There are lots of new physics models which predict an extra neutral gauge boson, referred as Z'-boson. In a certain class of these new physics models, the Z'-boson has flavor-dependent couplings with the fermions in the Standard Model (SM). Based on a simple model in which couplings of the SM fermions in the third generation with the Z'-boson are different from those of the corresponding fermions in the first two generations, we study the signatures of Z'-boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). We show that at the LHC, the Z'-boson with mass around 1 TeV can be produced through the Drell-Yan processes and its dilepton decay modes provide us clean signatures not only for the resonant production of Z'-boson but also for flavor-dependences of the production cross sections. We also study fermion pair productions at the ILC involving the virtual Z'-boson exchange. Even though the center-of-energy of the ILC is much lower than a Z'-boson mass, the angular distributions and the forward-backward asymmetries of fermion pair productions show not only sizable deviations from the SM predictions but also significant flavor-dependences.
Baryon triality (B3) is a Z3 discrete symmetry that can protect the proton from decay. Although its realization does not require supersymmetry, it is particularly appealing in the supersymmetry as an alternative to the popular R-parity. We discuss the issues in gauging B3, and present the minimal supersymmetric model with B3 as the remnant discrete symmetry of a TeV scale U(1) gauge symmetry. A flavor-dependent U(1) charge is necessary to achieve this, and it results in very distinguishable and flavorful predictions for the LHC experiments. We find a complementarity between a 2-lepton sneutrin…
Small neutrino masses and their large mixing angles can be generated at the TeV scale by augmenting the Standard Model with an additional generation dependent, anomaly-free U(1)_{nu} symmetry, in the presence of three right-handed neutrinos. The Z' gauge boson associated with the breaking of the U(1)_{nu} symmetry can be produced at the LHC. The flavorful nature of the Z' can be established by measuring its non-universal couplings to the charged leptons as determined by the lepton's U(1)_{nu} charges, which also govern the neutrino flavor structure. While the LHC has the potential of discoveri…
The suppression of flavor and CP violation in supersymmetric theories may be due to the mechanism responsible for the structure of the Yukawa couplings. We study model independently the compatibility between low energy flavor and CP constraints and observability of superparticles at the LHC, assuming a generic correlation between the Yukawa couplings and the supersymmetry breaking parameters. We find that the superpotential operators that generate scalar trilinear interactions are generically problematic. We discuss several ways in which this tension is naturally avoided. In particular, we foc…
The flavorful $Z^\prime$ model with its couplings restricted to the left-handed second generation leptons and third generation quarks can potentially resolve the observed anomalies in $R_K$ and $R_{K^*}$. After examining the current limits on this model from various low-energy processes, we probe this scenario at 14 TeV high-luminosity run of the LHC using two complementary channels: one governed by the coupling of $Z'$ to $b$-quarks and the other to muons. We also discuss the implications of the latest LHC high mass resonance searches in the dimuon channel on the model parameter space of our …
In this paper we study the phenomenology of color-octet and color-singlet scalars in the flavorful Top-Coloron model. We discuss the relevant production mechanisms at hadron colliders and the dominant decay modes, highlighting the most promising signatures for discovery, and derive bounds on the masses of the new scalars from LHC and Tevatron data. Of particular interest is the case in which color-octet scalars are pair produced and each decay to t cbar or tbar c, leading to a same-sign-dilepton final state. LHC data places a lower limit of 440 GeV on the octet mass in this scenario. The case …
$B$-physics data and flavor symmetries suggest that leptoquarks can have masses as low as few ${\cal{O}}(\mbox{TeV})$, predominantly decay to third generation quarks, and highlight $pp \to b μμ$ signatures from single production and $pp \to b b μμ$ from pair production. Abandoning flavor symmetries could allow for inverted quark hierarchies, and cause sizable $pp \to j μμ$ and $jj μμ$ cross sections, induced by second generation couplings. Final states with leptons other than muons including lepton flavor violation (LFV) ones can also arise. The corresponding couplings can also be probed by pr…
This paper discusses some aspects of the estimates of Higgs boson coupling sensitivities for LHC and ILC presented at the Snowmass 2013 meeting. I estimate the measurement accuracies underlying the CMS presentation to Snowmass. I present new fits for the ILC capabilities. I present some joints fits to prospective LHC and ILC data that demonstrates the synergy of the High-Luminosity LHC and ILC programs. Contributed to the proceedings of the Snowmass 2013 Community Summer Study.
