We consider a U(1)$_X$ gauge symmetry extension of the Standard Model (SM) with a $Z^\prime$-portal Majorana fermion dark matter that allows for a relatively light gauge boson $Z^\prime$ with mass of 10 MeV$-$ a few GeV and a much heavier dark matter through the freeze-in mechanism. In a second scenario the roles are reversed, and the dark matter mass, in the keV range or so, lies well below the $Z^\prime$ mass, say, $\sim 1$ GeV. We outline the parameter space that can be explored for these two scenarios at the future Lifetime Frontier experiments including Belle-II, FASER, LDMX and SHiP.
We consider a concise dark matter scenario in the minimal gauged $B-L$ extension of the Standard Model (SM), where the global $B-L$ (baryon number minus lepton number) symmetry in the SM is gauged, and three generations of right-handed neutrinos and a $B-L$ Higgs field are introduced. Associated with the $B-L$ gauge symmetry breaking by a VEV of the $B-L$ Higgs field, the seesaw mechanism for generating the neutrino mass is automatically implemented after the electroweak symmetry breaking in the SM. In this model context, we introduce a $Z_2$-parity and assign an odd parity for one right-hande…
In this review article, we consider a dark matter scenario in the context of the minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM) with a $B-L$ (baryon number minus lepton number) gauge symmetry, where three right-handed neutrinos with a $B-L$ charge $-1$ and a $B-L$ Higgs field with a $B-L$ charge $+2$ are introduced to make the model anomaly-free and to break the $B-L$ gauge symmetry, respectively. The $B-L$ gauge symmetry breaking generates the Majorana masses for the right-handed neutrinos. We introduce a Z$_2$ symmetry to the model and assign an odd parity only for one right-handed neutrino, a…
Dark matter is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in cosmology at the present time. About 80% of the universe's gravitating matter is non-luminous, and its nature and distribution are for the most part unknown. In this paper, we will outline the history, astrophysical evidence, candidates, and detection methods of dark matter, with the goal to give the reader an accessible but rigorous introduction to the puzzle of dark matter. This review targets advanced students and researchers new to the field of dark matter, and includes an extensive list of references for further study.
We present a novel study of the non-abelian vector dark matter candidate $W^\prime$ with a MeV$-$GeV low mass range, accompanied by a dark photon $A^\prime$ and a dark $Z^\prime$ of similar masses in the context of a simplified gauged two-Higgs-doublet model. The model is scrutinized by taking into account various experimental constraints including dark photon searches, electroweak precision data, relic density of dark matter together with its direct and indirect searches, mono-jet and Higgs collider physics from LHC. The viable parameter space of the model consistent with all experimental and…
A massive $U(1)^{\prime}$ gauge boson known as a "dark photon" or $A^{\prime}$, has long been proposed as a potential explanation for the discrepancy observed between the experimental measurement and theoretical determination of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, ($g_μ - 2$) anomaly. Recently, experimental results have excluded this possibility for a dark photon exhibiting exclusively visible or invisible decays. In this work, we revisit this idea and consider a model where $A^{\prime}$ couples inelastically to dark matter and an excited dark sector state, leading to a more exotic deca…
We study the discovery potential of the Tevatron for a Z-prime gauge boson. We introduce a parametrization of the Z-prime signal which provides a convenient bridge between collider searches and specific Z-prime models. The cross section for p pbar -> Z-prime X -> l^+ l^- X depends primarily on the Z-prime mass and the Z-prime decay branching fraction into leptons times the average square coupling to up and down quarks. If the quark and lepton masses are generated as in the standard model, then the Z-prime bosons accessible at the Tevatron must couple to fermions proportionally to a linear comb…
Recently a gauged two Higgs doublet model, in which the two Higgs doublets are embedded into the fundamental representation of an extra local $SU(2)_H$ group, is constructed. Both the new gauge bosons $Z^\prime$ and $W^{\prime (p,m)}$ are electrically neutral. While $Z^\prime$ can be singly produced at colliders, $W^{\prime (p,m)}$, which is heavier, must be pair produced. We explore the constraints of $Z^\prime$ using the current Drell-Yan type data from the Large Hadron Collider. Anticipating optimistically that $Z^\prime$ can be discovered via the clean Drell-Yan type signals at high lumino…
