This work focuses on a class of regime-switching jump diffusion processes with a countably infinite state space for the discrete component. Such processes can be used to model complex hybrid systems in which both structural changes, small fluctuations as well as big spikes coexist and are intertwined. The paper provides weak sufficient conditions for Feller and strong Feller properties and irreducibility for such processes. The conditions are presented in terms of the coefficients of the associated stochastic differential equations.
Strong Feller property and irreducibility are study for a class of non-linear monotone stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative noise. Hölder continuity of the associated Markov semigroups are discussed in some special cases. The main results are applied to several examples such as stochastic porous media equations, stochastic fast diffusion equations.
In this short note we show how the asymptotic strong Feller property (ASF) and local weak irreducibility can be established via generalized couplings. We also prove that a stronger form of ASF together with local weak irreducibility implies uniqueness of an invariant measure. The latter result is optimal in a certain sense and complements some of the corresponding results of Hairer, Mattingly (2008).
This work focuses on a class of regime-switching jump diffusion processes, in which the switching component has countably infinite many states or regimes. The existence and uniqueness of the underlying process are obtained by an interlacing procedure. Then the Feller and strong Feller properties of such processes are derived by the coupling method and an appropriate Radon-Nikodym derivative. Finally the paper studies exponential ergodicity of regime-switching jump-diffusion processes.
This paper considers multidimensional jump type stochastic differential equations with super linear growth and non-Lipschitz coefficients. After establishing a sufficient condition for nonexplosion, this paper presents sufficient non-Lipschitz conditions for pathwise uniqueness. The non confluence property for solutions is investigated. Feller and strong Feller properties under non-Lipschitz conditions are investigated via the coupling method. Sufficient conditions for irreducibility and exponential ergodicity are derived. As applications, this paper also studies multidimensional stochastic di…
The transition law of every exchangeable Feller process on the space of countable graphs is determined by a $σ$-finite measure on the space of $\{0,1\}\times\{0,1\}$-valued arrays. In discrete-time, this characterization amounts to a construction from an independent, identically distributed sequence of exchangeable random functions. In continuous-time, the behavior is enriched by a Lévy--Itô-type decomposition of the jump measure into mutually singular components that govern global, vertex-level, and edge-level dynamics. Furthermore, every such process almost surely projects to a Feller proces…
In this paper we show irreducibility and the strong Feller property for transition probabilities of stochastic differential equations with jumps and monotone coefficients. Thus, exponential ergodicity and the spectral gap for the corresponding transition semigroups are obtained.
We use the variational approach to investigate periodic measures for a class of SPDEs with regime-switching. The hybrid system is driven by degenerate Lévy noise. We use the Lyapunov function method to study the existence of periodic measures and show the uniqueness of periodic measures by establishing the strong Feller property and irreducibility of the associated time-inhomogeneous semigroup. The main results are applied to stochastic porous media equations with regime-switching.
Motivated by networked systems in random environment and controlled hybrid stochastic dynamic systems, this work focuses on modeling and analysis of a class of switching diffusions consisting of continuous and discrete components. Novel features of the models include the discrete component taking values in a countably infinite set, and the switching depending on the value of the continuous component involving past history. In this work, the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the associated stochastic differential equations are obtained. In addition, Markov and Feller properties of a func…
We consider a class of semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by an additive cylindrical stable noise. We investigate structural properties of the solutions like Markov, irreducibility, stochastic continuity, Feller and strong Feller properties, and study integrability of trajectories. The obtained results can be applied to semilinear stochastic heat equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions and bounded and Lipschitz nonlinearities.
We study the ergodicity of stochastic real Ginzburg-Landau equation driven by additive $α$-stable noises, showing that as $α\in (3/2,2)$, this stochastic system admits a unique invariant measure. After establishing the existence of invariant measures by the same method as in [9], we prove that the system is strong Feller and accessible to zero. These two properties imply the ergodicity by a simple but useful criterion in [16]. To establish the strong Feller property, we need to truncate the nonlinearity and apply a gradient estimate established in [26] (or see [24]} for a general version for t…
We show the strong well-posedness of SDEs driven by general multiplicative Lévy noises with Sobolev diffusion and jump coefficients and integrable drift. Moreover, we also study the strong Feller property, irreducibility as well as the exponential ergodicity of the corresponding semigroup when the coefficients are time-independent and singular dissipative. In particular, the large jump is allowed in the equation. To achieve our main results, we present a general approach for treating the SDEs with jumps and singular coefficients so that one just needs to focus on Krylov's {\it apriori} estimat…
In this paper, we investigate periodic solutions of regime-switching jump diffusions. We first show the well-posedness of solutions to the SDEs corresponding to the hybrid system. Then, we derive the strong Feller property and irreducibility of the associated time-inhomogeneous semigroups. Finally, we establish the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions. Concrete examples are presented to illustrate the results.
The present work is concerned about two-dimensional stochastic convective Brinkman-Forchheimer (2D SCBF) equations perturbed by a white noise (non degenerate) in smooth bounded domains in $\R^{2}$. We establish two important properties of the Markov semigroup associated with the solutions of 2D SCBF equations (for the absorption exponent $r=1,2,3$), that is, irreducibility and strong Feller property. These two properties implies the uniqueness of invariant measures and ergodicity also. Then, we discuss about the ergodic behavior of 2D SCBF equations by providing a Large Deviation Principle (LD…
Using elliptic and parabolic regularity results in $L^p$-spaces and generalized Dirichlet form theory, we construct for every starting point weak solutions to SDEs in $\mathbb{R}^d$ up to their explosion times including the following conditions. For arbitrary but fixed $p>d$ the diffusion coefficient $A=(a_{ij})_{1\le i,j\le d}$ is locally uniformly strictly elliptic with functions $a_{ij}\in H^{1,p}_{loc}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and the drift coefficient $\mathbf{G}=(g_1,\dots, g_d)$ consists of functions $g_i\in L^p_{loc}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. The solution originates by construction from a Hunt process wit…
In this paper we consider ergodic optimal control of a diffusion process $\{X^u_t\}_{t \geq 0}$, taking values in $\bR^n$, where both drift and volatility are controlled. We establish a novel strong duality between the existence of a unique solution to the infinite horizon adjoint BSDE and strong dissipativity of $X^u$. We then proceed to show that the latter implies irreducibility, the strong Feller property and exponential ergodicity. We conclude by discussing the connection with ergodic BSDEs.
We study the ergodicity of stochastic reaction-diffusion equation driven by subordinate Brownian motions. After establishing the strong Feller property and irreducibility of the system, we prove the tightness of the solution's law. These properties imply that this stochastic system admits a unique invariant measure according to Doob's and Krylov-Bogolyubov's theories. Furthermore, we establish a large deviation principle for the occupation measure of this system by a hyper-exponential recurrence criterion. It is well known that S(P)DEs driven by $α$-stable type noises do not satisfy Freidlin-W…
The stochastic 2D Navier-Stokes equations on the torus driven by degenerate noise are studied. We characterize the smallest closed invariant subspace for this model and show that the dynamics restricted to that subspace is ergodic. In particular, our results yield a purely geometric characterization of a class of noises for which the equation is ergodic in $Ł^2_0(\TT^2)$. Unlike previous works, this class is independent of the viscosity and the strength of the noise. The two main tools of our analysis are the \textit{asymptotic strong Feller} property, introduced in this work, and an approxima…
