A general formalism of the spin quantum entanglement in a curved space-time represented. As examples Kerr and non commutative Reissner- Nordström models are considered. The behaviors of the concurrence and entanglement entropy as a function of the various parameters are also discussed.
We study the genuine tripartite nonlocality (GTN) and the genuine tripartite entanglement (GTE) of Dirac fields in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole. We find that the Hawking radiation degrades both the physically accessible GTN and the physically accessible GTE. The former suffers from "sudden death" at some critical Hawking temperature, and the latter approaches to the nonzero asymptotic value in the limit of infinite Hawking temperature. We also find that the Hawking effect cannot generate the physically inaccessible GTN, but can generate the physically inaccessible GTE for fermi…
We propose a covariant scheme for measuring entanglement on general hypersurfaces in relativistic quantum field theory. For that, we introduce an auxiliary relativistic field, 'the discretizer', that by locally interacting with the field along a hypersurface, fully swaps the field's and discretizer's states. It is shown, that the discretizer can be used to effectively cut-off the field's infinities, in a covariant fashion, and without having to introduce a spatial lattice. This, in turn, provides us an efficient way to evaluate entanglement between arbitrary regions on any hypersurface. As exa…
We consider an entanglement harvesting protocol between two Unruh-deWitt detectors in quantum superpositions of static trajectories in the static de Sitter and thermal Minkowski spacetimes. We demonstrate for the first time that the spatial superposition of each detector's path allows entanglement to be harvested from the quantum field in regimes where it would be otherwise impossible for detectors on classical trajectories. Surprisingly, for detectors on sufficiently delocalised trajectories in a thermal bath, the amount of harvested entanglement grows with the temperature of the field, viola…
We generalize a result of Vollick constraining the possible behaviors of the renormalized expected stress-energy tensor of a free massless scalar field in two dimensional spacetimes that are globally conformal to Minkowski spacetime. Vollick derived a lower bound for the energy density measured by a static observer in a static spacetime, averaged with respect to the observers proper time by integrating against a smearing function. Here we extend the result to arbitrary curves in non-static spacetimes. The proof, like Vollick's proof, is based on conformal transformations and the use of our ear…
The Einstein-Cartan-Kibble-Sciama ({\sf ECKS}) theory of gravity naturally extends Einstein\rq{}s general relativity ({\sf GR}) to include intrinsic angular momentum (spin) of matter. The main feature of this theory consists of an algebraic relation between spacetime torsion and spin of matter which indeed deprives the torsion of its dynamical content. The Lagrangian of {\sf ECKS} gravity is proportional to the Ricci curvature scalar constructed out of a general affine connection so that owing to the influence of matter energy-momentum and spin, curvature and torsion are produced and interact …
Recently, with numerical methods, Hod clarified the validity of Thorne hoop conjecture for spatially regular static charged fluid spheres, which were considered as counterexamples against the hoop conjecture. In this work, we provide an analytical proof on Thorne hoop conjecture in the spatially regular static charged fluid sphere spacetimes.
In this work, based on a recently introduced localization scheme for scalar fields, we argue that the geometry of the space-time, where the particle states of a scalar field are localized, is intimately related to the quantum entanglement of these states. More specifically, we show that on curved space-time can only be localized entangled states, while separable states are located on flat space-time. Our result goes in parallel with recent theoretical developments in the context of AdS/CFT correspondence which uncovered connections between gravity and quantum entanglement.
Within the quantum field theory approach and using the technique of Bogoliubov transformations, the von Neumann boson-antiboson pair creation quantum entanglement entropy is studied in the context of the noncommutative Bianchi I universe. It is shown that the latter have a behavior depending strongly on the choice of the noncommutativity θ parameter, k_{\perp}-frequency modes and the structure of the curved spacetime. Moreover, the relationship between the Bose-Einstein condensation and quantum entanglement is also discussed.