In the present paper, it is assumed that there exist two species of dark matter: a heavy dark matter particle (HDM) with the mass of O(TeV) which is generated in early universe and a lighter dark matter particle (LDM) which is a relativistic product due to the decay of HDM. HDMs, captured by the earth, decay to high energy LDMs, and these particles can be measured by km$^3$ neutrino telescopes, like the IceCube detector. A $Z^{\prime}$ portal dark matter model is taken for LDMs to interact with nuclei via a neutral current interaction mediated by a heavy gauge boson $Z^{\prime}$. With the diff…
We consider a concise dark matter (DM) scenario in the context of a non-exotic U(1) extension of the Standard Model (SM), where a new U(1)$_X$ gauge symmetry is introduced along with three generation of right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) and an SM gauge singlet Higgs field. The model is a generalization of the minimal gauged U(1)$_{B-L}$ (baryon number minus lepton number) extension of the SM, in which the extra U(1)$_X$ gauge symmetry is expressed as a linear combination of the SM U(1)$_Y$ and U(1)$_{B-L}$ gauge symmetries. We introduce a $Z_2$-parity and assign an odd-parity only for one RHN amon…
We consider a dark sector with $SU(3)_C \times U(1)_Y \times U(1)_X$ and three families of dark fermions that are chiral under dark $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry, whereas scalar dark matter $X$ is the SM singlet. $U(1)_X$ dark symmetry is spontaneously broken by nonzero VEV of dark Higgs field $\langle Φ\rangle$, generating the masses of dark fermions and dark photon $Z^\prime$. The resulting dark Higgs boson $ϕ$ can be produced at the LHC by dark quark loop (involving 3 generation) and will decay into a pair of photon through charged dark fermion loop. Its decay width can be easily $\sim 45$ GeV du…
We propose a search for dark photons $A^{\prime}$ at the LHCb experiment using the charm meson decay $D^*(2007)^0 \!\to D^0 A^{\prime}$. At nominal luminosity, $D^{*0} \!\to D^0 γ$ decays will be produced at about 700kHz within the LHCb acceptance, yielding over 5 trillion such decays during Run 3 of the LHC. Replacing the photon with a kinetically-mixed dark photon, LHCb is then sensitive to dark photons that decay as $A^{\prime}\!\to e^+e^-$. We pursue two search strategies in this paper. The displaced strategy takes advantage of the large Lorentz boost of the dark photon and the excellent v…
We propose a vector dark matter model with an exotic dark SU(2) gauge group. Two Higgs triplets are introduced to spontaneously break the symmetry. All of the dark gauge bosons become massive, and the lightest one is a viable vector DM candidate. Its stability is guaranteed by a remaining Z_2 symmetry. We study the parameter space constrained by the Higgs measurement data, the dark matter relic density, and direct and indirect detection experiments. We find numerous parameter points satisfying all the constraints, and they could be further tested in future experiments. Similar methodology can …
New gauge bosons at the MeV scale with tiny gauge couplings (so-called dark photons) can be responsible for the freeze-in production of dark matter and provide a clear target for present and future experiments. We study the effects of thermal mixing between dark photons and Standard Model gauge bosons and of the resulting plasmon decays on dark matter production before and after the electroweak phase transition. In the parameter regions preferred by the observed dark matter relic abundance, the dark photon is sufficiently long-lived to be probed with fixed-target experiments and light enough t…
Current searches for dark matter at the LHC focus on mono-X signatures: the production of dark matter in association with a Standard Model (SM) particle. The simplest benchmark introduces a massive spin-1 mediator, the $Z^\prime$ boson, between the dark matter $χ$ and the SM. Limits derived from mono-X channels are most effective when the mediator can decay into two on-shell dark matter particles: $M_{Z'}\gtrsim 2M_χ$. We broaden the experimental reach into the complementary region, where the $Z^\prime$ mediator is much lighter than the dark matter. In this scenario the $Z^\prime$ mediates an …
Search for the production of dark matter in the framework of Mono-Z$^{\prime}$ portal at the ILC simulated electron-positron collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 500$ GeV
High energy positron annihilation is a viable mechanism to produce dark photons ($A^\prime$). This reaction plays a significant role in beam-dump experiments using experiments using multi-GeV electron-beams on thick targets by enhancing the sensitivity to $A^\prime$ production. The positrons produced by the electromagnetic shower can produce an $A^\prime$ via non-resonant ($e^+ + e^- \to γ+ A^\prime$) and resonant ($e^+ + e^- \to A^\prime$) annihilation on atomic electrons. For visible decays, the contribution of resonant annihilation results in a larger sensitivity with respect to limits deri…
