Using the NSF's Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA), we report six detections of CO(J=1-0) emission and one upper limit in z=2-3 galaxies originally detected in higher-J CO emission in the Atacama Large submillimeter/Millimeter Array (ALMA) Spectroscopic Survey in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (ASPECS). From the CO(J=1-0) line strengths, we measure total cold molecular gas masses of M_gas = 2.4-11.6 x 10^10 (alpha_CO/3.6) Msun. We also measure a median CO(J=3-2) to CO(J=1-0) line brightness temperature ratio of r_31 = 0.84 +/- 0.26, and a CO(J=7-6) to CO(J=1-0) ratio range of r_71 <0.05 to 0.17. These results suggest that CO(J=3-2) selected galaxies may have a higher CO line excitation on average than CO(J=1-0) selected galaxies, based on the limited, currently available samples from the ASPECS and VLA CO Luminosity Density at High Redshift (COLDz) surveys. This implies that previous estimates of the cosmic density of cold gas in galaxies based on CO(J=3-2) measurements should be revised down by a factor of ~=2 on average based on assumptions regarding CO excitation alone. This correction further improves the agreement between the best currently existing constraints on the cold gas density evolution across cosmic history from line scan surveys, and the implied characteristic gas depletion times.
Using the VLA, we recently detected a large number of protoplanetary disk (proplyd) candidates lying within a couple of light years of the massive black hole Sgr A*. The bow-shock appearance of proplyd candidates point toward the young massive stars located near Sgr A*. Similar to Orion proplyds, the strong UV radiation from the cluster of massive stars at the Galactic center is expected to photoevaporate and photoionize the circumstellar disks around young, low mass stars, thus allowing detection of the ionized outflows from the photoionized layer surrounding cool and dense gaseous disks. We present the results of Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA) 108, 233, 352, and 691 GHz continuum observations and Very Large Array (VLA) 4.81 and 8.36 GHz observations of the nearby luminous merger remnant NGC 1614. By analyzing the beam (1".0 * 1".0) and uv (> 45 kλ) matched ALMA and VLA maps, we find that the deconvolved source size of lower frequency emission (< 108 GHz) is more compact (420 pc * 380 pc) compared to the higher frequency emission (> 233 GHz) (560 pc * 390 pc), suggesting different physical origins for the continuum emission. Based on an SED model for a dust…
We present Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) and Atacama Large Millimetre Array (ALMA) observations of SDSS J0924+0219, a z = 1.524 radio-quiet lensed quasar with an intrinsic radio flux density of about 3 micro-Jy. The four lensed images are clearly detected in the radio continuum and the CO(5-4) line, whose centroid is at z = 1.5254 +/- 0.0001, with a marginal detection in the submillimetre continuum. The molecular gas displays ordered motion, in a structure approximately 1--2.5 kpc in physical extent, with typical velocities of 50-100 km/s. Our results are consistent with the radio emis…
ALMA 870$μ$m continuum imaging has uncovered a population of blends of multiple dusty star-forming galaxies (DSFGs) in sources originally detected with the Herschel Space Observatory. However, their pairwise separations are much smaller that what is found by ALMA follow-up of other single-dish surveys or expected from theoretical simulations. Using ALMA and VLA, we have targeted three of these systems to confirm whether the multiple 870$μ$m continuum sources lie at the same redshift, successfully detecting $^{12}$CO($J = 3$-2) and $^{12}$CO($J = 1$-0) lines and being able to confirm that in th…
We present ALMA (0.87~mm and 1.3~mm) and VLA (9~mm) observations toward the candidate intermediate-mass protostar OMC2-FIR3 (HOPS-370; L$_{bol}$~314~L$_{\odot}$) at $\sim$0.1" (40~au) resolution for the continuum emission and ~0.25" (100 au) resolution of nine molecular lines. The dust continuum observed with ALMA at 0.87~mm and 1.3~mm resolve a near edge-on disk toward HOPS-370 with an apparent radius of ~100 au. The VLA observations detect both the disk in dust continuum and free-free emission extended along the jet direction. The ALMA observations of molecular lines (H$_2$CO, SO, CH$_3$OH, …