We consider supersymmetric models where anomaly and gravity mediation give comparable contributions to the soft terms and discuss how this can be realized in a five-dimensional brane world. The gaugino mass pattern of anomaly mediation is preserved in such a hybrid setup. The flavorful gravity-mediated contribution cures the tachyonic slepton problem of anomaly mediation. The supersymmetric flavor puzzle is solved by alignment. We explicitly show how a working flavor-tachyon link can be realized with Abelian flavor symmetries and give the characteristic signatures of the framework, including O…
The synergy between the Large Hadron Collider and the International Linear Collider during concurrent running of the two machines has the potential to maximise the physics gain from both facilities. Some examples of detailed case studies of the interplay between the LHC and ILC are given, with a particular emphasis on new results that have been obtained after the first LHC / ILC Study Group report was released.
Weak scale supersymmetry provides elegant solutions to many of the problems of the standard model, but it also generically gives rise to excessive flavor and CP violation. We show that if the mechanism that suppresses the Yukawa couplings also suppresses flavor changing interactions in the supersymmetry breaking parameters, essentially all the low energy flavor and CP constraints can be satisfied. The standard assumption of flavor universality in the supersymmetry breaking sector is not necessary. We study signatures of this framework at the LHC. The mass splitting among different generations …
Intersecting D-brane theories motivate the existence of exotic U(1) gauge bosons that only interact with the Standard Model through kinetic mixing with hypercharge. We analyze an effective field theory description of this effect and describe the implications of these exotic gauge bosons on precision electroweak, LHC and ILC observables.
We study the neutral Higgs boson production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the future $e^- e^+$ linear collider (ILC) in the two Higgs doublet model with CP violation. The CP-even and CP-odd scalars are mixed in this model, which affects the production processes of neutral Higgs boson. We examine the correlation of the Higgs production at LHC and ILC and provide a strategy to distinguish the model from the CP conserving model and to determine the parameters of the Higgs sector.
In this talk I explain in brief the motivations behind undertaking a study of the LHC-ILC interplay. I will give information about the activities of the LHC-LC study group as well as the study group document. I will illustrate the scope of the document by taking a few examples from the document which has appeared on the archives \cite{Group:2004hn} since this talk was presented.
Evidence for electron-muon universality violation that has been revealed in $b\to s \ell\ell$ transitions in the observables $R_{K,K^*}$ by the LHCb Collaboration can be explained with spin-1 leptoquarks in $SU(2)_L$ singlet $V_1$ or triplet $V_3$ representations in the ${\cal{O}}(1-10)$ TeV range. We explore the sensitivity of the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and future proton-proton colliders to $V_1$ and $V_3$ in the parameter space connected to $R_{K,K^*}$-data. We consider pair production and single production in association with muons in different flavor benchmarks. Reinterpreting a rece…
We re-evaluate prospects for supersymmetry at the proposed International Linear $e^+e^-$ Collider (ILC) in light of the first year of serious data taking at LHC with $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and $\sim 5$ fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions (LHC7). Strong new limits from LHC SUSY searches, along with a hint of a Higgs boson signal around $m_h\sim 125$ GeV, suggest a paradigm shift from previously popular models to ones with new and compelling signatures. We present a variety of new ILC benchmark models, including: natural SUSY, hidden SUSY, NUHM2 with low $m_A$, non-universal gaugino mass (NUGM) model, pMSSM,…
I will begin by making a few general comments on the synergy between the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) which will go in action in 2007 and the International Linear Collider (ILC) which is under planning. I will then focus on the synergy between the LHC and the PLC option at the ILC, which is expected to be realised in the later stages of the ILC program. In this I will cover the possible synergy in the Higgs sector (with and without CP violation), in the determination of the anomalous vector boson couplings and last but not the least, in the search for extra dimensions and radions.
