We generalise the integration by parts formulae obtained in arXiv:1811.00518v5 [math.PR] to Bessel bridges on $[0,1]$ with arbitrary boundary values, as well as Bessel processes with arbitrary initial conditions. This allows us to write, formally, the corresponding dynamics using renormalised local times, thus extending the Bessel SPDEs of arXiv:1811.00518v5 [math.PR] to general Dirichlet boundary conditions. We also prove a dynamical result for the case of dimension $2$, by providing a weak construction of the gradient dynamics corresponding to a $2$-dimensional Bessel bridge.
In this article, we prove integration by parts formulae (IbPFs) for the laws of Bessel bridges from 0 to 0 over the interval [0,1] of dimension smaller than 3. As an application, we construct a weak version of an SPDE having the law of a one-dimensional Bessel bridge (i.e. the law of a reflected Brownian bridge) as reversible measure, the dimension 1 being particularly relevant in view of applications to scaling limits of dynamical critical pinning models. We also exploit the IbPFs to conjecture the structure of the SPDEs associated with Bessel bridges of all dimensions smaller than 3.
We study the problem of existence, uniqueness and regularity of probabilistic solutions of the Cauchy problem for nonlinear stochastic partial differential equations involving operators corresponding to regular (nonsymmetric) Dirichlet forms. In proofs we combine the methods of backward doubly stochastic differential equations with those of probabilistic potential theory and Dirichlet forms.
Starting with a regular symmetric Dirichlet form on a locally compact separable metric space $X$, our paper studies elements of vector analysis, $L_p$-spaces of vector fields and related Sobolev spaces. These tools are then employed to obtain existence and uniqueness results for some quasilinear elliptic PDE and SPDE in variational form on $X$ by standard methods. For many of our results locality is not assumed, but most interesting applications involve local regular Dirichlet forms on fractal spaces such as nested fractals and Sierpinski carpets.

We consider the solution (u,η) of the white-noise driven stochastic partial differential equation with reflection on the space interval [0,1] introduced by Nualart and Pardoux. First, we prove that at any fixed time t>0, the measure η([0,t]\times dθ) is absolutely continuous w.r.t. the Lebesgue measure dθon (0,1). We characterize the density as a family of additive functionals of u, and we interpret it as a renormalized local time at 0 of (u(t,θ))_{t\geq 0}. Finally we study the behaviour of ηat the boundary of [0,1]. The main technical novelty is a projection principle from the Dirichlet spac…
The Dirichlet problem for a class of stochastic partial differential equations is studied in Sobolev spaces. The existence and uniqueness result is proved under certain compatibility conditions that ensure the finiteness of $L^{p}(Ω\times(0,T),W^{2,p}(G))$-norms of solutions. The Hölder continuity of solutions and their derivatives is also obtained by embedding.
In this paper we establish the strong existence, pathwise uniqueness and a comparison theorem to a stochastic partial differential equation driven by Gaussian colored noise with non-Lipschitz drift, Hölder continuous diffusion coefficients and the spatial domain in finite interval, $[0,1]$, and with Dirichlet, Neumann or mixed nonhomogeneous random conditions imposed on the endpoints. The Hölder continuity of the solution both in time and in space variables is also studied.
The purpose of this article is threefold. First, we introduce a new type of boundary condition for the multiplicative-noise stochastic heat equation on the half space. This is essentially a Dirichlet boundary condition but with a nontrivial normalization near the boundary which leads to inhomogeneous transition densities (roughly, those of a Brownian \textit{meander}) within the associated chaos series. Secondly, we prove a new convergence result of the directed-polymer partition function in an octant to the multiplicative stochastic heat equation with this type of boundary condition, which in…
We study spaces of modelled distributions with singular behaviour near the boundary of a domain that, in the context of the theory of regularity structures, allow one to give robust solution theories for singular stochastic PDEs with boundary conditions. The calculus of modelled distributions established in Hairer (Invent. Math. 198, 2014) is extended to this setting. We formulate and solve fixed point problems in these spaces with a class of kernels that is sufficiently large to cover in particular the Dirichlet and Neumann heat kernels. These results are then used to provide solution theorie…
This paper develops some general calculus for GGC and Dirichlet process means functionals. It then proceeds via an investigation of positive Linnik random variables, and more generally random variables derived from compositions of a stable subordinator with GGC subordinators, to establish various distributional equivalences between these models and phenomena connected to local times and occupation times of what are defined as randomly skewed Bessel processes and bridges. This yields a host of interesting identities and explicit density formula for these models. Randomly skewed Bessel processes…
We propose a dynamic mean field model for `systemic risk' in large financial systems, which we derive from a system of interacting diffusions on the positive half-line with an absorbing boundary at the origin. These diffusions represent the distances-to-default of financial institutions and absorption at zero corresponds to default. As a way of modelling correlated exposures and herd behaviour, we consider a common source of noise and a form of mean-reversion in the drift. Moreover, we introduce an endogenous contagion mechanism whereby the default of one institution can cause a drop in the di…
This paper introduces a new $p$-dependent coercivity condition through which $L^p$-moments for solutions can be obtained for a large class of SPDEs in the variational framework. If $p=2$, our condition reduces to the classically coercivity condition, which only yields second moments for the solution. The abstract result is shown to be optimal. Moreover, the results are applied to obtain $L^p$-moments of solutions for several classical SPDEs such as stochastic heat equations with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions, Burgers' equation and the Navier-Stokes equations in two spatial dimensio…
It is known that the moments of the maximum value of a one-dimensional conditional Brownian motion, the three-dimensional Bessel bridge with duration 1 started from the origin, are expressed using the Riemann zeta function. We consider a system of two Bessel bridges, in which noncolliding condition is imposed. We show that the moments of the maximum value is then expressed using the double Dirichlet series, or using the integrals of products of the Jacobi theta functions and its derivatives. Since the present system will be provided as a diffusion scaling limit of a version of vicious walker m…
This article is dedicated to the study of an SPDE of the form $$Lu(t,x)=σ(u(t,x))\dot{Z}(t,x) \quad t>0, x \in \cO$$ with zero initial conditions and Dirichlet boundary conditions, where $σ$ is a Lipschitz function, $L$ is a second-order pseudo-differential operator, $\cO$ is a bounded domain in $\bR^d$, and $\dot{Z}$ is an $α$-stable Lévy noise with $α\in (0,2)$, $α\not=1$ and possibly non-symmetric tails. To give a meaning to the concept of solution, we develop a theory of stochastic integration with respect to $Z$, by generalizing the method of Giné and Marcus (1983) to higher dimensions an…
We consider nonlinear parabolic SPDEs of the form $\partial_t u=Δu + λσ(u)\dot w$ on the interval $(0, L)$, where $\dot w$ denotes space-time white noise, $σ$ is Lipschitz continuous. Under Dirichlet boundary conditions and a linear growth condition on $σ$, we show that the expected $L^2$-energy is of order $\exp[\text{const}\timesλ^4]$ as $λ\rightarrow \infty$. This significantly improves a recent result of Khoshnevisan and Kim. Our method is very different from theirs and it allows us to arrive at the same conclusion for the same equation but with Neumann boundary condition. This improves ov…