We present high resolution (~ 30 au) ALMA Band 6 dust polarization observations of VLA 1623. The VLA 1623 data resolve compact ~ 40 au inner disks around the two protobinary sources, VLA 1623-A and VLA 1623-B, and also an extended ~ 180 au ring of dust around VLA 1623-A. This dust ring was previously identified as a large disk in lower-resolution observations. We detect highly structured dust polarization toward the inner disks and the extended ring with typical polarization fractions ~ 1.7% and ~ 2.4%, respectively. The two components also show distinct polarization morphologies. The inner di…
We present ALMA and VLA observations of the molecular and ionized gas at 0.1-0.3 arcsec resolution in the Class 0 protostellar system IRAS 16293-2422. These data clarify the origins of the protostellar outflows from the deeply embedded sources in this complex region. Source A2 is confirmed to be at the origin of the well known large scale north-east--south-west flow. The most recent VLA observations reveal a new ejection from that protostar, demonstrating that it drives an episodic jet. The central compact part of the other known large scale flow in the system, oriented roughly east-west, is w…
We present Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) Ka band (33 GHz) and Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) Band 3 (94.5 GHz) continuum images covering the nucleus and two extranuclear star-forming regions within the nearby galaxy NGC 3627 (M 66), observed as part of the Star Formation in Radio Survey (SFRS). Both images achieve an angular resolution of $\lesssim$2\arcsec, allowing us to map the radio spectral indices and estimate thermal radio fractions at a linear resolution of $\lesssim$90 pc at the distance of NGC 3627. The thermal fraction at 33 GHz reaches unity at and around the peaks o…
We present VLA 9 mm (33 GHz) observations of the HD 141569 system from semester 16A. The observations achieve a resolution of 0.25 arcsec ($\sim28$ au) and a sensitivity of $4.7~μ\rm Jy~beam^{-1}$. We find (1) a $52\pm 5~μ$Jy point source at the location of HD 141569A that shows potential variability, (2) the detected flux is contained within the SED-inferred central clearing of the disc meaning the spectral index of the dust disc is steeper than previously inferred, and (3) the M dwarf companions are also detected and variable. Previous lower-resolution VLA observations (semester 14A) found a…
We present high-sensitivity ($σ_I\sim0.2-0.5$ mJy, $σ_{QU}\sim0.05$ mJy), high-resolution (0.12-0.2 arcsec) observations of polarized 872 $μ$m dust emission from the young multiple system VLA 1623 in $ρ$ Ophiuchus and the protostar L1527 in Taurus. We detect the circumstellar material of VLA 1623A, the extended Keplerian disk surrounding VLA 1623A which we call VLA 1623CBdisk, VLA 1623B, VLA 1623W, and L1527 strongly in the polarized emission, at the $\sim1-3\%$ level. We spatially resolve VLA 1623A into two sources, VLA 1623Aa and VLA 1623Ab, separated by $\sim30$ au and located within a cavi…
The prevalence of substructures in $\sim1-10$ Myr old protoplanetary disks, which are often linked to planet formation, has raised the question of how early such features form, and as a corollary, how early planet formation begins. Here we present observations of seven protostellar disks (aged $\sim0.1-1$ Myr) from the VLA/ALMA Nascent Disk and Multiplicity Survey of Orion Protostars (VANDAM: Orion) that show clear substructures, thereby demonstrating that these features can form early in the lifetimes of disks. We use simple analytic models as well as detailed radiative transfer modeling to c…
In this paper, we extend the source detection in the GOODS-ALMA field (69 arcmin$^2$, rms sensitivity $σ$ $\simeq$ 0.18 mJy.beam$^{-1}$), to deeper levels than presented in Franco et al. (2018). Using positional information at 3.6 and 4.5 $μ$m (from Spitzer-IRAC), we explore the presence of galaxies detected at 1.1 mm with ALMA below our original blind detection limit of 4.8-$σ$ at which the number of spurious sources starts to dominate over that of real sources. In this Supplementary Catalog, we find a total of 16 galaxies, including 2 galaxies with no counterpart in HST images (also known as…