The advent of the LHC, and the proposal of building future colliders as the ILC, both programmed to explore new physics at the TeV scale, justifies the recent interest in studying all kind of seesaw mechanisms whose signature lies on such energy scale. The natural candidate for this kind of seesaw mechanism is the inverse one. The conventional inverse seesaw mechanism is implemented in an arrangement involving six new heavy neutrinos in addition to the three standard ones. In this paper we develop the inverse seesaw mechanism based on Higgs triplet model and probe its signature at the LHC and …
We study the effects of unparticle physics in the pair productions of top quarks at the LHC and ILC. By considering vector, tensor and scalar unparticle operators, as appropriate, we compute the total cross sections for pair production processes depending on scale dimension $d_{\U}$. We find that the existence of unparticles would lead to measurable enhancements on the SM predictions at the LHC. In the case of ILC this may become two orders of magnitude larger than that of SM, for smaller values of $d_\U$, a very striking signal for unparticles.
The prospects for the discovery and exploration of low-energy Supersymmetry at future colliders, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the future international linear electron positron collider (ILC) are summarized. The focus is on the experimental techniques that will be used to discover superpartners and to measure their properties. Special attention is given to the question how the results from both machines could influence each other, in particular when they have overlapping running time.
In the Randall-Sundrum model there can be a rich new phenomenology associated with Higgs-radion mixing. A photon-photon collider would provide a crucial complement to the LHC and a future ILC collider for fully determining the parameters of the model and definitively testing it.
In the framework of the left-right twin Higgs model, we study pair production of the neutral Higgs bosons at the International Linear Collider ($ILC$) and the $CERN$ $LHC$. We find that the production cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to ϕ^{0}h$ are at the level of several tens $fb$ at the $ILC$, the production cross section of the $ϕ^{0}ϕ^{0}$ pair and $ϕ^{0}h$ pair are at the level of several hundreds $fb$ at the $LHC$. As long as the neutral Higgs boson $ϕ^{0}$ is not too heavy, we conclude that its pair production might be used to test for the left-right twin Higgs model at the $LHC…
The topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model predicts some light pseudo goldstone bosons (PGBs), which may be accessible at the LHC or ILC. In this work we study the pair productions of the charged or neutral PGBs at the LHC and ILC. For the productions at the LHC we consider the processes proceeding through gluon-gluon fusion and quark-antiquark annihilation, while for the productions at the ILC we consider both the electron-positron collision and the photon-photon collision. We find that in a large part of parameter space the production cross sections at both colliders can be quite large co…
Two next-generation high-energy experiments, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the $e^+e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC), are highly expected to unravel the new structure of matter and forces from the electroweak scale to the TeV scale. In this talk we give a compelling but rather descriptive review of the complementary role of LHC and ILC in drawing a comprehensive and high precision picture of the mechanism breaking the electroweak symmetries and generating mass, the unification of forces and the structure of spacetime. Supersymmetry is exploited in this description as a prototype s…
Future high precision electroweak measurements require understanding of Standard Model expectations to multi-loop accuracy, both, for the predictions of production cross-sections of signal and background, as well as for pseudo-observables. I review recent results from precision calculations and summarize projections and implications for the Tevatron, the LHC, CEBAF, and the ILC.
I discuss the question whether it is possible that the LHC will find no signal for the Higgs particle. It is argued that in this case singlet scalars should be present that could play an important role in astroparticle physics. A critical view at the existing electroweak data shows that this possibility might be favored over the simplest standard model. In this case one needs the ILC in order to study the Higgs sector.
