In this paper, we study compact generalized $τ$-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics. In the first part, we explore conditions under which generalized $τ$-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics are harmonic-Einstein and give some characterization results for it. In the second part, we obtain some rigidity results for compact $(τ, ρ)$-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics which are special case of generalized $τ$-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics. In the third part, we shall give two gap theorems for compact $τ$-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics by showing some necessary and sufficient conditions for the metrics to be harmonic-Einstein.
In this paper, we prove some rigidity results for both shrinking and expanding Ricci solitons. First, we prove that compact shrinking Ricci solitons are Einstein if we control the maximum value of the potential function. Then, we prove some rigidity results for non-compact gradient expanding and shrinking Ricci solitons with pinched Ricci and scalar curvatures, assuming an asymptotic condition on the scalar curvature at infinity.
We define a gradient Ricci soliton to be rigid if it is a flat bundle $% N\times_Γ\mathbb{R}^{k}$ where $N$ is Einstein. It is known that not all gradient solitons are rigid. Here we offer several natural conditions on the curvature that characterize rigid gradient solitons. Other related results on rigidity of Ricci solitons are also explained in the last section.
We prove some boundary rigidity results for the hemisphere under a lower bound for Ricci curvature. The main result can be viewed as the Ricci version of a conjecture of Min-Oo.
Gradient steady Ricci solitons are natural generalizations of Ricci-flat manifolds. In this article, we prove a curvature gap theorem for gradient steady Ricci solitons with nonconstant potential functions; and a curvature gap theorem for Ricci-flat manifolds, removing the volume growth assumptions in known results.
In this paper, we prove that the round cylinders are rigid in the space of Ricci shrinkers. Namely, any Ricci shrinker that is sufficiently close to $S^{n-1}\times \mathbb R$ in the pointed-Gromov-Hausdorff topology must itself be isometric to $S^{n-1}\times \mathbb R$.
In this paper we introduce the notion of rigidity for harmonic-Ricci solitons and we provide some characterizations of rigidity, generalizing some known results for Ricci solitons. In the compact case we are able to deal with not necessarily gradient solitons while, in the complete non-compact case, we restrict our attention to steady and shrinking gradient solitons. We show that the rigidity can be traced back to the vanishing of certain modified curvature tensors that take into account the geometry a Riemannian manifold equipped with a smooth map $φ$, called $φ$-curvatures, which are a natur…
We prove that an $n$-dimensional, $n\geq4$, compact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton satisfying a $L^{\frac n2}$-pinching condition is isometric to a quotient of the round $\mathbb{S}^n$, which improves the rigidity theorem given by G. Catino (arXiv:1509.07416vl).
In this article we prove a reverse Hölder inequality for the fundamental eigenfunction of the Dirichlet problem on domains of a compact Riemannian manifold with lower Ricci curvature bounds. We also prove an isoperimetric inequality for the torsional ridigity of such domains.
In this paper, we prove that complete gradient steady Kähler-Ricci solitons with harmonic Bochner tensor are necessarily Kähler-Ricci flat, i.e., Calabi-Yau, and that complete gradient shrinking (or expanding) Kähler-Ricci solitons with harmonic Bochner tensor must be isometric to a quotient of $N^k\times \mathbb{C}^{n-k}$, where $N$ is a Kähler-Einstein manifold with positive (or negative) scalar curvature.
We show that $S^2\times S^2$ is isolated as a shrinking Ricci soliton in the space of metrics, up to scaling and diffeomorphism. We also prove the same rigidity for $S^2\times N$, where $N$ belongs to a certain class of closed Einstein manifolds. These results are the Ricci flow analogues of our results for Clifford-type shrinking solitons for the mean curvature flow.
In this paper, the author discusses the eigenvalues and entropies under the harmonic-Ricci flow, which is the Ricci flow coupled with the harmonic map flow. We give an alternative proof of results for compact steady and expanding harmonic-Ricci breathers. In the second part, we derive some monotonicity formulas for eigenvalues of Laplacian under the harmonic-Ricci flow. Finally, we obtain the first variation of the shrinker and expanding entropies of the harmonic-Ricci flow.
