We present a model that gives a natural explanation to the charged lepton mass hierarchy and study the contributions to the electron and the muon $g-2$. In the model, we introduce lepton-flavor-dependent $U(1)_F$ symmetry and three additional Higgs doublets with $U(1)_F$ charges, to realize that each generation of charged leptons couples to one of the three additional Higgs doublets. The $U(1)_F$ symmetry is softly broken by $+1$ charges, and the smallness of the soft breaking naturally gives rise to the hierarchy of the Higgs VEVs, which then accounts for the charged lepton mass hierarchy. Since electron and muon couple to different scalar particles, each scalar contributes to the electron and the muon $g-2$ differently. We survey the space of parameters of the Higgs sector and find that there are sets of parameters that explain the muon $g-2$ discrepancy. On the other hand, we cannot find the parameter sets that can explain $g-2$ discrepancy within 2$σ$. Here the $U(1)_F$ symmetry suppresses charged lepton flavor violation.
Neutrino mass hierarchy can be measured in atmospheric neutrino experiments through the observation of earth matter effects. Magnetized iron calorimeters have been shown to be good in this regard due to their charge identification capabilities. The charged current interaction of $ν_μ$ in this detector, produces a muon track and a hadron shower. The direction of the muon track can be measured very accurately. We show the improvement expected in the reach of this class of experiments to the neutrino mass hierarchy, as we improve the muon energy resolution and the muon reconstruction efficiency. …
We propose a renormalizable theory with minimal particle content and symmetries, that successfully explains the number of Standard Model (SM) fermion families, the SM fermion mass hierarchy, the tiny values for the light active neutrino masses, the lepton and baryon asymmetry of the Universe, the dark matter relic density as well as the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments. In the proposed model, the top quark and the exotic fermions do acquire tree-level masses whereas the SM charged fermions lighter than the top quark gain one-loop level masses. Besides that, the tiny masses for the …
Structure of leptons and hadrons within the framework of electrodynamics is considered. Muon and tau-lepton have the structure of 3 electrons. The mass of muon is defined by the section of two-photon annihilation. The mass of tau-lepton is defined by the section of three-photon annihilation. Hadrons are characterized by the structure of 5 electrons. The masses of hadrons are defined via the masses of muon and tau-lepton.
Recently a new method for determining the neutrino mass hierarchy by comparing the effective values of the atmospheric Δm^2 measured in the electron neutrino disappearance channel, Δm^2(ee), with the one measured in the muon neutrino disappearance channel, Δm^2(μμ), was proposed. If Δm^2(ee) is larger (smaller) than Δm^2(μμ) the hierarchy is of the normal (inverted) type. We re-examine this proposition in the light of two very high precision measurements: Δm^2(μμ) that may be accomplished by the phase II of the Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) experiment, for example, and Δm^2(ee) that can be envisaged …
It is shown that a minimal extension of the standard model with leptons that transform as singlets under the SU(2) symmetry of weak interactions can explain the recently reported derivation in the measured value of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon from that expected in the standard model.
The two-loop electroweak corrections to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, generated by fermionic loops, are calculated. An interesting role of the top quark in the anomaly cancellation is observed. New corrections, including terms of order $G_μαm_t^2$, are computed and a class of diagrams previously thought to vanish are found to be important. The total fermionic correction is $-(23\pm 3) \times 10^{-11}$ which decreases the electroweak effects on $g-2$, predicted from one-loop calculations, by 12\%. We give an updated theoretical prediction for $g-2$ of the muon.
We investigate the status of models containing exotic fermions or extra Z-like neutral gauge bosons in the light of the recent data on anomalous magnetic moment of muon. We find that it is possible to extract interesting bounds on the parameters characterizing such models. The bounds are particularly strong if the new flavour-changing neutral currents are axial vectorlike.
It is shown that a fermion mass matrix changing in orientation (rotating) with changing scales can give a simple yet near-quantitative explanation for quark mixing, neutrino oscillations and the fermion mass hierarchy.
We show that a simultaneous explanation for fermionic mass hierarchy among and within the fermionic families, quark-mixing, can be obtained in an extension of the standard model, with real singlet scalar fields, which is UV completed by vector-like fermions and a strongly interacting sector.
