We prove new (sharp) Liouville-type properties via degenerate Hadamard three-sphere theorems for fully nonlinear equations structured over Heisenberg vector fields. As model examples, we cover the case of Pucci's extremal operators perturbed by suitable semilinear and gradient terms, extending to the Heisenberg setting known contributions valid in the Euclidean framework.
We prove an infinite dimensional version of the Arnold-Liouville theorem for integrable non-linear PDEs: In a case study we consider the {\em focusing} NLS equation with periodic boundary conditions.
We obtain an entire Liouville type theorem to the classical semilinear subcritical elliptic equation on Heisenberg group. A pointwise estimate near the isolated singularity was also proved. The soul of the proofs is an a priori integral estimate, which deduced from a generalized formula of that found by Jerison and Lee.
In this paper, we establish Liouville type results for semilinear subelliptic systems associated with the sub-Laplacian on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^{n}$ involving two different kinds of general nonlinearities. The main technique of the proof is the method of moving planes combined with some integral inequalities replacing the role of maximum principles. As a special case, we obtain the Liouville theorem for the Lane-Emden system on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^{n}$, which also appears to be a new result in the literature.
In this paper, we establish Liouville theorems for the following system of elliptic differential inequalities $$ Δ_{\mathbb H}u^{m_1}+|η|_{\mathbb H}^{γ_1}|v|^p\leq0,$$ $$ Δ_{\mathbb H}v^{m_2}+|η|_{\mathbb H}^{γ_2}|u|^q\leq0,$$ on different unbounded open domains of Heisenberg group $\mathbb H$, including the whole space, and half space of $\mathbb H$. Here $p>m_2>0$, $q>m_1>0$.
In this paper, we show the nonexistence results for the Kirchhoff elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic type equations on the Heisenberg groups. Also, the pseudo-parabolic and pseudo-hyperbolic equations of the Kirchhoff-type are under consideration. To prove these results we use the test function method. In addition, the analogous results are transferred to the cases of systems. Also, we give some examples of non-local nonlinearities.
This paper studies Liouville properties for viscosity sub- and supersolutions of fully nonlinear degenerate elliptic PDEs, under the main assumption that the operator has a family of generalized subunit vector fields that satisfy the Hörmander condition. A general set of sufficient conditions is given such that all subsolutions bounded above are constant; it includes the existence of a supersolution out of a big ball, that explodes at infinity. Therefore for a large class of operators the problem is reduced to finding such a Lyapunov-like function. This is done here for the vector fields that …
The Liouville equation with non-constant magnetic field is obtained as a limit in the Planck constant \hbar of the Heisenberg equation with the same magnetic field. The convergence is with respect to an appropriate semi-classical pseudo distance, and consequently with respect to the Monge-Kantorovich distance. Uniform estimates both in εand \hbar are proved for the specific 2D case of a magnetic vector potential of the form \frac {1} εx^{\bot}. As an application, an observation inequality for the Heisenberg equation with a magnetic vector potential is obtained. These results are a magnetic var…
In this manuscript we establish local Hölder regularity estimates for bounded solutions of a certain class of doubly degenerate evolution PDEs. By making use of intrinsic scaling techniques and geometric tangential methods, we derive sharp regularity estimates for such models, which depend only on universal and compatibility parameters of the problem. In such a scenario, our results are natural improvements for former ones in the context of nonlinear evolution PDEs with degenerate structure via a unified approach. As a consequence for our findings and approach, we address a Liouville type resu…
We introduce some families of generalized Black--Scholes equations which involve the Riemann-Liouville and Weyl space-fractional derivatives. We prove that these generalized Black--Scholes equations are well-posed in $(L^1-L^\infty)$-interpolation spaces. More precisely, we show that the elliptic type operators involved in these equations generate holomorphic semigroups. Then, we give explicit integral expressions for the associated solutions. In the way to obtain well-posedness, we prove a new connection between bisectorial operators and sectorial operators in an abstract setting. Such a conn…
This note is a synthesis of my reflexions on some questions that have emerged during the MATRIX event "Recent Trends on Nonlinear PDEs of Elliptic and Parabolic Type" concerning the qualitative properties of solutions to some non local reaction-diffusion equations of the form L[u](x) + f (u(x)) = 0, for x $\in$ R n \ K, where K $\subset$ R N is a bounded smooth compact "obstacle", L is non local operator and f is a bistable nonlinearity. When K is convex and the nonlocal operator L is a continuous operator of convolution type then some Liouville-type results for solutions satisfying some asymp…
We prove local Lipschitz regularity for weak solutions to a class of degenerate parabolic PDEs modeled on the parabolic $p$-Laplacian $$\p_t u= \sum_{i=1}^{2n} X_i (|\nabla_0 u|^{p-2} X_i u),$$ in a cylinder $Ω\times \R^+$, where $Ω$ is domain in the Heisenberg group $\Hn$, and $2\le p \le 4$. The result continues to hold in the more general setting of contact sub-Riemannian manifolds.
