We consider a non-supersymmetric $E_6$ Grand Unified Theory (GUT) with intermediate trinification symmetry $SU(3)_C \times SU(3)_L \times SU(3)_R \times D$ (D denoted as D-parity for discrete left-right symmetry) and study the effect of one-loop threshold corrections arising due to every class of superheavy particles (scalars, fermions and vectors). It is observed that, the intermediate mass scale $M_I$ and $\sin^2θ_W$ remain unaffected by GUT threshold contributions. The threshold modified unification mass scale $M_U$ is in excellent agreement with the present experimental proton decay constraint. The novel feature of the model is that GUT threshold uncertainty of $M_U$ is found to be controlled by superheavy scalars only, leading to a very predictive scenario for proton decay, which can be verifiable within the foreseeable experiments.
We study an example of Grand Unified Theory (GUT), known as trinification, which was first introduced in 1984 by S.Glashow. This model has the GUT gauge group as $[SU(3)]^3$ with a discrete $\mathbb{Z}_3$ to ensure the couplings are unified at the GUT scale. In this letter we consider this trinification model in its minimal formulation and investigate its robustness in the context of cosmology. In particular we show that for a large set of the parameter space the model doesn't seem to provide a Dark Matter candidate compatible with cosmological data.
Boundary conditions on an extra-dimensional interval can be chosen to break bulk gauge symmetries and to reduce the rank of the gauge group. We consider this mechanism in models with gauge trinification. We determine the boundary conditions necessary to break the trinified gauge group directly down to that of the standard model. Working in an effective theory for the gauge symmetry-breaking parameters on a boundary, we examine the limit in which the GUT-breaking sector is Higgsless and show how one may obtain the low-energy particle content of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We find…
We present a supersymmetric (SUSY) model based on trinification $[\mathrm{SU}(3)]^3$ and family $\mathrm{SU}(3)_\mathrm{F}$ symmetries embedded into a maximal subgroup of $\mathrm{E}_8$, where the sectors of light Higgs bosons and leptons are unified into a single chiral supermultiplet. The common origin of gauge trinification and of the family symmetry from $\mathrm{E}_8$ separates the model from other trinification-based GUTs, as it protects, in particular, the Standard Model fermions from gaining mass until the electroweak symmetry is broken. Furthermore, it allows us to break the trinifica…
We realize a supersymmetric trinification model with three families of $({\bf 27}_{\rm tri}+{\bf 27}_{\rm tri} +\bar{\bf 27}_{\rm tri})$ by the $Z_3$ orbifold compactification with two Wilson lines. It is possible to break the trinification group to the supersymmetric standard model. This model has several interesting features: the {\it hypercharge quantization}, $\sin^2θ_W^0=\frac38,$ naturally light neutrino masses, and introduction of R-parity. The {\it hypercharge quantization} is realized by the choice of the vacuum, naturally leading toward a supersymmetric standard model.
A $Z_3$ orbifold compactification of $E_8\times E_8^\prime$ heterotic string is considered toward a trinification $SU(3)^3$ with three light families. The GUT scale VEV's of the $SU(2)_W\times U(1)_Y\times SU(3)_c$ singlet chiral fields in two sets of the trinification spectrum allow an acceptable symmetry breaking pattern toward MSSM. We show that a doublet-triplet splitting is related to the absence of a $ΔB$ nonzero operator.
We examine $E_6$ GUT models (both SUSY and non-SUSY) with D-parity violating intermediate trinification symmetry $\left(SU(3)_C\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes SU(3)_R\right)(g_{3L}\neq g_{3R})$ where the D-parity breaking is achieved by quantum gravity effect through dimension-5 operators. Inclusion of the gravitational effect significantly lowers the intermediate scale, being as low as $10$ TeV. However with a given choice of the intermediate mass $M_I$, the gauge unification mass $M_U$ as well as the GUT coupling constant are unaffected by the effects. The predicted value of $M_U$ is shown to be comp…
In this talk, I present a family unification in $Z_3$ orbifolded $E_8\times E_8^\prime$ heterotic strings. It is argued that trinification is a plausible candidate toward supersymmetric standard model at low energy.
