We have constructed new proximity function particularly for interaction between two superheavy nuclei based on the experimental alpha decay half-lives. The new proximity function is used to produce the alpha decay half-lives of superheavy nuclei whose experimental values are known. The new proximity function produces the alpha decay half-lives close to the experiments. Hence we can conclude that the new proximity function can be used to study the interaction between two superheavy nuclei.
Spontaneous fission and alpha decay are the main decay modes for superheavy nuclei. The superheavy nuclei which have small alpha decay half-life compared to spontaneous fission half-life will survive fission and can be detected in the laboratory through alpha decay. We have studied the alpha decay half-life and spontaneous half-life of some superheavy elements in the atomic range Z = 100-130. Spontaneous fission half-lives of superheavy nuclei have been calculated using the phenomenological formula and the alpha decay half-lives using Viola-Seaborg-Sobiczewski formula (Sobiczewski et al. 1989)…
The interaction potential between the alpha particle and the deformed parent nucleus was used for description of the decay of superheavy nuclei. It consists of centrifugal, nuclear and Coulomb parts suitably modified for deformed nuclei. The significant effect of various shapes of barriers obtained for deformed parent nuclei on calculated alpha half-life times were shown. The finally calculated half-life times due to the spontaneous alpha decay for superheavy elements were compared with the results obtained from other models and the experimental data.
Systematic alpha-nucleus folding potentials are used to analyze alpha-decay half-lives of superheavy nuclei. Preformation factors of about several per cent are found for all nuclei under study. The systematic behavior of the preformation factors and the volume integrals of the potentials allows to predict alpha-decay energies and half-lives for unknown nuclei. Shell closures can be determined from measured alpha-decay energies using the discontinuity of the volume integral at shell closures. For the first time a double shell closure is predicted for Z_magic = 132, N_magic = 194, and A_magic = …
The competition between alpha- and beta+/EC-decay modes is studied systematically in nuclei along the alpha-decay chains following the synthesis of superheavy nuclei with Z = 119 and Z = 120. A microscopic approach based on deformed self-consistent Hartree-Fock mean-field calculations with Skyrme forces and pairing correlations is used to describe the beta+ and electron capture weak decays, whereas the alpha-decay is estimated from existing phenomenological expressions. It is shown that alpha-decay is in most cases the dominant decay mode, but interesting instances are identified where the hal…
Recently synthesis of superheavy nuclei has been achieved in hot fusion reactions. A systematic theoretical calculation of alpha decay half-lives in this region of the periodic system, may be useful in the identification of new nuclei in these type of reactions. Alpha decay half-lives are obtained in the framework of the barrier penetration theory, built with the use of proximity and Coulomb forces. It is estimated from a classical viewpoint, a possible angular momentum maximum value for odd and odd-odd nuclei alpha particles. The masses of the nuclei are obtained from a macro-microscopic mode…
The experimentally available data on the alpha decay half lives and Q? values for 96 superheavy nuclei are used to fix the parameters for a modified version of the Brown empirical formula through two fitting procedures which enables its comparison with similar fits using Viola-Seaborg and Royer formulas. The new expressions provide very good agreement with experimental data having fewer or the same number of parameters. All formulas with the obtained parameters are then extrapolated to generate half lives predictions for 125 unknown superheavy alpha emitters. The nuclei where the employed empi…
Magic islands for extra-stable nuclei in the midst of the sea of fission-instability were predicted to be around Z=114, 124 or, 126 with N=184, and Z=120, with N=172. Whether these fission-survived superheavy nuclei with high Z and N would live long enough for detection or, undergo alpha-decay in a very short time remains an open question. Alpha-decay half lives of nuclei with 130 < Z < 100 have been calculated in a WKB framework using density-dependent M3Y interaction with Q-values from different mass formulae. The results are in excellent agreement with the experimental data. Fission survive…
Alpha-decay energies for several chains of super-heavy nuclei are calculated within the self-consistent mean-field approach by using the Fayans functional FaNDF$^0$. They are compared to the experimental data and predictions of two Skyrme functionals, SLy4 and SkM*, and of the macro-micro method as well. The corresponding lifetimes are calculated with the use of the semi-phenomenological formulas by Parkhomenko and Sobiczewski and by Royer and Zhang.
