The azimuthal anisotropy coefficient $v_2$ of prompt D$^0$, D$^+$, D$^{*+}$ and D$_s^+$ mesons was measured in mid-central (30-50% centrality class) Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The D mesons were reconstructed via their hadronic decays at mid-rapidity, $|y|<0.8$, in the transverse momentum interval $1<p_{\rm T}<24$ GeV/$c$. The measured D-meson $v_2$ has similar values as that of charged pions. The D$_s^+$ $v_2$, measured for the first time, is found to be compatible with that of non-strange D mesons. The measurements are compared with theoretical calculations of charm-quark transport in a hydrodynamically expanding medium and have the potential to constrain medium parameters.
We report STAR results on the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v2 for strange particles K0S, L and Lbar at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sNN = 130 GeV at RHIC. The value of v2 as a function of transverse momentum of the produced particles pt and collision centrality is presented for both particles up to pt 3.0 GeV/c. A strong pt dependence in v2 is observed up to 2.0 GeV/c. The v2 measurement is compared with hydrodynamic model calculations. The physics implications of the pt integrated v2 magnitude as a function of particle mass are also discussed.
Measurements of charged jet production with respect to the second-order harmonic event plane, quantified as $v_{2}^{\mathrm{ch~jet}}$, in $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV Pb--Pb collisions are presented. The contribution of hydrodynamic flow to the underlying event energy is corrected for on a jet-by-jet basis. Remaining effects from instrumental resolution and regional fluctuations in the energy density of the underlying event are corrected for by unfolding. Significant $v_{2}^{\mathrm{ch~jet}}$ is observed in semi-central collisions. Qualitative agreement is found with $v_{2}^{\mathrm{ch+…
We report STAR results on the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v2 for strange particles K0S and Lambda at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at /s_NN = 130 GeV at RHIC. The value of v2 as a function of transverse momentum pt and collision centrality is presented for both particles and compared to model calculations. A strong pt dependence in v2 is observed up to pt ~2.0 GeV/c where v2 begins to saturate.
We report on the first measurement of the azimuthal anisotropy ($v_2$) of dielectrons ($e^{+}e^{-}$ pairs) at mid-rapidity from $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}} = 200$ GeV Au+Au collisions with the STAR detector at RHIC, presented as a function of transverse momentum ($p_T$) for different invariant-mass regions. In the mass region $M_{ee}\!<1.1$ GeV/$c^2$ the dielectron $v_2$ measurements are found to be consistent with expectations from $π^{0}$, $η$, $ω$ and $ϕ$ decay contributions. In the mass region $1.1\!<M_{ee}\!<2.9$ GeV/$c^2$, the measured dielectron $v_2$ is consistent, within experimental uncertaint…
Studies of longitudinal correlations of the charged-particle multiplicity in heavy-ion collisions have provided insights into the asymmetry and fluctuations of the initial-state collision geometry. In addition to the expansion of the medium in the transverse direction, commonly quantified using Fourier coefficients ($v_{n}$), the initial geometry and resulting longitudinal expansion as a function of azimuthal angle enable us to better understand the full 3-dimensional picture of heavy-ion collisions. In these proceedings, azimuthal correlations of the longitudinal structure of charged-particle…
Angular correlations between heavy-flavour decay electrons and charged particles at mid-rapidity ($|η| < 0.8$) are measured in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV. The analysis is carried out for the 0-20% (high) and 60-100% (low) multiplicity ranges. The jet contribution in the correlation distribution from high-multiplicity events is removed by subtracting the distribution from low-multiplicity events. An azimuthal modulation remains after removing the jet contribution, similar to previous observations in two-particle angular correlation measurements for light-flavour hadrons. …
Studying charm hadronisation into baryons with azimuthal correlations of $Λ_{\rm c}^{+}$ with charged particles in pp collisions at $\mathbf{\sqrt{\it s} = 13}$ TeV