The trinification grand unified theory (GUT) has gauge group SU(3)^3 and a discrete symmetry permuting the SU(3) factors. In common with other GUTs, the attractive nature of the fermionic multiplet assignments is obviated by the complicated multi-parameter Higgs potential apparently needed for phenomenological reasons, and also by vacuum expectation value (VEV) hierarchies within a given multiplet. This motivates the rigorous consideration of Higgs potentials, symmetry breaking patterns and alternative symmetry breaking mechanisms in models with this gauge group. Specifically, we study the rec…
We construct a supersymmetric model based on the semi-simple gauge group $SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times SU(3)_R$ with the relation $tanβ\simeq m_t/m_b$ automatically arising from its structure. The model below a scale $\sim 10^{16}$ GeV gives naturally rise just to the minimal supersymmetric standard model and therefore to the presently favored values for $sin^2 θ_w$ and $α_s$ without fields in representations higher than the fundamental.
We prove that the values of the electroweak mixing angle $\sin^2θ_W$ and intermediate mass scale $M_I$ have vanishing contributions due to one-loop, two-loop and gravitational corrections in Grand Unified Theories which accommodate an intermediate trinification symmetry ($G_{333D}$) invoked with spontaneous D-parity mechanism operative at mass scale greater than $M_I$. The proof of theorem is robust and we verify the results numerically using supersymmetric as well as non-supersymmetric version of $E_6$-GUT.
We construct a $SU(3)^3$ supersymmetric gauge theory with a common gauge coupling g. Spontaneous breaking of this gauge group at a scale $M_X=1.3\times10^{16} $GeV gives naturally rise exactly to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model $(MSSM)$ and consequently to the experimentally favored values of $sin^2θ_w$ and $α_s$.The gauge hierarchy problem is naturally solved by a missing-partner-type mechanism which works to all orders in the superpotential. The baryon asymmetry can be generated in spite of the (essential) stability of the proton. The solar neutrino puzzle is solved by the MSW mech…
We propose a unified model of elementary particles based on a supersymmetric SO(10)$_{GUT} \:\times$ SO(6)$_H$ gauge theory. This model completely achieves natural unification of the strong and electroweak interactions without any fine-tunings.
The doublet-triplet splitting problem in supersymmetric grand unified theories is elegantly solved in a supersymmetric SO(10)_GUT x SO(6)_H model. In this model, the gauginos in the supersymmetric standard model do not respect the usual GUT gaugino mass relation. We point out that in spite of non-unified gaugino masses there is one nontrivial relation among gaugino masses in the model. Thus, it can be used to test the model in future experiments.
We study phenomenological aspects of supersymmetric SO(10) GUTs with sum rules among soft SUSY breaking parameters. In particular, the sum rule related to the stau mass leads to the constraints from the requirements of successful electroweak breaking and the positivity of stau mass squared. The bottom quark mass is also estimated.
Gauge coupling unification in the Supersymmetric Standard Models strongly implies the Grand Unified Theories (GUTs). With the grand desert hypothesis, we show that the supersymmetric GUTs can be probed at the future proton-proton (pp) colliders and Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. For the GUTs with the GUT scale $M_{GUT} \le 1.0\times 10^{16}$ GeV, we can probe the dimension-six proton decay via heavy gauge boson exchange at the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. Moreover, for the GUTs with $M_{GUT} \ge 1.0\times 10^{16}$ GeV, we for the first time study the upper bounds on the gaugino and sfermion mass…
The masses and their variation with energy of the elementary particles obtained by solving the one loop renormalization group equation (RGE) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) is considered. A mass about 115 GeV for all the fermions at GUT scale is found as the possible solution of RGE. The mass spectra of all the fermions are also obtained within acceptable errors. They are shown graphically to desend for the top quark but ascend for all other fermions from the laboratory to the GUT scale.