We present the detailed characterization of two extremely red submillimeter galaxies (SMGs), ASXDF1100.053.1 and 231.1, with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the Jansky Very Large Array (VLA). These SMGs were selected originally using AzTEC at 1100 micron, and are observed by Herschel to be faint at 100--500 micron. Their (sub)millimeter colors are as red as -- or redder -- than known z>~5 SMGs; indeed, ASXDF1100.053.1 is redder than HFLS 3, which lies at z=6.3. They are also faint and red in the near-/mid-infrared: ~1 microJy at IRAC 4.5 micron and <0.2 microJy in t…
The protoplanetary disk around Ophiuchus IRS 48 shows an azimuthally asymmetric dust distribution in (sub-)millimeter observations, which is interpreted as a vortex, where millimeter/centimeter-sized particles are trapped at the location of the continuum peak. In this paper, we present 860 $μ$m ALMA observations of polarized dust emission of this disk. The polarized emission was detected toward a part of the disk. The polarization vectors are parallel to the disk minor axis, and the polarization fraction was derived to be $1-2$\%. These characteristics are consistent with models of self-scatte…
We present Markov Chain Monte Carlo radiative transfer modeling of a joint ALMA 345 GHz and spectral energy distribution dataset for a sample of 97 protostellar disks from the VLA and ALMA Nascent Disk and Multiplicity Survey of Orion Protostars. From this modeling, we derive disk and envelope properties for each protostar, allowing us to examine the bulk properties of a population of young protostars. We find that disks are small, with a median dust radius of $ 29.4^{+ 4.1}_{- 2.7}$ au and a median dust mass of $ 5.8^{+ 4.6}_{- 2.7}$ M$_{\oplus}$. We find no statistically significant differen…
We present the results of ALMA observations toward the low-mass Class-0 binary system, VLA 1623Aab in the Ophiuchus molecular cloud in $^{12}$CO, $^{13}$CO, and C$^{18}$O(2--1) lines. Our $^{12}$CO ($J$=2--1) data reveal that the VLA 1623 outflow consists of twin spatially overlapped outflows/jets. The redshifted northwestern jet exhibits the three cycles of wiggle with a spatial period of 1360$\pm$10 au, corresponding to a time period of 180 yr. The wiggle-like structure is also found in the position-velocity (PV) diagram, showing an amplitude in velocity of about 0.9 km s$^{-1}$. Both the pe…
Compared to their centimeter-wavelength counterparts, millimeter recombination lines (RLs) are intrinsically brighter and are free of pressure broadening. We report observations of RLs (H30alpha at 231.9 GHz, H53alpha at 42.9 GHz) and the millimeter and centimeter continuum toward the Becklin-Neugebauer (BN) object in Orion, obtained from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) Science Verification archive and the Very Large Array (VLA). The RL emission appears to be arising from the slowly-moving, dense (Ne=8.4x10^6 cm^-3) base of the ionized envelope around BN. This ionized g…
Extreme outbursts in young stars may be a common stage of pre-main-sequence stellar evolution. These outbursts, caused by enhanced accretion and accompanied by increased luminosity, can also strongly impact the evolution of the circumstellar environment. We present ALMA and VLA observations of EX Lupi, a prototypical outburst system, at 100 GHz, 45 GHz, and 15 GHz. We use these data, along with archival ALMA 232 GHz data, to fit radiative transfer models to EX Lupi's circumstellar disk in its quiescent state following the extreme outburst in 2008. The best fit models show a compact disk with a…
Context: Rotationally supported disks are critical in the star formation process. The questions of when do they form and what factors influence or hinder their formation have been studied but are largely unanswered. Observations of early stage YSOs are needed to probe disk formation. Aims: VLA1623 is a triple non-coeval protostellar system, with a weak magnetic field perpendicular to the outflow, whose Class 0 component, VLA1623A, shows a disk-like structure in continuum with signatures of rotation in line emission. We aim to determine whether this structure is in part or in whole a rotational…
