We suggest the inclusive detection at the LHC of a light charged hadron and of a jet widely separated in rapidity as a new probe channel for the study of the BFKL resummation. Predictions for cross section and azimuthal correlations, shaped on the CMS and CASTOR acceptances, are presented.
We investigate the inclusive and semi-inclusive productions of spin-3/2 hadrons, such as $Ω$, in unpolarized $e^+ e^-$ annihilation. The general differential cross sections are expressed in terms of structure functions in accordance to the polarization of the hadron and the azimuthal modulations. We derive a complete definition of quark transverse momentum dependent (TMD) fragmentation functions (FFs) to spin-3/2 hadrons for the first time from the decomposition of the quark-quark correlation matrix at leading twist, 14 of which are newly defined corresponding to rank-3 tensor polarized hadron…
We propose the study of new observables in LHC inclusive events with three tagged jets, one in the forward direction, one in the backward direction and both well-separated in rapidity from the each other (Mueller-Navelet jets), together with a third jet tagged in central regions of rapidity. Since non-tagged associated mini-jet multiplicity is allowed, we argue that projecting the cross sections on azimuthal-angle components can provide several distinct tests of the BFKL dynamics. Realistic LHC kinematical cuts are introduced.
A study of cross sections and azimuthal correlation moments for the inclusive production of two, light charged hadrons featuring large transverse momenta and well separated in rapidity at LHC energies, including BFKL resummation effects with NLA accuracy, is presented. This reaction shares the same theoretical setup with the well konwn Mueller-Navelet jet production and can be thought of as a new and complementary channel to access the BFKL dynamics at proton colliders.
We discuss recently proposed observables, sensitive to BFKL dynamics, in the context of multijet production at the large hadron collider (LHC). In particular, we consider ratios of azimuthal angle differences in final states with three jets, well separated in rapidity from each other, with two of them being very forward/backward and the third one in the central region.
We give the first phenomenological predictions of cross sections and azimuthal correlations for the inclusive di-hadron production in the full NLA BFKL approach. This process shares the same theoretical framework with the well konwn Mueller-Navelet jet production and can be considered a novel and complementary channel to access the BFKL dynamics at proton colliders.
We study the cross sections for the inclusive production of $ψ(2S)$ and $X(3872)$ hadrons in $pp$ collisions at the LHC at two different center-of-mass energies and compare with experimental data obtained by the ATLAS, CMS, and LHCb collaborations.
We reconsider the inclusive production of isolated prompt photons in $pp$ collisions at the LHC energies in the framework of $k_T$-factorization approach. Our analysis is based on the ${\cal O}(αα_s)$ off-shell (depending on the transverse momenta of initial quarks and gluons) production amplitudes of $q^* g^* \to γq$ and $q^* \bar q^* \to γg$ partonic subprocesses and transverse momentum dependent (or unintegrated) quark and gluon densities in a proton, which are chosen in accordance with the Kimber-Martin-Ryskin prescription. We show that the sub-leading high-order ${\cal O}(αα_s^2)$ contrib…
The inclusive hadroproduction of a Higgs boson and of a jet, featuring large transverse momenta and well separated in rapidity, is proposed as a novel probe channel for the manifestation of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) dynamics. Using the standard BFKL approach, with partial inclusion of next-to-leading order effects, predictions are presented for azimuthal Higgs-jet correlations and other observables, to be possibly compared with experimental analyses at the LHC and with theoretical predictions obtained in different schemes.
