The flavorful $Z^\prime$ model with its couplings restricted to the left-handed second generation leptons and third generation quarks can potentially resolve the observed anomalies in $R_K$ and $R_{K^*}$. After examining the current limits on this model from various low-energy processes, we probe this scenario at 14 TeV high-luminosity run of the LHC using two complementary channels: one governed by the coupling of $Z'$ to $b$-quarks and the other to muons. We also discuss the implications of the latest LHC high mass resonance searches in the dimuon channel on the model parameter space of our interest.
$U(1)^\prime$ extensions of the standard model with generation-dependent couplings to quarks and leptons are investigated as an explanation of anomalies in rare $B$-decays, with an emphasis on stability and predictivity up to the Planck scale. To these ends, we introduce three generations of vector-like standard model singlet fermions, an enlarged, flavorful scalar sector, and, possibly, right-handed neutrinos, all suitably charged under the $U(1)^\prime$ gauge interaction. We identify several gauge-anomaly free benchmarks consistent with $B_s$-mixing constraints, with hints for electron-muon …
$B$-physics data and flavor symmetries suggest that leptoquarks can have masses as low as few ${\cal{O}}(\mbox{TeV})$, predominantly decay to third generation quarks, and highlight $pp \to b μμ$ signatures from single production and $pp \to b b μμ$ from pair production. Abandoning flavor symmetries could allow for inverted quark hierarchies, and cause sizable $pp \to j μμ$ and $jj μμ$ cross sections, induced by second generation couplings. Final states with leptons other than muons including lepton flavor violation (LFV) ones can also arise. The corresponding couplings can also be probed by pr…
Motivated by our limited knowledge of the Higgs couplings to first two generation fermions, we analyze the collider phenomenology of a class of two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs) with a non-standard Yukawa sector. One Higgs doublet is mainly responsible for the masses of the weak gauge bosons and the third generation fermions, while the second Higgs doublet provides mass for the lighter fermion generations. The characteristic collider signatures of this setup differ significantly from well-studied 2HDMs with natural flavor conservation, flavor alignment, or minimal flavor violation. New producti…

In this paper we study the phenomenology of color-octet and color-singlet scalars in the flavorful Top-Coloron model. We discuss the relevant production mechanisms at hadron colliders and the dominant decay modes, highlighting the most promising signatures for discovery, and derive bounds on the masses of the new scalars from LHC and Tevatron data. Of particular interest is the case in which color-octet scalars are pair produced and each decay to t cbar or tbar c, leading to a same-sign-dilepton final state. LHC data places a lower limit of 440 GeV on the octet mass in this scenario. The case …
Evidence for electron-muon universality violation that has been revealed in $b\to s \ell\ell$ transitions in the observables $R_{K,K^*}$ by the LHCb Collaboration can be explained with spin-1 leptoquarks in $SU(2)_L$ singlet $V_1$ or triplet $V_3$ representations in the ${\cal{O}}(1-10)$ TeV range. We explore the sensitivity of the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and future proton-proton colliders to $V_1$ and $V_3$ in the parameter space connected to $R_{K,K^*}$-data. We consider pair production and single production in association with muons in different flavor benchmarks. Reinterpreting a rece…
In the present work the $Z^\prime tc$ coupling is bounded by using the current experimental data on the $D^{0}-\bar{D^{0}}$ meson-mixing system. It is found that the strength associated to this coupling is less than $5.75\times 10^{-2}$. The single top production through the $e^+e^-\to Z^\prime\to tc$ process at the $Z^\prime$ boson resonance is studied and we found that around $10^7$ $tc$ events will be expected at the International Linear Collider. For the $Z^\prime\to tc$ decay, we predict a branching ratio of $10^{-2}$.
We derive the three loop soft function for inclusive Higgs production in gluon fusion, and use it to perform the resummation of the Higgs cross section at N$^3$LL$^\prime$ in SCET. We improve the accuracy of the resummation by including contributions of collinear origin. We include finite top, bottom and charm mass effect where available. These results are available through the public code ResHiggs.