There are few robust solutions to the doublet-triplet splitting problem in supersymmetric GUT theories. One of the more promising solutions is the Higgs as pseudo-Goldstone boson mechanism. In its minimal implementation, such a solution places an additional restriction on the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. A testable consequence of this constraint is an equation for $\tan β$. We present this restriction and study its solutions in order to constrain the allowed parameter space. Thus the assumptions on the GUT scale Higgs sector should yield testable predictions fo…
We make a detailed analysis of gauge coupling unification in supersymmetry. When the Standard Model gauge group is embedded in a Grand Unified Theory, new particles often appear below the GUT scale in order to predict the right phenomenology at low energy. While these new particles are beyond the reach of accelerator experiments, they change the prediction of α_s. Here we classify all the (SU(3)_C,SU(2)_L,U(1)_Y) representations which improve or worsen the prediction. Running experimentally determined values of the coupling constants at two loops we calculate the allowed range of masses of fie…
We present an extension of the Standard Model that results from the dimensional reduction of the $\mathcal{N}=1$, $10D$ $E_8$ group over a $M_4 \times B_0/ \mathbf{Z}_3 $ space, where $B_0$ is the nearly-Kähler manifold $SU(3)/U(1) \times U(1)$ and $\mathbf{Z}_3$ is a freely acting discrete group on $B_0$. Using the Wilson flux breaking mechanism we are left in four dimensions with an $\mathcal{N}=1$ $SU(3)^3$ gauge theory. Below the unification scale we have a two Higgs doublet model in a split-like supersymmetric version of the Standard Model, which yields third generation quark and light Hi…
We consider the gravity induced dimension six terms in addition to the dimension five terms in the SUSY GUT Lagrangian and find that the prediction for $α_s$ may be washed out completely in supersymmetric grand unified theories unless the triplet higgs mass is smaller than $ 7\times 10^{16} $ GeV.
The Peccei-Quinn symmetric extension of the missing-partner model in the supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified model is consistent with the observed stability of the proton, even in the large $\tanβ$ region ($\simeq 50-60$) expected from the Yukawa unification. Moreover, the SU(5) gauge coupling constant remains small enough for the perturbative description of GUT's below the gravitational scale.
Inspired by a recently proposed GUT model based on the trinification ($\mathrm{SU}(3)^3$) gauge group with a global family ($\mathrm{SU}(3)_F$) symmetry, we consider an effective low-energy three Higgs doublet model that may shed light on what underlies the observed fermion mass hierarchies and CKM mixing. We discuss possibilities for charged scalars coming from this model to show in collider experiments and show some interesting benchmark points.
In the context of the supersymmetric flipped $SU(5)\otimes U(1)$ GUT model, we have studied in detail the neutrino mass spectrum, obtaining an approximate formula for the corresponding effective three-generation mass matrix. It is found that at least two neutrinos are expected to have extremely small masses of no particular interest. The third neutrino, on the other hand, may eventually get a mass of order $10^{-3}$ eV, of relevance for the solution of the solar neutrino problem with the MSW mechanism, as a consequence of vacuum-expectation-values at the GUT mass scale for some of the scalar p…
We demonstrate that supersymmetric decays, as typified by the predictions of several GUT-scale boundary condition choices, do not prevent detection of $Z^* \to H^0A^0,H^+H^-$, at a $1-4$ TeV $e^+e^-$ or $μ^+μ^-$ collider operating at anticipated luminosity. For much of parameter space the relative branching ratios for various SUSY and non-SUSY decays can be measured with sufficient accuracy that different GUT-scale boundary condition choices can be distinguished from one another at a very high confidence level.