We present Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) observations of multiple protostar systems in the Perseus molecular cloud previously detected by the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA). We observed 17 close ($<$600~AU separation) multiple systems at 1.3~mm in continuum and five molecular lines (i.e., \twco, \cateo, \thco, H$_2$CO, SO) to characterize the circum-multiple environments in which these systems are forming. We detect at least one component in the continuum for the 17 multiple systems. In three systems, one companion is not detected, and for two systems the companion…
Radio and mm-wavelength observations of Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*), the radio source associated with the supermassive black hole at the center of our Galaxy, show that it behaves as a partially self-absorbed synchrotron-emitting source. The measured size of Sgr A* shows that the mm-wavelength emission comes from a small region and consists of the inner accretion flow and a possible collimated outflow. Existing observations of Sgr A* have revealed a time lag between light curves at 43 GHz and 22 GHz, which is consistent with a rapidly expanding plasma flow and supports the presence of a collimated…
In this paper we use ASPECS, the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the {\em Hubble} Ultra Deep Field (UDF) in band 3 and band 6, to place blind constraints on the CO luminosity function and the evolution of the cosmic molecular gas density as a function of redshift up to $z\sim 4.5$. This study is based on galaxies that have been solely selected through their CO emission and not through any other property. In all of the redshift bins the ASPECS measurements reach the predicted `knee' of the CO luminosity function (around $5\times10^{9}$ K km/s pc$^2$). We find clear evidence of an evolution in the …
We present the results of the first, deep ALMA imaging covering the full 4.5 sq arcmin of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF) as previously imaged with WFC3/IR on HST. Using a mosaic of 45 pointings, we have obtained a homogeneous 1.3mm image of the HUDF, achieving an rms sensitivity of 35 microJy, at a resolution of 0.7 arcsec. From an initial list of ~50 >3.5sigma peaks, a rigorous analysis confirms 16 sources with flux densities S(1.3) > 120 microJy. All of these have secure galaxy counterparts with robust redshifts (<z> = 2.15), and 12 are also detected at 6GHz in new deep JVLA imaging. Due…

We have conducted a survey of 328 protostars in the Orion molecular clouds with ALMA at 0.87 mm at a resolution of $\sim$0.1" (40 au), including observations with the VLA at 9 mm toward 148 protostars at a resolution of $\sim$0.08" (32 au). This is the largest multi-wavelength survey of protostars at this resolution by an order of magnitude. We use the dust continuum emission at 0.87 mm and 9 mm to measure the dust disk radii and masses toward the Class 0, Class I, and Flat Spectrum protostars, characterizing the evolution of these disk properties in the protostellar phase. The mean dust disk …
We present the rationale for and the observational description of ASPECS: The ALMA SPECtroscopic Survey in the Hubble Ultra-Deep Field (UDF), the cosmological deep field that has the deepest multi-wavelength data available. Our overarching goal is to obtain an unbiased census of molecular gas and dust continuum emission in high-redshift (z$>$0.5) galaxies. The $\sim$1$'$ region covered within the UDF was chosen to overlap with the deepest available imaging from HST. Our ALMA observations consist of full frequency scans in band 3 (84-115 GHz) and band 6 (212-272 GHz) at approximately uniform li…