We demonstrate the potential of forthcoming mu -> e gamma and mu-e conversion experiments to implicate or disfavor solutions to the gauge hierarchy problem before the advent of the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Solutions of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking, little Higgs, supersymmetry, and extra dimensions are considered. Correlations of mu -> e gamma and mu-e conversion branching ratios are analyzed for discriminating patterns. Measurements of these exotic muon decays may have compelling implications for supersymmetric solutions.
We have studied the mass hierarchy with atmospheric neutrinos considering the muon energy and zenith angle of the event at the magnetized iron calorimeter detector. For $χ^2$ analysis we have migrated the number of events from neutrino energy and zenith angle bins to muon energy and zenith angle bins using the two-dimensional energy-angle correlated resolution functions. The binning of data is made in two-dimensional grids of $\log_{10} E - L^{0.4}$ plane to get a better reflection of the oscillation pattern in the $χ^2$ analysis. Then the $χ^2$ is marginalized considering all possible systema…
We have studied a left-right symmetric model with mirror fermions based in a grand unified SU(7) model in order to account for the muon anomaly. The Higgs sector of the model contains two Higgs doublets and the hierarchy condition $\upsilon_{L}\ll\upsilon_{R}$ can be achieved by using two additional Higgs singlets, one even and other odd under $\mathcal{D}$-parity. We show that there is a wide range of values for the mass parameters of the model that is consistent with the $g-2$ lepton anomalies. Radiative correction to the mass of the ordinary fermions are shown to be small.
The introduction of strongly-interacting mirror fermions with masses between the weak scale and 1 TeV could offer a viable alternative to the Higgs mechanism. The framework provided solves the hierarchy problem naturally and predicts a rich phenomenology for present and future experiments.
The contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment from the fermion triangle loop diagrams connected to the muon line by a photon and a $Z$ boson is reanalyzed in the unitary gauge. With use of the anomalous axial-vector Ward identity, it is shown that the calculation in the unitary gauge exactly coincides with the one in the 't Hooft-Feynman gauge. The part which arises from the ordinary axial-vector Ward identity corresponds to the contribution of the neutral Goldstone boson. For the top-quark contribution, the one-parameter integral form is obtained up to the order of $m_μ^2/m_Z^2$. The…
We study the neutrino mass hierarchy at the magnetized Iron CALorimeter (ICAL) detector at India-based Neutrino Observatory with atmospheric neutrino events generated by the Monte Carlo event generator Nuance. We judicially choose the observables so that the possible systematic uncertainties can be reduced. The resolution as a function of both energy and zenith angle simultaneously is obtained for neutrinos and anti-neutrinos separately from thousand years un-oscillated atmospheric neutrino events at ICAL to migrate number of events from neutrino energy and zenith angle bins to muon energy and…
In non-supersymmetric grand unified models a ``radiative fermion mass hierarchy" can be achieved in which the spectrum of quark and lepton masses is determined entirely by physics at the unification scale, with many relations following from the unified gauge symmetry, and with the masses of the lightest family arising from loops. A simple, realistic, and predictive model of this kind is presented. A "doubly lopsided" structure, known to lead to bilarge neutrino mixing, plays a crucial role in the radiative hierarchy.
We present an SU(9) model of family unification with three light chiral families, and a natural hierarchy of charged fermion masses and mixings. The existence of singlet right handed neutrions with masses about two orders of magnitude smaller than the GUT scale, as needed to understand the light neutrinos masses via the see-saw mechanism, is compelling in our model.
Some phenomenological aspects of a supersymmetric model for fermion mass hierarchy proposed previously are discussed. It is required that the lepton universality violation is near to its current experimental bound. The lepton number violation decay modes $τ\to 2eμ$ and $3μ$ maybe observable in the near future. The Majorana mass of electron-neutrino is predicted to be about 0.1 eV. The fine-tuning problem is discussed.