A variety of new physics models predict the existence of extra charged gauge bosons ($W^\prime$). It is verified that $W^\prime$ and top quark associated production is a promising process to search for $W^\prime$ signal at the LHC. We study the collider signatures of multi-jets$+$lepton$+\met$ by reconstructing the $tW'$ intermediate state through the decay modes of $W^\prime \to tb$, $W^\prime \to q \bar q'$ and $W^\prime \to l ν$ respectively. An angular distribution related to charged lepton and top quark moving direction is provided to distinguish alternative left-handed or right-handed ch…
In the present work, we investigate the production mechanism of the $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ states from the $Υ(5S,6S)$ decays. Two types of bottom-meson loops are discussed. We show that the loop contributions with all intermediate states being the $S$-wave ground state bottom mesons are negligible, while the loops with one bottom meson being the broad $B_0^\ast$ or $B_1^\prime$ resonance could provide the dominant contributions to the $Υ(5S) \to Z_b^{(\prime)} π$. It is found that such a mechanism is not suppressed by the large width of the $B_0/B_1'$ resonance. In addition, we also est…
A gauged U$(1)$ extension of the Standard Model (SM) is a simple and anomaly free framework where three generations of Majorana type right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) are introduced to generate light neutrino mass and flavor mixings through the seesaw mechanism. We investigate such models at different hadron and lepton colliders via $Z^\prime$ induced Majorana type RHNs pair production. We derive bounds on U$(1)$ gauge coupling $(g^\prime)$ comparing the model cross sections with experimentally observed data for different $Z^\prime$ mass $(M_{Z^\prime})$ and RHNs mass $(M_N)$. Using these limits w…
We investigate the possibility to detect the scalar Higgs boson decay $H\to b\bar b$ in the associated $Z$ and $b\bar b$ production at the LHC using the $k_T$-factorization QCD approach. Our consideration is based on the off-shell (i.e. depending on the transverse momenta of initial quarks and gluons) production amplitudes of $q^* \bar q^* \to Z H \to Z q^\prime \bar q^\prime$, $q^* \bar q^* \to Z q^\prime \bar q^\prime$ and $g^* g^* \to Z q^\prime \bar q^\prime$ partonic subprocesses supplemented with the Catani-Ciafoloni-Fiorani-Marchesini (CCFM) dynamics of parton densities in a proton. We …
In this work we study the interactions of the $Z$ and $Z^{\prime}$ generated by kinetic mixing in a class of theories for physics beyond the standard model motivated by the dark matter problem, containing a spontaneously broken extra $U(1)_{d}$ gauge factor group in a hidden scenario and a Higgs sector respecting custodial symmetry. It is shown that custodial symmetry allows us to write the $Z$ and $Z^{\prime}$ couplings to standard model fermions in terms of the measured values of $α$, $G_{F}$, $M_{Z}$ and $M_{Z^{\prime}}$. Working at the loop level, we calculate the ratio $ρ_{0}=M^{2}_{W}/\h…
Recent simulation studies indicate that right-handed neutrinos may be discovered at future high luminosity LHC runs as long as a new neutral gauge boson, $Z^{\prime}$, have been discovered first. In this case, when $Z^{\prime}$ is resonantly produced at the LHC it, subsequently, decays into pair of right-handed neutrinos with mass up to TeV scale. Then the decay of these neutrinos leave as signature tri-lepton final states and/or same-sign di-muon and a boost di-boson. The prospect of discovering right-handed neutrinos through this mechanism has been developed within abelian gauge extension of…
We adopt a Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to examine various new physics models which can generate the forward-backward asymmetry in top quark pair production observed at the Tevatron by the CDF Collaboration. We study the following new physics models: (1) exotic gluon $G^\prime$, (2) extra $Z^\prime$ boson with flavor-conserving interaction, (3) extra $Z^\prime$ with flavor-violating $u$-$t$-$Z^\prime$ interaction, (4) extra $W^\prime$ with flavor-violating $d$-$t$-$W^\prime$ interaction, and (5) extra scalars $S$ and $S^\pm$ with flavor-violating $u$-$t$-$S$ and $d$-$t$-$S^\pm$ interactions…
In the present work, we investigate the dipion transitions between $Υ(5S)$ and $Υ_J(1D)$ with $J=1, 2, 3$. Our analysis indicates that the dominant sources of the anomalously large widths of $Υ(5S)\to Υ_J(1D) π^+ π^-$ should be $Z_b^{(\prime)}$, i.e., the dipion transitions occur via the cascade decays $Υ(5S)\to Z_b^{(\prime)\pm} π^\mp \to Υ_J(1D) π^+ π^-$. With the assumption that all the short ranged dynamics could be absorbed in a single cutoff with a model parameter $α$, the present estimations indicate that in a reasonable parameter range the measured branching ratios of $Υ(5S) \to Υ_J(1D…