Non-decoupling D-term extensions of the MSSM enhance the tree-level Higgs mass compared to the MSSM, therefore relax fine-tuning and may allow lighter stops with rather low masses even without maximal mixing. We present the anatomy of various non-decoupling D-term extensions of the MSSM and explore the potential of the LHC and of the International Linear Collider (ILC) to determine their deviations in the Higgs couplings with respect to the Standard Model. Depending on the mass of the heavier Higgs $m_H$, such deviations may be constrained at the LHC and determined at the ILC. We evaluate the …
The interplay between the LHC and the $e^+ e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC) with $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV might be crucial for the discrimination between the minimal and next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We present an NMSSM scenario, where the light neutralinos have a significant singlino component, that cannot be distinguished from the MSSM by cross sections and mass measurements. Mass and mixing state predictions for the heavier neutralinos from the ILC analysis at different energy stages and comparison with observation at the LHC, lead to clear identification of the particle …
We show that the interplay between the LHC and the e^+ e^- International Linear Collider (ILC) with sqrt{s}=500 GeV might be crucial for the discrimination between the minimal and next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We present an NMSSM scenario that cannot be distinguished from the MSSM by cross sections and mass measurements if only the light neutralinos and the lightest chargino are kinematically accessible, even if one of the neutralinos has a significant singlino component. Mass predictions for the heavier neutralinos from the ILC analysis and their observation at the LHC lead t…
Combined analyses at the Large Hadron Collider and at the International Linear Collider are important to reveal precisely the new physics model as, for instance, supersymmetry. Examples are presented where ILC results as input for LHC analyses could be crucial for the identification of signals as well as of the underlying model. The synergy of both colliders leads also to rather accurate SUSY parameter determination and powerful mass constraints even if the scalar particles have masses in the multi-TeV range.
I estimate the accuracies on Higgs boson coupling constants that experiments at the Large Hadron Collider and the International Linear Collider are capable of reaching over the long term.
We study a version of Two Higgs Doublet Models with non-standard flavor violation in the up quark sector. We find branching ratios for the rare top decays $t\to hc$ and $t\to hu$ that are within reach of current and future colliders, while other flavor constraints from rare $B$ decays and neutral $D$ meson mixing, as well as constraints from Higgs signal strength measurements remain under control. The most prominent collider signature of the considered setup is $pp \to t H \to tt \bar c$, providing continued motivation to search for same-sign tops at the LHC as well as a simple framework to in…
I will briefly review the status of higher-order calculations for top-quark observables, comment on the need for improvements, discuss some of the recent theoretical advances, and present a few examples to highlight the role of top-quark observables in searches for signals of physics beyond the Standard Model.
We re-evaluate prospects for supersymmetry at the proposed International Linear e^+e^- Collider (ILC) in light of the first two years of serious data taking at LHC: LHC7 with ~5 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt{s}=7 TeV and LHC8 with ~20 fb^{-1} at \sqrt{s}=8 TeV. Strong new limits from LHC8 SUSY searches, along with the discovery of a Higgs boson with m_h~125 GeV, suggest a paradigm shift from previously popular models to ones with new and compelling signatures. After a review of the current status of supersymmetry, we present a variety of new ILC benchmark models, including: natural SUSY, ra…
We analyze the LHC SUSY 1exclusion limits in the cha1-neu2 channel. We take into account the decay neu2 -> neu1 h (based on a full one-loop calculation in the complex MSSM), which has a non-negligible branching ratio. Including this decay strongly reduces the excluded parameter space in the m_neu2-m_neu1 plane. This opens up a large parameter space for electroweak SUSY particles, easily allowing the production of these particles at the ILC.
Coherent analyses of experimental results from LHC and ILC will allow us to draw a comprehensive and precise picture of the supersymmetric particle sector. Based on this platform the fundamental supersymmetric theory can be reconstructed at the high scale which is potentially close to the Planck scale. This procedure will be reviewed for three characteristic examples: minimal supergravity as the paradigm; a left-right symmetric extension incorporating intermediate mass scales; and a specific realization of string effective theories.
We investigate the weak electric and magnetic dipole moments of top quark-Z boson interactions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). Their vanishingly small magnitude in the Standard Model makes these couplings ideal for probing New Physics interactions and for exploring the role of top quarks in electroweak symmetry breaking. In our analysis, we consider the production of two top quarks in association with a Z boson at the LHC, and top quark pairs mediated by neutral gauge bosons at the ILC. These processes yield direct sensitivity to top quark-Z boso…
In order to establish supersymmetry (SUSY) at future colliders, the identity of gauge couplings and the corresponding Yukawa couplings between gauginos, sfermions and fermions needs to be verified. Here a first phenomenological study for determining the Yukawa coupling of the SUSY-QCD sector is presented, using a method which combines information from LHC and ILC.