The concept of the Ricci soliton was introduced by Hamilton. Ricci soliton is defined by vector field and it's a natural generalization of Einstein metric. We have shown earlier that the vector field of Ricci soliton is an infinitesimal harmonic transformation. In our paper, we survey Ricci solitons geometry as an application of the theory of infinitesimal harmonic transformations.
This paper studies gradient almost Ricci-harmonic soliton with respect to a fixed metric. We rely on analytic techniques to estabilish some basic elliptic and integral equations for the structure of almost Ricci-harmonic soliton which generalizes that of Ricci-hamonic solitons on one hand and that of almost Ricci soliton on the other hand. The consequences of these formulas in relation to classification and rigidity results for gradient almost Ricci-harmonic solitons are also discussed.
The paper is devoted to the study of the global geometries of harmonic mappings and infinitesimal harmonic transformations and presents their applications to the theory of Ricci solitons.
In this work we study properties of stability and non-stability of harmonic maps under the homogeneous Ricci flow. We provide examples where the stability (non-stability) is preserved under the Ricci flow and an example where the Ricci flow does not preserve the stability of an harmonic map.
We prove that if the Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded under the Ricci-Harmonic flow for all times $t$ \in[0, T), then the curvature tensor has to be uniformly bounded as well.
In the present paper, by using estimates for the generalized Ricci curvature, we shall give some gap theorems for Ricci-harmonic solitons showing some necessary and sufficient conditions for the solitons to be harmonic-Einstein. Our results may be regarded as a generalization of recent works by H. Li, and M. Fernandez-Lopez and E. Garcia-Rio.
In this short note we prove that a Kahler manifold with lower Ricci curvature bound and almost maximal volume is Gromov-Hausdorff close to the projective space with the Fubini-Study metric. This is done by combining the recent results of Kewei Zhang and Yuchen Liu on holomorphic rigidity of such Kahler manifolds with the structure theorem of Tian-Wang for almost Einstein manifolds. This can be regarded as the complex analog of the result on Colding on the shape of Riemannian manifolds with almost maximal volume
We show that any left invariant metric with harmonic curvature on a solvable Lie group is Ricci-parallel. We show the same result for any Lie group of dimension $\leq$ 6.
In 2011 Enders, Müller and Topping showed that any blow up sequence of a Type I Ricci flow near a singular point converges to a non-trivial gradient Ricci soliton, leading them to conclude that for such flows all reasonable definitions of singular points agree with each other. We prove the analogous result for the harmonic Ricci flow, generalizing in particular results of Guo, Huang and Phong and Shi. In order to obtain our result, we develop refined compactness theorems, a new pseudolocality theorem, and a notion of reduced length and volume based at the singular time for the harmonic Ricci f…
On a closed connected oriented manifold $M$ we study the space $\mathcal{M}_\|(M)$ of all Riemannian metrics which admit a non-zero parallel spinor on the universal covering. Such metrics are Ricci-flat, and all known Ricci-flat metrics are of this form. We show the following: The space $\mathcal{M}_\|(M)$ is a smooth submanifold of the space of all metrics, and its premoduli space is a smooth finite-dimensional manifold. The holonomy group is locally constant on $\mathcal{M}_\|(M)$. If $M$ is spin, then the dimension of the space of parallel spinors is a locally constant function on $\mathcal…
In this paper, we study monotonicity for the first eigenvalue of a class of $(p,q)$-Laplacian. We find the first variation formula for the first eigenvalue of $(p,q)$-Laplacian on a closed Riemannian manifold evolving by the Ricci-harmonic flow and construct various monotic quantities by imposing some conditions on initial manifold.
In this paper, we shall give a lower diameter bound for compact domain manifolds of shrinking Ricci-harmonic solitons. Our result may be regarded as a generalization to Ricci-harmonic geometry of the recent works by Fernández-López and García-Río (Q. J. Math. 61, 319--327, 2010), Futaki and Sano (Asian J. Math. 17, 17--32, 2013), and Futaki \textit{et al} (Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 44, 105--114, 2013).