The muon-to-electron conversion in nuclei like aluminum, titanium and gold is studied in the context of a class of mirror fermion model with non-sterile right-handed neutrinos having mass at the electroweak scale. At the limit of zero momentum transfer and large mirror lepton masses, we derive a simple formula to relate the conversion rate with the on-shell radiative decay rate of muon into electron. Current experimental limits (SINDRUM II) and projected sensitivities (Mu2e, COMET and PRISM) for the muon-to-electron conversion rates in various nuclei and latest limit from MEG for the radiative…
Recently various phenomenological implications of the existence of extra space-time dimensions have been investigated. In this letter, we construct a model with realistic fermion mass hierarchy with (large) extra dimensions beyond the usual four dimensions. In this model, it is assumed that some matter fields live in the bulk and the others are confined on our four dimensional wall. It can naturally reproduce the quark and lepton mass hierarchy and mixing angles without any symmetry arguments. We also discuss some possibilities of obtaining suitable neutrino masses and mixings for the solar an…
We propose a bottom-up approach that a structure of a high-energy physics is explored by accumulating existence proofs and/or no-go theorems in the standard model or its extension. As an illustration, we study fermion mass hierarchies based on an extension of the standard model with vector-like fermions. It is shown that a magnitude of elements of Yukawa coupling matrices can become $O(1)$ and a Yukawa coupling unification can be realized in a theory beyond the extended model, if vector-like fermions mix with three families. In this case, small Yukawa couplings in the standard model can be hig…
We develop a 5d model for ElectroWeak physics based on a non compact warped extra dimension of finite length, known as the soft wall scenario, where all the dynamical degrees of freedom propagate in the 5d bulk. We solve the equations of motion and find the allowed spectra, showing that the mass of the lightest fermionic mode behaves as a power law of the effective 4d Yukawa coupling constant, with the exponent being the corresponding fermionic 5d bulk mass. Precisely this non universal behavior allows us to reproduce the hierarchy between the Standard Model (SM) fermion masses (from neutrinos…
The computation of the correction Δr in the W-Z mass correlation, derived from muon decay, is described at the two-loop level in the Standard Model. Technical aspects which become relevant at this level are studied, e.g. gauge-parameter independent mass renormalization, ghost-sector renormalization and the treatment of γ_5. Exact results for Δr and the W mass prediction including O(α^2) corrections with fermion loops are presented and compared with previous results of a next-to-leading order expansion in the top-quark mass.
Polarization of a vortex state fermion has rich structure due to the nontrivial momentum distribution of wave function. This larger freedom provides an unique opportunity to prepare fermions in exotic polarized states, which do not exist for plane-wave state fermions. Based on the so called spin-orbit state which was studied both theoretically and experimentally, we put forward a peculiar vortex muon whose polarization exhibits $Z_n$ symmetry and study its decay. We investigate the azimuthal distribution of the emitted electrons and find that it exhibits the same symmetry ($Z_n$) as the initia…
Recently, first results were presented for two-loop corrections to the muon (g-2) from fermion/sfermion loops in the MSSM. These corrections were shown to be generally large and even logarithmically enhanced for heavy sfermions. Here, full details of the calculation and analytical results are presented. Also, a very compact formula is provided which can be easily implemented and serves as a good approximation of the full result as a function of the fourteen most important input parameters. Finally, a thorough discussion of the numerical behaviour of the fermion/sfermion-loop corrections to (g-…
We show that the observed anomalies in the lepton sector can be explained in extensions of the Standard Model that are natural and, therefore, resolve the Higgs sector hierarchy problem. The scale of new physics is around the TeV and Technicolor-like theories are ideal candidate models.
The up-down splitting within quark families increases with the family number: m_u ~ m_d, m_c > m_s, m_t >> m_b. We show an approach that realizes this feature of the spectrum in a natural way. We suggest that the mass hierarchy is first generated by radiative effects in a sector of heavy isosinglet fermions, and then projected to the ordinary light fermions by means of a seesaw mixing. The hierarchy appears then inverted in the light fermion sector. We present a simple left-right symmetric gauge model in which the P- and CP-parities and an isotopical "up-down" symmetry are softly (or spontaneo…
A non-supersymmetric grand unified theory can exhibit a "radiative fermion mass hierarchy", in which the heavier quarks and leptons get mass at tree level and the lighter ones get mass from loop diagrams. Recently the first predictive model of this type was proposed. Here it is analyzed numerically and it is shown to give an excellent fit to the quark and lepton masses and mixings, including the CP phase violating phase $δ_{CKM}$. A relation between the neutrino angle $θ_{13}$ and the atmospheric neutrino angle is obtained
The historic LHC discovery of the 125 GeV particle with properties that closely resemble the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson verifies our understanding of electroweak symmetry breaking, but solidifies the need for a resolution to the hierarchy problem. Many extensions of the SM that address the hierarchy problem contain a non-minimal Higgs sector. Therefore, as a benchmark alternative to the SM Higgs mechanism, we study a general 2 Higgs doublet model (2HDM-G) framework for evaluating future sensitivity to Higgs couplings. We study how well it can be distinguished from the SM Higgs boson by fu…
The fermion mass problem is briefly reviewed. The observed hierarchy of quark and charged lepton masses strongly suggests the existence of an approximately conserved chiral flavour symmetry beyond the Standard Model. It is argued that in models of this type, the requirement of a natural explanation for both the atmospheric and solar neutrino problems leads to an essentially unique picture of neutrino masses and mixing angles. The anti-grand unification model is used as an explicit example to illustrate these ideas.