The conditions of optimum orientations (lowest barrier and largest interaction radius) for deformed colliding nuclei are introduced in "cold" fusion of superheavy nuclei. Also, the role of (octupole and) hexadecupole deformations is studied. We have used the proximity potential and applied our method to Ca-induced reactions.
An intense study of the alpha decay properties of the isotopes of superheavy element Z=113 have been performed within the Coulomb and proximity potential model for deformed nuclei (CPPMDN) within the wide range 255 l.e. A l.e. 314. The predicted alpha decay half lives of $^{278}$113 and $^{282}$113 and the alpha half lives of their decay products are in good agreement with the experimental data. 6{α) chains and 4α chains predicted respectively for $^{278}$113 and $^{282}$113 are in agreement with the experimental observation. Our study shows that the isotopes in the mass range 278 l.e. A l.e. …
In this work, the $β$-stable region for Z $\geq$ 90 is proposed. The calculated $β$-stable nuclei in the $β$-stable region are in good agreement with the ones obtained by Möller \emph{et al}.. The half-lives of the nuclei close to the $β$-stable region are calculated and the competition between $α$-decay and $β$-decay is systematically investigated. The calculated half-lives and the suggested decay modes are well in line with the experimental results. The predictions for half-lives and decay modes of the nuclei with Z = 107$-$110 are presented.
The lifetimes of $α$ decays of the recently produced isotopes of the elements 112, 114, 116 and the element $^{294}118$ and of some decay products have been calculated theoretically within the WKB approximation using microscopic $α$-nucleus interaction potentials. These nuclear potentials have been obtained by folding the densities of the $α$ and the daughter nuclei with the M3Y effective interaction, supplemented by a zero-range pseudo-potential for exchange along with the density dependence. Spherical charge distributions have been used for calculating the Coulomb interaction potentials. The…
In this work study on alpha decay chains emerging from isotopes of Z = 122 superheavy nuclei is carried out with emphasize on nuclear deformations and Langer modification. The interest in this particular superheavy nuclei is due to the recent experimental efforts to synthesize the isotope ^{299}120 in a fusion reaction at the velocity filter SHIP (GSI Darmstadt), which makes synthesis of Z = 122 nuclei to occur in the near future, and in turn will give the experimentalist the chance observe the decays associated with the isotopes of this nuclei. We perform our calculations by choosing the Wood…
Superheavy nuclei are investigated in a nonlinear chiral SU(3)-model. The proton number Z=120 and neutron numbers of N=172, 184 and 198 are predicted to be magic. The charge distributions and alpha-decay chains hint towards a hollow structure.
The concept of heavy particle radioactivity (HPR) is changed to allow emitted particles with Z_e>28 from parents with Z>110 and daughter around 208Pb. Calculations for superheavy (SH) nuclei with Z=104-124 are showing a trend toward shorter half-lives and larger branching ratio relative to alpha decay for heavier SHs. It is possible to find regions in which HPR is stronger than alpha decay. The new mass table AME11 and the theoretical KTUY05 and FRDM95 masses are used to determine the released energy. For 124 we found isotopes with half-lives in the range of ns to ps.