We show that one loop GUT scale threshold corrections to gauge couplings are a significant constraint on the GUT symmetry breaking sector of the theory. The one loop threshold corrections relate the prediction for $α_s(M_Z)$ to the proton lifetime. We have calculated these corrections in a new complete SO(10) SUSY GUT. The results are consistent with the low energy measurement of $α_s(M_Z)$. We have also calculated the proton lifetime and branching ratios in this model. We show that proton decay rates provide a powerful test for theories of fermion masses.
A simple extension of the minimal renormalizable supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory by adding a 120-dimensional Higgs representation is examined. This brings new antisymmetric contributions to the relevant quark and lepton mass sum rules and leads to a better fit of the measured values of lepton masses and mixings together with a natural completion of the renormalizable Higgs sector within the SUSY SO(10) framework.
We propose a simple supersymmetric SO(10) GUT model with only doublet Higgs scalars. The fermion mass problem is naturally solved by a new one-loop diagram. R-parity is conserved implying a stable LSP which can explain the dark matter of the universe. There are two contributions to the neutrino masses, one of which depends on the quark mass squared while the other is independent and similar to the type II see-saw mechanism. In the latter case $b-τ$ unification implies large neutrino mixing angles. The baryon asymmetry of the universe is explained through leptogenesis.
We construct a missing-partner model for supersymmetric SU(5) GUT assuming the Peccei-Quinn symmetry, in which the SU(5) gauge coupling constant remains in the perturbative regime below the gravitational scale $\sim2.4\times 10^{18}\GEV$. The Peccei-Quinn symmetry suppresses the dangerous dimension-five operators for the nucleon decay much below the limit from the present proton-decay experiments. We also stress that due to this suppression mechanism our model can accommodate even the large $\tanβ_H$ ($\sim$ 60) scenario which has been recently suggested to explain the observed value of the $m…
It is widely believed that minimal supersymmetric SU(5) GUTs have been excluded by the SuperKamiokande bound for the proton decay rate. In the minimal model, however, the theoretical prediction assumes unification of Yukawa couplings, Y_d=Y_e, which is known to be badly violated. We analyze the implications of this fact for the proton decay rate. In a consistent SU(5) model with higher dimensional operators, where SU(5) relations among Yukawa couplings hold, the proton decay rate can be several orders of magnitude smaller than the present experimental bound.
The Supersymmetric SO(10) GUT based on the ${\bf{210\oplus 10\oplus 120\oplus 126\oplus {\bar{126}}}}$ Higgs system has 40 real superpotential parameters of which 2 can be fixed by the Light Higgs doublet fine tuning and one by the determination of the unification scale by the RG flow. It provides a minimal framework for the emergence of R-parity exact Supersymmetric Standard Model at low energies and viable supersymmetric seesaw explanation for the observed neutrino masses and mixing angles. We present complete formulae for MSSM decomposition of the superpotential invariants, explicit GUT sca…
We study the so-called new minimal supersymmetric SO(10) GUT(NMSGUT) where explicit spontaneous symmetry breaking allows determination of superheavy spectrum and thus threshold corrections to the effective MSSM couplings. This provides a generic mechanism to resolve the long standing super fast proton decay in Susy GUTs. We estimate lepton flavor violation associated with realistic charged fermion and (Type I seesaw) neutrino fit and show compatibility with baryon number and lepton flavour violation limits. We improve NMSGUT fits by including important loop corrections to sparticle spectra. Ou…
The (B_{d}\longrightarrow ΦK_{s}) process is without tree level decay amplitude . Then the SUSY contributions may be significant . We calculate the neutralino and gluino penguin contributions to the CP violating phase in (SU(5) ) grand unified theory with right-handed neutrino (SU(5)_{RN}) . We find that the SUSY contribution may change the phase in (B_{d}\longrightarrow ΦK_{s} ).
Branching ratio of $μ\to \e γ$ is evaluated in the supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory taking account of higher dimensional operators, which reproduce the realistic quark and lepton masses and the mixing parameters. It is shown by numerical calculation that at large $\tanβ$ the branching ratio is enhanced by a few orders of magnitude since the flavor mixings for both the left- and the right-handed sleptons are induced by the effect of the higher dimensional operators.