To characterize the mechanisms of planet formation it is crucial to investigate the properties and evolution of protoplanetary disks around young stars, where the initial conditions for the growth of planets are set. Our goal is to study grain growth in the disk of the young, intermediate mass star HD163296 where dust processing has already been observed, and to look for evidence of growth by ice condensation across the CO snowline, already identified in this disk with ALMA. Under the hypothesis of optically thin emission we compare images at different wavelengths from ALMA and VLA to measure …
We present an analysis of a deep (1$σ$=13 $μ$Jy) cosmological 1.2-mm continuum map based on ASPECS, the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field. In the 1 arcmin$^2$ covered by ASPECS we detect nine sources at $>3.5σ$ significance at 1.2-mm. Our ALMA--selected sample has a median redshift of $z=1.6\pm0.4$, with only one galaxy detected at z$>$2 within the survey area. This value is significantly lower than that found in millimeter samples selected at a higher flux density cut-off and similar frequencies. Most galaxies have specific star formation rates similar to that of main s…
We report Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) and Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) spectroscopy in the redshifted molecular oxygen (O$_2$) 56.265~GHz and 424.763~GHz transitions from the $z=0.88582$ gravitational lens towards PKS\,1830$-$21. The ALMA non-detection of O$_2$ 424.763~GHz absorption yields the $3σ$ upper limit $N({\rm O}_2) \leq 5.8 \times 10^{17}$~cm$^{-2}$ on the O$_2$ column density, assuming that the O$_2$ level populations are thermalized at the gas kinetic temperature of 80~K. The VLA spectrum shows absorption by the CH$_3$CHO 56.185~GHz and 56.265~GHz lines, with the…

We present direct estimates of the mean sky brightness temperature in observing bands around 99GHz and 242GHz due to line emission from distant galaxies. These values are calculated from the summed line emission observed in a blind, deep survey for specrtal line emission from high redshift galaxies using ALMA (the 'ASPECS' survey). In the 99 GHz band, the mean brightness will be dominated by rotational transitions of CO from intermediate and high redshift galaxies. In the 242GHz band, the emission could be a combination of higher order CO lines, and possibly [CII] 158$μ$m line emission from ve…
VLA 1623$-$2417 is a triple protostellar system deeply embedded in Ophiuchus A. Sources A and B have a separation of 1.1", making their study difficult beyond the submillimeter regime. Lack of circumstellar gas emission suggested that VLA 1623$-$2417 B has a very cold envelope and is much younger than source A, generally considered the prototypical Class 0 source. We explore the consequences of new ALMA Band 9 data on the spectral energy distribution (SED) of VLA 1623$-$2417 and their inferred nature. Using dust continuum observations spanning from centimeter to near-infrared wavelengths, the …
We present the results of a new study of the relationship between infrared excess (IRX), UV spectral slope (beta) and stellar mass at redshifts 2<z<3, based on a deep Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) 1.3-mm continuum mosaic of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF). Excluding the most heavily-obscured sources, we use a stacking analysis to show that z~2.5 star-forming galaxies in the mass range 9.25 <= log(M/Msun) <= 10.75 are fully consistent with the IRX-beta relation expected for a relatively grey attenuation curve, similar to the commonly adopted Calzetti law. Based on a large, mass compl…
We study the molecular gas properties of high-$z$ galaxies observed in the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey (ASPECS) that targets a $\sim1$ arcmin$^2$ region in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (UDF), a blind survey of CO emission (tracing molecular gas) in the 3mm and 1mm bands. Of a total of 1302 galaxies in the field, 56 have spectroscopic redshifts and correspondingly well-defined physical properties. Among these, 11 have infrared luminosities $L_{\rm{}IR}>10^{11}$ L$_\odot$, i.e. a detection in CO emission was expected. Out these, 7 are detected at various significance in CO, and 4 are undetected in …