We have investigated most stable superheavy nuclei by studying the decay properties such as alpha decay, cluster decay and spontaneous fission. We have investigated nine stable nuclei in the island of stability which can be detected through fission are 318123(10.5ms), 319123(4.68μs), 317124(1.74x104 y), 318124(2.70x101 y), 319124(2.83x10-2 y), 320124(1.91x10-5 y), 319125(2.46x109 y), 320125(3.81x106 y) and 321125(3.99x103 y). Present work also investigates three stable superheavy nuclei which can be detected through alpha decay which are 318125(1.03x1012 y), 319126(5.77x1011 y) and 320126(3.99…
The alpha-decay half-lives of recently synthesized superheavy nuclei (SHN) are investigated based on a unified fission model (UFM) where a new method to calculate the assault frequency of alpha-emission is used. The excellent agreement with the experimental data indicates the UFM is a useful tool to investigate these alpha-decays. It is found that the half-lives become more and more insensitive to the Q_alpha values as the atomic number increases on the whole, which is favorable for us to predict the half-lives of SHN. In addition, a formula is suggested to compute the Q_alpha values for the n…
A formula for the relationship between the $α$-decay energies ($Q$ values) of superheavy nuclei (SHN) is presented, which is composed of the effects of Coulomb energy and symmetry energy. It can be employed not only to validate the experimental observations and measurements to a large extent, but also to predict the $Q$ values of heaviest SHN with a high accuracy generally which will be very useful for future experiments. Furthermore, the shell closures in superheavy region and the effect of the symmetry energy on the stability of SHN against $α$-decay are discussed with the help of this formu…
The alpha decay half-lives of the recently produced isotopes of the 112, 114, 116 and 118 nuclei and decay products have been calculated in the quasi-molecular shape path using the experimental Qalpha value and a Generalized Liquid Drop Model including the proximity effects between nucleons in the neck or the gap between the nascent fragments. Reasonable estimates are obtained for the observed alpha decay half-lives. The results are compared with calculations using the Density-Dependent M3Y effective interaction and the Viola-Seaborg-Sobiczewski formulae. Generalized Liquid Drop Model predicti…
New superheavy nuclei are often identified through their characteristic $α$-decay energies, which requires accurate calculations of $Q_α$ values. While many $Q_α$ predictions are available, little is known about their uncertainties, and this makes it difficult to carry out extrapolations to yet-unknown systems. This work aims to analyze several models, compare their predictions to available experimental data, and study their performance for the unobserved $α$-decay chains of $^{296}$120 and $^{298}$120, which are of current experimental interest. Our quantified results will also serve as a ben…
The alpha decay half-lives of recently synthesized superheavy nuclei (SHN) are calculated by applying a new approach which estimates them with the help of their neighbors based on some simple formulas. The estimated half-life values are in very good agreement with the experimental ones, indicating the reliability of the experimental observations and measurements to a large extent as well as the predictive power of our approach. The second part of this work is to test the applicability of the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation for the quantum mechanical tunneling probability. We calc…
Masses of superheavy (SH) nuclei with $Z=98-128$, including odd and odd-odd nuclei, are systematically calculated within the microscopic-macroscopic model based on the deformed Woods-Saxon potential. Ground states are found by minimizing energy over deformations and configurations. Pairing in odd particle-number systems is treated either by blocking or by adding the BCS energy of the odd quasiparticle. Three new parameters are introduced which may be interpreted as the constant mean pairing energies for even-odd, odd-even and odd-odd nuclei. They are adjusted by a fit to masses of heavy nuclei…
Octupole deformed shapes in neutron-rich actinides and superheavy nuclei as well as extremely deformed shapes of the N~Z light nuclei have been investigated within the framework of covariant density functional theory. We confirmed the presence of new region of octupole deformation in neutron-rich actinides with the center around Z~96, N~196 but our calculations do not predict octupole deformation in the ground states of superheavy Z~108 nuclei. As exemplified by the study of 36Ar, the nodal structure of the wavefunction of occupied single-particle orbitals in extremely deformed structures allo…
The recently observed $α$-decay chains $^{293-294}117$ were produced by the fusion reactions with target $^{249}Bk$ and projectile $^{48}Ca$ at Dubna in Russia. The reported cross-sections for the mentioned reaction are $σ=0.5(+1.1,-0.4)$pb and $σ$=1.3(+1.5,-0.6)$pb$ at $E^{*}=35MeV$ and $E^{*}=39MeV$, respectively. The Q-values of $α$-decay and the half-lives $Log_{10}T^α_{1/2}$(s) are calculated for the $α$-decay chains of $^{293-294}117$ nuclei, within the framework of Isospin Cluster Model (ICM). In the ICM model the proximity energy is improved by using the isospin dependent radius of par…
A systematic study on the alpha decay half lives of various isotopes of superheavy element \textit{Z} = 121 within the range 290 $\leq$ A $\leq$ 339 is presented for the first time using Coulomb and proximity potential model for deformed nuclei (CPPMDN). The calculated $α$ decay half lives of the isotopes within our formalism match well with the values computed using Viola-Seaborg systematic, Universal curve of Poenaru et al., and the analytical formula of Royer. In our study by comparing the $α$ decay half lives with the spontaneous fission half lives, we have predicted $2α$ chain from $^{309…
We systematically calculate the spontaneous fission half-lives for heavy and superheavy nuclei between U and Fl isotopes. The spontaneous fission process is studied within the semi-empirical WKB approximation. The potential barrier is obtained using a generalized liquid drop model, taking into account the nuclear proximity, the mass asymmetry, the phenomenological pairing correction, and the microscopic shell correction. Macroscopic inertial-mass function has been employed for the calculation of the fission half-life. The results reproduce rather well the experimental data. Relatively long hal…
Weak decays in superheavy nuclei with proton numbers Z = 118 - 120 and neutron numbers N = 175 - 184 are studied within a microscopic formalism based on deformed self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean-field calculations with pairing correlations. The half-lives of beta+ decay and electron capture are compared with alpha-decay half-lives obtained from phenomenological formulas. The sensitivity of the half-lives to the unknown Q-energies is studied by comparing the results obtained from different approaches for the masses. It is shown that alpha-decay is always dominant in this mass region. Th…
A recently published highly extrapolatable semiempirical shell model mass equation is shown to describe rather well the energies of several seemingly well identified alpha-decay chains with known end product nuclei observed in superheavy elements research. The equation is also applied to the interpretation problem of some recent hot fusion-evaporation experiments with unknown end products and several conceivable reaction channels. Some plausible interpretations are indicated.