In this paper we prove that on a complete smooth metric measure space with non-negative Bakry-Émery-Ricci curvature if the space of weighted L^2 harmonic one-forms is non-trivial then the weighted volume of the manifold is finite and universal cover of the manifold splits isometrically as the product of the real line with an hypersurface.
In this article we prove a differentiable rigidity result. Let $(Y, g)$ and $(X, g_0)$ be two closed $n$-dimensional Riemannian manifolds ($n\geqslant 3$) and $f:Y\to X$ be a continuous map of degree $1$. We furthermore assume that the metric $g_0$ is real hyperbolic and denote by $d$ the diameter of $(X,g_0)$. We show that there exists a number $\varepsilon:=\varepsilon (n, d)>0$ such that if the Ricci curvature of the metric $g$ is bounded below by $-n(n-1)$ and its volume satisfies $\vol_g (Y)\leqslant (1+\varepsilon) \vol_{g_0} (X)$ then the manifolds are diffeomorphic. The proof relies on…
In this paper we study gradient Ricci-Harmonic soliton with structure of warped product manifold. We obtain some triviality results for the potential function, warping function and the harmonic map which reaches maximum or minimum. In order to obtain nontrivial examples of warped product gradient Ricci-harmonic soliton, we consider the base and fiber conformal to a semi-Euclidean space which is invariant under the action of a translation group of co-dimension one. This approach provide infinitely many geodesically complete examples in the semi-Riemannian context, which is not contemplated in t…
Lower bounds on Ricci curvature limit the volumes of sets and the existence of harmonic functions on Riemannian manifolds. In 1975, Shing Tung Yau proved that a complete noncompact manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature has no nonconstant harmonic functions of sublinear growth. In the same paper, Yau used this result to prove that a complete noncompact manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature has at least linear volume growth. In this paper, we prove the following theorem concerning harmonic functions on these manifolds. Theorem: Let M be a complete noncompact manifold with nonnegative Ric…
In this paper, we first derive a Sobolev inequality along the harmonic-Ricci flow. We then prove a linear parabolic estimate based on the Sobolev inequality and Moser's iteration. As an application, we will obtain an upper bound estimate for the heat kernel under the flow.
The present paper is devoted to the study a global aspect of the geometry of harmonic mappings and, in particular, infinitesimal harmonic transformations, and represents the application of our results to the theory of Ricci solutions and the Ricci flow. These results will be obtained using the methods of Geometric analysis and, in particular, due to theorems of Yau, Li and Schoen on the connections between the geometry of a complete smooth manifold and the global behavior of its subharmonic functions.
We explore the harmonic-Ricci flow---that is, Ricci flow coupled with harmonic map flow---both as it arises naturally in certain principal bundle constructions related to Ricci flow and as a geometric flow in its own right. We demonstrate that one natural geometric context for the flow is a special case of the locally $\mathbb{R}^N$-invariant Ricci flow of Lott, and provide examples of gradient solitons for the flow. We prove a version of Hamilton's compactness theorem for the flow, and then generalize it to the category of étale Riemannian groupoids. Finally, we provide a detailed example of …
On a compact Riemannian manifold with boundary, we study how Ricci curvature of the interior affects the geometry of the boundary. First we establish integral inequalities for functions defined solely on the boundary and apply them to obtain geometric inequalities involving the total mean curvature. Then we discuss related rigidity questions and prove Ricci curvature rigidity results for manifolds with boundary.