Baryon and lepton numbers being accidental global symmetries of the Standard Model (SM), it is natural to promote them to local symmetries. However, to preserve anomaly freedom, only combinations of B-L are viable. In this spirit, we investigate possible dark matter realizations in the context of the $U(1)_{B-L}$ model: (i) Dirac fermion with unbroken B-L; (ii) Dirac fermion with broken B-L; (iii) scalar dark matter; (iv) two component dark matter. We compute the relic abundance, direct and indirect detection observables and confront them with recent results from Planck, LUX-2016, and Fermi-LA…
The new gauge boson $Z^{\prime}$ predicted by the strong top dynamical symmetry breaking models has significant contributions to the lepton flavor changing process $μ\longrightarrow 3e $. We consider the bound on the mass of the new gauge boson $Z^{\prime}$ from the experimental value of the branching ratio $Br(μ\longrightarrow 3e)$ in the framework of topcolor assisted technicolor models. We find that the precision experimental value of $Br(μ\longrightarrow 3e)$ gives a severe bound on the $Z^{\prime}$ mass $M_{Z^{\prime}}$. For $k_1 \leq 1$, $M_{Z^{\prime}}$ must be larger than 1.64 $TeV$.
We analyse supersymmetric models augmented by an extra $U(1)$ gauge group. To avoid anomalies in these models without introducing exotics, we allow for family-dependent $U(1)^\prime$ charges, and choose a simple form for these, dependent on one $U(1)^\prime$ charge parameter only. With this choice, $Z^\prime$ decays into di-taus but not di-leptons, weakening considerably the constraints on its mass. In the supersymmetric sector, the effect is to lower the singlino mass, allowing it to be the dark matter candidate. We investigate the dark matter constraints and collider implications of such mod…
In view of ongoing measurements of the Higgs-like boson at the LHC and direct searches for dark matter, we explore the possibility of accommodating the potential results in a simple new-physics model with discrete gauge symmetry as well as light neutrino masses. Specifically, we study collider and relic-density constraints on the new gauge coupling, predict the cross section of the dark matter scattering off nucleons, and compare it with current direct search data. We also discuss some of the implications if the dark matter is light. The new gauge sector of the model allows it to be compatible…
We consider simple dark matter extensions of the standard model in $Z^\prime$ portal scenarios inspired by grand unification theory constructions and we study the phenomenology of such models by considering Spin Dependent and Spin Independent direct detection constraints, confronting the canonical thermally produced dark matter scenario and we show that in this simple framework the combination and the complementary of these constraints is a powerful tool to derive stringent bounds and to reduce the viable parameter space of the model.
We consider a $U(1)_{B-L}$ model with a $Z^\prime$ portal Dirac fermion dark matter (DM) $χ$ of low mass which couples very weakly to the $B - L$ gauge boson $Z^\prime$. An arbitrary $B-L$ charge $Q\neq \pm1, \pm 3$ of the DM $χ$ ensures its stability. Motivated by the sensitivity reach of forthcoming "Lifetime Frontier" experiments, we focus on the $Z^\prime$ mass, $m_{Z^\prime}$, in the sub-GeV to few GeV range. To evaluate the DM relic abundance, we examine both the freeze-out and freeze-in DM scenarios. For the freeze-out scenario, we show that the observed DM abundance is reproduced near …
$Z^\prime$ boson as a new gauge boson has been proposed in many new physics models. The interactions of $Z^\prime$ coupling to fermions are detailed studied at the large hadron collider. A $Z^\prime$ with the mass of a few TeV has been excluded in some special models. The future lepton colliders will focus on the studies of Higgs physics which provide the advantage to investigate the interactions of Higgs boson with the new gauge bosons. We investigate the $Z^\prime ZH$ interaction via the process of $e^+e^- \to Z^\prime/Z \to ZH \to l^+l^- b \bar{b}$. The angular distribution of the final lep…
We introduce a light dark photon $A_μ^\prime$ to the minimal Higgs portal model, by coupling the Higgs boson to "dark QED" containing fermionic dark matter, which gives rise to rich and interesting collider phenomenology. There are two prominent features in such a simple extension -- the Higgs boson could have decays into the long-lived dark photon through the "mono-$A^\prime$ channel," or into multiple collimated leptons via "darkonium," depending on the mixing parameter of the $A_μ^\prime$ with the visible photon. We initiate a study on the possibility of probing the parameter space of the m…
