A search for diphoton events with large missing transverse momentum has been performed using 1.07 fb^-1 of proton-proton collision data at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. No excess of events was observed above the Standard Model prediction and 95% Confidence Level (CL) upper limits are set on the production cross section for new physics: sigma < (22-129) fb in the context of a generalised model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GGM) with a bino-like lightest neutralino, sigma < (27-91) fb in the context of a minimal model of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (SPS8) and (15-27) fb in the context of a specific model with one universal extra dimension (UED). A 95% CL lower limit of 805 GeV, for bino masses above 50 GeV, is set on the GGM gluino mass. Lower limits of 145 TeV and 1.23 TeV are set on the SPS8 breaking scale Lambda and on the UED compactification scale 1/R, respectively. These limits provide the most stringent tests of these models to date.
A search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy is presented. The data were collected with the ATLAS detector in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3.1/pb. No excess of such events is observed above the Standard Model background prediction. In the context of a specific model with one Universal Extra Dimension with compactification radius R and gravity-induced decays, values of 1/R < 728 GeV are excluded at 95% CL, providing the most sensitive limit on this model to date.
The large difference between the Planck scale and the electroweak scale, known as the hierarchy problem, has been addressed in some models through the existence of extra spatial dimensions. A search for evidence of extra spatial dimensions has been performed, through an analysis of the diphoton final state in data recorded in 2011 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The analysis uses a dataset of 2.12 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at sqrts=7 TeV. The diphoton invariant mass spectrum is observed to be in good agreement with the expected Standard Model (SM) background. …
A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is performed in the diphoton decay channel. The data used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. In the diphoton mass range 110-150 GeV, the largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is observed at 126.5 GeV, with a local significance of 2.8 standard deviations. Taking the look-elsewhere effect into account in the range 110-150 GeV, this significance becomes 1.5 standard deviations.…
A search for new spin-0 resonances decaying into two photons in the ATLAS experiment at the LHC is described. The analysis is based on $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV corresponding to integrated luminosities of 3.2/fb and 12.2/fb recorded in 2015 and 2016, respectively. No significant excess at such mass over the background expectation is observed in the 2016 data. Limits on the production cross section times b…
The ATLAS experiment has measured the production cross-section of events with two isolated photons in the final state, in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The full data set acquired in 2010 is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 37 pb^-1. The background, consisting of hadronic jets and isolated electrons, is estimated with fully data-driven techniques and subtracted. The differential cross-sections, as functions of the di-photon mass, total transverse momentum and azimuthal separation, are presented and compared to the predictions of next-to-leading-order QCD.

A search has been performed for photons originating in the decay of a neutral long-lived particle, exploiting the capabilities of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter to make precise measurements of the flight direction of photons, as well as the calorimeter's excellent time resolution. The search has been made in the diphoton plus missing transverse energy final state, using the full data sample of 4.8/fb of 7 TeV proton-proton collisions collected in 2011 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. No excess is observed above the background expected from Standard Model processes. The results are us…
A search for a fermiophobic Higgs boson using diphoton events produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV is performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9/fb collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A specific benchmark model is considered where all the fermion couplings to the Higgs boson are set to zero and the bosonic couplings are kept at the Standard Model values (fermiophobic Higgs model). The largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is found at 125.5 GeV, with a local significance …
Making use of 36 pb^-1 of proton-proton collision data at sqrt{s} = 7 TeV, the ATLAS Collaboration has performed a search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy. Observing no excess of events above the Standard Model prediction, a 95% Confidence Level (CL) upper limit is set on the cross section for new physics of sigma < 0.38 - 0.65 pb in the context of a generalised model of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GGM) with a bino-like lightest neutralino, and of sigma < 0.18 - 0.23 pb in the context of a specific model with one universal extra dimension (UED). A 95 % CL low…
A search has been performed, using the full 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ data sample of 8 TeV proton--proton collisions collected in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC, for photons originating from a displaced vertex due to the decay of a neutral long-lived particle into a photon and an invisible particle. The analysis investigates the diphoton plus missing transverse momentum final state, and is therefore most sensitive to pair-production of long-lived particles. The analysis technique exploits the capabilities of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter to make precise measurements of the flight directi…
We consider the diphoton resonance at the 13 TeV LHC in a consistent model with new scalars and vector-like fermions added to the Standard Model (SM), which can be constructed from orbifold grand unified theories and string models. The gauge coupling unification can be achieved, neutrino masses can be generated radiatively, and electroweak vacuum stability problem can be solved. To explain the diphoton resonance, we study a spin-0 particle, and discuss various associated final states.
