Inspired by recent formulæ of Dubrovin, Yang, and Zagier, we interpret the tau function enumerating stationary Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^1$ as an isomonodromic tau function associated with a difference equation. As a byproduct we obtain an analogue of the Kontsevich matrix model for this tau function. A connection with the Charlier ensemble is also considered.
We represent stationary descendant Gromov-Witten invariants of projective space, up to explicit combinatorial factors, by polynomials. One application gives the asymptotic behaviour of large degree behaviour of stationary descendant Gromov-Witten invariants in terms of intersection numbers over the moduli space of curves. We also show that primary Gromov-Witten invariants are "virtual" stationary descendants and hence the string and divisor equations can be understood purely in terms of stationary invariants.
We construct the quantum curve for the Baker-Akhiezer function of the orbifold Gromov-Witten theory of the weighted projective line $\mathbb P[r]$. Furthermore, we deduce the explicit bilinear Fermionic formula for the (stationary) Gromov-Witten potential via the lifting operator constructed from the Baker-Akhiezer function.
In this paper, we prove finite generation property and holomorphic anomaly equation for the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $K_{\mathbb{P}^1\times\mathbb{P}^1}$.
In this article, we study the change of genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants under cubic extremal transitions, following Lee-Lin-Wang [arXiv:1705.04799]. We use the language of quantum $D$-modules.
An algorithm to determine all the Gromov-Witten invariants of any smooth projective curve was obtained by Okounkov and Pandharipande in 2006. They identified stationary invariants with certain Hurwitz numbers and then presented Virasoro type constraints that allow to determine all the other Gromov-Witten invariants in terms of the stationary ones. In the case of an elliptic curve, we show that these Virasoro type constraints can be explicitly solved leading to a very explicit formula for the full Gromov-Witten potential in terms of the stationary invariants.
We outline two approaches to the construction of integrable hierarchies associated with the theory of Gromov - Witten invariants of smooth projective varieties. We argue that a comparison of these two approaches yields nontrivial constraints on Chern numbers of varieties with semisimple quantum cohomology.
In this paper, we prove quasi-modularity property for the twisted Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathcal{O}(3)$ over $\mathbb{P}^2$. Meanwhile, we derive its holomorphic anomaly equation.
We review how log Gromov--Witten invariants of toric varieties can be used to express quiver Donaldson--Thomas invariants in terms of the simpler attractor Donaldson--Thomas invariants. This is an exposition of joint work with Pierrick Bousseau.
We compute the Gromov-Witten potential at all genera of target smooth Riemann surfaces using Symplectic Field Theory techniques and establish differential equations for the full descendant potential. This amounts to impose (and possibly solve) different kinds of Schroedinger equations related to some quantization of the dispersionless KdV hierarchy. In particular we find very explicit formulas for the Gromov-Witten invariants of low degree of P1 with descendants of the Kaehler class.
The aim of this paper is to prove Golyshev's conjecture in the cases of Fano threefolds $V_{10}$ and $V_{14}$. This conjecture states modularity of D3 equations for smooth Fano threefolds with Picard group Z. More precisely, we find counting matrices of prime two-pointed Gromov-Witten invariants for them. For this we use the method that lets us find Gromov-Witten invariants of complete intersections in varieties whose invariants are (partially) known.
A difference equation is proved for the Gromov-Witten potential of the resolved conifold. Using the Gopakumar-Vafa resummation of the Gromov-Witten invariants of any Calabi-Yau threefold, it is further shown that similar difference equations are satisfied by the part of the resummed potential containing the contribution of the genus zero GV invariants.
We propose two conjectural relationships between the equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants of the resolved conifold under diagonal and anti-diagonal actions and the Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^1$, and verify their validity in genus zero approximation. We also provide evidences to support the validity of these relationships in genus one and genus two.
We express all equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants of the projective line as matrix elements of explicit operators acting in the Fock space. As a consequence, we prove the equivariant theory is governed by the 2-Toda hierarchy of Ueno and Takasaki. This is the second in a sequence of three papers devoted to the Gromov-Witten theory of nonsingular target curves (the first paper of the series is math.AG/0204305).
In the approach to Gromov-Witten theory developed by Givental, genus-zero Gromov-Witten invariants of a manifold X are encoded by a Lagrangian cone in a certain infinite-dimensional symplectic vector space. We give a construction of this cone, in the spirit of S^1-equivariant Floer theory, in terms of S^1-equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of the product X \times P^1. This gives a conceptual understanding of the "dilaton shift": a change-of-variables which plays an essential role in Givental's theory.
In this paper, we give a simple formula for the generating function of genus-2 Gromov-Witten invariants for manifolds with semisimple quantum cohomology, and use this formula to prove the genus-2 Virasoro conjecture for such manifolds.
In this paper we investigate the tau-functions for the stationary sector of Gromov-Witten theory of the complex projective line and its version, relative to one point. In particular, we construct the integral representation for the points of the Sato Grassmannians, Kac-Schwarz operators, and quantum spectral curves. This allows us to derive the matrix models.
We carry out the explicit computations that are used to write down the integrable hierarchy associated with the quintic Calabi-Yau threefold. We also do the calculations for the geometric structures emerging in the Gromov-Witten theory of the quintic, such as the Frobenius manifold structure and the special Kähler structure.
