In this paper we develop a Kobayashi-Hitchin type correspondence between solutions of the extended Bogomolny equations on $Σ\times \RP$ with Nahm pole singularity at $Σ\times \{0\}$ and the Hitchin component of the stable $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ Higgs bundle; this verifies a conjecture of Gaiotto and Witten. We also develop a partial Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence for solutions with a knot singularity in this program, corresponding to the non-Hitchin components in the moduli space of stable $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ Higgs bundles. The Haydys monopole equation

We study complexified Bogomolny monopoles using the complex linear extension of the Hodge star operator; these monopoles can be interpreted as solutions to the Bogomolny equation with a complex gauge group. Alternatively, these equations can be obtained from dimensional reduction of the Haydys instanton equations to three dimensions, thus we call them Haydys monopoles. The extended Bogomolny equations with generalized Nahm pole boundary conditions, II

We develop a Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence for the extended Bogomolny equations, i.e., the dimensionally reduced Kapustin-Witten equations, on the product of a compact Riemann surface $Σ$ with ${\mathbb R}^+_y$, with generalized Nahm pole boundary conditions at $y=0$. Non-abelian vortices, Hecke modifications and singular monopoles

In this note we show that for the group G = U(N) the space of Hecke modifications of a rank N vector bundle over a Riemann surface C coincides with the moduli space of solutions of certain non-abelian vortex equations over C . Through the recent work of Kapustin and Witten this then leads to an isomorphism between the moduli space of vortices and the moduli space of singular monopoles on the product of C with a closed interval I .

Semi-abelian spectral data for singular fibres of the $\mathsf{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$-Hitchin system

We describe spectral data for singular fibres of the $\mathsf{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$-Hitchin fibration with irreducible and reduced spectral curve. Using Hecke transformations we give a stratification of these singular spaces by fibre bundles over Prym varieties. By analysing the parameter spaces of Hecke transformations this describes the singular Hitchin fibres as compactifications of abelian group bundles over abelian torsors.