Searches for new phenomena in high-mass diphoton final states with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC are presented. The analysis is based on $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.7 fb$^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV recorded in 2015 and 2016. Searches are performed for resonances with spin 0, as predicted by theories with an extended Higgs sector, and for resonances with spin 2, using a warped extra-dimension model as a benchmark model, as well as for non-resonant signals, assuming a large extra-dimension scenario. No significant deviation from t…
This article describes a search for high-mass resonances decaying to a pair of photons using a sample of $20.3$ fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The data are found to be in agreement with the Standard Model prediction, and limits are reported in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum model. This theory leads to the prediction of graviton states, the lightest of which could be observed at the Large Hadron Collider. A lower limit of $2.66$ ($1.41$) TeV at 95% confidence level is set on the mass of the lightest graviton …

The recently discovered Higgs boson is treated as a background. No significant evidence for an additional signal is observed. The results are presented as limits at the 95 % confidence level on the production cross-section of a scalar boson times branching ratio into two photons, in a fiducial volume where the reconstruction efficiency is approximat…
The high mass spectrum of lepton and photon pairs is sensitive to a broad array of new physics. Examples include searches for extra dimensions in the dielectron and diphoton channels. A direct search for electron compositeness is possible in the production of excited electrons decaying into an electron and a photon. In addition, the electron plus missing transverse energy data sample can be searched for a W' boson. Latest results in searches in the high mass dielectron, diphoton, electron plus photon, and electron plus missing transverse energy channels obtained by the D0 experiment at the Tev…

The large difference between the Planck scale and the electroweak scale, known as the hierarchy problem, is addressed in certain models through the postulate of extra spatial dimensions. A search for evidence of extra spatial dimensions in the diphoton channel has been performed using the full set of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV recorded in 2011 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. This dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb. The diphoton invariant mass spectrum is observed to be in good agreement with the Standard Model expectation. In t…
A measurement of the production processes of the recently discovered Higgs boson is performed in the two-photon final state using 5.4 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions data at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The number of observed Higgs boson decays to diphotons divided by the corresponding Standard Model prediction, called the signal strength, is found to be $μ= 1.17 \pm 0.27$ at the value of the Higgs boson mass measured by ATLAS, $m_{H}$ = 125.4 GeV. The analysis is optimized to measure the signal stre…
We present the results of a search for anomalous production of diphoton events with large missing transverse energy using the Collider Detector at Fermilab. In 202 $\invpb$ of $\ppbar$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV we observe no candidate events, with an expected standard model background of $0.27\pm0.07({\rm stat})\pm0.10({\rm syst})$ events. The results exclude a lightest chargino of mass less than 167 GeV/$c^2$, and lightest neutralino of mass less than 93 GeV/$c^2$ at 95% C.L. in a gauge--mediated supersymmetry-- breaking model with a light gravitino.
We report a search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy produced in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV. The data were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, and correspond to 6.3 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. The observed missing transverse energy distribution is well described by the standard model prediction, and 95% C.L. limits are derived on two realizations of theories beyond the standard model. In a gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario, the breaking scale Lambda is excluded for Lambda < 124 TeV. In a universal extra dimension mo…
Measurements of fiducial and differential cross sections are presented for Higgs boson production in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV. The analysis is performed in the $H \rightarrow γγ$ decay channel using 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The signal is extracted using a fit to the diphoton invariant mass spectrum assuming that the width of the resonance is much smaller than the experimental resolution. The signal yields are corrected for the effects of detector inefficiency and resolution. The $pp…
Searches for new resonances decaying into two photons in the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider are described. The analysis is based on proton--proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV recorded in 2015. Two searches are performed, one targeted at a spin-2 particle of mass larger than 500 GeV, using Randall--Sundrum graviton states as a benchmark model, and one optimized for a spin-0 particle of mass larger than 200 GeV. Varying both the mass and the decay width, the most significant deviation from the background-onl…
After the discovery of a Higgs boson, the measurements of its properties are at the forefront of research. The determination of the associated production of a Higgs boson and a pair of top quarks is of particular importance as the ttH Yukawa coupling is large and thus an excellent probe for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). For the complete LHC Run-1 dataset, the combined ATLAS and CMS signal strength (defined as the ratio of measured cross-section to the SM prediction) was $μ=2.3^{+0.7}_{-0.6}$, which indicated a mild excess with respect to the SM expectation. The results of the ttH sea…
We combine the results of the CDF and D0 searches for chargino and neutralino production in Gauge-Mediated SUSY using the two-photon and missing Et channel. The data are p-pbar collisions produced at the Tevatron with sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, with 202 pb^-1 collected at CDF and 263 pb^-1 collected at D0. The combined limit excludes a chargino mass less than 209 GeV/c^2. This result significantly extends the individual experimental limits.