本研究利用ALICE探测器在13 TeV pp碰撞中首次测量$Λ_{\rm c}^{+}$重子与带电粒子的方位角关联,发现其关联低动量粒子多于D介子,且蒙特卡洛模型无法预测,暗示粲重子产生时强子化过程可能不同。
Transverse-momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) differential yields of electrons from semileptonic heavy-flavour hadron decays have been measured in the most central (0-10%) and in semi-central (20-40%) Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV. The corresponding production cross section in pp collisions has been measured at the same energy with substantially reduced systematic uncertainties with respect to previously published results. The modification of the yield in Pb-Pb collisions with respect to the expectation from an incoherent superposition of nucleon-nucleon collisions is quantified at mi…
The multiplicities of charged particles azimuthally associated with direct photons and $π^{0}$ have been measured for Au+Au, p+p, and d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV in the STAR experiment. Charged particles with transverse momentum 0.5 $<$ $p_T^{h^{\pm}}$ $<$ 16 GeV/c for p+p and d+Au, and 3 $<$ $p_T^{h^{\pm}}$ $<$ 16 GeV/c for Au+Au and pseudorapidity $\midη\mid$ $\leq$ 1.5 in coincidence with direct photons and $π^{0}$ of high transverse momentum 8 $<$ $p_T^{γ,π^{0}}$ $<$ 16 GeV/c at $\midη\mid$ $\leq$ 0.9 have been used for this analysis. Within the considered range of kinemat…
The elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity ($|y|$ $<$ 0.7) is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with ALICE at the LHC. The particle azimuthal distribution with respect to the reaction plane can be parametrized with a Fourier expansion, where the second coefficient ($v_{\rm 2}$) represents the elliptic flow. The $v_{\rm 2}$ coefficient of inclusive electrons is measured in three centrality classes (0-10%, 10-20% and 20-40%) with the event plane and the scalar product methods in the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) intervals 0.5-…
Elliptic flow and two-particle azimuthal correlations of charged hadrons and high-$p_T$ pions ($p_T>$ 1 GeV/$c$) have been measured close to mid-rapidity in 158A GeV/$c$ Pb+Au collisions by the CERES experiment. Elliptic flow ($v_2$) rises linearly with $p_T$ to a value of about 10% at 2 GeV/$c$. Beyond $p_T\approx$ 1.5 GeV/$c$, the slope decreases considerably, possibly indicating a saturation of $v_2$ at high $p_T$. Two-pion azimuthal anisotropies for $p_T>$ 1.2 GeV/$c$ exceed the elliptic flow values by about 60% in mid-central collisions. These non-flow contributions are attributed to near…
We present the first measurements of identified hadron production, azimuthal anisotropy, and pion interferometry from Au+Au collisions below the nominal injection energy at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) facility. The data were collected using the large acceptance STAR detector at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 9.2 GeV from a test run of the collider in the year 2008. Midrapidity results on multiplicity density (dN/dy) in rapidity (y), average transverse momentum (<pT>), particle ratios, elliptic flow, and HBT radii are consistent with the corresponding results at similar $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ from f…
In this proceedings, we have presented the invariant yield measurements of strange and multi strange hadrons such as $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ$, $\barΛ$, $ϕ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $\barΞ^{+}$, $Ω^{-}$, $\barΩ^{+}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 54.4 GeV at midrapidity ($|y|<0.5$). The second and third-order azimuthal anisotropic flow of the above mentioned particles at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 27 and 54.4 GeV are also discussed. Some of the important observables such as nuclear modification factor ($R_{CP}$), baryon to meson ratio ($Ω/ϕ$), transverse momentum dependence of $v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$ are measured. The n…
We have studied the transverse-momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) dependence of the inclusive J/$ψ$ production in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV, in three center-of-mass rapidity ($y_{\rm cms}$) regions, down to zero $p_{\rm T}$. Results in the forward and backward rapidity ranges ($2.03 < y_{\rm cms} < 3.53$ and $-4.46 <y_{\rm cms}< -2.96$) are obtained by studying the J/$ψ$ decay to $μ^+μ^-$, while the mid-rapidity region ($-1.37 < y_{\rm cms} < 0.43$) is investigated by measuring the ${\rm e}^+{\rm e}^-$ decay channel. The $p_{\rm T}$ dependence of the J/$ψ$ production cross section …