Simplified models have become a widely used and important tool to cover the more diverse phenomenology beyond constrained SUSY models. However, they come with a substantial number of caveats themselves, and great care needs to be taken when drawing conclusions from limits based on the simplified approach. To illustrate this issue with a concrete example, we examine the applicability of simplified model results to a series of full SUSY model points which all feature a small stau-LSP mass difference, and are compatible with electroweak and flavor precision observables as well as current LHC resu…
In the gauge-Higgs unification scenario the 4D Higgs field is identified with the zero mode of the extra-dimensional component of gauge potentials. The mass of the Higgs particle in the unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime is predicted to be in the range 100 GeV - 300 GeV. The WWZ gauge couplings remains almost universal as in the standard model, but substantial deviation results for the Higgs couplings. The WWH and ZZH couplings are suppressed by a factor \cos θ_H from the values in the standard model, where θ_H is the Yang-Mills AB phase along the fifth dimension. These can be…
We investigate the signatures of the recently proposed Higgsless models at future colliders. We focus on tests of the mechanism of partial unitarity restoration in the longitudinal vector boson scattering, which do not depend on any Higgsless model-building details. We study the LHC discovery reach for charged massive vector boson resonances and show that all of the preferred parameter space will be probed with $100 {\rm fb}^{-1}$ of LHC data. We also discuss the prospects for experimental verification of the Higgsless nature of the model at the LHC. In addition, in this talk we present new re…
With the start-up of the LHC, we can hope to find evidences for new physics beyond the Standard Model, and particle candidates for dark matter. Determining the parameters of the full underlying theory will be a long process requiring the combination of LHC and ILC data, flavor physics constraints, and cosmological observations. However, the Very Early Universe properties, from which the relic particles originate, are poorly known, and the relic density calculation can be easily falsified by hidden processes. We consider supersymmetry and show that determining the underlying particle physics pa…
There is a strong and growing interplay between particle physics and cosmology. In this talk, I discuss some aspects of this interplay concerning dark matter candidates put forth by theories beyond the Standard Model. In explaining the requirements for collider tests of such dark matter candidates, I focus in particular on the case of the lightest neutralino in the MSSM.
Higgs cubic coupling plays a crucial role to probe an origin of electroweak symmetry breaking. It is expected that the cubic coupling is measured by Higgs pair production at the LHC and ILC, and the deviations from the standard model can be extracted from the Higgs pair production process, and those can give us a hint of new physics beyond the standard model. We consider a general potential that achieves the suitable electroweak symmetry breaking. As one of the interesting models, we suggest a non-perturbative Higgs model in which a run-away type of potential is used. In the model, the cross s…
We propose to look for the Odderon through the production of two pion pairs in photon collisions at high energies. We calculate the corresponding matrix elements in kT-factorization and discuss the possibility to reveal the existence of the perturbative Odderon by charge asymmetries, relying on models for the generalized distribution amplitudes of pi+ pi-. The application of this strategy to ultraperipheral collisions at the LHC suffers from the difficulty to trigger on interesting events and is plagued with severe background problems in p-p mode. Electron - positron colliders like ILC seem to…
We discuss the collider signatures of electroweak (1,0)-mode excitations in the framework of two universal extra dimension (2UED) at the LHC and ILC. In general, pair production of electroweak (1,0)-mode particles of 2UED gives rise to multi lepton plus missing transverse momentum signal. Upto 1/R = 400 GeV two lepton plus missing transverse momentum signal and upto 1/R = 600 GeV three lepton plus missing transverse momentum signal stands over the $5σ$ standard deviation of the Standard Model background at the LHC with $100 fb^{-1}$ integrated luminosity. At ILC we study single photon plus mis…
We study CP violation in the two-body decay of a scalar tau into a neutralino and a tau, which should be probed at the LHC and ILC. From the normal tau polarization, a CP asymmetry is defined which is sensitive to the CP phases of the trilinear scalar coupling parameter $A_τ$, the gaugino mass parameter $M_1$, and the higgsino mass parameter $μ$ in the stau-neutralino sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Asymmetries of more than 70% are obtained in scenarios with strong stau mixing. As a result, detectable CP asymmetries in stau decays at the LHC are found, motivating further d…
