Using the notion of a contravariant derivative, we give some algebraic and geometric characterizations of Poisson algebras associated to the infinitesimal data of Poisson submanifolds. We show that such a class of Poisson algebras provides a suitable framework for the study of the Hamiltonization problem for the linearized dynamics along Poisson submanifolds.
We show that for any coboundary Poisson Lie group G, the Poisson structure on G^* is linearizable at the group unit. This strengthens a result of Enriquez-Etingof-Marshall, who had established formal linearizability of G^* for quasi-triangular Poisson Lie groups G. We also prove linearizability properties for the group multiplication in G^* and for Poisson Lie group morphisms, with similar assumptions.
This is the first of two papers, in which we prove a version of Conn's linearization theorem for the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})\simeq \mathfrak{so}(3,1)$. Namely, we show that any Poisson structure whose linear approximation at a zero is isomorphic to the Poisson structure associated to $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ is linearizable. In this first part, we calculate the Poisson cohomology associated to $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$, and we construct bounded homotopy operators for the Poisson complex of multivector fields that are flat at the origin. In the second part, we will obt…

In this paper we prove that both complete and vertical lifts of a Poisson vector field from a Poisson manifold $(M, π)$ to its tangent bundle $(TM, π_{TM})$ are also Poisson. We use this fact to describe the infinitesimal deformations of Poisson tensor $π_{TM}$. We study some of their properties and present a extensive set of examples in a low dimensional case.
In this note we prove that an analytic symplectic action of a semisimple Lie algebra can be locally linearized in Darboux coordinates. This result yields simultaneous analytic linearization for Hamiltonian vector fields in a neighbourhood of a common zero. We also provide an example of smooth non-linearizable Hamiltonian action with semisimple linear part. The smooth analogue only holds if the semisimple Lie algebra is of compact type. An analytic equivariant b-Darboux theorem for b-Poisson manifolds and an analytic equivariant Weinstein splitting theorem for general Poisson manifolds are also…
A geometric description of the first Poisson cohomology groups is given in the semilocal context, around (possibly singular) symplectic leaves. This result is based on the splitting theorems for infinitesimal automorphisms of coupling Poisson structures which describe the interaction between the tangential and transversal data of the characteristic distributions. As a consequence, we derive some criteria of vanishing of the first Poisson cohomology groups and apply the general splitting formulas to some particular classes of Poisson structures associated with singular symplectic foliations.
Motivated by a search for Lie group structures on groups of Poisson diffeomorphisms [24], we investigate linearizability of Poisson structures of Poisson groupoids around the unit section. After extending the Lagrangian neighbourhood theorem to the setting of cosymplectic Lie algebroids, we establish that dual integrations of triangular bialgebroids are always linearizable. Additionally, we show that the (non-dual) integration of a triangular Lie bialgebroid is linearizable whenever the $r$-matrix is of so-called cosymplectic type. The proof relies on the integration of a triangular Lie bialge…
In this paper we prove rigidity theorems for Poisson Lie group actions on Poisson manifolds. In particular, we prove that close infinitesimal momentum maps associated to Poisson Lie group actions are equivalent using a normal form theorem for SCI spaces. When the Poisson structure of the acted manifold is integrable, this yields rigidity also for lifted actions to the symplectic groupoid.
We classify linear Nambu structures (which are generalized Poisson structures in Hamiltonian dynamics and which give rise to integrable differential forms and singular foliations), then give a linearization for Nambu structures anf integrable differential forms near a nondegenerate singular point.
We give a soft geometric proof of the classical result due to Conn stating that a Poisson structure is linearizable around a singular point (zero) at which the isotropy Lie algebra is compact and semisimple.
