The paper investigates properties of generalized Hermite-type processes that arise in non-central limit theorems for integral functionals of long-range dependent random fields. The case of increasing multidimensional domain asymptotics is studied. Three approaches to investigate properties of these processes are discussed. Contrary to the classical one-dimensional case, it is shown that for any choice of a multidimensional observation window the generalized Hermite-type process has non-stationary increments.
In this work, we introduce a new process by modifying the kernel in the time domain representation of the generalized Hermite process. This modification is constructed by means of multiplication of the kernel in the time definition of the process by an exponential tempering factor λ > 0 such that this new process is well defined. Several properties of the process are studied and an application to non-parametric regression is also given.
Using the theory of generalized Weierstrass transform, we show that the Hermite rank is identical to the power rank in the Gaussian case, and that an Hermite rank higher than one is unstable with respect to a level shift.
We study generalized Hermite polynomials with rectangular matrix arguments arising in multivariate statistical analysis and the theory of zonal polynomials. We show that these are well-suited for expressing the Wiener-Ito chaos expansion of functionals of the spectral measure associated with Gaussian matrices. In particular, we obtain the Wiener chaos expansion of Gaussian determinants of the form $\det(XX^T)^{1/2}$ and prove that, in the setting where the rows of $X$ are i.i.d. centred Gaussian vectors with a given covariance matrix, its projection coefficients admit a geometric interpretatio…
We investigate the global density of zeros of generalized Hermite orthogonal polynomials, subject to certain truncated conditions on its weight. We shall given explicitly the global density of zeros under some asymptotic conditions on the weight. Moreover we compute the asymptotic of the total energy of the equilibrium position of the system of $n$ movable unit charges in an external field determined by the weight of the generalized Hermite polynomials. We will see that for finite $n$ the energy is in direct relationship with the zeros of the orthogonal polynomials.
In this work we introduce a new algebra of tempered generalized functions. The tempered distributions are embedded in this algebra via their Hermite expansions. The Fourier transform is naturally extended to this algebra in such a way that the usual relations involving multiplication, convolution and differentiation are valid. We study the elementary properties of the association, embedding, point values and Fourier transform. Furthermore, we give a generalized Ito formula in this context and some applications to stochastic analysis.
Wavelet-type random series representations of the well-known Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) and many other related stochastic processes and fields have started to be introduced since more than two decades. Such representations provide natural frameworks for approximating almost surely and uniformly rough sample paths at different scales and for study of various aspects of their complex erratic behavior. Hermite process of an arbitrary integer order $d$, which extends FBM, is a paradigmatic example of a stochastic process belonging to the $d$th Wiener chaos. It was introduced very long time a…
We introduce a broad class of self-similar processes $\{Z(t),t\ge 0\}$ called generalized Hermite process. They have stationary increments, are defined on a Wiener chaos with Hurst index $H\in (1/2,1)$, and include Hermite processes as a special case. They are defined through a homogeneous kernel $g$, called "generalized Hermite kernel", which replaces the product of power functions in the definition of Hermite processes. The generalized Hermite kernels $g$ can also be used to generate long-range dependent stationary sequences forming a discrete chaos process $\{X(n)\}$. In addition, we consid…
A new proof of the expansion of iterated Ito stochastic integrals with respect to the components of a multidimensional Wiener process based on generalized multiple Fourier series and Hermite polynomials
Let $Y=(Y(t))_{t\geq0}$ be a zero-mean Gaussian stationary process with covariance function $ρ:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ satisfying $ρ(0)=1$. Let $f:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ be a square-integrable function with respect to the standard Gaussian measure, and suppose the Hermite rank of $f$ is $d\geq 1$. If $\int_\mathbb{R} |ρ(s)|^dds<\infty$, then the celebrated Breuer-Major theorem (in its continuous version) asserts that the finite-dimensional distributions of $Z_\varepsilon:=\sqrt{\varepsilon}\int_0^{\cdot/\varepsilon}f(Y(s))ds$ converge to those of $σW$ as $\varepsilon\to 0$, where $W$ is a s…
We prove functional central and non-central limit theorems for generalized variations of the anisotropic $d$-parameter fractional Brownian sheet (fBs) for any natural number $d$. Whether the central or the non-central limit theorem applies depends on the Hermite rank of the variation functional and on the smallest component of the Hurst parameter vector of the fBs. The limiting process in the former result is another fBs, independent of the original fBs, whereas the limit given by the latter result is an Hermite sheet, which is driven by the same white noise as the original fBs. As an applicat…
The Bivariate Dynamic Contagion Processes (BDCP) are a broad class of bivariate point processes characterized by the intensities as a general class of piecewise deterministic Markov processes. The BDCP describes a rich dynamic structure where the system is under the influence of both external and internal factors modelled by a shot-noise Cox process and a generalized Hawkes process respectively. In this paper we mainly address the stationarity issue for the BDCP, which is important in applications. We investigate the stationary distribution by applying the the Markov theory on the branching sy…
We show that various identities from [1] and [3] involving Gould-Hopper polynomials can be deduced from the real but also complex orthogonal invariance of multivariate Gaussian distributions. We also deduce from this principle a useful stochastic representation for the inner product of two non-centered Gaussian vectors and two non-centered Gaussian matrices. [1] J. Daboul, S. S. Universality properties of the distribution of the generalized eigenvalues of a pencil of random Hankel matrices, arising in the solution of the exponential interpolation problem of a complex discrete stationary process, are proved under the assumption that every finite set of random variables of the process have a multivariate spherical distribution. An integral representation of the condensed density of the generalized eigenvalues is also derived. The asymptotic behavior of this function turns out to depend only on stationarity and not on the specific distribution of the process.
The maximum composite likelihood estimator for parametric models of determinantal point processes (DPPs) is discussed. Since the joint intensities of these point processes are given by determinant of positive definite kernels, we have the explicit form of the joint intensities for every order. This fact enables us to consider the generalized maximum composite likelihood estimator for any order. This paper introduces the two step generalized composite likelihood estimator and shows the moment convergence of the estimator under a stationarity. Moreover, our results can yield information criteria…
