We construct positive solutions to the equation $$-Δ_{\mathbf{H}^n} u = u^{\frac{Q+2}{Q-2}}$$ on the Heisenberg group, singular in the origin, similar to the Fowler solutions of the Yamabe equations on $\mathbf{R}^n$. These satisfy the homogeneity property $u\circδ_T=T^{-\frac{Q-2}{2}}u$ for some $T$ large enough, where $Q=2n+2$ and $δ_T$ is the natural dilation in $\mathbf{H}^n$. We use the Lyapunov-Schmidt method applied to a family of approximate solutions built by periodization from the global regular solution classified by Jerison and Lee.
In this paper we generalize the instantaneous blowup result from [3] and [15] to the heat equation perturbed by singular potentials on the Heisenberg group.
We prove the existence of a homogeneous singular solution of the critical equation $$-Δu = u^{\frac{Q+2}{Q-2}}$$ on the Heisenberg group $H^n$, where $Q$ is the \textit{homogeneous dimension}. In order to do this, we introduce a suitable concept of normal curvature for hypersurfaces. Furthermore we study the bifurcation of non-homogeneous solutions from the homogeneous one.
The goal of this paper is to establish singular Adams type inequality for biharmonic operator on Heisenberg group. As an application, we establish the existence of a solution to \begin{equation*} Δ_{\mathbb{H}^n}^2 u=\frac{f(ξ,u)}{ρ(ξ)^a}\,\,\text{ in }Ω,\,\, u|_{\partialΩ}=0=\left.\frac{\partial u}{\partial ν}\right|_{\partialΩ}, \end{equation*} where $0\in Ω\subseteq \mathbb{H}^4$ is a smooth bounded domain, $0\leq a<Q,\,(Q=10).$ The special feature of this problem is that it contains an exponential nonlinearity and singular potential.

We investigate certain singular integral operators with Riesz-type kernels on s-dimensional Ahlfors-David regular subsets of Heisenberg groups. We show that $L^2$-boundedness, and even a little less, implies that $s$ must be an integer and the set can be approximated at some arbitrary small scales by homogeneous subgroups. It follows that the operators cannot be bounded on many self similar fractal subsets of Heisenberg groups.
In this paper we study evolutive first order Mean Field Games in the Heisenberg group~$\He^1$; each agent can move only along "horizontal" trajectories which are given in terms of the vector fields generating~$\He^1$ and the kinetic part of the cost depends only on the horizontal velocity. The Hamiltonian is not coercive in the gradient term and the coefficients of the first order term in the continuity equation may have a quadratic growth at infinity. The main results of this paper are two: the former is to establish the existence of a weak solution to the Mean Field Game system while the latt…
In this paper, we study the structure of the singular set for a $C^{1}$ smooth surface in the $3$-dimensional Heisenberg group $\boldsymbol{H}_{1}$. We discover a Codazzi-like equation for the $p$-area element along the characteristic curves on the surface. Information obtained from this ordinary differential equation helps us to analyze the local configuration of the singular set and the characteristic curves. In particular, we can estimate the size and obtain the regularity of the singular set. We understand the global structure of the singular set through a Hopf-type index theorem. We also …
We consider a functional related with phase transition models in the Heisenberg group framework. We prove that level sets of local minimizers satisfy some density estimates, that is, they behave as "codimension one" sets. We thus deduce a uniform convergence property of these level sets to interfaces with minimal area. These results are then applied in the construction of (quasi)periodic, plane-like minimizers, i.e., minimizers of our functional whose level sets are contained in a spacial slab of universal size in a prescribed direction. As a limiting case, we obtain the existence of hypersurf…
We obtain an entire Liouville type theorem to the classical semilinear subcritical elliptic equation on Heisenberg group. A pointwise estimate near the isolated singularity was also proved. The soul of the proofs is an a priori integral estimate, which deduced from a generalized formula of that found by Jerison and Lee.
In this paper we study singular integrals on small (that is, measure zero and lower than full dimensional) subsets of metric groups. The main examples of the groups we have in mind are Euclidean spaces and Heisenberg groups. In addition to obtaining results in a very general setting, the purpose of this work is twofold; we shall extend some results in Euclidean spaces to more general kernels than previously considered, and we shall obtain in Heisenberg groups some applications to harmonic (in the Heisenberg sense) functions of some results known earlier in Euclidean spaces.
The periodic unfolding method is one of the latest tool after multi-scale convergence to study multi-scale problems like homogenization problems. It provides a good understanding of various micro scales involved in the problem which can be conveniently and easily applied to get the asymptotic limit. In this article, we develop {\it the periodic unfolding} for the Heisenberg group which has a non-commutative group structure. In order to do this, the concept of the greatest integer part, fractional part for the Heisenberg group has been introduced corresponding to the periodic cell. Analogous to…
We provide an asymptotic analysis of a non-local Fisher-KPP type equation in periodic media and with a non-local stable operator of order $α$ $\in$ (0, 2). We perform a long time-long range scaling in order to prove that the stable state invades the unstable state with a speed which is exponential in time.
