energy, it is found that these two indicators take their minimum values on the orbitals that correspond to the classical (circular) orbits in the Bohr-like quantum image, just those with the highest orbital angular momentum.
The 2+1 Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator ( 2+1 DMO ) is mapped into the generalized Jaynes-Cummings model (GJCM), in which an external magnetic field is coupled to an external isospin field. The basic equations of model are analytically solved, where the coherent state is considered as an initial state. The obtained results show that the strength of the magnetic field and the coupling parameter of the isospin field play important roles on some statistical properties such as entanglement, population inversion and degree of coherence. It has been shown that these parameters play a rule to increase ent…
The von Neumann trace form of quantum statistical mechanics is transformed to an integral over classical phase space. Formally exact expressions for the resultant position-momentum commutation function are given. A loop expansion for wave function symmetrization is also given. The method is tested for quantum harmonic oscillators. For both the boson and fermion cases, the grand potential and the average energy obtained by numerical quadrature over classical phase space are shown to agree with the known analytic results. A mean field approximation is given which is suitable for condensed matter…
The classical and the quantal problem of a particle interacting in one-dimension with an external time-dependent quadratic potential and a constant inverse square potential is studied from the Lie-algebraic point of view. The integrability of this system is established by evaluating the exact invariant closely related to the Lewis and Riesenfeld invariant for the time-dependent harmonic oscillator. We study extensively the special and interesting case of a kicked quadratic potential from which we derive a new integrable, nonlinear, area preserving, two-dimensional map which may, for instance, …
The problem of the initial conditions for the oscillator model of quantum dissipative systems is studied. It is argued that, even in the classical case, the hypothesis that the environment is in thermal equilibrium implies a statistical correlation between environment oscillators and central system. A simple form of initial conditions for the quantum problem, taking into account such a correlation in analogy with the classical ones, is derived on the base of symmetry considerations. The same symmetries also determine unambiguously the form of the Lagrangian. As a check of the new form of corre…