In this paper we give an explicit bound of $Δ_{g(t)}u(t)$ and the local curvature estimates for the Ricci-harmonic flow under the condition that the Ricci curvature is bounded along the flow. In the second part these local curvature estimates are extended to a class of generalized Ricci flow, introduced by the author \cite{LY1}, whose stable points give Ricci-flat metrics on a complete manifold, and which is very close to the $(K, N)$-super Ricci flow recently defined by Xiangdong Li and Songzi Li \cite{LL2014}. Next we propose a conjecture for Einstein's scalar field equations motivated by a …
The paper establishes a series of gradient estimates for positive solutions to the heat equation on a manifold $M$ evolving under the Ricci flow, coupled with the harmonic map flow between $M$ and a second manifold $N$. We prove Li-Yau type Harnack inequalities and we consider the cases when $M$ is a complete manifold without boundary and when $M$ is compact, without boundary.
We study the soliton flow on the domain of a twistorial harmonic morphism between Riemannian manifolds of dimensions four and three. Assuming real-analyticity, we prove that, for the Gibbons-Hawking construction, any soliton flow is uniquely determined by its restriction to any local section of the corresponding harmonic morphism. For the Beltrami fields construction, we identify a contour integral whose vanishing characterises the trivial soliton flows.
The paper considers the Ricci flow, coupled with the harmonic map flow between two manifolds. We derive estimates for the fundamental solution of the corresponding conjugate heat equation and we prove an analog of Perelman's differential Harnack inequality. As an application, we find a connection between the entropy functional and the best constant in the Sobolev imbedding theorem in $\mathbb{R}^n$.
We estimate the heat kernel on a closed Riemannian manifold $M$, with $dim(M)\geq 3$, evolving under the Ricci-harmonic map flow and the result depends on some constants arising from a Sobolev imbedding theorem. In a special case, when the scalar curvature satisfies a certain natural inequality, we obtain, as a corollary, a bound similar to the one known for the fixed metric case.
In this paper we consider the local $L^p$ estimate of Riemannian curvature for the Ricci-harmonic flow or List's flow introduced by List \cite{List2005} on complete noncompact manifolds. As an application, under the assumption that the flow exists on a finite time interval $[0,T)$ and the Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded, we prove that the $L^p$ norm of Riemannian curvature is bounded, and then, applying the De Giorgi-Nash-Moser iteration method, obtain the local boundedness of Riemannian curvature and consequently the flow can be continuously extended past $T$.
In this paper we consider harmonic functions on gradient shrinking Ricci solitons with constant scalar curvature. A Liouville theorem is proved without using gradient estimate : any bounded harmonic function is constant on gradient shrinking Ricci solitons with constant scalar curvature. As an application, we show that the space of harmonic functions with polynomial growth has finite dimension.
We prove that a four-dimensional gradient shrinking Ricci soliton with $δW^{\pm}=0$ is either Einstein, or a finite quotient of $S^3\times\mathbb{R}$, $S^2\times\mathbb{R}^2$ or $\mathbb{R}^4$. We also prove that a four-dimensional cscK gradient Ricci soliton is either Kähler-Einstein, or a finite quotient of $M\times\mathbb{C}$, where $M$ is a Riemann surface. The main arguments are curvature decompositions, the Weitzenböck formula for half Weyl curvature, and the maximum principle.
We study harmonic map heat flow along ancient super Ricci flow, and derive several Liouville theorems with controlled growth from Perelman's reduced geometric viewpoint. For non-positively curved target spaces, our growth condition is sharp. For positively curved target spaces, our Liouville theorem is new even in the static case (i.e., for harmonic maps); moreover, we point out that the growth condition can be improved, and almost sharp in the static case. This fills the gap between the Liouville theorem of Choi and the example constructed by Schoen-Uhlenbeck.
The behavior of harmonic functions on Riemannian manifolds under lower bounds of the Ricci curvature has been studied from both analytic and geometric viewpoints. For example, some Liouville type theorems are obtained under lower bounds of the Ricci curvature. Recently, those results are generalized under lower bounds of the $N$-weighted Ricci curvature $\mbox{Ric}_ψ^N$ with $N \in [n,\infty]$. In this paper, we present a Liouville type theorem for harmonic functions of sublinear growth and a gradient estimate of harmonic functions on weighted Riemannian manifolds under weaker lower bounds of …