We consider the semiclassical limit for the Heisenberg-von Neumann equation with a potential which consists of the sum of a repulsive Coulomb potential, plus a Lipschitz potential whose gradient belongs to $BV$; this assumption on the potential guarantees the well posedness of the Liouville equation in the space of bounded integrable solutions. We find sufficient conditions on the initial data to ensure that the quantum dynamics converges to the classical one. More precisely, we consider the Husimi functions of the solution of the Heisenberg-von Neumann equation, and under suitable assumptions…

The present work deals with the resolution of the Poisson equation in a bounded domain made of a thin and periodic layer of finite length placed into a homogeneous medium. We provide and justify a high order asymptotic expansion which takes into account the boundary layer effect occurring in the vicinity of the periodic layer as well as the corner singularities appearing in the neighborhood of the extremities of the layer. Our approach combines the method of matched asymptotic expansions and the method of periodic surface homogenization, and a complete justification is included in the paper or…
The analysis of the dependence of integral operators on perturbations plays an important role in the study of inverse problems and of perturbed boundary value problems. In this paper we focus on the mapping properties of the volume potentials with weakly singular periodic kernels. Our main result is to prove that the map which takes a density function and a periodic kernel to a (suitable restriction of the) volume potential is bilinear and continuous with values in a Roumieu class of analytic functions. Such result extends to the periodic case some previous results obtained by the authors for …
We prove the existence of at least one T-periodic solution (T > 0) for differential equations of the form (u'(t)/sqrt{1-u'^2(t)})'=f(u(t))+h(t), in (0,T), where f is a continuous function defined on R that satisfies a strong resonance condition, h is continuous and with zero mean value. Our method uses variational techniques for nonsmooth functionals.
We study the existence of non-trivial, non-negative periodic solutions for systems of singular-degenerate parabolic equations with nonlocal terms and satisfying Dirichlet boundary conditions. The method employed in this paper is based on the Leray-Schauder topological degree theory. However, verifying the conditions under which such a theory applies is more involved due to the presence of the singularity. The system can be regarded as a possible model of the interactions of two biological species sharing the same isolated territory, and our results give conditions that ensure the coexistence o…
This paper is on $Γ$-convergence for degenerate integral functionals related to homogenisation problems in the Heisenberg group. Here both the rescaling and the notion of invariance or periodicity are chosen in a way motivated by the geometry of the Heisenberg group. Without using special geometric features, these functionals would be neither coercive nor periodic, so classic results do not apply. All the results apply to the more general case of Carnot groups.
In \cite{CHMY04}, we studied $p$-mean curvature and the associated $p$-minimal surfaces in the Heisenberg group from the viewpoint of PDE and differential geometry. In this paper, we look into the problem through the variational formulation. We study a generalized $p$-area and associated ($p$-) minimizers in general dimensions. We prove the existence and investigate the uniqueness of minimizers. Since this is reduced to solving a degenerate elliptic equation, we need to consider the effect of the singular set and this requires a careful study. We define the notion of weak solution and prove th…
We prove the existence of a continuous $BV$ minimizer with $C^{0}$ boundary value for the $p$-area (pseudohermitian or horizontal area) in a parabolically convex bounded domain. We extend the domain of the area functional from $BV$ functions to vector-valued measures. Our main purpose is to study the first and second variations of such a generalized area functional including the contribution of the singular part. By giving examples in Riemannian and pseudohermitian geometries, we illustrate several known results in a unified way. We show the contribution of the singular curve in the first and …
For a an arbitrary periodic Borel measure $μ$, we prove order $O(\varepsilon)$ operator-norm resolvent estimates for the solutions to scalar elliptic problems in $L^2({\mathbb R}^d, dμ^\varepsilon)$ with $\varepsilon$-periodic coefficients, $\varepsilon>0.$ Here $μ^\varepsilon$ is the measure obtained by $\varepsilon$-scaling of $μ.$ Our analysis includes both the case of a measure absolutely continuous with respect to the standard Lebesgue measure and the case of "singular" periodic structures (or "multistructures"), when $μ$ is supported by lower-dimensional manifolds.
In this paper, we study spectral properties of a family of quasi-periodic Schrodinger operators on the real line in the adiabatic limit. We assume that the adiabatic iso-energetic curves are extended along the momentum direction. In the energy intervals where this happens, we obtain an asymptotic formula for the Lyapunov exponent, and show that the spectrum is purely singular.
