The main objective of this work is to investigate the integrability and linearizability problems around a singular point at the origin of the family of differential systems Particularly we are interested in the three-dimensional cubic Lotka-Volterra systems for (1:-1:1) resonant. We give a complete set of necessary conditions for both integrability and linearizability problems. The local existences of two independent first integrals guarantee that these conditions are sufficient as well. Furthermore, we use the Darboux method of integrability and some other techniques to show that the system admits two independent first integrals at the origin.
In this paper the problems of integrable and linearizable Lotka-Volterra equations with $(δ:-3 δ:δ)$-resonance are studied. The necessary conditions for both problems are obtained in the case when $δ=1$ and it's sufficiency are proved. It is also shown that non-standard analysis has an important role in proving the sufficient integrable conditions in some cases. The non-standard analysis approaches have been used for both perturbed and unperturbed cases for integral aspects of the given system.
The Lotka--Volterra competition system with diffusion is considered. The Painlevé property of this system is investigated. Exact traveling wave solutions of the Lotka--Volterra competition system are found. Periodic solutions expressed in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic function are also given.
We present an n-dimensional integrable homogeneous Lotka--Volterra system, which has $(n^2-1)$-dimensional Lie symmetry algebra. Moreover a wider integrable family is derived from the structure of the Lie algebra.
We apply the Darboux theory of integrability to polynomial ODE's of dimension 3. Using this theory and computer algebra, we study the existence of first integrals for the 3-dimensional Lotka-Volterra systems with polynomial invariant algebraic solutions linear and quadratic and determine numerous cases of integrability.
The time evolution of a class of completely integrable discrete Lotka-Volterra s ystem is shown not unique but have two different ways chosen randomly at every s tep of generation. This uncertainty is consistent with the existence of constant s of motion and disappears in both continuous time and ultra discrete limits.
In this article, we have studied the difference-difference Lotka-Volterra equations in p-adic number space and its p-adic valuation version. We pointed out that the structure of the space given by taking the ultra-discrete limit is the same as that of the $p$-adic valuation space.
Discrete Lotka-Volterra equation over $p$-adic space was constructed since $p$-adic space is a prototype of spaces with the non-Archimedean valuations and the space given by taking ultra-discrete limit studied in soliton theory should be regarded as a space with the non-Archimedean valuations in the previous report (solv-int/9906011). In this article, using the natural projection from $p$-adic integer to a ring $Z/p^n Z$, a soliton equation is defined over the ring. Numerical computations shows that it behaves regularly.
We study the basic relation between skew-symmetric Lotka-Volterra systems and graphs, both at the level of objects and morphisms, and derive a classification from it of skew-symmetric Lotka-Volterra systems in terms of graphs as well as in terms of irreducible weighted graphs. We also obtain a description of their automorphism groups and of the relations which exist between these groups. The central notion introduced and used is that of decloning of graphs and of Lotka-Volterra systems. We also give a functorial interpretation of the results which we obtain.
The Kahan discretization of the Lotka-Volterra system, associated with any skew-symmetric graph $Γ$, leads to a family of rational maps, parametrized by the step size. When these maps are Poisson maps with respect to the quadratic Poisson structure of the Lotka-Volterra system, we say that the graph $Γ$ has the Kahan-Poisson property. We show that if $Γ$ is connected, it has the Kahan-Poisson property if and only if it is a cloning of a graph with vertices $1,2,\dots,n$, with an arc $i\to j$ precisely when $i<j$, and with all arcs having the same value. We also prove a similar result for augme…
Global dynamical behaviors of the competitive Lotka-Volterra system even in 3-dimension are not fully understood. The Lyapunov function can provide us such knowledge once it is constructed. In this paper, we construct explicitly the Lyapunov function in three examples of the competitive Lotka-Volterra system for the whole state space: (1) the general 2-dimensional case; (2) a 3-dimensional model; (3) the model of May-Leonard. The dynamics of these examples include bistable case and cyclical behavior. The first two examples are the generalized gradient system defined in the Appendixes, while th…
A parameter-dependent class of Hamiltonian (generalized) Lotka-Volterra systems is considered. We prove that this class contains Liouville integrable as well as superintegrable cases according to particular choices of the parameters. We determine sufficient conditions which result in integrable behavior, while we numerically explore the complementary cases, where these analytically derived conditions are not satisfied.
We provide a detailed treatment of relativistic Lotka-Volterra hierarchy and a kind of initial value problem with special emphasis on its the theta function representation of all algebro-geometric solutions. The basic tools involve hyperelliptic curve $\mathcal{K}_n$ associated with the Burchnall-Chaundy polynomial, Dubrovin-type equations for auxiliary divisors and associated trace formulas. With the help of a foundamental meromorphic function $\tildeϕ$ on $\mathcal{K}_p$ and trace formulas, the complex-valued algebro-geometric solutions of of RLV hierarchy are derived.
The general solutions of many three-dimensional Lotka-Volterra systems, previously known to be at least partially integrable, are constructed with the aid of special functions. Examples include certain ABC and May-Leonard systems. The special functions used are incomplete beta and elliptic functions. In some cases the solution is parametric, with the independent and dependent variables expressed as functions of a `new time' variable. This auxiliary variable satisfies a nonlinear third-order differential equation of a generalized Schwarzian type, and results of Carton-LeBrun on such equations a…
Based on the work by Smirnov and Zeitlin, we study a simple realization of the matrix construction of the affine Jacobi varieties. We find that the realization is given by a classical integrable model, the extended Lotka-Volterra lattice. We investigate the integrable structure of the representative for the gauge equivalence class of matrices, which is isomorphic to the affine Jacobi variety, and make use it to discuss the solvability of the model.
The Hamiltonian structure of a class of three-dimensional (3D) Lotka-Volterra (LV) equations is revisited from a novel point of view by showing that the quadratic Poisson structure underlying its integrability structure is just a real three-dimensional Poisson-Lie group. As a consequence, the Poisson coalgebra map that is given by the group multiplication provides the keystone for the explicit construction of a new family of 3N-dimensional integrable systems that, under certain constraints, contain N sets of deformed versions of the 3D LV equations. Moreover, by considering the most generic Po…
Lie and Q-conditional symmetries of the classical three-component diffusive Lotka - Volterra system in the case of one space variable are studied. The group-classification problems for finding Lie symmetries and Q-conditional symmetries of the first type are completely solved. Notably, non-Lie symmetries (Q-conditional symmetry operators) for a multi-component non-linear reaction-diffusion system are constructed for the first time. An example of non-Lie symmetry reduction for solving a biologically motivated problem is presented.
We study completely integrable Hamiltonian systems whose monodromy matrices are related to the representatives for the set of gauge equivalence classes $\boldsymbol{\mathcal{M}}_F$ of polynomial matrices. Let $X$ be the algebraic curve given by the common characteristic equation for $\boldsymbol{\mathcal{M}}_F$. We construct the isomorphism from the set of representatives to an affine part of the Jacobi variety of $X$. This variety corresponds to the invariant manifold of the system, where the Hamiltonian flow is linearized. As the application, we discuss the algebraic completely integrability…
