We extend the Series' connection between the modular surface $\mathcal{M}=\operatorname{PSL}(2,\mathbb{Z})\backslash\mathbb{H}$, cutting sequences, and regular continued fractions to the slow converging Lehner and Farey continued fractions with digits $(1,+1)$ and $(2,-1)$ in the notation used for the Lehner continued fractions. We also introduce an alternative insertion and singularization algorithm for Farey expansions and other non-semiregular continued fractions, and an alternative dual expansion to the Farey expansions so that $\frac{dxdy}{(1+xy)^2}$ is invariant under the natural extension map.
We prove the convergence and ergodicity of a wide class of real and higher-dimensional continued fraction algorithms, including folded and $α$-type variants of complex, quaternionic, octonionic, and Heisenberg continued fractions, which we combine under the framework of Iwasawa continued fractions. The proof is based on the interplay of continued fractions and hyperbolic geometry, the ergodicity of geodesic flow in associated modular manifolds, and a variation on the notion of geodesic coding that we refer to as geodesic marking. As a corollary of our study of markable geodesics, we obtain a g…
In this article, we characterize two kinds of exceptional orbits of the geodesic flow associated with the Modular surface in terms of a two-parameter family of continued fraction expansion of endpoints of the lifts to the hyperbolic plane of the corresponding geodesics. As a consequence, we obtain an extension of Dani correspondence between homogeneous dynamics and Diophantine approximation.

This paper investigates the quadratic irrationals that arise as periodic points of the Gauss type shift associated to the odd continued fraction expansion. It is shown that these numbers, which we call O-reduced, when ordered by the length of the associated closed primitive geodesic on some modular surface $Γ\backslash \mathbb{H}$, are equidistributed with respect to the Lebesgue absolutely continuous invariant probability measure of the Odd Gauss shift.
We extend the results of our 2020 paper in the Annali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Classe di Scienze. There, we associated to each of an infinite family of triangle Fuchsian groups a one-parameter family of continued fraction maps and showed that the matching (or, synchronization) intervals are of full measure. Here, we find planar extensions of each of the maps, and prove the continuity of the entropy function associated to each one-parameter family. We also introduce a notion of "first pointwise expansive power" of an eventually expansive interval map. We prove that for every map …
