We prove existence and uniqueness of the invariant measure and exponential mixing in the total-variation norm for a class of stochastic differential equations driven by degenerate compound Poisson processes. In addition to mild assumptions on the distribution of the jumps for the driving process, the hypotheses for our main result are that the corresponding control system is dissipative, approximately controllable and solidly controllable. The solid controllability assumption is weaker than the well-known parabolic Hörmander condition and is only required from a single point to which the system is approximately controllable. Our analysis applies to Galerkin projections of stochastically forced parabolic partial differential equations with asymptotically polynomial nonlinearities and to networks of quasi-harmonic oscillators connected to different Poissonian baths.
We establish a large deviation principle for a reflected Poisson driven SDE. Our motivation is to study in a forthcoming paper the problem of exit of such a process from the basin of attraction of a locally stable equilibrium associated with its law of large numbers. Two examples are described in which we verify the assumptions that we make to establish the large deviation principle.
We consider a general class of epidemic models obtained by applying a random time change to a collection of Poisson processes and we show the large deviation principle for such models. We generalize to a more general situation the approach followed by Dolgoaschinnykh [3] in the case of the SIR epidemic model. Thanks to an assumption which is satisfied in many examples, we simplify the recent work by P. Kratz and E. Pardoux [8].
In this paper we deal with pointwise approximation of solutions of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by infinite dimensional Wiener process with additional jumps generated by Poisson random measure. The further investigations contain upper error bounds for the proposed truncated dimension randomized Euler scheme. We also establish matching (up to constants) upper and lower bounds for $\varepsilon$-complexity and show that the defined algorithm is optimal in the Information-Based Complexity (IBC) sense. Finally, results of numerical experiments performed by using GPU architecture …
By using the $Φ$-entropy inequality derived in \cite{Wu, Ch} for Poisson measures, the same type of inequality is established for a class of stochastic differential equations driven by purely jump Lévy processes. The semigroup $Φ$-entropy inequality for SDEs driven by Poisson point processes as well as a sharp result on the existence of invariant probability measures are also presented.
We describe an Euler scheme to approximate solutions of Lévy driven Stochastic Differential Equations (SDE) where the grid points are random and given by the arrival times of a Poisson process. This result extends a previous work of the authors in Ferreiro-Castilla et al. (2012). We provide a complete numerical analysis of the algorithm to approximate the terminal value of the SDE and proof that the approximation converges in mean square error with rate $\mathcal{O}(n^{-1/2})$. The only requirement of the methodology is to have exact samples from the resolvent of the Lévy process driving the S…
We are concerned with homogenization of stochastic differential equations (SDE) with stationary coefficients driven by Poisson random measures and Brownian motions in the critical case, that is when the limiting equation admits both a Brownian part as well as a pure jump part. We state an annealed convergence theorem. This problem is deeply connected with homogenization of integral partial differential equations
Time change is a powerful technique for generating noises and providing flexible models. In the framework of time changed Brownian and Poisson random measures we study the existence and uniqueness of a solution to a general mean-field stochastic differential equation. We consider a mean-field stochastic control problem for mean-field controlled dynamics and we present a necessary and a sufficient maximum principle. For this we study existence and uniqueness of solutions to mean-field backward stochastic differential equations in the context of time change. An example of a centralised control i…
Using Zvonkin's transform and the Poisson equation in $R^d$ with a parameter, we prove the averaging principle for stochastic differential equations with time-dependent Hölder continuous coefficients. Sharp convergence rates with order $(α\wedge1)/2$ in the strong sense and $(α/2)\wedge1$ in the weak sense are obtained, considerably extending the existing results in the literature. Moreover, we prove that the convergence of the multi-scale system to the effective equation depends only on the regularity of the coefficients of the equation for the slow variable, and does not depend on the regula…
Using the Bismut's approach to Malliavin calculus, we introduce a simplified Malliavin matrix ([11]) for stochastic differential equations (SDEs) force by degenerate stable like noises. For the degenerate SDEs driven by Wiener noises, one can derive a Norris type lemma and use it \emph{iteratively} to prove the smoothness of density functions. Unfortunately, Norris type lemma is very hard to be iteratively applied to SDEs with stable like noises. In this paper, we derive a simple inequality as a replacement and use it to show that two families of degenerate SDEs with stable like noises admit s…
In the paper, we consider the no-explosion condition and pathwise uniqueness for SDEs driven by a Poisson random measure with coefficients that are super-linear and non-Lipschitz. We give a comparison theorem in the one-dimensional case under some additional condition. Moreover, we study the non-contact property and the continuity with respect to the space variable of the stochastic flow. As an application, we will show that there exists a unique strong solution for SDEs with coefficients like $x\log|x|$.