We show that intermediate scales in supersymmetric grand unified theories may exist naturally. Their origin is traced to the violation of the survival principle: in supersymmetry internal symmetries often forbid cubic couplings in the superpotential. This leads to a plethora of light supermultiplets whose masses are generated only by higher dimensional operators and thus suppressed by the cut-off scale. These new states often carry exotic quantum numbers and may be, in some cases, accessible to experiments in the near future.
Recent results in study of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model as the effective low energy theory give important hints for experimental search for supersymmetry. Also, in the bottom-up approach to explore weak scale - GUT scale connection, they constrain strongly physics at the GUT scale. Several theoretical ideas about the GUT physics are in stunning agreement with the low energy data.
The nucleon decay is a significant phenomenon to verify grand unified theories (GUTs). For the precise prediction of the nucleon lifetime induced by the gauge bosons associated with the unified gauge group, it is important to include the renormalization effects on the Wilson coefficients of the dimension-six baryon number violating operators. In this study, we have derived the threshold corrections to these coefficients at the one-loop level in the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) GUT and the extended one with additional SU(5) vector-like pairs. As a result, it is found that the nucleon decay rate…
Supersymmetric grand unified models based on SO(10) gauge symmetry have many desireable features, including the unification of Yukawa couplings. Using D-term contributions to scalar masses arising from the breakdown of SO(10), Yukawa coupling unification only to 30% can be achieved in models with a positive superpotential Higgs mass. The superparticle mass spectrum is highly constrained, and yields relatively light top squarks and charginos. Surprisingly, the pattern of GUT scale soft SUSY breaking masses are close to those found in the context of inverted hierarchy models. Our analysis suppor…
Supersymmetric models with an inverted mass hierarchy (IMH: multi-TeV first and second generation matter scalars, and sub-TeV third generation and Higgs scalars) have been proposed to ameliorate phenomenological problems arising from flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) and CP violating processes, while satisfying conditions of naturalness. Models with an IMH already in place at the GUT scale have been shown to be constrained in that for many model parameter choices, the top squark squared mass is driven to negative values. We delineate regions of parameter space where viable models with a…
We suggest simple models which produce the suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixing angles based on the 6 dimensional N=1 supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory compactified on a $T^2/(Z_2 \times Z_2')$ orbifold. We introduce 6D and 5D matter fields, which contains the 1st and 2nd generation matter fields as the zero modes, respectively. The 3rd generation matter fields are located on a 4D brane. The Yukawa couplings for bulk fields are suppressed by volume factors from extra dimensions. The suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixings are generated by the volume suppres…
Within a supersymmetric unified framework we explore the resolution of the gauge hierarchy problem taking account of the non-renormalizable terms in the superpotential. For $[SU(3)]^3$ supplemented by a discrete R parity, we find the remarkable property that the vacuum configuration corresponding to the correct gauge symmetry breaking remains flat (in the supersymmetric limit) to all orders in $M^{-1}_{Planck}$. The grand unification scale arises from an interplay of the Planck and supersymmetry breaking scales. An `internal' $Z_3\otimes Z_4$ symmetry protects a pair of electroweak doublets fr…
A supersymmetric hybrid inflation framework is employed to realize a class of non-minimal inflation models with $U(1)_R \times Z_n$ global symmetry. This framework naturally incorporates models based on grand unified theories by avoiding the most commonly faced monopole problem. The predictions of inflationary observables, the scalar spectral index $n_s = 0.960-0.966$ and the tensor to scalar ratio $r=0.0031-0.0045$, are in perfect agreement with the Planck 2018 data. For sub-Planckian values of the field the $Z_n$ symmetry is only allowed for $n\leq 4$.
