We review the bootstrap method for constructing six- and seven-particle amplitudes in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory, by exploiting their analytic structure. We focus on two recently discovered properties which greatly simplify this construction at symbol and function level, respectively: the extended Steinmann relations, or equivalently cluster adjacency, and the coaction principle. We then demonstrate their power in determining the six-particle amplitude through six and seven loops in the NMHV and MHV sectors respectively, as well as the symbol of the NMHV seven-particle amplitude to four loops.
We reformulate the heptagon cluster bootstrap to take advantage of the Steinmann relations, which require certain double discontinuities of any amplitude to vanish. These constraints vastly reduce the number of functions needed to bootstrap seven-point amplitudes in planar $\mathcal{N} = 4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, making higher-loop contributions to these amplitudes more computationally accessible. In particular, dual superconformal symmetry and well-defined collinear limits suffice to determine uniquely the symbols of the three-loop NMHV and four-loop MHV seven-point amplitudes. We …
The analytic structure of scattering amplitudes is restricted by Steinmann relations, which enforce the vanishing of certain discontinuities of discontinuities. We show that these relations dramatically simplify the function space for the hexagon function bootstrap in planar maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. Armed with this simplification, along with the constraints of dual conformal symmetry and Regge exponentiation, we obtain the complete five-loop six-particle amplitude.
We describe the minimal space of polylogarithmic functions that is required to express the six-particle amplitude in planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory through six and seven loops, in the NMHV and MHV sectors respectively. This space respects a set of extended Steinmann relations that restrict the iterated discontinuity structure of the amplitude, as well as a cosmic Galois coaction principle that constrains the functions and the transcendental numbers that can appear in the amplitude at special kinematic points. To put the amplitude into this space, we must divide it by the BDS-like …
We comment on the status of "Steinmann-like" constraints, i.e. all-loop constraints on consecutive entries of the symbol of scattering amplitudes and Feynman integrals in planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills, which have been crucial for the recent progress of the bootstrap program. Based on physical discontinuities and Steinmann relations, we first summarize all possible double discontinuities (or first-two-entries) for (the symbol of) amplitudes and integrals in terms of dilogarithms, generalizing well-known results for $n=6,7$ to all multiplicities. As our main result, we find that extended-…
We compute all $2\to5$ gluon scattering amplitudes in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory in the multi-Regge limit that is sensitive to the non-trivial ("long") Regge cut. We provide the amplitudes through four loops and to all logarithmic accuracy at leading power, in terms of single-valued multiple polylogarithms of two variables. To obtain these results, we leverage the function-level results for the amplitudes in the Steinmann cluster bootstrap. To high powers in the series expansion in the two variables, our results agree with the recently conjectured all-order central emission…
We bootstrap the three-point form factor of the chiral part of the stress-tensor supermultiplet in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory, obtaining new results at three, four, and five loops. Our construction employs known conditions on the first, second, and final entries of the symbol, combined with new multiple-final-entry conditions, ``extended-Steinmann-like'' conditions, and near-collinear data from the recently-developed form factor operator product expansion. Our results are expected to give the maximally transcendental parts of the $gg\to Hg$ and $H\to ggg$ amplitudes in the …
We argue that the Sklyanin Poisson bracket on Gr(4,n) can be used to efficiently test whether an amplitude in planar ${\cal{N}}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory satisfies cluster adjacency. We use this test to show that cluster adjacency is satisfied by all one- and two-loop MHV amplitudes in this theory, once suitably regulated. Using this technique we also demonstrate that cluster adjacency implies the extended Steinmann relations at all particle multiplicities.
We study cluster adjacency conjectures for amplitudes in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. We show that the n-point one-loop NMHV ratio function satisfies Steinmann cluster adjacency. We also show that the one-loop BDS-like normalized NMHV amplitude satisfies cluster adjacency between Yangian invariants and final symbol entries up to 9-points. We present conjectures for cluster adjacency properties of Plücker coordinates, quadratic cluster variables, and NMHV Yangian invariants that generalize the notion of weak separation.

We conjecture a new set of analytic relations for scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. They generalise the Steinmann relations and are expressed in terms of the cluster algebras associated to Gr(4,n). In terms of the symbol, they dictate which letters can appear consecutively. We study heptagon amplitudes and integrals in detail and present symbols for previously unknown integrals at two and three loops which support our conjecture.