We present a calculation of Bayes-factors for the digamma resonance ($\digamma$) versus the SM in light of ATLAS 8 TeV 20.3/fb, 13 TeV 3.2/fb and 13 TeV 15.4/fb data, sidestepping any difficulties in interpreting significances in frequentist statistics. We matched, wherever possible, parameterisations in the ATLAS analysis. We calculated that the plausibility of the $\digamma$ versus the Standard Model increased by about eight in light of the 8 TeV 20.3/fb and 13 TeV 3.2/fb ATLAS data, somewhat justifying interest in $\digamma$ models. All told, however, in light of 15.4/fb data, the $\digamma…
We present the results of a search for supersymmetry with gauge-mediated breaking and $\NONE\toγ\Gravitino$ in the $γγ$+missing transverse energy final state. In 2.6$\pm$0.2 \invfb of $p{\bar p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$$=$1.96 TeV recorded by the CDF II detector we observe no candidate events, consistent with a standard model background expectation of 1.4$\pm$0.4 events. We set limits on the cross section at the 95% C.L. and place the world's best limit of 149\gevc on the \none mass at $τ_{\tildeχ_1^0}$$<<$1 ns. We also exclude regions in the \none\ mass-lifetime plane for $τ_{\tildeχ_1^0}$$\…
A search for signals of new physics has been carried out in the channel p pbar -> gamma gamma + ETmiss. This signature is expected in various recently proposed supersymmetric (SUSY) models. We observe 842 events with two photons having transverse momentum ET(g) > 12 GeV and pseudorapidity |eta(g)| < 1.1. Of these, none have missing transverse energy (ETmiss) in excess of 25 GeV. The distribution of ETmiss is consistent with that of the expected background. We therefore set limits on production cross sections for selectron, sneutrino and neutralino pairs, decaying into photons. The limits range…
Properties of the Higgs boson are measured in the two-photon final state using 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data recorded at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Cross-section measurements for the production of a Higgs boson through gluon-gluon fusion, vector-boson fusion, and in association with a vector bosonor a top-quark pair are reported. The signal strength, defined as the ratio of the observed to the expected signal yield, is measured for each of these production processes as well as inclusively. The global signal strength measurement of…
A measurement of inclusive and differential fiducial cross-sections for the production of the Higgs boson decaying into two photons is performed using $139~\text{fb}^{-1}$ of proton--proton collision data recorded at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The inclusive cross-section times branching ratio, in a fiducial region closely matching the experimental selection, is measured to be $67\pm 6$ fb, which is in agreement with the state-of-the-art Standard Model prediction of $64\pm 4$ fb. Extrapolating this result to the full phase space and correcting for …
We study the implications of the LHC diphoton and Z+photon Higgs signals on the Higgs triplet model with Y=0. We discuss three different scenarios: (i) the observed boson is the light Higgs boson $h$; (ii) it is the heavy Higgs boson $H$; (iii) the observed signal is from the almost degenerate $h$ and $H$. We find that the inclusive Higgs diphoton rates in the first two scenarios can be enhanced or suppressed compared to the SM value, which can respectively fit the ATLAS and CMS diphoton data within $1σ$ range. The inclusive $ZZ^*$ rates are suppressed, which are outside $1σ$ range of ATLAS da…

Searches for resonances in final states with leptons and photons have always been a powerful tool for discovery in high energy physics. We present here the latest results from the ATLAS and CMS experiments, based on up to 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of 13 TeV proton-proton collisions produced at the Large Hadron Collider. Detailed results on single lepton, dilepton, diphoton and Z$γ$ resonances are included.
Motivated by the recent diphoton excesses reported by both ATLAS and CMS collaborations, we suggest that a new heavy spinless particle is produced in gluon fusion at the LHC and decays to a couple of lighter pseudoscalars which then decay to photons. The new resonances could arise from a new strongly interacting sector and couple to Standard Model gauge bosons only via the corresponding Wess-Zumino-Witten anomaly. We present a detailed recast of the newest 13 TeV data from ATLAS and CMS together with the 8 TeV data to scan the consistency of the parameter space for those resonances.
The production of jets and prompt isolated photons at hadron colliders provides stringent tests of perturbative QCD. We present the latest measurements of photon+jets and diphoton production using proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The measurements are compared to state-of-the-art NLO and NNLO predictions.