Cold reaction valleys in the radioactive decay of superheavy nuclei {286}^112, {292}^114 and {296}^116 are studied taking Coulomb and Proximity Potential as the interacting barrier. It is found that in addition to alpha particle, 8^Be, 14^C, 28^Mg, 34^Si, 50^Ca, etc. are optimal cases of cluster radioactivity since they lie in the cold valleys. Two other regions of deep minima centered on 208^Pb and 132^Sn are also found. Within our Coulomb and Proximity Potential Model half-life times and other characteristics such as barrier penetrability, decay constant for clusters ranging from alpha parti…
Half-lives of beta+ decay and electron capture are studied in some selected superheavy nuclei produced in hot fusion reactions, namely, 290Fl, 293Mc, 294Lv, and 295Ts. The nuclear structure is described microscopically from deformed self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean-field calculations that include pairing correlations. The sensitivity of the half-lives to deformation and to the QEC energies, which are still not determined experimentally, are studied. The results are compared with phenomenological alpha-decay half-lives, showing that the latter decay mode is dominant in this mass region.
In this paper, we have calculated the $α$-decay half-lives of superheavy nuclei with $106 \leq Z \leq 126$ and a neutron number of $150 \leq N \leq 200$ within proximity potentials and deformed-spherical Coulomb potentials by using $WS4$ $α$-decay energy and the semi-classical Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation for penetration probability. Besides, we have included the preformation factor within the cluster-formation model. We have investigated magic numbers and submagic numbers in the mentioned region; with high probability 162, 178, and 184 are predicted as neutron magic numbers. We als…
We have investigated properties of $α$-decay chains of recently produced superheavy elements Z=115 and Z=113 using the new Lagrangian model NL-SV1 with inclusion of the vector self-coupling of $ω$ meson in the framework of the relativistic mean-field theory. It is shown that the experimentally observed alpha-decay energies and half-lives are reproduced well by this Lagrangian model. Further calculations for the heavier elements with Z=117-125 show that these nuclei are superdeformed with a prolate shape in the ground state. A superdeformed shell-closure at Z=118 lends an additional binding and…
A comparison of calculated and experimental Q_alpha values of superheavy even-even nuclei and a few selected odd-N nuclei is presented in the framework of the relativistic mean-field model with the parameterization NL-Z2. Blocking effects are found to be important for a proper description of Q_alpha of odd mass nuclei. The model gives a good overall description of the available experimental data. The mass and charge assignment of the recently measured decay chains from Dubna and Berkeley is in agreement with the predictions of the model. The analysis of the new data does not allow a final conc…
Recent microscopic calculation based on the density functional theory predicts long-lived superheavy elements in a variety of shapes, including spherical, axial and triaxial configurations. Only when N=184 is approached one expects superheavy nuclei that are spherical in their ground states. Magic islands of extra-stability have been predicted to be around Z=114, 124 or, 126 with N=184, and Z=120, with N=172. However, the question of whether the fission-survived superheavy nuclei with high Z and N would live long enough for detection or, undergo alpha-decay in a very short time remains open. I…
The feasibility for the alpha decay and the heavy particle decay from the even-even superheavy (SH) nuclei with Z = 116-124 have been studied within the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM). The Universal formula for cluster decay (UNIV) of Poenaru et al., the Universal Decay Law (UDL) and the Scaling Law of Horoi et al., has also been used for the evaluation of the decay half lives. A comparison of our predicted half lives with the values evaluated using these empirical formulas are in agreement with each other and hence CPPM could be considered as a unified model for alpha and cluste…
Relativistic energy density functionals (REDF) provide a complete and accurate, global description of nuclear structure phenomena. A modern semi-empirical functional, adjusted to the nuclear matter equation of state and to empirical masses of deformed nuclei, is applied to studies of shapes of superheavy nuclei. The theoretical framework is tested in a comparison of calculated masses, quadrupole deformations, and potential energy barriers to available data on actinide isotopes. Self-consistent mean-field calculations predict a variety of spherical, axial and triaxial shapes of long-lived super…