Seven-point amplitudes in planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory have previously been constructed through four loops using the Steinmann cluster bootstrap, but only at the level of the symbol. We promote these symbols to actual functions, by specifying their first derivatives and boundary conditions on a particular two-dimensional surface. To do this, we impose branch-cut conditions and construct the entire heptagon function space through weight six. We plot the amplitudes on a few lines in the bulk Euclidean region, and explore the properties of the heptagon function space under the coac…
We combine supersymmetric localization results with numerical bootstrap techniques to compute upper bounds on the low-lying CFT data of ${\cal N} = 4$ super-Yang-Mills theory as a function of the complexified gauge coupling $τ$. In particular, from the stress tensor multiplet four-point function, we extract the scaling dimension of the lowest-lying unprotected scalar operator and its OPE coefficient. While our method can be applied in principle to any gauge group $G$, we focus on $G = SU(2)$ and $SU(3)$ for simplicity. At weak coupling, the upper bounds we find are very close to the correspond…
We describe the hexagon function bootstrap for solving for six-gluon scattering amplitudes in the large $N_c$ limit of ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. In this method, an ansatz for the finite part of these amplitudes is constrained at the level of amplitudes, not integrands, using boundary information. In the near-collinear limit, the dual picture of the amplitudes as Wilson loops leads to an operator product expansion which has been solved using integrability by Basso, Sever and Vieira. Factorization of the amplitudes in the multi-Regge limit provides additional boundary data. This boot…
We construct the complete (planar and non-planar) integrand for the six-loop four-point amplitude in maximal $D\le10$ super-Yang-Mills. This construction employs new advances that combat the proliferation of diagram contributions and state sums when evaluating multi-loop $D$-dimensional unitarity cuts. Concretely, we introduce two graph-based approaches to evaluating generalized unitarity cuts in $D$ dimensions: 1) recursively from lower-loop cuts, or 2) directly from known higher-loop planar cuts. Neither method relies on explicit state sums or any sewing of tree-level amplitudes. These metho…
We perform a numerical bootstrap study of the mixed correlator system containing the half-BPS operators of dimension two and three in $\mathcal N = 4$ Super Yang-Mills. This setup improves on previous works in the literature that only considered single correlators of one or the other operator. We obtain upper bounds on the leading twist in a given representation of the R-symmetry by imposing gaps on the twist of all operators rather than the dimension of a single one. As a result we find a tension between the large $N$ supergravity predictions and the numerical finite $N$ results already at $N…
We study two-point functions of single-trace half-BPS operators in the presence of a supersymmetric Wilson line in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM. We use inversion formula technology in order to reconstruct the CFT data starting from a single discontinuity of the correlator. In the planar strong coupling limit only a finite number of conformal blocks contributes to the discontinuity, which allows us to obtain elegant closed-form expressions for two-point functions of single-trace operators $\mathcal{O}_J$ of weight $J=2,3,4$. Our final result passes a number of non-trivial consistency checks: it has the …
We use modern bootstrap techniques to study half-BPS line defects in 4d N=4 superconformal theories. Specifically, we consider the 1d CFT with OSP(4*|4) superconformal symmetry living on such a defect. Our analysis is general and based only on symmetries, it includes however important examples like Wilson and 't Hooft lines in N=4 super Yang-Mills. We present several numerical bounds on OPE coefficients and conformal dimensions. Of particular interest is a numerical island obtained from a mixed correlator bootstrap that seems to imply a unique solution to crossing. The island is obtained if so…
Infrared divergences in scattering amplitudes arise when a loop momentum $\ell$ becomes collinear with a massless external momentum $p$. In gauge theories, it is known that the L-loop logarithm of a planar amplitude has much softer infrared singularities than the L-loop amplitude itself. We argue that planar amplitudes in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory enjoy softer than expected behavior as $\ell \parallel p$ already at the level of the integrand. Moreover, we conjecture that the four-point integrand can be uniquely determined, to any loop-order, by imposing the correct soft-behavior of the logar…
We apply a bootstrap procedure to two-loop MHV amplitudes in planar N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. We argue that the mathematically most complicated part (the $Λ^2 B_2$ coproduct component) of the n-particle amplitude is uniquely determined by a simple cluster algebra property together with a few physical constraints (dihedral symmetry, analytic structure, supersymmetry, and well-defined collinear limits). We present a concise, closed-form expression which manifests these properties for all n.
We present the full form of a four-point correlation function of large BPS operators in planar N = 4 Super Yang-Mills to any loop order. We do this by following a bootstrap philosophy based on three simple axioms pertaining to (i) the space of functions arising at each loop order, (ii) the behaviour in the OPE in a double-trace dominated channel and (iii) the behaviour under a double null limit. We discuss how these bootstrap axioms are in turn strongly motivated by empirical observations up to nine loops unveiled through integrability methods in our previous work [9] on this simplest correlat…
In this letter we study how the exact non-perturbative integrability methods in 4D N=4 Super-Yang-Mills can work efficiently together with the numerical conformal bootstrap techniques to go beyond the spectral observables and access previously unreachable quantities such as correlation functions at finite coupling. In the setup of 1D defect CFT living on a Maldacena-Wilson line, we managed to compute with good precision a non-supersymmetric structure constant for a wide range of the `t Hooft coupling. Our result is particularly precise at strong coupling and matches well with the recent analyt…
We compute the six-particle maximally-helicity-violating (MHV) and next-to-MHV (NMHV) amplitudes in planar maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory through seven loops and six loops, respectively, as an application of the extended Steinmann relations and using the cosmic Galois coaction principle. Starting from a minimal space of functions constructed using these principles, we identify the amplitude by matching its symmetries and predicted behavior in various kinematic limits. Through five loops, the MHV and NMHV amplitudes are uniquely determined using only the multi-Regge and leading coll…
We apply the analytic conformal bootstrap method to study weakly coupled conformal gauge theories in four dimensions. We employ twist conformal blocks to find the most general form of the one-loop four-point correlation function of identical scalar operators, without any reference to Feynman calculations. The method relies only on symmetries of the model. In particular, it does not require introducing any regularisation and it is free from the redundancies usually associated with the Feynman approach. By supplementing the general solution with known data for a small number of operators, we rec…
The proof of the multi-Regge form of multiple production amplitudes in the next-to-leading logarithmic approximation is presented for Yang-Mills theories with fermions and scalars in any representations of the colour group and with any Yukawa-type interaction. Explicit expressions for the Reggeized gauge boson trajectory, the Reggeon vertices and the impact factors are given. Fulfilment of the bootstrap conditions is proved.
