These proceedings complement with new material the original paper, arXiv:1903.11661, and the subsequent arXiv:1910.06858, arXiv:2002.06904. On popular demand we have included again a list of models explaining the excesses
The CMS collaboration reported an intriguing \sim 3 sigma (local) excess at 96 GeV in the light Higgs-boson search in the diphoton decay mode. This mass coincides with a \sim 2 sigma (local) excess in the bb final state at LEP. We briefly review the proposed combined interpretations for the two excesses. In more detail we review the interpretation of this possible signal as the lightest Higgs boson in the 2 Higgs Doublet Model with an additional real Higgs singlet (N2HDM). We show which channels have the best prospects for the discovery of additional Higgs bosons at the upcoming Run 3 of the LHC.
The 750 GeV diphoton excess at the LHC and dark matter constraints
We propose a new search for Dark Matter at the LHC, characteristic of scenarios beyond the Standard Model with a pseudoscalar portal between the visible and dark sectors. This search, leading to a $\bar{b} b Z( \rightarrow \ell\ell) + E_{T} \hspace{-4mm}/\hspace{2mm}$ final state, reaches large regions of parameter space not probed by Dark Matter searches via multi-jet $+ E_{T} \hspace{-4mm}/\hspace{2mm}$, searches for new scalars and flavour bounds. We show that this search could be used to test the Dark Matter origin of the gamma ray Galactic Centre excess with LHC Run 2 data.
During the run III of the LHC, the forward experiments FASER$ν$ and SND@LHC will be able to detect the Charged Current (CC) interactions of the high energy neutrinos of all three flavors produced at the ATLAS Interaction Point (IP). This opportunity may unravel mysteries of the third generation leptons. We build three models that can lead to a tau excess at these detectors through the following Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) beyond Standard Model (SM) processes: (1) $π^+ \to μ^+ ν_τ$; (2) $π^+ \to μ^+ \barν_τ$ and (3) $ν_e+{\rm nucleus}\to τ+X$. We comment on the possibility of solving the $(g-…
Even if the LHC observations are consistent with the Standard model (SM), current LHC results are not precise enough to rule out the presence of new physics. Taking a contrarian view of the SM Higgs fandom, we look out for a more suitable candidate for the 125 GeV boson observed at the LHC. At the same time, a recent result from CMS hints towards an excess near 95 GeV in the diphoton ($γγ$) channel. Given these aspects, we revisit the Higgs-radion mixing model to explore the viability of the radion mixed Higgs to be the 125 GeV boson along with the presence of a light radion (to be precise Hig…
The tau lepton plays important role in distinguishing neutrino mass patterns and determining the chirality nature in heavy scalar mediated neutrino mass models, in the light of the neutrino oscillation experiments and its polarization measurement. We investigate the lepton flavor signatures with tau lepton at LHC upgrades, i.e. HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC-hh, through leptonic processes from doubly charged Higgs in the Type II Seesaw. We find that for the channel with one tau lepton in final states, the accessible doubly charged Higgs mass at HL-LHC can reach 655 GeV and 695 GeV for the neutrino mas…

The CMS collaboration reported an intriguing $\sim 3 \, σ$ (local) excess at $96\;$GeV in the light Higgs-boson search in the diphoton decay mode. This mass coincides with a $\sim 2 \, σ$ (local) excess in the $b\bar b$ final state at LEP. We present the interpretation of this possible signal as the lightest Higgs boson in the 2 Higgs Doublet Model with an additional real Higgs singlet (N2HDM). We show that the type II and type IV (flipped) of the N2HDM can perfectly accommodate both excesses simultaneously, while being in agreement with all experimental and theoretical constraints. The excess…
Combining the multi-lepton searches at the LHC, we study the possibilities of accommodating the new data of muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies in the lepton-specific inert two-Higgs-doublet model. We take the heavy CP-even Higgs as the 125 GeV Higgs, and find the muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies can be explained simultaneously in the region of 5 GeV $< m_h<60$ GeV, 200 GeV $<m_A< 620$ GeV, 190 GeV $<m_{H^\pm}< 620$ GeV for appropriate Yukawa couplings between leptons and inert Higgs. Meanwhile, the model can give a better fit to the data of lepton universality in $τ$ decays than the SM. Furthe…
The recent measurement of muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (muon $g-2$) suggests that there might exist new physics that dominantly interacts with muons. The observed gamma-ray excess from Fermi-LAT indicates that dark matter annihilates into a specific charged fermions. We propose a successful model simultaneously to explain the Fermi-LAT GeV gamma-ray excess and sizable muon $g-2$ with a modular $A_4$ symmetry. Due to nature of this symmetry, our DM only interacts with pairs of muon and we explain sizable muon $g-2$ without suffering from constraints of any lepton flavor violations. We …
We explore the Higgs mass spectrum in a class of Two Higgs Doublet Models (THDMs) in which a scalar SU(2)_L doublet interacts only with quarks, while the second one interacts only with leptons. The spectrum includes two CP-even Higgs bosons, either of which can account for the SM-like Higgs boson, and the spectra involving light Higgs bosons receive strong impacts from the LEP results and the current collider analyses. We find that a consistent spectrum can involve a CP-odd Higgs boson as light as about 10 GeV, while the lightest CP-even Higgs boson cannot be lighter than about 55 GeV when m_A…
Recently the CMS collaboration reported a $\sim 3 σ$ local excess in the di-photon spectrum at 96 GeV. The same mass range concurs with a $\sim2 σ$ local excess in the $b\bar{b}$ invariant mass spectrum in four-jet events collected at LEP. In this contribution we show that at 1$σ$ level the 2HDM type-III can perfectly fit both excesses simultaneously, while satisfying all experimental and theoretical constraints.