The production yield of prompt D mesons and their elliptic flow coefficient $v_2$ were measured with the Event-Shape Engineering (ESE) technique applied to mid-central (10-30% and 30-50% centrality classes) Pb-Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} =5.02$ TeV, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The ESE technique allows the classification of events, belonging to the same centrality, according to the azimuthal anisotropy of soft particle production in the collision. The reported measurements give the opportunity to investigate the dynamics of charm quarks…
In this proceedings we present STAR measurements of two particle azimuthal correlations between trigger particles at mid-rapidity ($|η|<$ 1) and associated particles at forward rapidities (2.7 $<|η|<$ 3.9) in p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} $= 200 GeV. Two particle azimuthal correlations between a mid-rapidity trigger particle and forward-rapidity associated particles preferably probe large-x quarks scattered off small-x gluons in RHIC collisions. Comparison of the separate d- and Au-side measurements in d+Au collisions may potentially probe gluon saturation and the presence o…
During RHIC 2010 run, STAR has collected a large amount of minimum-bias, central and high $p_{T}$ trigger data in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 39$, 62.4 and 200 GeV with detector configuration for minimum photonic conversion background. In this article we report on a new high precision measurement of non-photonic electron mid-rapidity invariant yield, improved nuclear modification factor and $v_{2}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200$ GeV. We also present measurements of mid-rapidity invariant yield at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 62.4$ and $v_{2}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 39$ and 62.4 GeV.
The production of the prompt charmed mesons $D^0$, $D^+$ and $D^{*+}$ relative to the reaction plane was measured in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. D mesons were reconstructed via their hadronic decays at central rapidity in the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) interval of 2-16 GeV/$c$. The azimuthal anisotropy is quantified in terms of the second coefficient $v_2$ in a Fourier expansion of the D meson azimuthal distribution, and in terms of the nuclear modification factor $R_{\rm …
Mid-rapidity azimuthal correlations probe di-jets originating mainly from gluon-gluon hard-scattering. Measurements of such correlations have revealed significant (gluon-)jet modification in central Au+Au collisions. Azimuthal correlations at forward rapidity with a mid-rapidity high-pt hadron, on the other hand, are sensitive primarily to quark-gluon hard-scattering and may probe quark-jet modification in nuclear medium. They may be also sensitive to the Color Glass Condensate by separating d-side and Au-side in d+Au collisions. We present the first results on correlations of charged hadrons …
We present a measurement of azimuthal correlations between inclusive J/$ψ$ and charged hadrons in p-Pb collisions recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/$ψ$ are reconstructed at forward (p-going, 2.03 $<$ y $<$ 3.53) and backward (Pb-going, $-$4.46 $<$ y $<$ $-$2.96) rapidity via their $μ^+μ^-$ decay channel, while the charged hadrons are reconstructed at mid-rapidity ($|η|$ $<$ 1.8). The correlations are expressed in terms of associated charged-hadron yields per J/$ψ$ trigger. A rapidity gap of at least 1.5 units is required between the trigger J/$ψ$ and the associated charge…
Mixed harmonic charge dependent azimuthal correlations at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76 TeV were measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC. A clear charge dependence for a series of correlations is observed both via the multi-particle cumulant and the event plane methods. Implications from these measurements for the possible effects of local parity violation in QCD and for models which incorporate azimuthal anisotropic flow and "effective" local charge conservation on the kinetic freeze-out surface are discussed.