We present a new technique for computing entanglement harvesting with Unruh-DeWitt particle detectors. The method is particularly useful in cases where analytic solutions are rare and the Wightman function is known only via its mode expansion for which numerical integration can become very expensive. By exploiting the conjugate symmetry of the Wightman function, we may split the integral into parts dependent on the commutator and anti-commutator of the field. In cases where the commutator vanishes, such as spacelike separation, or timelike separation if the strong Huygens principle holds, we t…
The non-commutative Bianchi I curved space-time vierbeins and spin connections are derived. Moreover, the corresponding non-commutative Dirac equation as well as its solutions are presented. As an application within the quantum field theory approach using Bogoliubov transformations, the von Neumann fermion-antifermion pair creation quantum entanglement entropy is studied. It is shown that its behaviour is strongly dependent on the value of the non-commutativity $θ$ parameter, $k_\perp$-modes frequencies and the structure of the curved space-time. Various discussions of the obtained features ar…
In this paper we perform systematic investigation of all possible solutions with static compact extra dimensions and expanding three-dimensional subspace (``our Universe''). Unlike previous papers, we consider extra-dimensional subspace to be constant-curvature manifold with both signs of spatial curvature. We provide a scheme how to build solutions in all possible number of extra dimensions and perform stability analysis for the solutions found. Our study suggests that the solutions with negative spatial curvature of extra dimensions are always stable while those with positive curvature are s…
We calculate the entanglement entropy between two (maximally-extended) spacetime regions of static black hole, seperated by horizon. As a first case, we consider the Schwarzschild black hole, and then we extend the calculations to the charged Reissner- Nordstrom and Schwarzschild-de Sitter black holes with more than one horizon. The case for static and spherically-symmetric solution to the more general F (R) gravity is also considered. The calculation of the entanglement entropy is performed using the replica trick by obtaining the explicit form of the metric which corresponds to the replica s…
We extend Derrick's theorem to the case of a generic irrotational curved spacetime adopting a strategy similar to the original proof. We show that a static relativistic star made of real scalar fields is never possible regardless of the geometrical properties of the (static) spacetimes. The generalised theorem offers a tool that can be used to check the stability of localised solutions of a number of types of scalar fields models as well as of compact objects of theories of gravity with a non-minimally coupled scalar degree of freedom.
Motivated by quantum gravity, semi-classical theory, and quantum theory on curved spacetimes, we study the system of an oscillator coupled to two spin-1/2 particles. This model provides a prototype for comparing three types of dynamics: the full quantum theory, the classical oscillator with spin backreaction, and spins propagating on a fixed oscillator background. From nonperturbative calculations of oscillator and entanglement entropy dynamics, we find that entangled tripartite states produce novel oscillator trajectories, and that the three systems give equivalent dynamics for sufficiently w…
In this manuscript, we present an alternative method for calculating null geodesics in General Static Isotropic Metrics in General Relativity and Extended Theories of Gravity. By applying a conformal transformation, we are able to consider an analogue gravity model, where curvature is encoded in the dielectric and magnetic properties of a medium. In other words, we pass from curved to flat space-times, where instead of the Einstein field equations, the Maxwell equations are solved. Within this geometrical background, the photon geodesics are calculated. Then, given different black hole and wor…
Gravity induced neutrino-antineutrino oscillations are studied in the context of one and two flavor scenarios. This allows one to investigate the particle-antiparticle correlations in two and four level systems, respectively. Flavor entropy is used to probe the entanglement in the system. The well known witnesses of non-classicality such as Mermin and Svetlichly inequalities are investigated. Since the extent of neutrino-antineutrino oscillation is governed by the strength of the gravitational field, the behavior of non-classicality shows interesting features as one varies the strength of the …
Entanglement entropies calculated in the framework of quantum field theory on classical, flat or curved, spacetimes are known to show an intriguing area law in four dimensions, but they are also notorious for their quadratic ultraviolet divergences. In this paper we demonstrate that the analogous entanglement entropies when computed within the Asymptotic Safety approach to background independent quantum gravity are perfectly free from such divergences. We argue that the divergences are an artifact due to the over-idealization of a rigid, classical spacetime geometry which is insensitive to the…
Many phenomena and fundamental predictions, ranging from Hawking radiation to the early evolution of the Universe rely on the interplay between quantum mechanics and gravity or more generally, quantum mechanics in curved spacetimes. However, our understanding is hindered by the lack of experiments that actually allow us to probe quantum mechanics in curved spacetime in a repeatable and accessible way. Here we propose an experimental scheme for a photon that is prepared in a path superposition state across two rotating Sagnac interferometers that have different diameters and thus represent a su…
Two entangled two-level Unruh-DeWitt detectors, which are in rest, spontaneously loose entanglement when at least any one of them is not isolated from the environment quantum fields. For eternal interaction between the detectors and environment, the spontaneous emission from the detectors' exited states and vacuum fluctuations of field influence this negative effect. Consequently, it suggests that two entangled qubits become less communicated during their free-fall towards the black hole horizon.
Many states of linear real scalar quantum fields (in particular Reeh-Schlieder states) on flat as well as curved spacetime are entangled on spacelike separated local algebras of observables. It has been argued that this entanglement can be "harvested" by a pair of so-called particle detectors, for example singularly or non-locally coupled quantum mechanical harmonic oscillator Unruh detectors. In an attempt to avoid such imperfect coupling, we analyse a model-independent local and covariant entanglement harvesting protocol based on the local probes of a recently proposed measurement theory of …
We study a free scalar field $ϕ$ in a fixed curved background spacetime subject to a higher derivative field equation of the form $F(\Box)ϕ=0$, where $F$ is a polynomial of the form $F(\Box)= \prod_i (\Box-m_i^2)$ and all masses $m_i$ are distinct and real. Using an auxiliary field method to simplify the calculations, we obtain expressions for the Belinfante-Rosenfeld symmetric energy-momentum tensor and compare it with the canonical energy-momentum tensor when the background is Minkowski spacetime. We also obtain the conserved symplectic current necessary for quantisation and briefly discuss …