We consider scenarios with a heavy $Z^\prime$ gauge boson with flavour non-universal quark and lepton couplings with the goal to illustrate how the cancellation of gauge anomalies generated by the additional U(1)$^\prime$ gauge symmetry would imply correlations between FCNC processes in the quark sector, in the lepton sector and most interestingly between quark flavour and lepton flavour violating processes. We present scenarios with only left-handed flavour-violating $Z^\prime$ couplings and those with also right-handed flavour-violating couplings. These are characterized by a small number of…
New heavy gauge bosons exist in many models of new physics beyond the standard model of particle physics. Discovery of these W^\prime and Z^\prime resonances and the establishment of their spins, couplings, and other quantum numbers would shed light on the gauge structure of the new physics. The measurement of the polarization of the SM fermions from the gauge boson decays would decipher the handedness of the coupling of the new states, an important relic of the primordial new physics symmetry. Since the top quark decays promptly, its decay preserves spin information. We show how decays of new…
We perform a detailed analysis of dark matter signals of supersymmetric models containing an extra $U(1)^\prime$ gauge group. We investigate scenarios in which either the right sneutrino or the lightest neutralino are phenomenologically acceptable dark matter candidates and we explore the parameter spaces of different supersymmetric realisations featuring an extra $U(1)^\prime$. We impose consistency with low energy observables, with known mass limits for the superpartners and $Z^\prime$ bosons, as well as with Higgs boson signal strengths, and we moreover verify that predictions for the anoma…
This analysis shows a search for dark fermion particles produced in association with a heavy neutral gauge boson (Z$^{\prime}$). The studied events topology are dimuon and a large missing transverse momentum. %We considered the muonic decay of Z$^{\prime}$. The analyzed data were the Open Data collected by the CMS detector in proton-proton collisions at the LHC in 2012 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 11.6 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV. One benchmark scenario the light vector was used for interpreting the data, based on a simplified model so called the mono-Z$^{\prime}$ model. …
We attribute deviations of the muon and electron magnetic moments from the theoretical predictions to the presence of an additional $U(1)^\prime$ supersymmetric model. We interpret the discrepancies between the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments to be due to the presence of non-universal $U(1)^\prime$ charges. In a minimally extended model, we show that requiring both deviations to be satisfied imposes constraints on the spectrum of the model, in particular on dark matter candidates and slepton masses and ordering. Choosing three benchmarks with distinct dark matter features, we stud…
We discuss the specificity of the interactions of the electroweak gauge boson excitations in models with warped extra dimensions. In particular, we show that the couplings of the gauge boson excitations $W^{\prime}$, $Z^{\prime}$, and $γ^\prime$ to the SM gauge bosons treated as the zero modes of the 5D gauge fields are either exactly equal to zero or very much suppressed. In the former case, the three-particle and four-particle interaction Lagrangians of the SM gauge bosons and their lowest excitations are found explicitly. Meanwhile, the couplings of $W^{\prime}$, $Z^{\prime}$, and $γ^\prime…
A sector with QCD-like strong dynamics is common in models of non-standard physics. Such a model could be accessible in LHC searches if both confinement and big-quarks charged under the confining group are at the TeV scale. Big-quark masses at this scale can be explained if the new fermions are chiral under a new $U(1)^\prime$ gauge symmetry such that their bare masses are related to the $U(1)^\prime$-breaking and new confinement scales. Here we present a study of a minimal GUT-motivated and gauge anomaly-free model with implications for the LHC Run 2 searches. We find that the first signature…
A wide range of models beyond the Standard Model predict charged and neutral resonances, generically called $W'$- and $Z'$-bosons, respectively. We present a study of the impact of such resonances on the deep inelastic scattering of ultra-high energy neutrinos as well as on the resonant charged current $\barν_e e^-$ scattering (Glashow resonance). We find that the effects of such resonances can not be observed with the Pierre Auger Observatory or any foreseeable upgrade of it.
