In many works in the literature, the Kiselev spacetime is interpreted as the "blackhole surrounded by quintessence"; an interpretation not really tenable. For example, it has recently been pointed out that the expressions "perfect fluid" and "quintessence" are used improperly in most of the articles that build on that spacetime; hence it is not as relevant as many of those authors might think. Here we point out that the original derivation of the Kiselev spacetime involves the use of too many coordinate conditions as well, again strongly restricting its relevance.
We present some new aspects of Kiselev black hole and then study the null and timelike thin shell collapse in this spacetime. For the latter, we show that Kiselev black hole can be matched to de Sitter core with a thin timelike dust shell to produce a non-singular black hole space-time. It is argued that for timelike hypersurface, the equation of state parameter must be non-negative. Using Barrabes-Israel junction conditions, the equation of motion of the shell is obtained. The stability of stationary solutions of the shell is discussed and some appropriate ranges for the parameters of shell a…
The spacetime properties in the exterior of the Kerr-Newman-NUT-Kiselev black hole in the Rastall theory of gravity, through particle dynamics are investigated with the aim to find possible degeneracy of the different black hole parameters. We show that the effective potential, the energy, and the angular momentum of a test particle moving in the spacetime of such a black hole strongly depend on the central black hole parameters. We also evaluate the innermost stable circular orbit radii of test particles and show how the spacetime parameters can act on them. Further, we show the results for t…
In this work we study the deflection and gravitational lensing of null and timelike signals in the Kiselev spacetime in the weak field limit, to investigate the effects of the equation of state parameter $ω$ and the matter amount parameter $α$. In doing this, we extend a perturbative method previously developed for asymptotically flat spacetimes whose metric functions have integer-power asymptotic expansions to the case that may or may not be asymptotically flat but with non-integer power expansions. It is found that in the asymptotically flat case ($-1/3<ω<0$) the deflection angles are expres…
Thermodynamics, thermodynamic geometry, and the shadow of a Bardeen black hole surrounded by a Kiselev fluid: the role of regularity, asymptotics, and observational self-consistency
The Kundt conjecture states that a Lorentzian manifold of arbitrary dimension which is not characterized by its scalar polynomial curvature invariants (SPIs) allows for a non-twisting, non-shearing and non-expanding (in short, Kundt) null congruence of geodesics. The conjecture has been proven for dimensions 3 and 4. A necessary condition for a spacetime not to be characterized by SPIs is that all covariant derivatives of the Riemann tensor are of aligned type II or more special in the null alignment classification. In arbitrary dimensions, we prove that this property indeed requires the prese…