A unification of left-right $\rm{SU}(3)_\rm{L}\times \rm{SU}(3)_\rm{R}$, colour $\rm{SU}(3)_\rm{C}$ and family $\rm{SU}(3)_\rm{F}$ symmetries in a maximal rank-8 subgroup of ${\rm{E}}_8$ is proposed as a landmark for future explorations beyond the Standard Model (SM). We discuss the implications of this scheme in a supersymmetric (SUSY) model based on the trinification gauge $\left[\rm{SU}(3)\right]^3$ and global $\rm{SU}(3)_\rm{F}$ family symmetries. Among the key properties of this model are the unification of SM Higgs and lepton sectors, a common Yukawa coupling for chiral fermions, the abs…
A Supersymmetric Grand unified model is constructed based on SO(10)xSO(10) symmetry in which new types of Yukawa matrices couple standard and exotic fermions. Evolution of these couplings from the Grand Unified scale to the electroweak scale causes some of them to be driven to their fixed points. This solves the supersymmetric alignment problem and ensures that there are no observable flavor changing neutral currents mediated by supersymmetric particles. Fermion hierarchy and neutrino mixing constraints are automatically satisfied in this formalism.
We make an explicit formulation for the proton decay rate in the minimal renormalizable supersymmetric (SUSY) SO(10) model. In this model, the Higgs fields consist of ${\bf 10}$ and ${\bf \bar{126}}$ SO(10) representations in the Yukawa interactions with matter and of ${\bf 10}$, ${\bf \bar{126}}$, ${\bf 126}$, and ${\bf 210}$ representations in the Higgs potential. We present all the mass matrices for the Higgs fields contained in this minimal SUSY SO(10) model. Finally, we discuss the threshold effects of these Higgs fields on the gauge coupling unification.
We reconsider dimension-five proton decay operators, making semi-quantitative remarks which apply to a large class of supersymmetric GUTs in which the short-distance operators are correlated with the fermion Yukawa couplings. In these GUTs, which include minimal SU(5), the operators $(u^cd_i^c)^\dagger(d_jν_τ)$, induced by charged Higgsino dressing, completely dominate for moderate to large $\tanbeta$. The rate for $p \rarr (K^+,π^+) \barν_τ$ grows rapidly, as $\tanbeta^4$, and the K^+ to π^+ branching ratio can often be precisely predicted. At small $\tanbeta$ the operators $(u d_i)(d_j ν)$ a…
We present a renormalizable non supersymmetric Grand Unified SO(10) model which, at the price of a large fine tuning, is compatible with all compelling phenomenological requirements below the unification scale and thus realizes a minimal extension of the SM, unified in SO(10) and describing all known physics below $M_{GUT}$. These requirements include coupling unification at a large enough scale to be compatible with the bounds on proton decay; a Yukawa sector in agreement with all the data on quark and lepton masses and mixings and with leptogenesis as the origin of the baryon asymmetry of th…
We study a GUT-inspired supersymmetric model with non-universal gaugino masses that can explain the observed muon g-2 anomaly while simultaneously accommodating an enhancement or suppression in the h \rightarrowγγdecay channel. In order to accommodate these observations and m_h \simeq 125-126 GeV, the model requires a spectrum consisting of relatively light sleptons whereas the colored sparticles are heavy. The predicted stau mass range corresponding to R_{γγ}\ge 1.1 is 100 {\rm \ GeV} \lesssim m_{\tildeτ} \lesssim 200 {\rm \ GeV}. The constraint on the slepton masses, particularly on the smuo…
Supersymmetric GUTs based on SO(10) gauge group are leading contenders to describe particle physics beyond the Standard Model. Among these the "New minimal supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory" (NMSGUT) based on Higgs system 10+120+210+126+$\overline{126}$ has been developing since 1982. It now successfully fits the whole standard Model gauge coupling, symmetry breaking and fermion mass-mixing data as well as the neutrino mass and mixing data in terms of NMSGUT parameters and just 6 soft supersymmetry breaking parameters defined at the GUT scale. In this thesis we study the phenomenology…