Nuclei with $A>282$ have been studied in the Relativistic Mean Field approach using the force FSU Gold and a zero range pairing interaction. The Euler-Lagrange equations have been solved in the co-ordinate space. Alpha nucleus potential has been constructed with the DDM3Y1 interaction, which has an exponential density dependence, in the double folding model using the nucleon densities in the daughter nucleus and the $α$ particle. Half lives of $α$ decay have been calculated for tunneling of the $α$ particle through the potential barrier in the WKB approximation and assuming a constant preforma…
Spontaneous-fission half-lives of the heaviest even-even nuclei are evaluated and compared with their alpha-decay mode. Calculations of spontaneous-fission half-lives are performed in the dynamical way with potential energy obtained by the macroscopic-microscopic method and the inertia tensor obtained by the cranking approximation. The alpha-decay half-lives are calculated for the same region of nuclei by use of the Viola and Seaborg formula. The ground-state properties such as mean square radii and electric quadrupole moments are also studied. From the analysis of spontaneous-fission half-lif…
The barriers standing against the formation of superheavy elements and their consecutive $α$ decay have been determined in the quasimolecular shape path within a Generalized Liquid Drop Model including the proximity effects between nucleons in a neck, the mass and charge asymmetry, a precise nuclear radius and the shell effects given by the Droplet Model. For moderately asymmetric reactions double-hump potential barriers stand and fast fission of compact shapes in the outer well is possible. Very asymmetric reactions lead to one hump barriers which can be passed only with a high energy relativ…
We computed a new set of static fission properties suited for r-process calculations. The potential energy surfaces and collective inertias of 3640 nuclei in the superheavy region are obtained from Self-Consistent Mean-Field calculations using the Barcelona-Catania-Paris-Madrid energy density functional. The fission path is computed as a function of the quadrupole moment by minimizing the potential energy and exploring octupole and hexadecapole deformations. The spontaneous fission lifetimes are evaluated employing different schemes for the collective inertias and vibrational energy correction…
Potential energy surfaces of even-even superheavy nuclei are evaluated within the macroscopic-microscopic approximation. A very rapidly converging analytical Fourier-type shape parametrization is used to describe nuclear shapes throughout the periodic table, including those of fissioning nuclei. The Lublin Strasbourg Drop and another effective liquid-drop type mass formula are used to determine the macroscopic part of nuclear energy. The Yukawa-folded single-particle potential, the Strutinsky shell-correction method, and the BCS approximation for including pairing correlations are used to obta…
Theoretical estimates for the lifetimes of several isotopes of heavy elements with Z=102-120 are presented by calculating the quantum mechanical tunneling probability in a WKB framework and using microscopic nucleus-nucleus potential obtained by folding the densities of interacting nuclei with the DDM3Y effective nuclear interaction. The $α$-decay half lives calculated in this formalism using the experimental $Q$-values are in good agreement over a wide range of experimental data. Half lives are also calculated using $Q$-values extracted from two mass formulae. The Viola-Seaborg-Sobiczewski (V…
The cluster decay process in $^{270-318}$118 superheavy nuclei has been studied extensively within the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM), thereby investigating the probable cluster decays from the various isotopes of $Z = 118$. On comparing the predicted decay half lives with the values evaluated using the Universal formula for cluster decay (UNIV) of Poenaru et al., the Universal Decay Law (UDL) of Qi et al., and the Scaling Law of Horoi et al., it was seen that, our values matches well with these theoretical values. A comparison of the predicted alpha decay half life of the experi…
The production cross sections of heaviest isotopes of superheavy nuclei with charge numbers 112--118 are predicted in the $xn$--, $pxn$--, and $αxn$--evaporation channels of the $^{48}$Ca-induced complete fusion reactions for future experiments. The estimates of synthesis capabilities are based on a uniform and consistent set of input nuclear data. Nuclear masses, deformations, shell corrections, fission barriers, and decay energies are calculated within the macroscopic-microscopic approach for even-even, odd-Z, and odd-N nuclei. For odd systems, the blocking procedure is used. To find, the gr…