The paper treats second order fully nonlinear degenerate elliptic equations having a family of subunit vector fields satisfying a full-rank bracket condition. It studies Liouville properties for viscosity sub- and supersolutions in the whole space, namely, that under a suitable bound at infinity from above and, respectively, from below, they must be constants. In a previous paper we proved an abstract result and discussed operators on the Heisenberg group. Here we consider various families of vector fields: the generators of a Carnot group, with more precise results for those of step 2, in par…
This note studies local integral gradient bounds for distributional solutions of a large class of partial differential inequalities with diffusion in divergence form and power-like first-order terms. The applications of these estimates are two-fold. First, we show the (sharp) global Hölder regularity of distributional semi-solutions to this class of diffusive PDEs with first-order terms having supernatural growth and right-hand side in a suitable Morrey class posed on a bounded and regular open set $Ω$. Second, we provide a new proof of entire Liouville properties for inequalities with superli…
In this paper, we are concerned with the critical order Hénon-Lane-Emden type equations with Navier boundary condition on a half space $\mathbb{R}^n_+$: \begin{equation}\label{NPDE0}\\\begin{cases} (-Δ)^{\frac{n}{2}} u(x)=f(x,u(x)),\ u(x)\geq0,\ x\in\mathbb{R}^{n}_+, \\ u=(-Δ)u = \cdots = (-Δ)^{\frac{n}{2}-1}u = 0,\ x\in\partial\mathbb{R}^{n}_+, \end{cases}\end{equation} where $u\in C^{n}(\mathbb{R}^{n}_+)\cap C^{n-2}(\overline{\mathbb{R}^{n}_+})$ and $n\geq2$ is even. We first consider the typical case $f(x,u)=|x|^{a}u^{p}$ with $0\leq a<\infty$ and $1<p<\infty$. We prove the super poly-harmo…
We investigate the Dirichlet problem associated to the Schrödinger operator $\mathcal L=-Δ_{\mathbb{H}^n}+V$ on Heisenberg group $\mathbb H^n$: \begin{align*} \begin{cases} \partial_{ss}u(g,s)-\mathcal L u(g,s)=0\,,\quad &{\rm in \,\ } \mathbb{H}^n\times\mathbb{R}^+,\\ u(g,0)=f \,,\quad &{\rm on \,\ } \mathbb{H}^n \end{cases} \end{align*} with $f$ in $L^p(\mathbb{H}^n)$ ($1< p<\infty$) and in $H^1_{\mathcal L}(\mathbb{H}^n)$, i.e., the Hardy space associated with $\mathcal L$. Here $Δ_{\mathbb{H}^n}$ is the sub-Laplacian on $\mathbb H^n$ and the nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse…
In this paper, we are concerned with the fractional and higher order Hénon-Hardy type equations \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}u(x)=f(x,u(x)) \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\, \text{in} \,\,\, \mathbb{R}^{n}, \,\,\, \mathbb{R}^{n}_{+} \,\,\, \text{or} \,\,\, Ω\end{equation*} with $n>α$, $0<α<2$ or $α=2m$ with $1\leq m<\frac{n}{2}$. We first consider the typical case $f(x,u)=|x|^{a}u^{p}$ with $a\in(-α,\infty)$ and $0<p<p_{c}(a):=\frac{n+α+2a}{n-α}$. By using the method of scaling spheres, we prove Liouville theorems for the above Hénon-Hardy equations and equivalent integral equations in $\mathbb{R}…
In this paper, we are mainly concerned with the physically interesting static Schrödinger-Hartree-Maxwell type equations \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^{s}u(x)=\left(\frac{1}{|x|^σ}\ast |u|^{p}\right)u^{q}(x) \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\, \text{in} \,\,\, \mathbb{R}^{n} \end{equation*} involving higher-order or higher-order fractional Laplacians, where $n\geq1$, $0<s:=m+\fracα{2}<\frac{n}{2}$, $m\geq0$ is an integer, $0<α\leq2$, $0<σ<n$, $0<p\leq\frac{2n-σ}{n-2s}$ and $0<q\leq\frac{n+2s-σ}{n-2s}$. We first prove the super poly-harmonic properties of nonnegative classical solutions to the above PDEs, then s…
We study various notions of the Schwarzian derivative for contact mappings in the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}_1$ and introduce two definitions: (1) the CR Schwarzian derivative based on the conformal connection approach studied by Osgood and Stowe and, recently, by Son; (2) the classical type Schwarzian refering to the well-known complex analytic definition. In particular, we take into consideration the effect of conformal rigidity and the limitations it imposes. Moreover, we study the kernels of both Schwarzians and the cocycle conditions. Our auxiliary results include a characterization of …
We address a new numerical scheme based on a class of machine learning methods, the so-called Extreme Learning Machines with both sigmoidal and radial-basis functions, for the computation of steady-state solutions and the construction of (one dimensional) bifurcation diagrams of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). For our illustrations, we considered two benchmark problems, namely (a) the one-dimensional viscous Burgers with both homogeneous (Dirichlet) and non-homogeneous mixed boundary conditions, and, (b) the one and two-dimensional Liouville-Bratu-Gelfand PDEs with homogeneous…