Many models, such as topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) models and flavor-universal TC2 models, predict the existence of extra U(1) gauge bosons $Z^{\prime}$, which couple preferentially to the third generation. The lepton flavor violating (LFV) signals of these new particles at the future $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders (LCs) are discussed via calculating its contributions to the LFV process $e^{+}e^{-}\toμτ$. We calculate the cross section of this process and discuss its dependence on the beam polarization. The ratio of signal over square root of the background $(S/\sqrt{B})$ is also calculated. The…
A novel mechanism to produce and detect Light Dark Matter in experiments making use of GeV electrons (and positrons) impinging on a thick target (beam-dump) is proposed. The positron-rich environment produced by the electromagnetic shower allows to produce an $A^\prime$ via non-resonant ($e^+ + e^- \to γ+ A^\prime$) and resonant ($e^+ + e^- \to A^\prime$) annihilation on atomic electrons. The latter mechanism, for some selected kinematics, results in a larger sensitivity with respect to limits derived by the commonly used $A^\prime-strahlung$. This idea, applied to Beam Dump Experiments and {\…
A gauged $U(1)_X$ symmetry appended to the Standard Model (SM) is particularly well-motivated since it can account for the light neutrino masses by the seesaw mechanism, explain the origin of baryon asymmetry of the universe via leptogenesis, and help implement successful cosmological inflation with the $U(1)_X$ breaking Higgs field as the inflaton. In this framework, we propose a light dark matter (DM) scenario in which the $U(1)_X$ gauge boson $Z^\prime$ behaves as a DM particle in the universe. We discuss how this scenario with $Z^\prime$ mass of a few keV and a $U(1)_X$ gauge coupling $g_X…
Dirac fermion dark matter models with heavy $Z^{\prime}$ mediators are subject to stringent constraints from spin-independent direct searches and from LHC bounds, cornering them to live near the $Z^{\prime}$ resonance. Such constraints can be relaxed, however, by turning off the vector coupling to Standard Model fermions, thus weakening direct detection bounds, or by resorting to light $Z^{\prime}$ masses, below the Z pole, to escape heavy resonance searches at the LHC. In this work we investigate both cases, as well as the applicability of our findings to Majorana dark matter. We derive colli…
We analyze the prospects for light neutralino dark matter in the minimal supersymmetric model extended by a $U(1)$ gauge group. We allow the neutralino to be an arbitrary admixture of singlet and doublet higgsinos, as well as of the three gauginos, and we require agreement with the data from the direct and indirect dark matter detection experiments, while maintaining consistency of the model with the relic density and with the recent Higgs data from the LHC. The constraints have implications for the structure of the lightest neutralino as a dark matter candidate, indicating that it is largely …
A supersymmetric extension of the $U(1)\times U(1)^{\prime }$-Higgs bosonic superconducting cosmic string model is considered, and the constraints imposed upon such a model due to renormalizability, supersymmetry, and gauge invariance are examined. For a simple model with a single $U(1)$ chiral superfield and a single $% U(1)^{\prime }$ chiral superfield, the Witten mechanism for bosonic superconductivity (giving rise to long range gauge fields outside of the string) does not exist. The simplest model that can accommodate the requisite interactions requires five chiral supermultiplets. This sup…
The decays of $η$ and $η^\prime$ mesons provide unique opportunities for testing the properties of low energy Quantum Chromodynamics and for the search of new physics beyond the Standard Model. However, recent experimental results on the rare decays of $η^{\left(\prime\right)}\rightarrowπ^0\left(η\right)γγ$ cannot be self-consistently described by the combination of the Vector Meson Dominance and Linear Sigma Model employing the same set of parameters. We show that this tension can be attributed to the presence of a leptophobic dark photon $\mathcal{B}$, and find representative values of the p…
We discuss the prospects of probing the $L_μ- L_τ$ gauge boson at the MUonE experiment. The $L_μ- L_τ$ gauge boson $Z^\prime$ with a mass of $\lesssim 200$ MeV, which can explain the discrepancy between the measured value of the muon $g-2$ and the value calculated in the Standard Model, can be produced at the MUonE experiment through the process $μe \to μe Z^\prime$. The $Z^\prime$ in the final state decays into a pair of neutrinos, and therefore we cannot observe the decay of $Z^\prime$ directly. It is, however, still possible to probe this signature by searching for events with a large scatt…
