We study the bulk flow of the local universe using Type Ia supernova data by considering a class of cosmological model which is spatially flat,(FRW) space-times and contains cold dark matter and $Q$ component (QCDM models) of the fluid as a scalar field, with self interactions determined by a potential $V(Q)=V_{0}Exp(-λQ)$ evolving in Universe. We use different cumulative redshift slices of the Union 2 catalogue. A maximum-likelihood analysis of peculiar velocities confirms that at low redshift $0.015 <z<0.1$, bulk flow is moving towards the $(l; b) = (302^{o}\pm20^{o}; 3^{o}\pm10^{o})$ direction with $v _{bulk} = 240\pm 25kms^{-1} $ velocity. This direction is aligned with direction of (SSC) and agreement with a number previous studies at $(1-σ)$, however for high redshift $0.1 <z<0.2$, we get $v _{bulk} = 1000\pm 25kms^{-1} $ towards the $(l; b) = (254^{+16^{o}}_{-14^{o}}; 6^{+7^{o}}_{-10^{o}})$. This indicates that for low redshift our results are approximately consistent with the $ΛCDM$ model with the latest WMAP best fit cosmological parameters however for high redshift they are in disagreement of $ΛCDM$ and support the results of previous studies such as Kashlinsky et. al, which report the large bulk flow for the Universe. We can conclude that, in $QCDM$ model, at small scales, fluctuations of the dark energy are damped and do not enter in the evolution equation for the perturbations in the pressureless matter, while at very large scales $(\sim > 100 h^{-1}Mpc)$, they leaving an imprint on the microwave background anisotropy.
We propose a new consistency test for the $Λ$CDM cosmology using baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO) and redshift space distortion (RSD) measurements from galaxy redshift surveys. Specifically, we determine the peak position of $fσ_8(z)$ in redshift $z$ offered by a RSD measurement, and compare it to the one predicted by the BAO observables assuming a flat $Λ$CDM cosmology. We demonstrate this new test using the simulated data for the DESI galaxy survey, and argue that this test complements those using the background observables alone, and is less subject to systematics in the RSD analysis, c…
New physics increasing the expansion rate just prior to recombination is among the least unlikely solutions to the Hubble tension, and would be expected to leave an important signature in the early Integrated Sachs-Wolfe (eISW) effect, a source of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropies arising from the time-variation of gravitational potentials when the Universe was not completely matter dominated. Why, then, is there no clear evidence for new physics from the CMB alone, and why does the $Λ$CDM model fit CMB data so well? These questions and the vastness of the Hubble tension theory mo…
We test the mutual consistency between the baryon acoustic oscillation measurements from the eBOSS SDSS final release, as well as the Pantheon supernova compilation in a model independent fashion using Gaussian process regression. We also test their joint consistency with the $Λ$CDM model, also in a model independent fashion. We also use Gaussian process regression to reconstruct the expansion history that is preferred by these two datasets. While this methodology finds no significant preference for model flexibility beyond $Λ$CDM, we are able to generate a number of reconstructed expansion hi…

Recent analyses \cite{Nesseris:2017vor,Kazantzidis:2018rnb} have indicated that an effective Newton's constant $G_{\rm eff}(z)$ decreasing with redshift may relieve the observed tension between the Planck15 best fit $Λ$CDM cosmological background ({\it i.e.} Planck15/$Λ$CDM) and the corresponding $Λ$CDM background favored by growth $fσ_8$ and weak lensing data. We investigate the consistency of such a decreasing $G_{\rm eff}(z)$ with some viable scalar-tensor models and $f(R)$ theories. We stress that $f(R)$ theories generically can not lead to a decreasing $G_{\rm eff}(z)$ for any cosmologica…
The cosmological constant $Λ$ and cold dark matter (CDM) model ($Λ\text{CDM}$) is one of the pillars of modern cosmology and is widely used as the de facto theoretical model by current and forthcoming surveys. As the nature of dark energy is very elusive, in order to avoid the problem of model bias, here we present a novel null test at the perturbation level that uses the growth of matter perturbation data in order to assess the concordance model. We analyze how accurate this null test can be reconstructed by using data from forthcoming surveys creating mock catalogs based on $Λ\text{CDM}$ and…