This note describes an assessment of the statistical significance of the recently released ATLAS data regarding the Higgs search in the decay channels especially suited for the low mass region, in particular the diphoton and four lepton decay channels. Besides providing the significance evaluation of the considered channels, alone or combined, in the low mass range from 110 to 146 GeV, some details of the profile likelihood procedure employed for the calculations are described, too. Special emphasis is given to the look elsewhere effect, which arises when the search of a new signal is carried …
This paper describes a measurement of light-by-light scattering based on Pb+Pb collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment during Run 2 of the LHC. The study uses $2.2$ nb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected in 2015 and 2018 at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=5.02$ TeV. Light-by-light scattering candidates are selected in events with two photons produced exclusively, each with transverse energy $E_{\mathrm{T}}^γ > 2.5$ GeV, pseudorapidity $|η_γ| < 2.37$, diphoton invariant mass $m_{γγ} > 5$ GeV, and with small diphoton transverse momentum and diphoton acoplanarity. The integrated and different…
The ATLAS and CMS experiments have recently discovered a new 125 GeV scalar boson. We show that the properties of this scalar, including the enhancement of its diphoton decay rate, can be explained in a model with an isospin symmetric Higgs boson. The predictions of the model relevant for future experiments are also discussed.
Recently, both ATLAS and CMS collaborations report an excess at 750GeV in the diphoton invariant mass spectrum at 13TeV LHC. If it is a new scalar produced via loop induced gluon-gluon fusion process, it is important to know what is the particle in the loop. In this work, we investigate the possibility of determine the fraction of the contribution from the standard model top-quark in the loop.
The ATLAS and CMS groups have recently reported an excess at around 750 GeV with the local significance by about 3 sigma in the diphoton channel at the 13 TeV LHC. We give a possible explanation for the excess by a composite pseudo scalar $(P^0)$ predicted in the one-family model of walking technicolor.
Recently, ATLAS and CMS collaboration reported an excess in the diphoton events, which can be explained by a new resonance with mass around 750 GeV. In this work, we explored the possibility of identifying if the hypothetical new resonance is produced through gluon-gluon fusion or quark-antiquark annihilation, or tagging the beam. Three different observables for beam tagging, namely the rapidity and transverse momentum distribution of the diphoton, and one tagged bottom-jet cross section, are proposed. Combining the information gained from these observables, a clear distinction of the producti…
In light of the significant progress of the LHC to determine the properties of the Higgs boson, we investigate the capability of the Manohar-Wise model in explaining the Higgs data. This model extends the SM by one family of color-octet and isospin-doublet scalars, and it can sizably alter the coupling strengths of the Higgs boson with gluons and photons. We first examine the current constraints on the model, which are from unitarity, the LHC searches for the scalars and the electroweak precision data (EWPD).In implementing the unitarity constraint, we use the properties of the SU(3) group to …
Search in diphoton and dielectron final states for displaced production of Higgs or $Z$ bosons with the ATLAS detector in $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV $pp$ collisions
Light-by-light scattering ($γγ\rightarrowγγ$) is a quantum-mechanical process that is forbidden in the classical theory of electrodynamics. This reaction is accessible at the Large Hadron Collider thanks to the large electromagnetic field strengths generated by ultra-relativistic colliding lead (Pb) ions. Using 480 $μ$b$^{-1}$ of Pb+Pb collision data recorded at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5.02 TeV by the ATLAS detector, the ATLAS Collaboration reports evidence for the $γγ\rightarrowγγ$ reaction. A total of 13 candidate events are observed with an expected background of 2.6$\pm…
We report the results of a search for supersymmetry (SUSY) with gauge-mediated breaking in the missing transverse energy distribution of inclusive diphoton events using 263 pb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider in 2002--2004. No excess is observed above the background expected from standard model processes, and lower limits on the masses of the lightest neutralino and chargino of about 108 and 195 GeV, respectively, are set at the 95% confidence level. These are the most stringent limits to date for models with gauge-mediated SUSY breaking with a sh…
A review of the searches for the SM Higgs boson produced in association with a pair of top quarks, ${t\bar{t}H}$, using up to 13.3 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. Searches in the diphoton, multilepton and $b\bar{b}$ decay channels are summarised. The combination of these searches yields a measured (expected) significance for the observation of the ${t\bar{t}H}$ production process of $2.8 σ$ ($1.8 σ$).
