In this paper we construct an affine model of a Riemann surface with a flat Riemannian metric associated to a Schwarz-Christoffel mapping of the upper half plane onto a rational triangle. We explain the relation between the geodesics on this Riemann surface and billiard motions in a regular stellated $n$-gon in the complex plane.

We extend previous work on Schwarz-Chrsitoffel mappings, including the special cases when the image is a convex polygon or its complement. We center our analysis on the relationship between the pre-Schwrazian of such mappings and Blaschke products. Consider the straightening phi of a Beltrami form that is constant on a square, with the corresponding ellipses having a vertical major axis, and null outside. A generalized Schwarz-Christoffel formula is used to express the inverse of phi. The formula is found by introducing an affine Riemann surface. This formula is used to draw on a computer the image of the square by phi, and practical aspects are discussed. We prove a version of the Schwarz lemma for holomorphic mappings from the unit disk into the symmetric product of a Riemann surface. Our proof is function-theoretic and self-contained. For a nonconstant holomorphic map between projective Riemann surfaces with conformal metrics, we consider invariant Schwarzian derivatives and projective Schwarzian derivatives of general virtual order. We show that these two quantities are related by the "Schwarzian derivative" of the metrics of the surfaces (at least for the case of virtual orders 2 and 3). As an application, we give univalence criteria for a meromorphic function on the unit disk in terms of the projective Schwarzian derivative of virtual order 3.