Recently a new mechanism has been proposed to cure the problem of fermion mass hierarchy in the Standard Model (SM) model. In this scenario, all SM charged fermions other than top quark arise from higher dimensional operators involving the SM Higgs field. This model also predicted some interesting phenomenology of the Higgs boson. We generalize this model to accommodate neutrino masses (Dirac & Majorana) and also obtain the mixing pattern in the leptonic sector. To generate neutrino masses, we add extra three right handed neutrinos $(N_{iR})$ in this model.
We propose a predictive model based on the $SU(3)_C\times SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry, which is supplemented by the $D_4$ family symmetry and several auxiliary cyclic symmetries whose spontaneous breaking produces the observed SM fermion mass and mixing pattern. The masses of the light active neutrinos are produced by an inverse seesaw mechanism mediated by three right handed Majorana neutrinos. To the best of our knowledge the model corresponds to the first implementation of the $D_4$ family symmetry in a $SU(3)_C\times SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ theory with three right handed Majorana ne…
In this paper we propose a possible explanation to the Fermion mass hierarchy problem by fitting the type-II seesaw mechanism into the Higgs doublet sector, such that their vacuum expectation values are hierarchal. We extend the Standard Model with two extra Higgs doublets as well as a spontaneously broken $U_X(1)$ gauge symmetry. All the fermion Yukawa couplings except that of top quark are of order ${\cal O} (10^{-2})$ in our model. Constraints on the parameter space from Electroweak precision measurements are studied. Besides, the neutral component of the new fields, which are introduced to…
We present a new mechanism for solving the fermionic masses and mixing hierarchies of the standard model through a minimal symmetry $\mathcal{Z}_2 \times \mathcal{Z}_5$. The mechanism is also capable of explaining the neutrino masses and mixing parameters. The phenomenological bounds arising from kaon mixing are also derived on the parameter space of the model.
We discuss a supersymmetric grand unified model which has gauge group SU(5) $\times$ SU(5) $\times$ SU(5), with matter fields transforming asymmetrically under different gauge SU(5) groups. We observe that the gauge structure of the model leads to approximate texture zero structures in fermion mass matrices and a natural hierarchy in the Yukawa couplings. The proton lifetime is estimated to be larger than $10^{34}$ years in this model. As in more conventional supersymmetric GUT models with product gauge groups, this model possesses no tensor fields with rank higher than 2, so that it might ari…
We present a viable flipped version of the SO(10) model consistent with the phenomenological requirements of having a non-trivial quark mixing matrix, natural doublet-triplet splitting, and a single pair of light electroweak Higgs doublet scalar bosons. In the presence of suitable non-renormalizable superpotential terms the model can reproduce the hierarchy observed in quark masses and mixings as well as an acceptable neutrino mass generated via the seesaw mechanism needed to explain dark matter and solar neutrino data.