A measurement of prompt photon-pair production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV is presented. The data were recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$. Events with two photons in the well-instrumented region of the detector are selected. The photons are required to be isolated and have a transverse momentum of $p_\mathrm{T,γ_{1(2)}} > 40(30)$ GeV for the leading (sub-leading) photon. The differential cross sections as functions of several observables for the diphoton system are measured and compared with theoretical predictions from…
The observation and measurement of missing transverse energy in an event is a key signature in SUSY searches. This paper describes the reconstruction and calibration of missing transverse energy in ATLAS, and addresses the quality of the measurement in a variety of simulated processes which contain physical missing transverse energy such as $Z$ $\to$ $τ^{+}τ^{-}$, $A^{0}$ / $H^{0}$ $\to$ $τ^{+}τ^{-}$, $t$$\bar{t}$, and SUSY as well as processes which contain no missing transverse energy such as minimum bias and $Z$+jets. Expectations for the use of early data in evaluation of the measurement o…
We report on the search for the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying into two photons based on proton-proton collision data with a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The dataset has an integrated luminosity of about 1.08 fb-1. The expected cross section exclusion at 95% confidence level varies between 2.0 and 5.8 times the Standard Model cross section over the diphoton mass range 110 - 150 GeV. The maximum deviations from the background-only expectation are consistent with statistical fluctuations.
Preliminary ATLAS and CMS results from the first 13 TeV LHC run have encountered an intriguing excess of events in the diphoton channel around the invariant mass of 750 GeV. We investigate a possibility that the current excess is due to a heavy resonance decaying to light metastable states, which in turn give displaced decays to very highly collimated $e^+e^-$ pairs. Such decays may pass the photon selection criteria, and successfully mimic the diphoton events, especially at low counts. We investigate two classes of such models, characterized by the following underlying production and decay ch…
The generic missing transverse energy signals at LHC for theories having large extra dimensions are discussed. Final states of jets plus missing energy and photons plus missing energy are simulated in the ATLAS detector. The discovery limit of LHC and the methods to determine the parameters of the underlying model are discussed.
The ATLAS detector has been used to search for high-mass states decaying into a single high momentum lepton and missing transverse energy, such as new heavy charged gauge bosons. The latest search results for a W Prime boson decaying to lepton plus neutrino in 1.04 fb^-1 of proton-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV produced at the Large Hadron Collider are presented.
We report preliminary results on a search for new phenomena in an event sample with monojets and large missing transverse momentum in the final state. The analysis uses 1.00 fb-1 of data collected in 2011 with the ATLAS detector. Good agreement is observed between the number of events in data and the Standard Model predictions. The results are translated into improved limits on a model with Large Extra Dimensions.
Weak scale supersymmetry is one of the best motivated and studied Standard Model extensions. It predicts the existence of new heavy coloured particles called squarks and gluinos which are the supersymmetric partners of the quarks and gluons, respectively. The poster summarises results on inclusive searches for supersymmetric squarks and gluinos in events containing jets and missing transverse momentum without leptons. The searches use the full data sample recorded in 2012 at $\sqrt{s}$=8~TeV centre-of-mass energy by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
A search for new phenomena in events featuring a high energy jet and large missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV is presented using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 33 pb^-1 recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The number of observed events is consistent with the Standard Model prediction and this result is interpreted in terms of limits on a model of Large Extra Dimensions.
This letter reports the results of a search for top and bottom squarks from gluino pair production in 4.7 fb^-1 of pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The search is performed in events with large missing transverse momentum and at least three jets identified as originating from a b-quark. Exclusion limits are presented for a variety of gluino-mediated models with gluino masses up to 1 TeV excluded.
The 750 GeV diphoton excess reported by ATLAS and CMS indicates the presence of several pairs of the vector-like matter multiplets around TeV scale. If that is the case, radiative corrections from the $SU(3)$ gauge interaction significantly change from those of MSSM, and the infrared-free nature of the gauge interaction leads to characteristic SUSY mass spectra: a ratio of a squark mass to the gluino mass, and scalar trilinear couplings are enhanced at the low-energy scale. Consequently, even in gaugino mediation models, the Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV is explained with the fairly light gluino…
It has been recently pointed out that a momentum-dependent coupling of the asymmetric Dark Matter (ADM) with nucleons can explain the broad disagreement between helioseismological observables and the predictions of standard solar models. In this paper, we propose a minimal simplified ADM model consisting of a scalar and a pseudoscalar mediator, in addition to a Dirac fermionic DM, for generating such momentum-dependent interactions. Remarkably, the pseudoscalar with mass around 750 GeV can simultaneously explain the solar anomaly and the recent diphoton excess observed by both ATLAS and CMS ex…