We investigate the pair production of right-handed neutrinos from the decay of an additional neutral $Z^{\prime}$ boson in the gauged $B-L$ model. Taking into account current constraints on the $Z^{\prime}$ mass and the associated gauge coupling $g_{1}^{\prime}$, we analyse the sensitivity of proposed experiments at the lifetime frontier, FASER 2, CODEX-b, MATHUSLA as well as a hypothetical version of the MAPP detector to a long lived heavy neutrino $N$ originating in the decays of the $Z^{\prime}$. We further complement this study with determining the reach of LHCb and a CMS-type detector for…
Non-resonant production of Higgs-pair via heavy intermediate states may be a distinctive signature for extended discrete symmetries when accompaied by large missing transvers energy. We discuss $T$-parity as an example of such symmetry within the Littlest Higgs Model, where a new heavy gauge boson $Z'$, the $T$-odd partner of SM $Z$-boson, predominately decays into to a Higgs boson and a dark matter candidate $χ$. In essence, $T$-parity stablises simultaneously both the Higgs mass and the dark matter. Production via $pp\rightarrow Z' Z'\rightarrow 2h 2χ$ may therefore yield important clues abo…
The heavy charged gauge bosons were proposed in the theories beyond standard model. We explore the discovery potential for $W'\to t\bar{b}$ with top quark semi-leptonic decay at the LHC. We concentrate on the new physics signal search with the deviation from the standard model prediction if the resonance peak of $W'$ can not be observed directly. The events of signal with two jets plus one charged lepton and missing energy are simulated together with the dominant standard model backgrounds. In this paper, it is found that suitable cuts on the kinematic observables can effectively suppress the …

The appearance of spin-1 resonances associated to the electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) sector is expected in many extensions of the Standard Model. We analyze the CERN Large Hadron Collider potential to probe the spin of possible new charged and neutral vector resonances through the purely leptonic processes pp --> Z^\prime --> l^+ l^{\prime -} Emiss_T, and pp --> W^\prime --> l^{\prime \pm} l^+ l^- Emiss_T, with l, l^\prime = e or μ. We perform a model independent analysis and demonstrate that the spin of the new states can be determined with 99% CL in a large fraction of the parameter sp…
The doubly heavy baryon $Ξ_{QQ^{\prime}}$ ($Q^{(\prime)}$ = $b$ or $c$) is different from the ordinary baryons. The production of the doubly heavy baryon can provide valuable insight on how the colored $(QQ^{\prime})$-diquark can be transformed into the color-singlet baryon. As a sequential work of Ref.[2], we make a further study on the doubly heavy baryon production through the $e^+ e^-$ annihilation channel, $e^{+} + e^{-}\rightarrowγ/Z^0 \rightarrow Ξ_{QQ^{\prime}} +\bar{Q} +\bar{Q^{\prime}}$, within the nonrelativistic QCD framework. In addition to the total cross sections, we present the…

We use the results of CMS and ATLAS searches for resonances that decay to $τν$ or $tb$ and $τ^+τ^-$ or $t\bar t$ final states to constrain the parameters of non-universal $W^\prime$ and $Z^\prime$ gauge bosons that couple preferentially to the third generation. For the former we consider production from $c\bar{b}$ annihilation and find very weak constraints on the strength of the interaction and only for the mass range between 800 and 1100 GeV from the $pp \to τ_h p_T^{\rm miss}$ channel. The constraints on the latter are much stronger and arise from both $t\bar t$ and $τ^+τ^-$ production. Tre…
I update the predicted leading order and next-to-leading order cross sections and total widths for W^\prime bosons that decay to top and bottom quarks at 14 TeV and 33 TeV pp colliders (pp -> W^\prime -> tb). Separate tables are included for right- and left-handed bosons. Theoretical uncertainties are completely dominated by parton distribution function uncertainties, and are computed for W^\prime_+- production at a 14 TeV pp collider.
Within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD, we make a detailed discussion on the doubly heavy baryon production through the $e^+ e^-$ annihilation channel, $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowγ/Z^0 \rightarrow Ξ_{QQ^{\prime}} +\bar{Q} +\bar{Q^{\prime}}$, at a high luminosity $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. Here $Q^{(\prime)}$ stands for the heavy $b$ or $c$ quark. In addition to the channel through the usually considered diquark state $(QQ^{\prime})[^3S_1]_{\bf\bar{3}}$, contributions from the channels through other same important diquark states such as $(QQ^{\prime})[^1S_0]_{\bf 6}$ have also been discussed. Uncer…
We investigate the rare radiative decays of extra gauge neutral bosons. In particular, we established the theoretical predictions for the production of unparticle in decays of $Z^{\prime}$ - bosons. The implementation of our prediction in the analysis at the LHC experiments should be straightforward and lead to more precise determination or limits of unparticle couplings and/or $Z^{\prime}$ couplings and masses.