We analyze the interstellar medium properties of a sample of sixteen bright CO line emitting galaxies identified in the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (ASPECS) Large Program. This CO$-$selected galaxy sample is complemented by a couple of additional CO line emitters in the UDF that are identified based on their MUSE optical spectroscopic redshifts. The ASPECS CO$-$selected galaxies cover a larger range of star-formation rates and stellar masses compared to literature CO emitting galaxies at $z>1$ for which scaling relations have been established previously. Most of AS…
We present a search for [CII] line and dust continuum emission from optical dropout galaxies at $z>6$ using ASPECS, our ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the Hubble Ultra-Deep Field (UDF). Our observations, which cover the frequency range $212-272$ GHz, encompass approximately the range $6<z<8$ for [CII] line emission and reach a limiting luminosity of L$_{\rm [CII]}\sim$(1.6-2.5)$\times$10$^{8}$ L$_{\odot}$. We identify fourteen [CII] line emitting candidates in this redshift range with significances $>$4.5 $σ$, two of which correspond to blind detections with no optical counterparts. At this sign…
We characterize protostellar multiplicity in the Orion molecular clouds using ALMA 0.87~mm and VLA 9~mm continuum surveys toward 328 protostars. These observations are sensitive to projected spatial separations as small as $\sim$20~au, and we consider source separations up to 10$^4$~au as potential companions. The overall multiplicity fraction (MF) and companion fraction (CF) for the Orion protostars are 0.30$\pm$0.03 and 0.44$\pm$0.03, respectively, considering separations from 20 to 10$^4$~au. The MFs and CFs are corrected for potential contamination by unassociated young stars using a proba…
We present Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) K-band (19 GHz) observations of the redshifted CO(1-0) line emission toward the radio galaxy TN J0924$-$2201 at $z=5.2$, which is one of the most distant CO-detected radio galaxies. With the angular resolution of $\sim2''$, the CO(1-0) line emission is resolved into three clumps, within $\pm500$ km\,s$^{-1}$ relative to its redshift, where is determined by Ly$α$. We find that they locate off-center and 12-33 kpc away from the center of the host galaxy, which has counterparts in $HST$ $i$-band, $Spitzer$/IRAC and ALMA Band-6 (230 GHz; 1.3 mm). Wi…
Using the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA), we observed the Extended Green Object (EGO) G19.01$-$0.03 with sub-arcsecond resolution from 1.05 mm to 5.01 cm wavelengths. Our $\sim0.4''\sim1600$ AU angular resolution ALMA observations reveal a velocity gradient across the millimetre core MM1, oriented perpendicular to the previously known bipolar molecular outflow, that is consistently traced by 20 lines of 8 molecular species with a range of excitation temperatures, including complex organic molecules (COMs). Kinematic modelling s…
The Hubble Frontier Fields offer an exceptionally deep window into the high-redshift universe, covering a substantially larger area than the Hubble Ultra-Deep field at low magnification and probing 1--2 mags deeper in exceptional high-magnification regions. We aim to leverage Atacama Large Millimetre Array (ALMA) band 6 ($\approx$263\,GHz) mosaics in the central portions of five Frontier Fields to characterize the infrared (IR) properties of $1582$ ultraviolet (UV)-selected Lyman-Break Galaxies (LBGs) at redshifts of $z {\sim}$2--8. We investigated individual and stacked fluxes and IR excess (…
We present ALMA (0.87~mm) and VLA (9~mm) observations toward OMC2-FIR4 and OMC2-FIR3 within the Orion integral-shaped filament that are thought to be the nearest regions of intermediate mass star formation. We characterize the continuum sources within these regions on $\sim$40~AU (0\farcs1) scales and associated molecular line emission at a factor of $\sim$30 better resolution than previous observations at similar wavelengths. We identify six compact continuum sources within OMC2-FIR4, four in OMC2-FIR3, and one additional source just outside OMC2-FIR4. This continuum emission is tracing the i…