We introduce two new graphical-level relations among possible contributions to the four-point correlation function and scattering amplitude in planar, maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. When combined with the rung rule, these prove powerful enough to fully determine both functions through ten loops. This then also yields the full five-point amplitude to eight loops and the parity-even part to nine loops. We derive these rules, illustrate their applications, compare their relative strengths for fixing coefficients, and survey some of the features of the previously unknown nine and ten …
Seven-particle scattering amplitudes in planar super-Yang-Mills theory are believed to belong to a special class of generalised polylogarithm functions called heptagon functions. These are functions with physical branch cuts whose symbols may be written in terms of the 42 cluster A-coordinates on Gr(4,7). Motivated by the success of the hexagon bootstrap programme for constructing six-particle amplitudes we initiate the systematic study of the symbols of heptagon functions. We find that there is exactly one such symbol of weight six which satisfies the MHV last-entry condition and is finite in…
We derive analytic results for the symbol of certain two-loop Feynman integrals relevant for seven- and eight-point two-loop scattering amplitudes in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang--Mills theory. We use a bootstrap inspired strategy, combined with a set of second-order partial differential equations that provide powerful constraints on the symbol ansatz. When the complete symbol alphabet is not available, we adopt a hybrid approach. Instead of the full function, we bootstrap a certain discontinuity for which the alphabet is known. Then we write a one-fold dispersion integral to recover the …
Multi-loop scattering amplitudes/null polygonal Wilson loops in ${\mathcal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills are known to simplify significantly in reduced kinematics, where external legs/edges lie in an $1+1$ dimensional subspace of Minkowski spacetime (or boundary of the $\rm AdS_3$ subspace). Since the edges of a $2n$-gon with even and odd labels go along two different null directions, the kinematics is reduced to two copies of $G(2,n)/T \sim A_{n{-}3}$. In the simplest octagon case, we conjecture that all loop amplitudes and Feynman integrals are given in terms of two overlapping $A_2$ functions (a s…
We initiate the study of cluster algebras in Feynman integrals in dimensional regularization. We provide evidence that four-point Feynman integrals with one off-shell leg are described by a $C_{2}$ cluster algebra, and we find cluster adjacency relations that restrict the allowed function space. By embedding $C_{2}$ inside the $A_3$ cluster algebra, we identify these adjacencies with the extended Steinmann relations for six-particle massless scattering. The cluster algebra connection we find restricts the functions space for vector boson or Higgs plus jet amplitudes, and for form factors recen…
We consider the hexagonal Wilson loop dual to the six-point MHV amplitude in planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. We apply constraints from the operator product expansion in the near-collinear limit to the symbol of the remainder function at three loops. Using these constraints, and assuming a natural ansatz for the symbol's entries, we determine the symbol up to just two undetermined constants. In the multi-Regge limit, both constants drop out from the symbol, enabling us to make a non-trivial confirmation of the BFKL prediction for the leading-log approximation. This result provides a strong …

We extend the hexagon function bootstrap to the next-to-maximally-helicity-violating (NMHV) configuration for six-point scattering in planar ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory at three loops. Constraints from the $\bar{Q}$ differential equation, from the operator product expansion (OPE) for Wilson loops with operator insertions, and from multi-Regge factorization, lead to a unique answer for the three-loop ratio function. The three-loop result also predicts additional terms in the OPE expansion, as well as the behavior of NMHV amplitudes in the multi-Regge limit at one higher logarithmic acc…
We extend on-shell bootstrap methods from spacetime amplitudes to the worldsheet objects of the CHY formalism. We find that the integrands corresponding to tree-level non-linear sigma model, Yang-Mills and $(DF)^2$ theory are determined by demanding enhanced UV scaling under BCFW shifts. Back in spacetime, we also find that $(DF)^2$ theory is fixed by gauge invariance/UV scaling and simple locality assumptions.
In this thesis, we study the integrands of a special four-point correlation function formed of protected half-BPS operators and scattering amplitudes in planar supersymmetric $\mathcal{N}=4$ Yang-Mills. We use the `soft-collinear bootstrap' method to construct integrands of the aforementioned correlator and four-point scattering amplitudes to eight loops. The result is then extended to ten loops, by introducing two graphical relations, called the `triangle' and `pentagon' rules. These relations provide consistency conditions on the coefficients, and when combined with the `square' rule, prove …