The $α$- decay half-lives of the superheavy nuclei are systematically studied using different versions of proximity potential and a exact method to calculate Coulomb potential between spherical and deformed nuclei in the framework of the double folding model. To reproduce the $α$-decay half-life, the experimental $α$-decay energy and Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation have been used. It is found that the computed values by the Ng$\hat{o}$ 80 are in good compromise with the experimental half-lives in comparison with other versions. Also, by using this version and within $Q_{WS4}$ for deter…
For $α$ decay half-life calculations in this work, the Coulomb and proximity potential model with a new semiempirical formula for diffuseness parameter developed in previous work [Phys. Rev. C 100, 024601 (2019)] is used. The present model in this work is compared with the generalized liquid-drop model (GLDM), universal decay law (UDL), and experimental half-lives in the region $Z=104-118$. Next, the predicted half-lives of 51 superheavy nuclei (SHN) with $Z=122-125$ by the present model are compared with those of GLDM, and UDL. The present model is revealed to be more accurate in reproducing …
A detailed understanding of complete fusion cross sections in heavy-ion collisions requires a consideration of the effects of the deformation of the projectile and target. Our aim here is to show that deformation and orientation of the colliding nuclei have a very significant effect on the fusion-barrier height and on the compactness of the touching configuration. To facilitate discussions of fusion configurations of deformed nuclei, we develop a classification scheme and introduce a notation convention for these configurations. We discuss particular deformations and orientations that lead to …

Nuclear pairing interaction plays a crucial role in both macroscopic-microscopic and fully macroscopic descriptions of nuclei. In the present study we discuss different pairing interactions (monopole and delta pairing forces) and the methods allowing for the particle number symmetry restoration in addition to the customary BCS treatment of pairing correlations in the context of $α$-decay half-lives for superheavy nuclei. The calculations are done in the macroscopic-microscopic framework for even-even nuclei with Z > 110.
Existing experimental facilities limit the possibilities for discovery of new nuclides to those synthesized with cross sections above 100 fb, but the perspectives for future high current accelerators could lower this limit by two orders of magnitude. Therefore, in the present work excitation functions for fusion-$xn$ evaporation reaction channels induced not only by $^{48}Ca$ but also by heavier projectiles (usually leading to smaller cross sections) on actinide targets were calculated in the framework of the fusion-by-diffusion (FBD) model. For the first time, in this approach, channels in wh…
We present a microscopic calculation of alpha-cluster formation in heavy nuclei by using the quartetting wave function approach. The interaction of the quartet with the core nucleus is taken in local density approximation. The alpha-cluster formation is found to be particularly sensitive to the interplay of the mean field felt by the alpha-cluster and the Pauli blocking as a consequence of antisymmetrization. The striking feature of alpha-cluster formation probability across the major shell closures of 82 protons and 126 neutrons is reproduced. The shell (or subshell) effects on the alpha-clus…
We present a microscopic model for the calculation of alpha-decay half lives employing potentials obtained from relativistic and non-relativistic self-consistent mean-field models. The nuclear and Coulomb potentials are used to obtain the tunneling probability and, in one model variant, also the knocking frequency. The model contains only one parameter. We compare this approach employing several modern mean-field parametrizations to experimental data and to the semi-empirical Viola-Seaborg systematics. We extrapolate our model to superheavy nuclei where assumptions entering semi-empirical appr…
We determine ground-state and saddle-point shapes and masses of even-even superheavy nuclei in the range of proton numbers $98\leq Z \leq 126$ and neutron numbers $134\leq N \leq 192$. Our study is performed within the microscopic-macroscopic method. The Strutinsky shell and pairing correction is calculated for the deformed Woods-Saxon single-particle potential and the Yukawa-plus-exponential energy is taken as a smooth part. We use parameters of the model that were fitted previously to this region of nuclei. A high-dimensional deformation space, including nonaxial and reflection-asymmetric sh…