We present $\simeq$0$.\!\!^{\prime\prime}4$-resolution extinction-independent distributions of star formation and dust in 11 star-forming galaxies (SFGs) at $z = 1.3-3.0$. These galaxies are selected from sensitive, blank-field surveys of the $2' \times 2'$ Hubble Ultra-Deep Field at $λ= 5$ cm and 1.3 mm using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) and Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). They have star-formation rates (SFRs), stellar masses, and dust properties representative of massive main-sequence SFGs at $z \sim 2$. Morphological classification performed on spatially-re…
This White Paper proposes a unique milli-Jansky sensitive arcsecond resolution VLA 15 GHz (Ku band) continuum polarization imaging survey of the Galactic plane using C array configuration. The science driver is to fill the gap between previous lower frequency VLA Galactic plane surveys, mainly detecting synchrotron radio emission at 1.4 and 5 GHz, and the higher frequency (future ALMA and present MSX, SPITZER, PLANCK, WISE) 0.1-100 THz infrared surveys that detect thermal radiation. The 15 GHz band appears to be the highest frequency at which such a survey is both feasible and maximally unique…
We present a characterization of the physical properties of a sample of 35 securely-detected, dusty galaxies in the deep ALMA 1.2-mm image obtained as part of the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the {\it Hubble} Ultra Deep Field (ASPECS) Large Program. This sample is complemented by 26 additional sources identified via an optical/infrared source positional prior. Using their well-characterized spectral energy distributions, we derive median stellar masses and star formation rates (SFR) of $4.8\times10^{10}~M_\odot$ and 30 $M_\odot$ yr$^{-1}$, and interquartile ranges of $(2.4-11.7)\times10^{10}~M…
Thanks to deep optical to near-IR imaging and spectroscopy, significant progress is made in characterizing the rest-frame UV to optical properties of galaxies in the early universe (z > 4). Surveys with Hubble, Spitzer, and ground-based facilities (Keck, Subaru, and VLT) provide spectroscopic and photometric redshifts, measurements of the spatial structure, stellar masses, and optical emission lines for large samples of galaxies. Recently, the Atacama Large (Sub) Millimeter Array (ALMA) has become a major player in pushing studies of high redshift galaxies to far-infrared wavelengths, hence ma…
The first long-baseline ALMA campaign resolved the disk around the young star HL Tau into a number of axisymmetric bright and dark rings. Despite the very young age of HL Tau these structures have been interpreted as signatures for the presence of (proto)planets. The ALMA images triggered numerous theoretical studies based on disk-planet interactions, magnetically driven disk structures, and grain evolution. Of special interest are the inner parts of disks, where terrestrial planets are expected to form. However, the emission from these regions in HL Tau turned out to be optically thick at all…
We present the results from ALMA observations centred $40^{\prime\prime}$ (3 kpc in projection) southeast of the nucleus of M87. We report the detection of extended CO (2-1) line emission with a total flux of $(5.5 \pm 0.6) \times 10^{-18}$ erg s$^{-1}$ cm$^{-2}$ and corresponding molecular gas mass $M_{H_2}=(4.7 \pm 0.4) \times 10^5 M_\odot$, assuming a Galactic CO to H$_2$ conversion factor. ALMA data indicate a line-of-sight velocity of $-129\pm3$ km s$^{-1}$, in good agreement with measurements based on the [CII] and H$α$+[NII] lines, and a velocity dispersion of $σ=27\pm3$ km s$^{-1}$. Th…
We present a set of multi-wavelength mosaics and photometric catalogs in the ALMA lensing cluster survey (ALCS) fields. The catalogs were built by reprocessing of archival data from the CHArGE compilation, taken by the $\textit{Hubble Space Telescope}$ ($\textit{HST}$) in the RELICS, CLASH and Hubble Frontier Fields. Additionally we have reconstructed the $\textit{Spitzer}$ IRAC 3.6 and 4.5 $μ$m mosaics, by utilising all the available archival IRSA/SHA exposures. To alleviate the effect of blending in such a crowded region, we have modelled the $\textit{Spitzer}$ photometry by convolving the $…