In this work we consider the extension of the standard model by dark fields with an Abelian $U(1)_{d}$ spontaneously broken gauge symmetry in a hidden dark matter scenario. Considering all the dimension four gauge invariant terms we show that the tree-level relation $M^{2}_{W}=M^{2}_{\tilde Z} \cos^{2} \tilde θ_{w}$ holds and permits to write the mixing angle induced by the kinetic mixing in the neutral massive gauge boson sector, $θ_ζ$, in terms of the values of $M_{Z}$, the weak mixing angle and of the mass of the physical dark gauge $Z^{\prime}$ boson. At the loop level, a similar relation …
We now know firmly that neutrinos have tiny masses, but in the minimal Standard Model there is no natural sources for such tiny masses. On the other hand, the extra heavy Z^{\prime 0} requires the extra Higgs field, the particle generating the mass. Here I propose that the previous 2+2 Higgs scenario could be a natural framework for mass generations for both the neutrinos and the extra Z^{\prime)}. These particles are classified as the "dark matter". Hopefully all the couplings to the "visible" matter are through the neutrinos and the extra Z^{\prime 0}, explaining naturally why the dark matte…
The framework of the so-called 3-3-1LHN model may accommodate two different, but viable, scenarios of dark matter: one involving a heavy Dirac neutrino , $N_1$, or another having a scalar, $ϕ$, as dark matter candidate. In both cases the dark matter phenomenology, relic abundance and scattering cross section off of nuclei, is controlled by exchange of $Z^{\prime}$. We then investigate the impact on the parameter space $(M_{Z^{\prime}}\,,\,M_{(N_1\,,\, ϕ)})$ due to the recent Pandax-4T experimental result in both scenarios. First, the Pandax-4T experiment excludes scenarios with dark matter mas…
There are many models beyond the standard model predicting the existence of non-universal gauge bosons $Z^{\prime}$, which can give rise to very rich phenomena. We calculate the contributions of the non-universal gauge bosons $Z^{\prime}$, predicted by topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) models and flavor-universal TC2 models, to the lepton flavor-violation tau decays $τ\to l_{i}γ$ and $τ\to l_{i}l_{j}l_{k}$. We find that the branching ratio $B_{r}(τ\longrightarrow l_{i}l_{j}l_{k})$ is larger than that of the process $τ\longrightarrow l_{i}γ$ in all of the parameter space. Over a sizable regio…
We have witnessed the beginning of an era where dark matter and neutrino detectors can probe similar new physics phenomena. Motivated by the low-energy electron recoil spectrum observed by the dark matter experiment, XENON1T, at Gran Sasso laboratory, we interpret the observed signal not in terms of a dark matter particle, but rather in the context of a new light $Z^\prime$ gauge boson. We discuss how such a light $Z^\prime$ rises in a Two Higgs Doublet Model augmented by an abelian gauge symmetry where neutrino masses and the flavor problem are addressed, in agreement with neutrino-electron s…
We study Q-ball dark matter in gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking, and seek the possibility of detection in the IceCube experiment. We find that the Q balls would be the dark matter in the parameter region different from that for gravitino dark matter. In particular, the Q ball is a good dark matter candidate for low reheating temperature, which may be suitable for the Affleck-Dine baryogenesis and/or nonthermal leptogenesis. Dark matter Q balls are detectable by IceCube-like experiments in the future, which is the peculiar feature compared to the case of gravitino dark matter.
Z' gauge bosons arise in many particle physics models as mediators between the dark and visible sectors. We exploit dark matter complementarity and derive stringent and robust collider, direct and indirect constraints, as well as limits from the muon magnetic moment. We rule out almost the entire region of the parameter space that yields the right dark matter thermal relic abundance, using a generic parametrization of the Z'-fermion couplings normalized to the Standard Model Z-fermion couplings for dark matter masses in the 8 GeV-5 TeV range. We conclude that mediators lighter than 2.1 TeV are…
We provide a simple UV theory for a Dirac dark matter with a massless Abelian gauge boson. We introduce a single fermion transforming as the $\bf{16}$ representation in the SO(10)$'$ gauge group, which is assumed to be spontaneously broken to SU(5)$'\times$U(1)$'$. The SU(5)$'$ gauge interaction becomes strong at an intermediate scale and then we obtain a light composite Dirac fermion with U(1)$'$ gauge interaction at the low-energy scale. Its thermal relic can explain the observed amount of dark matter consistently with other cosmological and astrophysical constraints. We discuss that a nonze…