The Higgs-Dilaton model is a scale-invariant extension of the Standard Model non-minimally coupled to gravity and containing just one additional degree of freedom on top of the Standard Model particle content. This minimalistic scenario predicts a set of measurable consistency relations between the inflationary observables and the dark-energy equation-of-state parameter. We present an alternative derivation of these consistency relations that highlights the connections and differences with the $α$-attractor scenario. We study in how far these constraints allow to distinguish the Higgs-Dilaton …
In this short paper we determine the effects of structure on the cosmological consistency relation which is valid in a perfect Friedmann Universe. We show that within $Λ$CDM the consistency relation is violated by about 1.5% for redshifts $z\simeq 2$ and this violation raises up to 2% at $z\simeq 5$ and 3% at $z\simeq 10$ after which it settles at about 2.7% for $z>10$. This effect of cosmic structure on the distance redshift relation is also very sensitive to the determination of the dark energy equation of state via cosmic distances. It actually leads to an apparent unphysical behavior of $w…
We study infrared effects in perturbation theory for large-scale structure coupled to the effective field theory of dark energy, focusing on, in particular, Degenerate Higher-Order Scalar-Tensor (DHOST) theories. In the subhorizon, Newtonian limit, DHOST theories introduce an extra large-scale velocity $v^i_π$ which is in general different from the matter velocity $v^i$. Contrary to the case in Horndeski theories, the presence of this extra large-scale velocity means that one cannot eliminate the long-wavelength effects of both $v^i$ and $v^i_π$ with a single coordinate transformation, and thu…
Since physics of the dark sector components of the Universe is not yet well-understood, the phenomenological studies of non-minimal interaction in the dark sector could possibly pave the way to theoretical and experimental progress in this direction. Therefore, in this work, we intend to explore some features and consequences of a phenomenological interaction in the dark sector. We use the Planck 2018, BAO, JLA, KiDS and HST data to investigate two extensions of the base $Λ$CDM model, viz., (i) we allow the interaction among vacuum energy and dark matter, namely the I$Λ$CDM model, wherein the …
Recently released Planck data favor a lower value of the Hubble constant and a higher value of the fraction matter density in the standard $Λ$CDM model, which are discrepant with some of the low-redshift measurements. Within the context of this cosmology, we examine the consistency of the estimated values for the Hubble constant and fraction matter density with redshift tomography. Using the SNe Ia, Hubble parameter, BAO and CMB data, which are divided into three bins, we find no statistical evidence for any tension in the three redshift bins, although there exists a 1.4$σ$ deviation of the Hu…
We combine model-independent reconstructions of the expansion history from the latest Pantheon supernovae distance modulus compilation and measurements from baryon acoustic oscillation to test some important aspects of the concordance model of cosmology namely the FLRW metric and flatness of spatial curvature. We then use the reconstructed expansion histories to fit growth measurement from redshift-space distortion and obtain strong constraints on $(Ω_\mathrm{m},γ,σ_8)$ in a model independent manner. Our results show consistency with a spatially flat FLRW Universe with general relativity to go…
A plethora of observational data obtained over the last couple of decades has allowed cosmology to enter into a precision era and has led to the foundation of the standard cosmological constant and cold dark matter paradigm, known as the $Λ$CDM model. Given the many possible extensions of this concordance model, we present here several novel consistency tests which could be used to probe for deviations from $Λ$CDM. First, we derive a joint consistency test for the spatial curvature $Ω_{k,0}$ and the matter density $Ω_\textrm{m,0}$ parameters, constructed using only the Hubble rate $H(z)$, whic…
Planck's Cosmic Microwave Background temperature and polarization observations are the premier dataset for constraining cosmological models. Cosmic variance limited temperature at large and intermediate scales today dominates the constraints; polarization provides additional constraining power and further scrutiny of the models. To complete this picture from Planck, ground-based experiments, such as the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) and the South Pole Telescope (SPT) continue to add temperature and polarization measurements at small scales, allowing for the extraction of competitive cosmol…
