We investigate the squeezed back-to-back correlations (BBC) of $K^+$$K^-$, caused by the mass modification of the particle in the dense medium formed in d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV and Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4$ GeV. Considering some kaons may be not affected by the medium, we further study the BBC functions of $K^+$$K^-$ when parts of all kaons have a mass-shift. Our results indicate that the BBC functions of $K^+$$K^-$ can be observed when only about 10$\%$ of all kaons have a mass-shift in d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV and the peripheral collisions of Au+Au at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4$ GeV. Since the BBC function is caused by the mass-shift due to the interaction between the particle and the medium, the successful detection of the BBC function indirectly marks that the dense medium has formed in these collision systems. We suggest to measure the BBC function of $K^+$$K^-$ experimentally in d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV and peripheral collisions of Au+Au at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4$ GeV.
We investigate the squeezed back-to-back correlation (BBC) of $D^0\!{\bar D}^0$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, using the in-medium mass modification calculated with a self-energy in hot pion gas and the source space-time distributions provided by the viscous hydrodynamic code VISH2+1. It is found that the BBC of $D^0\!{\bar D}^0$ is significant in peripheral Au+Au collisions at the RHIC energy. A possible way to detect the BBC in experiment is presented.
We derive the formulas of the squeezed back-to-back correlation (SBBC) between a boson and antiboson with different in-medium masses in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. The influence of the in-medium mass difference between a boson and antiboson on the SBBC is investigated. We calculate the SBBC functions of $D$-meson pairs for the hydrodynamic sources described by the VISH2+1 code for Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =200$~GeV. Our results indicate that the SBBC strengths of $D^+D^-$ and $D^0{\bar D}^0$ are different if there are charge-dependent in-medium interactions.
We derive the formulas for calculating the squeezed back-to-back correlation (SBBC) between a boson and antiboson with nonzero width produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The SBBCs of $D^0$ and $ϕ$ mesons with finite in-medium widths are studied. We find that the finite width can change the pattern of the SBBC function of $D^0{\bar D}^0$ with respect to mass. However, the SBBC function of $ϕϕ$ is insensitive to the width. In the high-particle-momentum region, the SBBC function of $ϕϕ$ increases with particle momentum rapidly and can exceed that of $D^0{\bar D}^0$ whether the width is …
Squeezed back-to-back correlation (SBBC) of a boson-antiboson pair is sensitive to the time distribution of the particle-emitting source, and the SBBC function for an evolving source is expected to be affected by the relaxation time of the system. In this paper, we investigate the effect of relaxation time on the SBBC function. We put forth a method to calculate the SBBC function with relaxation-time modification for evolving sources. The SBBC functions of $D^0\!{\bar D}^0$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions are investigated by using a hydrodynamic model. It is found that the relaxation time…
In a recent preprint arXiv:2203.10029, the authors argue for a multiplicity scaling of the squared inverse width of the $R_{Ψ_{2}}$ distribution to claim a positive signal for the chiral magnetic effect from STAR's isobar data, in stark contradiction to the conclusion reached by the STAR Collaboration. This Comment points out the fallacy of their arguments and reinforces the STAR conclusion.
Recently, F. Wang commented on our work "Scaling properties of background- and chiral-magnetically-driven charge separation in heavy ion collisions at $\sqrt{s}_{\rm NN} = 200$ GeV" and made several claims to support his conclusion that our results are fallacious. His conclusion and claims are not only incorrect; they show a fundamental disconnect with the rudiments of the $R_{Ψ_2}(ΔS)$ correlator. This rebuttal addresses the root misconception responsible for Wang's false claims.
The ring structures that appear in Au+Au collisions at collision energies $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$ 3 -- 30 GeV are studied. The calculations are performed within the model of three-fluid dynamics. It is demonstrated that a pare of vortex rings are formed, one at forward and another at backward rapidities, in ultra-central Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}>$ 4 GeV. The vortex rings carry information about early stage of the collision, in particular about the stopping of baryons. It is shown that these rings can be detected by measuring the ring observable $R_Λ$ even in rapidity range $0<y<0.5$ (or $-0…
Impacts of nuclear structure on multiplicity ($N_{ch}$) and anisotropic flows ($v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$) in the isobaric collisions of $^{96}_{44}$Ru + $^{96}_{44}$Ru and $^{96}_{40}$Zr + $^{96}_{40}$Zr at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 7.7, 27, 62.4 and 200 GeV are investigated by using the string melting version of A MultiPhase Transport (AMPT) model. In comparison with the experimental data released recently by the STAR collaboration, it is found that the impact of quadrupole deformation $β_{2}$ on the $v_{2}$ difference is mainly manifested in the most central collisions, while the octupole deformation $β_{…
We propose a forward method, based on the PYTHIA6.4, to study theoretically the jet properties in the ultra-relativistic pp collisions. In the forward method, the partonic initial states are first generated with PYTHIA6.4 and then hadronized in the Lund srting fragmentation regime, and finally hadronic jets are constructed from the created hadrons. Jet properties calculated in the forward method for pp collisions at \sqrt{s}=7 TeV are comparable with the corresponding ones calculated with usual anti-k_t algorithm (backward method) in the PYTHIA6.4. The comparison between the results in the bac…
The Anomalous Viscous Fluid Dynamics model, AVFD, is used in concert with the charge-sensitive correlator $R_{Ψ_2}(ΔS)$ to investigate the scaling properties of background- and chiral-magnetically-driven (CME) charge separation ($ΔS$), characterized by the inverse variance $\mathrm{σ^{-2}_{R_{Ψ_2}}}$ of the $R_{Ψ_{2}}(ΔS)$ distributions obtained in collisions at $\sqrt s_{\mathrm{NN}}=200$ GeV. The $\mathrm{σ^{-2}_{R_{Ψ_2}}}$ values for the background are observed to be event-shape-independent. However, they scale with the reciprocal charged-particle multiplicity $(1/\left< N_{\rm ch} \right>)…
