We introduce in this paper a strategy to prove gradient estimates for some infinite-dimensional diffusions on $L_2$-Wasserstein spaces. For a specific example of a diffusion on the $L_2$-Wasserstein space of the torus, we get a Bismut-Elworthy-Li formula up to a remainder term and deduce a gradient estimate with a rate of blow-up of order $\mathcal{O}(t^{-(2+ε)})$.
In this work, we will show the existence, uniqueness, and weak differentiability of the solution to semi-linear mean-field stochastic differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motion. We prove an extension of the Bismut-Elworthy-Li formula and show some applications in the sensitivity analysis of variance swaps and also the price of derivatives with respect to the initial point.
In this paper, we show the existence of unique Malliavin differentiable solutions to SDE`s driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H<1/2 and singular, unbounded drift vector fields, for which we also prove a stability result. Further, using the latter results, we propose a stock price model with rough and correlated volatility, which also allows for capturing regime switching effects. Finally, we also derive a Bismut-Elworthy-Li formula with respect to our stock price model for certain classes of vector fields.
In this article we are interested in the differentiability property of the Markovian semi-group corresponding to the Bessel processes of nonnegative dimension. More precisely, for all $δ\geq 0$ and $T>0$, we compute the derivative of the function $x \mapsto P^δ_{T} F (x) $, where $(P^δ_{t})_{t \geq 0}$ is the transition semi-group associated to the $δ$ - dimensional Bessel process, and $F$ is any bounded Borel function on $\mathbb{R}_{+}$. The obtained expression shows a nice interplay between the transition semi-groups of the $δ$ - and the $(δ+ 2)$-dimensional Bessel processes. As a consequen…
In this paper we derive a Bismut-Elworthy-Li type formula with respect to strong solutions to singular stochastic differential equations (SDE's) with additive noise given by a multi-dimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H<1/2$. "Singular" here means that the drift vector field of such equations is allowed to be merely bounded and integrable. As an application we use this representation formula for the study of price sensitivities of financial claims based on a stock price model with stochastic volatility, whose dynamics is described by means of fractional Brownian motion…
We consider a Backward Stochastic Differential Equation (BSDE for short) in a Markovian framework for the pair of processes $(Y,Z)$, with generator with quadratic growth with respect to $Z$. The forward equation is an evolution equation in an abstract Banach space. We prove an analogue of the Bismut-Elworty formula when the diffusion operator has a pseudo-inverse not necessarily bounded and when the generator has quadratic growth with respect to $Z$. In particular, our model covers the case of the heat equation in space dimension greater than or equal to 2. We apply these results to solve semi…
Stein's method has been widely used for probability approximations. However, in the multi-dimensional setting, most of the results are for multivariate normal approximation or for test functions with bounded second- or higher-order derivatives. For a class of multivariate limiting distributions, we use Bismut's formula in Malliavin calculus to control the derivatives of the Stein equation solutions by the first derivative of the test function. Combined with Stein's exchangeable pair approach, we obtain a general theorem for multivariate approximations with near optimal error bounds on the Wass…
We prove that if the Ricci tensor $\mathrm{Ric}$ of a geodesically complete Riemannian manifold $M$, endowed with the Riemannian distance $\mathsf{d}$ and the Riemannian measure $\mathfrak{m}$, is bounded from below by a continuous function $k\colon M\to\mathbb{R}$ whose negative part $k^-$ satisfies, for every $t>0$, the exponential integrability condition \begin{equation*} \sup_{x\in M} \mathbb{E}\big[\mathrm{e}^{\int_0^t k^-(\mathsf{b}_r^x)/2\,\mathrm{d} r}\,1_{\{t < ζ^x\}}\big] < \infty, \end{equation*} then the lifetime $ζ^x$ of Brownian motion $\mathsf{b}^x$ on $M$ starting in any $x\in …
We prove gradient estimates for transition Markov semigroups $(P_t)$ associated to SDEs driven by multiplicative Brownian noise having possibly unbounded $C^1$-coefficients, without requiring any monotonicity type condition. In particular, first derivatives of coefficients can grow polynomially and even exponentially. We establish pointwise estimates with weights for $D_x P_tφ$ of the form \[ {\sqrt{t}} \, |D_x P_t φ(x) | \le c \, (1+ |x|^k) \, \| φ\|_{\infty} \] $t \in (0,1]$, $φ\in C_b ({\mathbb R}^d)$, $x \in {\mathbb R}^d.$ To prove the result we use two main tools. First, we consider a Fe…