Grand gauge-Higgs unification of five dimensional $SU(6)$ gauge theory on an orbifold $S^1/Z_2$ is discussed. The Standard model (SM) fermions are introduced on one of the boundaries and some massive bulk fields are also introduced so that they couple to the SM fermions through the mass terms on the boundary. Integrating out the bulk fields generates the SM fermion masses with exponentially small bulk mass dependences. The SM fermion masses except for top quark are shown to be reproduced by mild tuning the bulk masses. One-loop Higgs potential is calculated and it is shown that the electroweak…
We suggest simple models which produce the suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixing angles based on the supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory in 6 dimensions compactified on a T^2/Z_2 orbifold. The gauge and Higgs fields propagate in 6 dimensions while ordinal chiral matter fields are localized in 4 dimensions. We introduce extra vector-like heavy fields in the extra dimensions. We show three models according to the configurations of vector-like fields in extra dimensions. The suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixings are generated by integrating out these vector-lik…
In this paper we explore models in which we add a singlet scalar Higgs to the Standard Model. All of these models explain the origin of the mass hierarchy amongst the fermion masses and mixing angles. We discuss 24 different variations on this model, and explore the different phenomenological possibilities. We find that the phenomenological implications of all the models are very similar except in the Higgs sector. Higgs decays and signals can be altered very significantly in all the models, but break up into two distinct classes. We also describe a systematic method for generating these model…
In this paper, we move from a "proof of concept" to challenging predictions in a flavour model emerging from a single fermion family in six dimensions (6-D) with the two extra dimensions compactified on a sphere. The most striking predictions (beyond the basic ingredients already demonstrated for a realistic quark mass pattern) are for the neutrino sector. Not only can 4-D Majorana masses be generated from 6-D (where no Majorana spinors exist), but Majorana masses are naturally associated to large mixing. The model favours inverted hierarchy and a quasi-Dirac partial suppression of neutrinoles…

The fermion lifetime was usually calculated in terms of spin states. However, after comparing spin states with helicity states and chirality states, it is pointed out that a spin state is helicity degenerate, and so it can not be used for discussion of the dependence of lifetime on the polarization of an initial-state fermion. Using helicity states, we calculate the lifetime of polarized muons. The result shows that the lifetime of right-handed polarized muons is always greater than that of left-handed polarized muons with the same speed in flight.
We suggest simple models which produce the suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixing angles based on the 6 dimensional N=1 supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory compactified on a $T^2/(Z_2 \times Z_2')$ orbifold. We introduce 6D and 5D matter fields, which contains the 1st and 2nd generation matter fields as the zero modes, respectively. The 3rd generation matter fields are located on a 4D brane. The Yukawa couplings for bulk fields are suppressed by volume factors from extra dimensions. The suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixings are generated by the volume suppres…
We propose a new model which can naturally explain origins of fermion generations, quark mass hierarchy, and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix simultaneously from geometry of an extra dimension. We take the extra dimension to be an interval with point interactions, which are additional boundary points in the bulk space of the interval. Because of the Dirichlet boundary condition for fermion at the positions of point interactions, profiles of chiral fermion zero modes are split and localized, and then we can realize three generations from each five-dimensional Dirac fermion. Our model allows fer…
We describe a simple mechanism to break electroweak symmetry dynamically as well as to generate a large fermion mass hierarchy. The mechanism is displayed within the framework of a simple left-right symmetric model. The model has exact horizontal symmetry which is broken dynamically giving rise to the mixing angles as well as to the fermion masses. The light fermions acquire masses by exchange of the charged gauge bosons, which is possible in the case of a left-right symmetric gauge group. We display a simple mechanism to break the left-right symmetry. The stability of the horizontal symmetry …
We study the one-loop induced muon number processes when the standard model is minimally extended to include a $\rm SU(2)$ singlet of a charged scalar $h^+$ and a neutral fermion $N$. We find that $μ\rightarrow e γ$ is more sensitive for the former model whereas $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei for the latter. Effects of a scalar leptoquark $y^{1/3}$ and a heavy vector fermion $E^-$, which induce tree level rare muon decays, are also discussed.
In this work we show that, by introducing two $SU(3)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}$ singlet right handed fermions carrying opposite $U(1)_{Y}$ charges and while their left handed counterparts are singlet under $SU(3)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}$ and neutral under $U(1)_{Y}$, in the regime where the new charged lepton masses are in the electroweak scale it will be able to explain the small neutrino masses via minimum-inverse seesaw scenario (MISS) as well as the reported $R(K^{(*)})$ and muon $(g-2)$ discrepancies. Also when the charged fermion masses are well above the electro weak scale the model can not expla…
We explore muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon $g-2$) in a scotogenic neutrino model with a gauged lepton number symmetry $U(1)_{μ-τ}$. In this model, a dominant muon $g-2$ contribution comes not from an additional gauge sector but from a Yukawa sector. In our numerical $Δχ^2$ analysis, we show that our model is in favor of normal hierarchy with some features. We demonstrate one benchmark point, satisfying muon $g-2$ at the best fit value $25.1\times10^{-10}$.