The PHENIX experiment has shown that J/psis are suppressed in central Au+Au collisions at a center of mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision sqrt s(NN) = 200 GeV, and that the suppression is larger at forward than at mid-rapidity. Part of this difference may be explained by cold nuclear matter effects but the most central collisions suggest that regeneration mechanisms could be at play. In 2007, PHENIX collected almost four times more Au+Au collisions at this energy than used for previous published results. Moreover, the addition of a new reaction plane detector allows a much better analysi…
Hadrons containing heavy quarks, i.e. charm or beauty, are unique probes of the properties of the hot and dense QCD medium produced in heavy-ion collisions. Due to their large masses, heavy quarks are produced at the initial stage of the collision, almost exclusively via hard partonic scattering processes. Therefore, they are expected to experience the full collision history propagating through the QCD medium losing energy via elastic and inelastic collisions with the medium constituents. The ALICE collaboration has measured the production of open heavy-flavour hadrons via their hadronic and s…
Centrality dependence of charged-particle pseudorapidity density at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\mathbf{\sqrt{\textit{s}_{\rm NN}} = 5.36}$ TeV
ALICE首次在5.36 TeV Pb-Pb碰撞中测量中快度带电粒子赝快度密度,最中心5%碰撞的值为2010±53,结果验证了粒子产生模型并约束了初始能量密度。
The transverse momentum dependence of the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v_{2}, the second harmonic of the azimuthal distribution, for electrons at mid-rapidity (|eta|<0.35) has been measured with the PHENIX detector in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV with respect to the reaction plane defined at high rapidities (|eta|=3-4). From the result we have calculated non-photonic electron v_{2}, which is expected to reflect the heavy-flavor azimuthal anisotropy, by subtracting v_{2} of electrons from other sources such as photon conversions, Dalitz decay etc.

A clear charge dependence for a series of correlations is observed both via the multi-particle cumulant and the event plane methods. We have studied the average charged particle density ($<$dN$_{ch}$/d$η$$>$), transverse momentum ($p_{\mathrm{T}}$) spectra, $<$$p_{\mathrm{T}}$$>$ and azimuthal anisotropies of inclusive charged particles produced in Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV using A Multiphase Transport Model (AMPT), which includes the deformation of Xe$^{129}$ nucleus. Calculations have been performed with the string melting version of AMPT model and compared with the recent measurements from the ALICE experiment. The model results over predict the measured $<$dN$_{ch}$/d$η$$>$ for central collisions, a…
The recent study of centrality and transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) dependence of inclusive charged hardron elliptic anisotropy ($v_{2}$) at midrapidity ($|η|<1.0$) in Au+Au collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =$ 7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, and 39 GeV in STAR Beam Energy Scan program is presented. We show that the observed increase of inclusive $v_{2}$ is mainly due to the average $p_{T}$ increase with energy. In Au+Au 200 GeV collisions, the triangular anisotropy ($v_{3}$) measurements highly depend on measurment methods; $v_{3}$ is strongly dependent on $Δη$. The difference between two- and four-particle cumu…
Forward particle production and correlation measurements at RHIC can probe low-$x$ gluons. The suppression observed in back-to-back forward $π^{0}$+forward $π^{0}$ correlations at STAR in central d+Au collisions at STAR is consistent with a prediction of the Color Glass Condensate (CGC) calculation, indicating the gold nucleus probed at such low-$x$ is in a dense gluon state. The forward $π^{0}$ + near-forward jet-like cluster azimuthal correlations in 200 GeV p+p and d+Au collisions at STAR are studied, which are sensitive to the intermediate x region between forward+mid-rapidity correlations…