In comparison with J/ψ, the excited charmonium state ψ^\prime is loosely bounded and its yield is dominantly from the B-hadron decay. Based on the transport approach, we study the double ratio of N(ψ^\prime)/N(J/ψ) from A+A collisions to that from p+p collisions at LHC energy. We found that the primordial production in the initial stage and the regeneration in the hot medium are not significant for ψ^\prime production in heavy ion collisions at LHC and the double ratio in semi-central and central collisions is controlled by the B decay.
There may exist seven $\bar D^{(*)} Σ_c^{(*)}$ hadronic molecular states. We construct their corresponding interpolating currents, and calculate their masses and decay constants using QCD sum rules. Based on these results, we calculate their relative production rates in $Λ_b^0$ decays through the current algebra, i.e., $\mathcal{B}(Λ_b^0 \to P_c K^-):\mathcal{B}(Λ_b^0 \to P_c^\prime K^-)$ with $P_c$ and $P_c^\prime$ two different states. We also study their decay properties through the Fierz rearrangement, and further calculate these ratios in the $J/ψp$ mass spectrum, i.e., $\mathcal{B}(Λ_b^0…
We present compact analytic results for the one-loop amplitude for the process $0 \rightarrow q \bar{q} \ell \bar\ell \ell^\prime \bar{\ell}^\prime g$, relevant for both the production of a pair of $Z$ and $W$-bosons in association with a jet. We focus on the gauge-invariant contribution mediated by a loop of quarks. We explicitly include all effects of the loop-quark mass $m$, appropriate for the production of a pair of $Z$-bosons. In the limit $m \to 0$, our results are also applicable to the production of $W$-boson pairs, mediated by a loop of massless quarks. Implemented in a numerical cod…
We study the double-charged vector-bilepton pair production and double-charged scalar-bilepton pair production {\it via} $p + p \longrightarrow Y^{++} + Y^{--} + X$ and $p + p \longrightarrow S_1^{++} + S_1^{--} + X$, where $Y$ and $S_1$ are vector and scalar bileptons respectively, in the framework of the minimal version of the 3-3-1 model. We compute the photon, $Z$, and $Z^\prime$ s-channel contributions for the elementary process of bilepton scalar pair production, and to keep the correct unitarity behavior for the elementary $q \bar q$ interaction, we include the exotic quark t-channel co…
Novel leptophilic neutral currents can be tested at upcoming neutrino oscillation experiments using two complementary processes, neutrino trident production and neutrino-electron ($ν-e$) elastic scattering. Considering generic anomaly-free $U(1)$ extensions of the Standard Model, we discuss the characteristics of $ν-e$ scattering as well as $e^+e^-$ and $μ^+μ^-$ trident production at the DUNE near detector in the presence of such BSM scenarios. We then determine the sensitivity of DUNE in constraining the well-known $L_e - L_μ$ and $L_μ- L_τ$ models. We conclude that DUNE will be able to probe…
We present a study of neutrino/antineutrino induced charged and neutral current single pion production off the nucleon. For this, we have considered $P_{33}(1232)$ resonance, non-resonant background terms, other higher resonances like $P_{11}(1440)$, $S_{11}(1535)$, $D_{13}(1520)$, $S_{11}(1650)$ and $P_{13}(1720)$. For the non-resonant background terms a microscopic approach based on SU(2) non-linear sigma model has been used. The vector form factors for the resonances are obtained by using the relationship between the electromagnetic resonance form factors and helicity amplitudes provided by…
Dark sector may couple to the Standard Model via one or more mediator particles. We discuss two types of mediators: the dark photon $A^{\prime}$ and the dark scalar mediator $ϕ$. The total cross-sections and various differential distributions of the processes $e^{+} e^{-} \rightarrow q \bar{q} A^{\prime}$ and $e^{+} e^{-} \rightarrow q \bar{q} ϕ$ ($q=u,~d,~c,~s$ and $b$ quarks) are discussed. We focus on the study of the invisible $A^{\prime}$ due to the cleaner background at future $e^{+} e^{-}$ colliders. It is found that the kinematic distributions of the two-jet system could be used to ide…