We revisit minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unification (GUT) models in which the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters of the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) are universal at some input scale, $M_{in}$, above the supersymmetric gauge coupling unification scale, $M_{GUT}$. As in the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), we assume that the scalar masses and gaugino masses have common values, $m_0$ and $m_{1/2}$ respectively, at $M_{in}$, as do the trilinear soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters $A_0$. Going beyond previous studies of such a super-GUT CMSSM scenario, we explore the constrai…
We show that generic $ {\bf{10\oplus 120\oplus {\bar {126}}}}$ fits of fermion masses and mixings, using real superpotential couplings but with complex `Higgs fractions' leading to complex yukawa couplings in the effective MSSM, \emph{overdetermine}(by one extra constraint) the superpotential parameters of the New Minimal Supersymmetric SO(10) GUT\cite{nmsgut}. Therefore fits should properly be done by generating the 24 generic fit parameters from the 23 parameters of the NMSGUT superpotential, given $\tanβ$ as input. Each numerical fit then \emph{fully specifies} the parameters of the NMSGUT.…
On the evaluation of $\tanβ$ is revisited by the method of the renormalization group with the criteria of the bottom-tau unification in the SUSY SU(5) GUT model. Among the conventional supersymmetric theories, an energy-scale constant $M_{SUSY}$ is introduced by-hand to decouple the lower energy-scale region from the effects of the supersymmetric particles. Provided that $M_{SUSY}$ really exists, only small $\tanβ \simeq 2$ is allowed theoretically. While, medium value as $\tanβ = 6 \sim 25$ is also supported if $M_{SUSY}$ is vanished away from the model.
Among three typical energy scales, a neutrino mass scale ($m_ν\sim$ 0.1 eV), a GUT scale ($M_{GUT}\sim 10^{16}$ GeV), and a TeV-scale ($M_{NP}\sim 1$ TeV), there is a fascinating relation of $M_{NP}\simeq \sqrt{m_ν\cdot M_{GUT}}$. The TeV-scale, $M_{NP}$, is a new physics scale beyond the standard model which is regarded as supersymmetry in this letter. We suggest a simple supersymmetric neutrinophilic Higgs doublet model, which realizes the above relation dynamically as well as the suitable $m_ν$ through a tiny vacuum expectation value of neutrinophilic Higgs without additional scales other t…
We show how gauge coupling unification near the Planck scale $M_P\sim 10^{19}$ GeV can be achieved in the framework of supersymmetry, facilitating a full unification of all forces with gravity. Below the conventional GUT scale $M_{GUT}\sim 10^{16}$ GeV physics is described by a Supersymmetric Standard Model whose particle content is that of three complete $\mathbf{27}$ representations of the gauge group $E_6$. Above the conventional GUT scale the gauge group corresponds to a left-right symmetric Supersymmetric Pati-Salam model, which may be regarded as a ``surrogate SUSY GUT'' with all the nic…
We discuss the Yukawa coupling unification, a very interesting prediction of the grand unified theory, in the context of scenarios with more than one pair of Higgs doublet since the current LHC constraint has become a problem for the Yukawa unification scenarios with just one pair of Higgs doublet. More than one pair of Higgs doublets can easily arise in missing partner mechanism which solves the doublet-triplet splitting problem. In such a scenario, the Yukawa unification occurs at a medium $\tanβ$ value, e.g., $\sim$ 30, which corresponds to much smaller threshold corrections compared to usu…
It is shown that using non-abelian horizontal gauge symmetry and anomalous U(1)_A symmetry in grand unified theories (GUTs), realistic quark and lepton mass matrices including large neutrino mixings can be obtained, while the differences among the scalar fermion masses are sufficiently small for suppression of various flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes, especially in E_6 GUT. Combining the Higgs sector, in which doublet-triplet splitting is realized, a complete E_6\times SU(3)_H GUT, in which three generations are unified into a single multiplet, Psi(27,3), is obtained.