The measurement of the azimuthal-correlation function of prompt D mesons with charged particles in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC is reported. The D$^{\rm 0}$, D$^{\rm +}$, and D$^{\rm *+}$ mesons, together with their charge conjugates, were reconstructed at midrapidity in the transverse momentum interval 3 < $p_{\rm T}$ < 24 GeV/c and correlated with charged particles having $p_{\rm T}$ > 0.3 GeV/c and pseudorapidity $|η| <$ 0.8. The properties of the correlation peaks appearing in the near- and a…
Mid-rapidity azimuthal correlations probe di-jets originating mainly from gluon-gluon hard-scattering. Measurements of such correlations have revealed significant (gluon-)jet modification in central Au+Au collisions. Azimuthal correlations of hadrons at forward rapidity with a mid-rapidity high-$\pt$ hadron, on the other hand, probe asymmetric partonic scatterings involving large-x quarks and small-x gluons. We present preliminary results from STAR on correlations of charged hadrons at forward rapidity in the forward TPCs ($2.7<|η|<3.9$, $\pt<2$ GeV/$c$) with high-$\pt$ charged hadrons at mid-…
We report the first measurement at the LHC of coherent photoproduction of $ρ^0$ mesons in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions. The invariant mass and transverse momentum distributions for $ρ^0$ production are studied in the $π^+ π^-$ decay channel at mid-rapidity. The production cross section in the rapidity range $|y|<0.5$ is found to be $\mathrm{d}σ/\mathrm{d}y = 425 \pm 10 \, (\mathrm{stat.})$ $^{+42}_{-50} \, (\mathrm{sys.})$ mb. Coherent $ρ^0$ production is studied with and without requirement of nuclear breakup, and the fractional yields for various breakup scenarios are presented. The res…
We report a precise measurement of the J/$ψ$ elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The J/$ψ$ mesons are reconstructed at mid-rapidity ($|y| < 0.9$) in the dielectron decay channel and at forward rapidity ($2.5<y<4.0$) in the dimuon channel, both down to zero transverse momentum. At forward rapidity, the elliptic flow $v_2$ of the J/$ψ$ is studied as a function of transverse momentum and centrality. A positive $v_2$ is observed in the transverse momentum range $2 < p_{\rm T} < 8$ GeV/$c$ in the three centrality classes studied an…
Forward di-jet production in d+Au collisions at RHIC provides sensitivity to Bjorken-x between 0.001 and 0.02 for the nuclear gluon density . The STAR experiment at RHIC has continuous azimuthal coverage with electromagnetic calorimeters for pseudo-rapidity from -1 to 4. We have measured forward+mid-rapidity $π^{0}-π^{0}$ and $π^{0}-h$ azimuthal correlations and forward+forward rapidity $π^{0}-π^{0}$ azimuthal correlations. Both analyses use the Forward Meson Spectrometer (FMS) triggered data in RHIC 2008 run p+p and d+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=200 GeV. The end-cap electromagnetic calor…
The production of the charm-strange baryon $Ξ_{\rm c}^0$ is measured for the first time at the LHC via its semileptonic decay into e$^+Ξ^-ν_{\rm e}$ in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ALICE detector. The transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) differential cross section multiplied by the branching ratio is presented in the interval 1 $<$ $p_{\rm T}$ $<$ 8 GeV/$c$ at mid-rapidity, $|y|$ $<$ 0.5. The transverse momentum dependence of the $Ξ_{\rm c}^0$ baryon production relative to the D$^0$ meson production is compared to predictions of event generators with various tunes of the hadronisati…
Azimuthal angle correlations of charged hadrons were measured in $\sqrt s_{NN}$ = 2.76 TeV PbPb collisions by the CMS experiment. The distributions exhibit anisotropies that are correlated with the event-by-event orientation of the reaction plane. Several methods were employed to extract the strength of the signal: the event-plane, cumulant and Lee-Yang Zeros methods. These methods have different sensitivity to correlations that are not caused by the collective motion in the system (non-flow correlations due to jets, resonance decays, and quantum correlations). The second Fourier coefficient o…
Azimuthal distributions of pi+, K+ and K- mesons have been measured in Au+Au reactions at 1.5 AGeV and Ni+Ni reactions at 1.93 AGeV. In semi-central collisions at midrapidity, pi+ and K+ mesons are emitted preferentially perpendicular to the reaction plane in both collision systems. In contrast for K- mesons in Ni+Ni reactions an in-plane elliptic flow was observed for the first time at these incident energies.
