Algebraic treatment of the Bateman Hamiltonian

We apply the algebraic method to the Bateman Hamiltonian and obtain its natural frequencies and ladder operators from the adjoint or regular matrix representation of that operator. Present analysis shows that the eigenfunctions compatible with the complex eigenvalues obtained earlier by other authors are not square integrable. In addition to this, the ladder operators annihilate an infinite number of such eigenfunctions.

Algebraic treatment of non-Hermitian quadratic Hamiltonians

We generalize a recently proposed algebraic method in order to treat non-Hermitian Hamiltonians. The approach is applied to several quadratic Hamiltonians studied earlier by other authors. Instead of solving the Schrödinger equation we simply obtain the eigenvalues of a suitable matrix representation of the operator. We take into account the existence of unitary and antiunitary symmetries in the quantum-mechanical problem.

Algebraic treatment of a simple model for the electromagnetic self-force

The problem of the electromagnetic self-force can be studied in terms of a quadratic PT-symmetric Hamiltonian. Here, we apply a straightforward algebraic method to determine the regions of model-parameter space where the quantum-mechanical operator exhibits real spectrum. An alternative point of view consists of finding the values of the model parameters so that a symmetric operator supports bound states.

Unified Treatment of EPR and Bell Arguments in Algebraic Quantum Field Theory

A conjecture concerning vacuum correlations in axiomatic quantum field theory is proved. It is shown that this result can be applied both in the context of EPR-type experiments and Bell-type experiments.

Algebraic treatment of $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric coupled oscillators

The purpose of this paper is the discussion of a pair of coupled linear oscillators that has recently been proposed as a model of a system of two optical resonators. By means of an algebraic approach we show that the frequencies of the classical and quantum-mechanical interpretations of the optical phenomenon are exactly the same. Consequently, if the classical frequencies are real, then the quantum-mechanical eigenvalues are also real.

Algebraic treatment of the confluent Natanzon potentials

Using the so(2,1) Lie algebra and the Baker, Campbell and Hausdorff formulas, the Green's function for the class of the confluent Natanzon potentials is constructed straightforwardly. The bound-state energy spectrum is then determined. Eventually, the three-dimensional harmonic potential, the three-dimensional Coulomb potential and the Morse potential may all be considered as particular cases.

Algebraic treatment of the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator and its PT-variant

The algebraic method enables one to study the properties of the spectrum of a quadratic Hamiltonian through the mathematical properties of a matrix representation called regular or adjoint. This matrix exhibits exceptional points where it becomes defective and can be written in canonical Jordan form. It is shown that any quadratic function of $K$ coordinates and $K$ momenta leads to a $2K$ differential equation for those dynamical variables. Algebraic treatment of super-integrable potentials

The so$(2,1)$ Lie algebra is applied to three classes of two- and three-dimensional Smorodinsky-Winternitz super-integrable potentials for which the path integral discussion has been recently presented in the literature. Algebraic treatments of the problems of the spin-1/2 particles in the one and two-dimensional geometry: a systematic study

We consider solutions of the 2x2 matrix Hamiltonians of the physical systems within the context of the su(2) and su(1,1) Lie algebra. Our technique is relatively simple when compared with the others and treats those Hamiltonians which can be treated in a unified framework of the $% Sp(4,R)$ algebra. The systematic study presented here reproduces a number of earlier results in a natural way as well as leads to a novel findings. Possible generalizations of the method are also suggested.

The Ryu-Takayanagi Formula from Quantum Error Correction: An Algebraic Treatment of the Boundary CFT

A New Algebraic Approach to Perturbation Theory

An algebraic non-perturbative approach is proposed for the analytical treatment of Schrödinger equations with a potential that can be expressed in terms of an exactly solvable piece with an additional potential. An algebraic construction of the coherent states of the Morse potential based on SUSY QM

By introducing the shape invariant Lie algebra spanned by the SUSY ladder operators plus the unity operator, a new basis is presented for the quantum treatment of the one-dimensional Morse potential. In this discrete, complete orthonormal set, which we call the pseudo number states, the Morse Hamiltonian is tridiagonal. A unified treatment of exactly solvable and quasi-exactly solvable quantum potentials

By exploiting the hidden algebraic structure of the Schrodinger Hamiltonian, namely the sl(2), we propose a unified approach of generating both exactly solvable and quasi-exactly solvable quantum potentials. We obtain, in this way, two new classes of quasi-exactly solvable systems one of which is of periodic type while the other hyperbolic.

Algebraic Aspects of Boundaries in the Kitaev Quantum Double Model

We provide a systematic treatment of boundaries based on subgroups $K\subseteq G$ with the Kitaev quantum double $D(G)$ model in the bulk. The boundary sites are representations of a $*$-subalgebra $Ξ\subseteq D(G)$ and we explicate its structure as a strong $*$-quasi-Hopf algebra dependent on a choice of transversal $R$. We provide decomposition formulae for irreducible representations of $D(G)$ pulled back to $Ξ$. Dynamics of the attractive 1D Bose gas: analytical treatment from integrability

The physics of the attractive one-dimensional Bose gas (Lieb-Liniger model) is investigated with techniques based on the integrability of the system. Combining a knowledge of particle quasi-momenta to exponential precision in the system size with determinant representations of matrix elements of local operators coming from the Algebraic Bethe Ansatz, we obtain rather general analytical results for the zero-temperature dynamical correlation functions of the density and field operators.