We propose an extension of the three-Higgs-doublet model (3HDM), where the Standard Model (SM) particle content is enlarged by the inclusion of two inert $SU_{2L}$ scalar doublets, three inert and two active electrically neutral gauge singlet scalars, charged vector like fermions and Majorana neutrinos. These additional particles are introduced to generate the SM fermion mass hierarchy from a sequential loop suppression mechanism. In our model the top and exotic fermion masses appear at tree level, whereas the remaining fermions get their masses radiatively. Specifically, bottom, charm, tau an…
We discuss the optimal setup for a low energy neutrino factory in order to achieve a 5σ-discovery of a nonzero mixing angle θ_{13}, a nonzero CP phase δ_{CP}, and the mass hierarchy. We explore parent muon energies in the range 5--16 GeV, and baselines in the range 500--5000 km. We present the results in terms of the reach in sin^2θ_{13}, emphasizing the dependence of the optimal baseline on the true value of δ_{CP}. We show that the sensitivity of a given setup typically increases with parent muon energy, reaching saturation for higher energies. The saturation energy is larger for longer base…
The supersymmetric $SU(6)$ model accompanied by the flavour-blind discrete symmetry $Z_3$ can succesfully deal with such key problems of SUSY GUTs, as are the gauge hierarchy/doublet-triplet splitting, $μ$-problem and flavour problem. The Higgs doublets arise as Goldstone modes of the spontaneously broken {\em accidental} global $SU(6)\times U(6)$ symmetry of the Higgs superpotential. Their couplings to fermions have peculiarities leading to the consistent picture of the quark and lepton masses and mixing, without invoking any of horizontal symmetry/zero texture concepts. In particular, the on…
A nonuniversal abelian extension $\mathrm{U(1)}_{X}$ free from chiral anomalies is introduced into the Standard Model (SM), in order to evaluate its suitability in addressing the fermion mass hierarchy (FMH) by using seesaw mechanisms (SSM). In order to break the electroweak symmetry, three Higgs doublets are introduced, which give mass at tree-level to the top and bottom quarks, and the muon lepton. With an electroweak singlet scalar field, the $U(1)_{X}$ symmetry is broken and the exotic particles acquire masses. The light particles in the SM obtain their masses via SSM and Yukawa couplings …
We show that a source-to-detector distance of 2540 km offers multiple advantages for a low energy neutrino factory with a detector that can identify muon charge. At this baseline, for any neutrino hierarchy, the wrong-sign muon signal is almost independent of CP violation and $θ_{13}$ in certain energy ranges. This reduces the uncertainties due to these parameters and allows the identification of the hierarchy in a clean way. In addition, part of the muon spectrum is also sensitive to the CP violating phase and $θ_{13}$, so that the same setup can be used to probe these parameters as well.
We address two fundamental aspects of flavor physics: the mass hierarchy and the large lepton mixing angles. On one side, left-right flavor symmetry realizes the democratic mass matrix patterns and explains why one family is much heavier than the others. On the other side, discrete flavor symmetry such as A4 leads to the observed tribimaximal mixing for the leptons. We show that, by explicitly breaking the left-right flavor symmetry into the diagonal A4, it is possible to explain both the observed charged fermion mass hierarchies and quark and lepton mixing angles. In particular we predict a h…
We study an extended 2 Higgs doublet model (2HDM) in which the Standard Model (SM) Yukawa interactions are forbidden due to a global $U(1)^\prime$ symmetry, but may arise via mixing with vector-like families. In this model, the hierarchical structure of Yukawa couplings of quarks and leptons in the SM arises from the heavy masses of the fourth and fifth vector-like families. Within this model, we consider various non-standard contributions to the electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments. We first consider the $W$ exchange at one-loop level, consistent with the $μ\rightarrow e γ$ constraint…
We propose a predictive $Q_4$ flavored 2HDM model, where the scalar sector is enlarged by the inclusion of several gauge singlet scalars and the fermion sector by the inclusion of right handed Majorana neutrinos. In our model, the $Q_4$ family symmetry is supplemented by several auxiliary cyclic symmetries, whose spontaneous breaking produces the observed pattern of SM charged fermion masses and quark mixing angles. The light active neutrino masses are generated from an inverse seesaw mechanism at one loop level thanks to a remnant preserved $Z_2$ symmetry. Our model succesfully reproduces the…
We explored the sparticle mass spectrum in light of the muon g-2 anomaly and the little hierarchy problem in a class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking model. Here the messenger fields transform in the adjoint representation of the Standard Model gauge symmetry. To avoid unacceptably light right-handed slepton masses the standard model is supplemented by additional U(1)_B-L gauge symmetry. Considering a non-zero U(1)_B-L D-term leads to an additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms which makes the right-handed slepton masses compatible with the current experime…