In the first part of this paper we give a solution for the one-dimensional reflected backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE for short) when the noise is driven by a Brownian motion and an independent Poisson point process. The reflecting process is right continuous with left limits (rcll for short) whose jumps are arbitrary. We first prove existence and uniqueness of the solution for a specific coefficient in using a method based on a combination of penalization and the Snell envelope theory. To show the result in the general framework we use a fixed point argument in an appropriate s…
We consider differential equations driven by rough paths and study the regularity of the laws and their long time behavior. In particular, we focus on the case when the driving noise is a rough path valued fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in(\frac{1}{3},\frac{1}{2}]$. Our contribution in this work is twofold. First, when the driving vector fields satisfy Hörmander's celebrated "Lie bracket condition," we derive explicit quantitative bounds on the inverse of the Malliavin matrix. En route to this, we provide a novel "deterministic" version of Norris's lemma for differential eq…
In this paper we establish the local and global well-posedness of weak and strong solutions to second order fractional mean-field SDEs with singular/distribution interaction kernels and measure initial value, where the kernel can be Newton or Coulomb potential, Riesz potential, Biot-Savart law, etc. Moreover, we also show the stability, smoothness and the short time singularity and large time decay estimates of the distribution density. Our results reveal a phenomenon that for {\it nonlinear} mean-field equations, the regularity of the initial distribution could balance the singularity of the …
Optimizing over the stationary distribution of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) is computationally challenging. A new forward propagation algorithm has been recently proposed for the online optimization of SDEs. The algorithm solves an SDE, derived using forward differentiation, which provides a stochastic estimate for the gradient. The algorithm continuously updates the SDE model's parameters and the gradient estimate simultaneously. This paper studies the convergence of the forward propagation algorithm for nonlinear dissipative SDEs. We leverage the ergodicity of this class of nonli…
This paper first establishes a fundamental mean-square convergence theorem for general one-step numerical approximations of Lévy noise driven stochastic differential equations with non-globally Lipschitz coefficients. Then two novel explicit schemes are designed and their convergence rates are exactly identified via the fundamental theorem. Different from existing works, we do not impose a globally Lipschitz condition on the jump coefficient but formulate appropriate assumptions to allow for its super-linear growth. However, we require that the Lévy measure is finite. New arguments are develop…
In this paper we consider a mean-field backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE) driven by a Brownian motion and an independent Poisson random measure. Translating the splitting method introduced by Buckdahn, Li, Peng and Rainer [6] to BSDEs, the existence and the uniqueness of the solution $(Y^{t,ξ}, Z^{t,ξ}, H^{t,ξ})$, $(Y^{t,x,P_ξ}, Z^{t,x,P_ξ}, H^{t,x,P_ξ})$ of the split equations are proved. The first and the second order derivatives of the process $(Y^{t,x,P_ξ}, Z^{t,x,P_ξ}, H^{t,x,P_ξ})$ with respect to $x$, the derivative of the process $(Y^{t,x,P_ξ}, Z^{t,x,P_ξ}, H^{t,x,P_ξ})$ …
We study the approximation of the ergodic measure of the following stochastic differential equation (SDE) on $\mathbb{R}^d$: \begin{eqnarray}\label{e:SDEE} d X_t &=& (b_1(X_t)+b_2(X_t)) d t+σ(X_t) d W_t, \end{eqnarray} where $W_t$ is a $d$-dimensional standard Brownian motion, and $b_1: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^d$, $b_2: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^d$ and $σ: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^{d\times d}$ are the functions to be specified in Assumption 2.1 below. In particular, $b_1$ satisfies $b_1\in \mathbb{L}^\infty(\mathbb{R}^d)\cap \mathbb{L}^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$ or $b_1 \in \mathcal…
We study some SDEs derived from the $q\to 1$ limit of a 2D surface growth model called the $q$-Whittaker process. The fluctuations are proven to exhibit Gaussian characteristics that "come down from infinity": After rescaling and re-centering, convergence to the time-inverted stationary additive stochastic heat equation holds. The point of view in this paper is a probabilistic representation of the SDEs by independent sums. By this connection, the normal and Poisson approximations and the in-between slow decorrelation, all in particular integrated forms, explain the convergence of the re-cente…
Poisson Equations with locally-Lipschitz coefficients and Uniform in Time Averaging for Stochastic Differential Equations via Strong Exponential Stability
It is well understood that a supercritical continuous-state branching process (CSBP) is equal in law to a discrete continuous-time Galton Watson process (the skeleton of prolific individuals) whose edges are dressed in a Poissonian way with immigration which initiates subcritial CSBPs (non-prolific mass). Equally well understood in the setting of CSBPs and super-processes is the notion of a spine or immortal particle dressed in a Poissonian way with immigration which initiates copies of the original CSBP, which emerges when conditioning the process to survive eternally. In this article, we rev…
We use Yosida approximation to find an Itô formula for mild solutions $\left\{X^x(t), t\geq 0\right\}$ of SPDEs with Gaussian and non-Gaussian coloured noise, the non Gaussian noise being defined through compensated Poisson random measure associated to a Lévy process. The functions to which we apply such Itô formula are in $C^{1,2}([0,T]\times H)$, as in the case considered for SDEs in [9]. Using this Itô formula we prove exponential stability and exponential ultimate boundedness properties in mean square sense for mild solutions. We also compare such Itô formula to an Itô formula for mild sol…
We study the convergence of $N-$particle systems described by SDEs driven by Brownian motion and Poisson random measure, where the coefficients depend on the empirical measure of the system. Every particle jumps with a jump rate depending on its position and on the empirical measure of the system. Jumps are simultaneous, that is, at each jump time, all particles of the system are affected by this jump and receive a random jump height that is centred and scaled in $N^{-1/2}.$ This particular scaling implies that the limit of the empirical measures of the system is random, describing the conditi…
