We present an Almansi-type decomposition for polynomials with Clifford coefficients, and more generally for slice-regular functions on Clifford algebras. The classical result by Emilio Almansi, published in 1899, dealt with polyharmonic functions, the elements of the kernel of an iterated Laplacian. Here we consider polynomials of the form $P(x)=\sum_{k=0}^d x^ka_k$, with Clifford coefficients $a_k\in\mathbb R_{n}$, and get an analogous decomposition related to zonal polyharmonics. We show the relation between such decomposition and the Dirac (or Cauchy-Riemann) operator and extend the results to slice-regular functions.
We introduce the umbral calculus formalism for hypercomplex variables starting from the fact that the algebra of multivariate polynomials $\BR[\underline{x}]$ shall be described in terms of the generators of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra. The extension of $\BR[\underline{x}]$ to the algebra of Clifford-valued polynomials $\mathcal{P}$ gives rise to an algebra of Clifford-valued operators whose canonical generators are isomorphic to the orthosymplectic Lie algebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$. This extension provides an effective framework in continuity and discreteness that allow us to establish an alt…
In this paper, we define a class of slice mappings of several Clifford variables, and the corresponding slice regular mappings. Furthermore, we establish the growth theorem for slice regular starlike or convex mappings on the unit ball of several slice Clifford variables, as well as on the bounded slice domain which is slice starlike and slice circular.
In this paper we offer a definition of monogenicity for functions defined on $\rr^{n+1}$ with values in the Clifford algebra $\rr_n$ following an idea inspired by the recent papers \cite{gs}, \cite{advances}. This new class of monogenic functions contains the polynomials (and, more in general, power series) with coefficients in the Clifford algebra $\rr_n$. We will prove a Cauchy integral formula as well as some of its consequences. Finally, we deal with the zeroes of some polynomials and power series.
We present some new relations between the Cauchy-Riemann operator on the real Clifford algebra $\mathbb R_n$ of signature $(0,n)$ and slice-regular functions on $\mathbb R_n$. The class of slice-regular functions, which comprises all polynomials with coefficients on one side, is the base of a recent function theory in several hypercomplex settings, including quaternions and Clifford algebras. In this paper we present formulas, relating the Cauchy-Riemann operator, the spherical Dirac operator, the differential operator characterizing slice regularity, and the {spherical derivative} of a slice …
In this paper we study the additive splitting associated to the quaternionic Cauchy transform defined by the Cauchy formula of slice hyperholomorphic functions. Moreover, we introduce and study the analogue of the fundamental solution of the global operator of slice hyperholomorphic functions. We state our results in the quaternionic setting but several results hold for Clifford algebra-valued function with minor changes in the proofs.
In this paper we introduce and study some basic properties of the Fock space (also known as Segal-Bargmann space) in the slice hyperholomorphic setting. We discuss both the case of slice regular functions over quaternions and also the case of slice monogenic functions with values in a Clifford algebra. In the specific setting of quaternions, we also introduce the full Fock space. This paper can be seen as the beginning of the study of infinite dimensional analysis in the quaternionic setting.
The sharp growth and distortion theorems are established for slice monogenic extensions of univalent functions on the unit disc $\mathbb D\subset \mathbb C$ in the setting of Clifford algebras, based on a new convex combination identity. The analogous results are also valid in the quaternionic setting for slice regular functions and we can even prove the Koebe type one-quarter theorem in this case. Our growth and distortion theorems for slice regular (slice monogenic) extensions to higher dimensions of univalent holomorphic functions hold without extra geometric assumptions, in contrast to the…
In [J. Bures, R. Lavicka, V. Soucek, Elements of quaternionic analysis and Radon transform, Textos de Matematica 42, Departamento de Matematica, Universidade de Coimbra, 2009], the authors describe a link between holomorphic functions depending on a parameter and monogenic functions defined on R^(n+1) using the Radon and dual Radon transforms. The main aim of this paper is to further develop this approach. In fact, the Radon transform for functions with values in the Clifford algebra R_n is mapping solutions of the generalized Cauchy-Riemann equation, i.e., monogenic functions, to a parametric…
We introduce a family of Cauchy integral formulas for slice and slice regular functions on a real associative *-algebra. For each suitable choice of a real vector subspace of the algebra, a different formula is given, in which the domains of integration are subsets of the subspace. In particular, in the quaternionic case, we get a volume Cauchy formula. In the Clifford algebra case, the choice of the paravector subspace R^(n+1) gives a volume Cauchy formula for slice monogenic functions.
In this paper we develop a theory of slice regular functions on a real alternative algebra $A$. Our approach is based on a well--known Fueter's construction. Two recent function theories can be included in our general theory: the one of slice regular functions of a quaternionic or octonionic variable and the theory of slice monogenic functions of a Clifford variable. Our approach permits to extend the range of these function theories and to obtain new results. In particular, we get a strong form of the fundamental theorem of algebra for an ample class of polynomials with coefficients in $A$ an…
We construct Lagrange interpolating polynomials for a set of points and values belonging to the algebra of real quaternions $H\simeq R_{0,2}$, or to the real Clifford algebra $R_{0,3}$. In the quaternionic case, the approach by means of Lagrange polynomials is new, and gives a complete solution of the interpolation problem. In the case of $R_{0,3}$, such a problem is dealt with here for the first time. Elements of the recent theory of slice regular functions are used. Leaving apart the classical cases $R_{0,0}\simeq R$, $R_{0,1}\simeq C$ and the trivial case $R_{1,0}\simeq R\oplus R$, the inte…
The Fueter-Sce-Qian mapping theorem is a two steps procedure to extend holomorphic functions of one complex variable to quaternionic or Clifford algebra-valued functions in the kernel of a suitable generalized Cauchy-Riemann operator. Using the Cauchy formula of slice monogenic functions it is possible to give the Fueter-Sce-Qian extension theorem an integral form and to define the $\mathcal{F}$-functional calculus for $n$-tuples of commuting operators. This functional calculus is defined on the $S$-spectrum but it generates a monogenic functional calculus in the spirit of McIntosh and collabo…
The Fueter-Sce-Qian theorem provides a way of inducing axial monogenic functions in $\mathbb{R}^{m+1}$ from holomorphic intrinsic functions of one complex variable. This result was initially proved by Fueter and Sce for the cases where the dimension $m$ is odd using pointwise differentiation, while the extension to the cases where $m$ is even was proved by Qian using the corresponding Fourier multipliers. In this paper, we provide an alternative description of the Fueter-Sce-Qian theorem in terms of the generalized CK-extension. The latter characterizes axial null solutions of the Cauchy-Riema…