Let $(G\rr P, \mathsf D_G)$ be a Dirac groupoid. We show that there are natural Lie algebroid structures on the units $\lie A(\mathsf D_G)$ and on the core $I^\tg(\mathsf D_G)$ of the multiplicative Dirac structure. In the Poisson case, the Lie algebroid $A^*G$ is isomorphic to $\lie A(\mathsf D_G)$ and in the case of a closed 2-form, the $IM$-2-form is equivalent to the core algebroid that we find. We construct a vector bundle $\lie B(\mathsf D_G)\to P$ associated to any (almost) Dirac structure. In the Dirac case, $\lie B(\mathsf D_G)$ has the structure of a Courant algebroid that generalize…
Like his colleagues de Prony, Petit, and Poisson at the Ecole Polytechnique, Cauchy used infinitesimals in the Leibniz-Euler tradition both in his research and teaching. Cauchy applied infinitesimals in an 1826 work in differential geometry where infinitesimals are used neither as variable quantities nor as sequences but rather as numbers. He also applied infinitesimals in an 1832 article on integral geometry, similarly as numbers. We explore these and other applications of Cauchy's infinitesimals as used in his textbooks and research articles. An attentive reading of Cauchy's work challenges …
A field of endomorphisms $R$ is called a Nijenhuis operator if its Nijenhuis torsion vanishes. In this work we study a specific kind of singular points of $R$ called points of scalar type. We show that the tangent space at such points possesses a natural structure of a left-symmetric algebra (also known as pre-Lie or Vinberg-Kozul algebras). Following Weinstein's approach to linearization of Poisson structures, we state the linearisation problem for Nijenhuis operators and give an answer in terms of non-degenerate left-symmetric algebras. In particular, in dimension 2, we give classification o…
We study higher-degree generalizations of symplectic groupoids, referred to as {\em multisymplectic groupoids}. Recalling that Poisson structures may be viewed as infinitesimal counterparts of symplectic groupoids, we describe "higher'' versions of Poisson structures by identifying the infinitesimal counterparts of multisymplectic groupoids. Some basic examples and features are discussed.
We develop the deformation theory of symplectic foliations, i.e. regular foliations equipped with a leafwise symplectic form. The main result of this paper is that each symplectic foliation has an attached $L_\infty$-algebra controlling its deformation problem. Indeed, viewing symplectic foliations as regular Poisson structures, we establish a one-to-one correspondence between the small deformations of a given symplectic foliation and the Maurer-Cartan elements of the associated $L_\infty$-algebra. Using this, we show that infinitesimal deformations of symplectic foliations can be obstructed. …
We prove a rigidity theorem in Poisson geometry around compact Poisson submanifolds, using the Nash-Moser fast convergence method. In the case of one-point submanifolds (fixed points), this immediately implies a stronger version of Conn's linearization theorem, also proving that Conn's theorem is, indeed, just a manifestation of a rigidity phenomenon; similarly, in the case of arbitrary symplectic leaves, it gives a stronger version of the local normal form theorem; another interesting case corresponds to spheres inside duals of compact semisimple Lie algebras, our result can be used to fully …
We study some properties of coisotropic submanifolds of a manifold with respect to a given multivector field. Using this notion, we generalize the results of Weinstein \cite{wein} from Poisson bivector field to Nambu-Poisson tensor or more generally to any multivector field. We also introduce the notion of Nambu-Lie groupoid generalizing the concepts of both Poisson-Lie groupoid and Nambu-Lie group. We show that the infinitesimal version of Nambu-Lie groupoid is the notion of weak Lie-Filippov bialgebroid as introduced in \cite{bas-bas-das-muk}. Next we introduce coisotropic subgroupoids of a …
Associated to every generalized complex structure is a differential Gerstenhaber algebra (DGA). When the generalized complex structure deforms, so does the associated DGA. In this paper, we identify the infinitesimal conditions when the DGA is invariant as the generalized complex structure deforms. We prove that the infinitesimal condition is always integrable. When the underlying manifold is a holomorphic Poisson nilmanifolds, or simply a group in the general, and the geometry is invariant, we find a general construction to solve the infinitesimal conditions under some geometric conditions. E…
This manuscript is essentially a collection of lecture notes which were given by the first author at the Summer School Wisl-2019, Poland and written down by the second author. As the title suggests, the material covered here includes the Poisson and symplectic structures (Poisson manifolds, Poisson bi-vectors and Poisson brackets), group actions and orbits (infinitesimal action, stabilizers and adjoint representations), moment maps, Poisson and Hamiltonian actions. Finally, the phase space reduction is also discussed. The very last section introduces the Poisson-Lie structures along with some …

In this thesis we develop the notion of LA-Courant algebroids, the infinitesimal analogue of multiplicative Courant algebroids. Specific applications include the integration of q- Poisson (d, g)-structures, and the reduction of Courant algebroids. We also introduce the notion of pseudo-Dirac structures, (possibly non-Lagrangian) subbundles W \subseteq E of a Courant algebroid such that the Courant bracket endows W naturally with the structure of a Lie algebroid. Specific examples of pseudo-Dirac structures arise in the theory of q-Poisson (d, g)-structures.
