A system of matrix units in the Weyl algebra of convolution type is constructed with the aid of a Gaussian element so that it includes von Neumann's minimal projection, which explicitly shows that the associated C*-algebra is a compact operator algebra. The spectral decomposition of an arbitrary Gaussian element is then worked out in terms of the diagonal projections in the matrix units.

In this paper we display a family of Gaussian processes, with explicit formulas and transforms. We study a family of representations of the canonical commutation relations (CCR)-algebra (an infinite number of degrees of freedom), which we call admissible. The family of admissible representations includes the Fock-vacuum representation. We describe an elementary method to get non-asymptotic estimates for the moments of Hermitian random matrices whose elements are Gaussian independent random variables. As the basic example, we consider the GUE matrices. Immediate applications include GOE and the ensemble of Gaussian anti-symmetric Hermitian matrices. The purpose of the article is to provide partial proofs for two conjectures given by Witte and Forrester in "Moments of the Gaussian $β$ Ensembles and the large $N$ expansion of the densities" with the use of the topological recursion adapted for general $β$ Gaussian case. In particular, the paper uses a version at coinciding points that provides a simple proof for some of the coefficients involved in the conjecture. Additionally, we propose a generalized version of the conjectures for all correlation functions evaluated at coinciding points.

For random matrix ensembles with non-gaussian matrix elements that may exhibit some correlations, it is shown that centered traces of polynomials in the matrix converge in distribution to a Gaussian process whose covariance matrix is diagonal in the basis of Chebyshev polynomials. The proof is combinatorial and adapts Wigner's argument showing the convergence of the density of states to the semicircle law.

Gaussian states are at the heart of quantum mechanics and play an essential role in quantum information processing. In this paper we provide approximation formulas for the expansion of a general Gaussian symbol in terms of elementary Gaussian functions. For this purpose we introduce the notion of a "phase space frame" associated with a Weyl-Heisenberg frame. Our results give explicit formulas for approximating general Gaussian symbols in phase space by phase space shifted standard Gaussians as well as explicit error estimates and the asymptotic behavior of the approximation.
We study the properties of the eigenvalues of real random matrices and their products. It is known that when the matrix elements are Gaussian-distributed independent random variables, the fraction of real eigenvalues tends to unity as the number of matrices in the product increases. We investigate the spectral fluctuation properties of constrained ensembles of random matrices (defined by the condition that a number N(Q) of matrix elements vanish identically; that condition is imposed in unitarily invariant form) in the limit of large matrix dimension. We show that as long as N(Q) is smaller than a critical value (at which the quadratic level repulsion of the Gaussian unitary ensemble of random matrices may be destroyed) all spectral fluctuation measures have the same form as for the Gaussian unitary ensemble.
