In 2015, G.~Mikhalkin introduced a refined count for real rational curves in toric surfaces. The counted curves have to pass through some real and complex points located on the toric boundary of the surface, and the count is refined according to the value of a so called quantum index. This count happens only to depend on the number of complex points on each toric divisors, leading to an invariant. First, we give a way to compute the quantum index of any oriented real rational curve, getting rid of the previously needed "purely imaginary" assumption on the complex points. Then, we use the tropical geometry approach to relate these classical refined invariants to tropical refined invariants, defined using Block-Göttsche multiplicity. This generalizes the result of Mikhalkin relating both invariants in the case where all the points are real, and the result of the author where complex points are located on a single toric divisor.
Refined elliptic tropical invariants of toric surfaces
F. Block和L.
In arXiv:1505.04338(4), G. Mikhalkin introduced a refined count for the real rational curves in a toric surface which pass through certain conjugation invariant set of points on the toric boundary of the surface. Such a set consists of real points and pairs of complex conjugated points. He then proved that the result of this refined count depends only on the number of pairs of complex conjugated points on each toric divisor. Using the tropical geometry approach and the correspondence theorem, he managed to compute these invariants if all the points of the configuration are real. In this paper …
We construct refined tropical enumerative genus zero invariants of toric surfaces that specialize to the tropical descendant genus zero invariants introduced by Markwig and Rau when the quantum parameter tends to $1$. In the case of trivalent tropical curves our invariants turn to be the Goettsche-Schroeter refined broccoli invariants. We show that this is the only possible refinement of the Markwig-Rau descendant invariants that generalizes the Goettsche-Schroeter refined broccoli invariants. We discuss also the computational aspect (a lattice path algorithm) and exhibit some examples.
G. Mikhalkin introduced a refined count for real rational curves in a toric surface which pass through some points on the toric boundary of the surface. The refinement is provided by the value of a so-called quantum index. Moreover, he proved that the result of this refined count does not depend on the choice of the points. The correspondence theorem allows one to compute these invariants using the tropical geometry approach and the refined Block-Göttsche multiplicities. In this paper we give a recursive formula for these invariants, that leads to an algorithm to compute them.
We introduce a \textit{quantum index} for oriented real curves inside toric varieties. This quantum index is related to the computation of the area of the amoeba of the curve for some chosen 2-form. We then make a refined signed count of oriented real rational curves solution to some enumerative problem. This generalizes the results from G. Mikhalkin arXiv:1505.04338 to higher dimension. Finally, we use the tropical approach to relate these new refined invariants to previously known tropical refined invariants.
We study the monopole contribution to the refined Vafa-Witten invariant, recently defined by Maulik and Thomas [13]. We apply results of Gholampour and Thomas [7] to prove a universality result for the generating series of contributions of Higgs pairs with 1-dimensional weight spaces. For prime rank, these account for the entire monopole contribution, by a theorem of Thomas. We use toric computations to determine part of the generating series, and find agreement with the conjectures of Göttsche and Kool [10] for rank 2 and 3.

We introduce new invariants of the projective plane (and, more generally, of certain toric surfaces) that arise from the appropriate enumeration of real elliptic curves. These invariants admit a refinement (according to the quantum index) similar to the one introduced by Grigory Mikhalkin in the rational case. We also construct tropical counterparts of the refined elliptic invariants under consideration and establish a tropical algorithm allowing one to compute, {\it via} a suitable version of the correspondence theorem, the above invariants.
Motivated by previous computations of Y. Cao, M. Kool and the author, we propose square roots and sign rules for the vertex and edge terms that compute Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a toric Calabi-Yau 4-fold, and prove that they are canonical, exploiting the combinatorics of plane and solid partitions.
We give a short new computation of the quantum cohomology of an arbitrary smooth toric variety $X$, by showing directly that the Kodaira-Spencer map of Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono defines an isomorphism onto a suitable Jacobian ring. The proof is based on the purely algebraic fact that a class of generalised Jacobian rings associated to $X$ are free as modules over the Novikov ring. In contrast to previous results of this kind, $X$ need not be compact. When $X$ is monotone the presentation we obtain is completely explicit, using only well-known computations with the standard complex structure.

We consider the problem of testing whether the points in a complex or real variety with non-zero coordinates form a multiplicative group or, more generally, a coset of a multiplicative group. For the coset case, we study the notion of shifted toric varieties which generalizes the notion of toric varieties. This requires a geometric view on the varieties rather than an algebraic view on the ideals. We present algorithms and computations on 129 models from the BioModels repository testing for group and coset structures over both the complex numbers and the real numbers. Our methods over the comp…
We study BPS states of 5d $\mathcal{N}=1$ $SU(2)$ Yang-Mills theory on $S^1\times \mathbb{R}^4$. Geometric engineering relates these to enumerative invariants for the local Hirzebruch surface $\mathbb{F}_0$. We illustrate computations of Vafa-Witten invariants via exponential networks, verifying fiber-base symmetry of the spectrum at certain points in moduli space, and matching with mirror descriptions based on quivers and exceptional collections. Albeit infinite, parts of the spectrum organize in families described by simple algebraic equations. Varying the radius of the M-theory circle inter…
