A search for supersymmetry (SUSY) is presented where at least one Higgs boson is produced and decays to two photons in the decay chains of pair-produced SUSY particles. Two analysis strategies are pursued: one focused on strong SUSY production and the other focused on electroweak SUSY production. The presence of charged leptons, additional Higgs boson candidates, and various kinematic variables are used to categorize events into search regions that are sensitive to different SUSY scenarios. The results are based on data from proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 77.5 fb$^{-1}$. No statistically significant excess of events is observed relative to the standard model expectations. We exclude bottom squark pair production for bottom squark masses below 530 GeV and a lightest SUSY particle mass of 1 GeV; wino-like chargino-neutralino production in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) for chargino and neutralino masses below 235 GeV with a gravitino mass of 1 GeV; and higgsino-like chargino-neutralino production in GMSB, where the neutralino decays exclusively to a Higgs boson and a gravitino for neutralino masses below 290 GeV.
We use a sample of diphoton + dijet events to measure the effective cross section of double parton interactions, which is found to be $σ_{\rm eff} = 19.3$ $\pm$ $1.4({\rm stat})$ $\pm$ $7.8({\rm syst})$ mb. The sample was collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 8.7 fb$^{-1}$.

We set limits on the cross section at the 95% C.L. and place the world's best limit of 149\gevc on the \none mass at $τ_{\tildeχ_1^0}$$<<$1 ns. We also exclude regions in the \none\ mass-lifetime plane for $τ_{\tildeχ_1^0}$$\…

A search for a narrow diphoton mass resonance is presented based on data from 3.0 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity from p-bar p collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV collected by the CDF experiment. No evidence of a resonance in the diphoton mass spectrum is observed, and upper limits are set on the cross section times branching fraction of the resonant state as a function of Higgs boson mass. The resulting limits exclude Higgs bosons with masses below 106 GeV at a 95% Bayesian credibility level (C.L.) for one fermiophobic benchmark model.
We report a search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy produced in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV. The data were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, and correspond to 6.3 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. The observed missing transverse energy distribution is well described by the standard model prediction, and 95% C.L. limits are derived on two realizations of theories beyond the standard model. In a gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario, the breaking scale Lambda is excluded for Lambda < 124 TeV. In a universal extra dimension mo…
Results are presented of a search for heavy particles decaying into two photons. The analysis is based on a 19.7 inverse femtobarn sample of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The diphoton mass spectrum from 150 to 850 GeV is used to search for an excess of events over the background. The search is extended to new resonances with natural widths of up to 10% of the mass value. No evidence for new particle production is observed and limits at 95% confidence level on the production cross section times branching fraction to diphotons are de…
A search for diphoton events with large missing transverse momentum has been performed using proton-proton collision data at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 fb^-1. No excess of events was observed above the Standard Model prediction and model-dependent 95% confidence level exclusion limits are set. In the context of a generalised model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking with a bino-like lightest neutralino of mass above 50 GeV, gluinos (squarks) below 1.07 TeV (0.87 TeV) are excluded, while a breaking scale Lambda below 1…

We set 95% C.L. lower limits on the mass of the lightest graviton between 560 GeV and 1050 GeV for values of the coupling k/Mbar_pl between 0.01 and 0.1.

No excess of such events is observed above the Standard Model background prediction. In the context of a specific model with one Universal Extra Dimension with compactification radius R and gravity-induced decays, values of 1/R < 728 GeV are excluded at 95% CL, providing the most sensitive limit on this model to date.
A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is performed in the diphoton decay channel. The data used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. In the diphoton mass range 110-150 GeV, the largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is observed at 126.5 GeV, with a local significance of 2.8 standard deviations. Taking the look-elsewhere effect into account in the range 110-150 GeV, this significance becomes 1.5 standard deviations.…

The razor variables $M_\mathrm{R}$ and $\mathrm{R}^2$, as well as the momentum and mass resolution of the diphoton system, are used to categorize events into different search regions. The search result is interpreted in the context of strong and electroweak production of supersymmetri…

A measurement is presented of differential cross sections for the Higgs boson (H) production in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV. The analysis exploits the H to gamma gamma decay in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The cross section is measured as a function of the kinematic properties of the diphoton system and of the associated jets. Results corrected for detector effects are compared with predictions at next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics, as well a…
Analysis of contributions from vector-like leptonic supermultiplets to the Higgs diphoton decay rate and to the Higgs boson mass is given. Corrections arising from the exchange of the new leptons and their super-partners, as well as their mirrors are computed analytically and numerically. We also study the correlation between the enhanced Higgs diphoton rate and the Higgs mass corrections. Specifically, we find two branches in the numerical analysis: on the lower branch the diphoton rate enhancement is flat while on the upper branch it has a strong correlation with the Higgs mass enhancement. …

The full data set acquired in 2010 is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 37 pb^-1. The background, consisting of hadronic jets and isolated electrons, is estimated with fully data-driven techniques and subtracted. The differential cross-sections, as functions of the di-photon mass, total transverse momentum and azimuthal separation, are presented and compared to the predictions of next-to-leading-order QCD.
A search for a narrow Higgs boson resonance in the diphoton mass spectrum is presented based on data corresponding to 10 fb-1 of integrated luminosity from proton-antiproton collisions at \surds = 1.96 TeV collected by the CDF experiment. In addition to searching for a resonance in the diphoton mass spectrum, we employ a multivariate discriminant technique for the first time in this channel at CDF. No evidence of signal is observed, and upper limits are set on the cross section times branching ratio of the resonant state as a function of Higgs boson mass. The limits are interpreted in the cont…
Recent searches conducted at the Fermilab Tevatron for the Higgs boson in the diphoton decay channel are reported using 7.0 fb$^{-1}$ and 8.2 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected at the CDF and D0 experiments, respectively. Although the standard model (SM) branching fraction is small, the diphoton final state is appealing due to better diphoton mass resolution compared with dijet final states. In addition, other models --- such as fermiophobic models where the Higgs does not couple to fermions --- predict much larger branching fractions for the diphoton decay. Here, results are presented for both a SM …

No excess of events was observed above the Standard Model prediction and 95% Confidence Level (CL) upper limits are set on the production cross section for new physics: sigma < (22-129) fb in the context of a generalised model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GGM) with a bino-like lightest neutralino, sigma < (27-91) fb in the context of a minimal model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (SPS8…
The significance of discovering the boson of 750 GeV is beyond finding a single heavy boson, because it may hint the location of the scale for new physics beyond the standard model which is the target of long-time exploration. There have been many models to explain the diphoton excess observed by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations and the BLMSSM is one of them. The BLMSSM is an extension of the minimal supersymmetric model where baryon and lepton numbers are local gauge symmetries. We analyze the decay channels $Φ\rightarrow gg$, $Φ\rightarrowγγ$, $Φ\rightarrow Zγ$, and $Φ\rightarrow \bar{t}t,\;…

A 95 % CL low…

The analysis is based on proton--proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV recorded in 2015. Two searches are performed, one targeted at a spin-2 particle of mass larger than 500 GeV, using Randall--Sundrum graviton states as a benchmark model, and one optimized for a spin-0 particle of mass larger than 200 GeV. Varying both the mass and the decay width, the most significant deviation from the background-onl…

The diphoton invariant mass spectrum of the data agrees well with the standard model expectation. We set upper limits on the production cross section times branching ratio for the Randall-Sundrum graviton, as a function of diphoton mass. These limits are the most restrictive bounds on virtual-graviton exchange to date. The m…