We carry out a multi-probe self-consistency test of the flat $Λ$CDM model with the aim of exploring potential causes of the reported tensions between high- and low-redshift cosmological observations. We divide the model into two theory regimes determined by the smooth background (geometry) and the evolution of matter density fluctuations (growth), each governed by an independent set of Lambda Cold Dark Matter ($Λ$CDM) cosmological parameters. This extended model is constrained by a combination of weak gravitational lensing measurements from the Kilo-Degree Survey, galaxy clustering signatures …
Tensions between cosmological measurements by different surveys or probes have always been important --- and are presently much discussed --- as they may lead to evidence of new physics. Several tests have been devised to probe the consistency of datasets given a cosmological model, but they often have undesired features such as dependence on the prior volume, or burdensome requirements such as that of near-Gaussian posterior distributions. We propose a new quantity, defined in a similar way as the Bayesian evidence ratio, in which these undesired properties are absent. We test the quantity on…
Beyond-$Λ$CDM physics or systematic errors may cause subsets of a cosmological data set to appear inconsistent when analyzed assuming $Λ$CDM. We present an application of internal consistency tests to measurements from the Dark Energy Survey Year 1 (DES Y1) joint probes analysis. Our analysis relies on computing the posterior predictive distribution (PPD) for these data under the assumption of $Λ$CDM. We find that the DES Y1 data have an acceptable goodness of fit to $Λ$CDM, with a probability of finding a worse fit by random chance of ${p = 0.046}$. Using numerical PPD tests, supplemented by …
Dark matter (DM) as a pressureless perfect fluid provides a good fit of the standard $Λ$CDM model to the astrophysical and cosmological data. In this paper, we investigate two extended properties of DM: a possible time dependence of the equation of state of DM via Chevallier-Polarski-Linder parametrization, $w_{\rm dm} = w_{\rm dm 0} + w_{\rm dm 1}(1-a)$, and the constant non-null sound speed $\hat{c}^2_{\rm s,dm}$. We analyze these DM properties on top of the base $Λ$CDM model by using the data from Planck cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropy, baryonic aco…
Consistency checks of cosmological data sets are an important tool because they may suggest systematic errors or the type of modifications to $Λ$CDM necessary to resolve current tensions. In this work, we derive an analytic method for calculating the level of correlations between model parameters from two correlated cosmological data sets, which complements more computationally expensive simulations. This method is an extension of the Fisher analysis that assumes a Gaussian likelihood and a known data covariance matrix. We apply this method to the SPTpol temperature and polarization CMB spectr…
The consistency of some dynamical dark energy models based on Gauss-Bonnet invariant, ${\cal G}$, is studied compared with cosmological observational tests. The investigated models are modified form of Gauss Bonnet dark energy, MGB-DE and two other versions which are interacting MGB and $n_0$MGB. The energy density of proposed models are combinations of powers of the Hubble rate, H, and its time derivative. To inquire the performance of MGB dark energy models, we have used data analyzing methods and numerical solutions, in both background and perturbed levels, based on recent observational dat…
We study the performance of three pairs of tilted $Λ$CDM cosmological models, two pairs allowing for non-flat spatial hypersurfaces with CMB temperature and polarization power spectrum data (P18) from Planck, P18 lensing (lensing), and non-CMB data (non-CMB). For the six models, we measure cosmological parameters and study whether or not pairs of the data sets are mutually consistent in these models. Half of these models allow the lensing consistency parameter $A_L$ to be an additional free parameter, while the other three have $A_L = 1$. The tilted spatially-flat models assume the usual primo…

The standard cosmological model is based on the fundamental assumptions of a spatially homogeneous and isotropic universe on large scales. An observational detection of a violation of these assumptions at any redshift would immediately indicate the presence of new physics. We quantify the ability of the Euclid mission, together with contemporary surveys, to improve the current sensitivity of null tests of the canonical cosmological constant $Λ$ and the cold dark matter (LCDM) model in the redshift range $0<z<1.8$. We considered both currently available data and simulated Euclid and external da…