The interesting but difficult phenomenology of supersymmetric models at the LHC and ILC demands a corresponding complexity and maturity from simulation tools. This includes multi-particle final states, reducible and irreducible backgrounds, spin correlations, real emission of photons and gluons, virtual corrections etc. Most of these topics are included in the multi-particle Monte Carlo (MC) Event generators Madgraph, WHIZARD and Sherpa. A comparison of these codes is shown, with a special focus on the new release of WHIZARD. I show examples for the necessity of considering full matrix element…
We propose a means to discriminate between the two basic variants of Little Higgs models, the Product Group and Simple Group models, at the next generation of colliders. It relies on a special coupling of light pseudoscalar particles present in Little Higgs models, the pseudoaxions, to the Z and the Higgs boson, which is present only in Simple Group models. We discuss the collider phenomenology of the pseudoaxion in the presence of such a coupling at the LHC, where resonant production and decay of either the Higgs or the pseudoaxion induced by that coupling can be observed for much of paramete…
At the LHC and at an ILC, serious studies of new physics benefit from a proper simulation of signals and backgrounds. Using supersymmetric sbottom pair production as an example, we show how multi-particle final states are necessary to properly describe off-shell effects induced by QCD, photon radiation, or by intermediate on-shell states. To ensure the correctness of our findings we compare in detail the implementation of the supersymmetric Lagrangian in MadGraph, Sherpa and Whizard. As a future reference we give the numerical results for several hundred cross sections for the production of su…
The historic LHC discovery of the 125 GeV particle with properties that closely resemble the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson verifies our understanding of electroweak symmetry breaking, but solidifies the need for a resolution to the hierarchy problem. Many extensions of the SM that address the hierarchy problem contain a non-minimal Higgs sector. Therefore, as a benchmark alternative to the SM Higgs mechanism, we study a general 2 Higgs doublet model (2HDM-G) framework for evaluating future sensitivity to Higgs couplings. We study how well it can be distinguished from the SM Higgs boson by fu…
Left-Right twin Higgs(LRTH) model predicts the existence of a pair of charged Higgs $ϕ^{\pm}$. In this paper, we study the production of the charged Higgs bosons pair $ϕ^{\pm}$ via the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to ϕ^{+}ϕ^{-}$ at the International Linear Collider(ILC). The numerical results show that the production rates are at the level of several tens fb, this process can produce the adequate distinct multi-jet final states and the SM background can be efficiently reduced. We also discuss the charged Higgs boson pair production via the process $q\bar{q}\to ϕ^{+}ϕ^{-}$ at the $CERN$ Large Hadron Col…
Assuming that first significant results from LHC become available, this presentation assumes 4 different scenarios and discuss the implications for ILC

In this talk, we discuss the SUSY-Yukawa sum rule, a relation among masses and mixing angles of the third-generation squarks which follows directly from the coupling relation responsible for canceling the quadratic divergence in the Higgs mass. Radiative corrections modify the sum rule, introducing dependence on a variety of SUSY parameters beyond the third-generation squark sector. If some of those parameters are measured experimentally, a sharp prediction for the sum rule is possible. We demonstrate this point with a quantitative study. We also discuss the prospects for measuring the ingredi…
The physics potential of the Large Hadron Collider in combination with the planned International Linear Collider is discussed for a difficult region of supersymmetry that is characterized by scalar SUSY particles with masses around 2 TeV. Precision measurements of masses, cross sections and forward-backward asymmetries allow to determine the fundamental supersymmetric parameters even if only a small part of the spectrum is accessible. No assumptions on a specific SUSY-breaking mechanism are imposed. Mass contraints for the kinematically inaccessible particles can be derived.

Global frequentist fits to the CMSSM and NUHM1 using the MasterCode framework are updated to include the public results of searches for supersymmetric signals using \sim 1/fb of LHC data recorded by ATLAS and CMS and \sim 0.3/fb of data recorded by LHCb. We also include the constraints imposed by the electroweak precision and B-physics observables, the cosmological dark matter density and the XENON100 search for spin-independent dark matter scattering. Finally we also investigate the impact of a possible Higgs signal around 125 GeV. The various constraints set new bounds on the parameter space…
