Exponential growth of the web increased the importance of web document classification and data mining. To get the exact information, in the form of knowing what classes a web document belongs to, is expensive. Automatic classification of web document is of great use to search engines which provides this information at a low cost. In this paper, we propose an approach for classifying the web document using the frequent item word sets generated by the Frequent Pattern (FP) Growth which is an association analysis technique of data mining. These set of associated words act as feature set. The fina…
Web usage mining: automatic discovery of patterns in clickstreams and associated data collected or generated as a result of user interactions with one or more Web sites. This paper describes web usage mining for our college log files to analyze the behavioral patterns and profiles of users interacting with a Web site. The discovered patterns are represented as clusters that are frequently accessed by groups of visitors with common interests. In this paper, the visitors and hits were forecasted to predict the further access statistics.
With the World Wide Web's ubiquity increase and the rapid development of various online businesses, the complexity of web sites grow. The analysis of web user's navigational pattern within a web site can provide useful information for server performance enhancements, restructuring a website and direct marketing in e-commerce etc. In this paper, an algorithm is proposed for mining such navigation patterns. The key insight is that users access information of interest and follow a certain path while navigating a web site. If they don't find it, they would backtrack and choose among the alternate …
The continuously increasing cost of the US healthcare system has received significant attention. Central to the ideas aimed at curbing this trend is the use of technology, in the form of the mandate to implement electronic health records (EHRs). EHRs consist of patient information such as demographics, medications, laboratory test results, diagnosis codes and procedures. Mining EHRs could lead to improvement in patient health management as EHRs contain detailed information related to disease prognosis for large patient populations. In this manuscript, we provide a structured and comprehensive …
The web page usage mining plays a vital role in enriching the page's content and structure based on the feedbacks received from the user's interactions with the page. There is an explosive growth of information in the World Wide Web thus posing a challenge to Web users to extract essential knowledge from the Web. Search engines help us to narrow down the search in the form of Search Engine Result Pages (SERP). Web Content Mining is one of the techniques that help users to extract useful information from these SERPs. In this paper, we propose two similarity based mechanisms; WDES, to extract desired SERPs and store them in the local depository for offline browsing and WDICS, to integrate the requested contents and enable the user to perform the intended anal…
Looking into the growth of information in the web it is a very tedious process of getting the exact information the user is looking for. Many search engines generate user profile related data listing. This paper involves one such process where the rating is given to the link that the user is clicking on. Rather than avoiding the uninterested links both interested links and the uninterested links are listed. But sorted according to the weightings given to each link by the number of visit made by the particular user and the amount of time spent on the particular link.

Important data are locked in ancient literature. It would be uneconomic to produce these data again and today or to extract them without the help of text mining technologies. Vespa is a text mining project whose aim is to extract data on pest and crops interactions, to model and predict attacks on crops, and to reduce the use of pesticides. A few attempts proposed an agricultural information access. Another originality of our work is to parse documents with a dependency of the document architecture.
The increasing demand of world wide web raises the need of predicting the user's web page request. The most widely used approach to predict the web pages is the pattern discovery process of Web usage mining. This process involves inevitability of many techniques like Markov model, association rules and clustering. Fuzzy theory with different techniques has been introduced for the better results. Our focus is on Markov models. This paper is introducing the vague Rules with Markov models for more accuracy using the vague set theory.

Training and refreshing a web-scale Question Answering (QA) system for a multi-lingual commercial search engine often requires a huge amount of training examples. One principled idea is to mine implicit relevance feedback from user behavior recorded in search engine logs. All previous works on mining implicit relevance feedback target at relevance of web documents rather than passages. Due to several unique characteristics of QA tasks, the existing user behavior models for web documents cannot be applied to infer passage relevance. In this paper, we make the first study to explore the correlat…

Markov models have been widely utilized for modelling user web navigation behaviour. In this work we propose a dynamic clustering-based method to increase a Markov model's accuracy in representing a collection of user web navigation sessions. The method makes use of the state cloning concept to duplicate states in a way that separates in-links whose corresponding second-order probabilities diverge. In addition, the new method incorporates a clustering technique which determines an effcient way to assign in-links with similar second-order probabilities to the same clone. We report on experiment…

Keyphrases are useful for a variety of purposes, including summarizing, indexing, labeling, categorizing, clustering, highlighting, browsing, and searching. The task of automatic keyphrase extraction is to select keyphrases from within the text of a given document. Automatic keyphrase extraction makes it feasible to generate keyphrases for the huge number of documents that do not have manually assigned keyphrases. A limitation of previous keyphrase extraction algorithms is that the selected keyphrases are occasionally incoherent. That is, the majority of the output keyphrases may fit together …
One of the main problems that emerges in the classic approach to semantics is the difficulty in acquisition and maintenance of ontologies and semantic annotations. On the other hand, the Internet explosion and the massive diffusion of mobile smart devices lead to the creation of a worldwide system, which information is daily checked and fueled by the contribution of millions of users who interacts in a collaborative way. Search engines, continually exploring the Web, are a natural source of information on which to base a modern approach to semantic annotation. A promising idea is that it is po…
Mental health disorders may cause severe consequences on all the countries' economies and health. Self-organizing complex systems typically are comprised of a large number of frequently similar components or events. Through their process, a pattern at the global-level of a system emerges solely from numerous interactions among the lower-level components of the system. Moreover, the rules specifying interactions among the system's components are executed using only local information, without reference to the global pattern, which, as in many real-world problems is not easily accessible or possible to be found. Stigmergy, a kind of indirect communication and learning by the environment found…
In many review classification applications, a fine-grained analysis of the reviews is desirable, because different segments (e.g., sentences) of a review may focus on different aspects of the entity in question. However, training supervised models for segment-level classification requires segment labels, which may be more difficult or expensive to obtain than review labels. In this paper, we employ Multiple Instance Learning (MIL) and use only weak supervision in the form of a single label per review. First, we show that when inappropriate MIL aggregation functions are used, then MIL-based net…