Two-particle azimuthal correlations of high-pT hadrons can serve as a probe of interactions of partons with the dense medium produced in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. First NA49 results on such correlations are presented for central and mid-central Pb+Pb collisions at 158A GeV beam energy, for different centrality bins and charge combinations of trigger and associate particles. These results feature a flattened away-side peak in the most central collisions, which is consistent with expectations of the medium-interaction scenario. A comparison with CERES Pb+Au results at the same energy, as…
The azimuthal variation of jet yields in heavy-ion collisions provides information about the path-length dependence of the energy loss experienced by partons passing through the hot, dense nuclear matter known as the quark-gluon plasma. This paper presents the azimuthal anisotropy coefficients $v_2$, $v_3$, and $v_4$ measured for jets in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =$ 5.02 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The measurement uses data collected in 2015 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.2 nb$^{-1}$. The $v_n$ values are measured as a function of the transverse …
The first measurements of anisotropic flow coefficients $v_{\rm{n}}$ for mid-rapidity charged particles in Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} = 5.44$ TeV are presented. Comparing these measurements to those from Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV, $v_{2}$ is found to be suppressed for mid-central collisions at the same centrality, and enhanced for central collisions. The values of $v_{3}$ are generally larger in Xe-Xe than in Pb-Pb at a given centrality. These observations are consistent with expectations from hydrodynamic predictions. When both $v_{2}$ and $v_{3}$ are di…
The prompt D$^0$ meson azimuthal anisotropy coefficients, $v_2$ and $v_3$, are measured at midrapidity ($|y| < 1.0$) in PbPb collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = $5.02 TeV per nucleon pair with data collected by the CMS experiment. The measurement is performed in the transverse momentum ($p_\mathrm{T}$) range of 1 to 40 GeV/c, for central and midcentral collisions. The $v_2$ coefficient is found to be positive throughout the $p_\mathrm{T}$ range studied. The first measurement of the prompt D$^0$ meson $v_3$ coefficient is performed, and values up to 0.07 are observed f…
Preliminary results from the STAR collaboration for the azimuthal elliptic anisotropy $(v_{_{2}})$ of high transverse momentum ($p_{_{T}}$) direct photons ($γ_{_{dir}}$) produced at mid-rapidity ($|η^{γ_{_{dir}}}|<1$) in Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$~GeV are presented, and compared to the measured $(v_{_{2}})$ of neutral pions ($π^{0}$) in the same kinematic range. The electromagnetic transverse shower profile is used to distinguish $π^{0}$ from direct photons. The measured $v_{_{2}}^{γ_{_{dir}}}(p_{_{T}})$ at high $p_{_{T}}$ ($8< p_{_{T}}^{γ_{_{dir}}}<20$~Ge…
We present STAR measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy parameter $v_2$ and the binary-collision scaled centrality ratio $R_{CP}$ for kaons and lambdas ($Λ+\barΛ$) at mid-rapidity in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$ GeV. In combination, the $v_2$ and $R_{CP}$ particle-type dependencies contradict expectations from partonic energy loss followed by standard fragmentation in vacuum. We establish $p_T \approx 5$ GeV/c as the value where the centrality dependent baryon enhancement ends. The $K_S^0$ and $Λ+\barΛ$ $v_2$ values are consistent with expectations of constituent-quark-number sc…
Angular correlations of heavy-flavour and charged particles in high-energy proton-proton collisions are sensitive to the production mechanisms of heavy quarks and to their fragmentation as well as hadronisation processes. The measurement of the azimuthal-correlation function of prompt D mesons with charged particles in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with the ALICE detector is reported, considering D$^{0}$, D$^{+}$, and D$^{*+}$ mesons in the transverse-momentum interval $3 < p_{\rm T} < 36$ GeV/$c$ at midrapidity ($|y| < 0.5$), and charged particles …
The azimuthal correlations of direct photons ($γ_{_{dir}}$) with high transverse momentum ($p_{_{T}}$), produced at mid-rapidity ($|η^{γ_{_{dir}}}|<1$) in Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$~GeV, are measured and compared to those of neutral pions ($π^{0}$) in the same kinematic range. The measured azimuthal elliptic anisotropy of direct photon, $v_{_{2}}^{γ_{_{dir}}}(p_{_{T}})$, at high $p_{_{T}}$ ($8< p_{_{T}}^{γ_{_{dir}}}<20$~GeV/$c$) is found to be smaller than that of $π^{0}$ and consistent with zero when using the forward detectors ($2.4 <|η|< 4.0$) in recons…

We report on two-particle azimuthal angle correlations between charged hadrons at forward/backward (deuteron/gold going direction) rapidity and charged hadrons at mid-rapidity in deuteron-gold (d+Au) and proton-proton (p+p) collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV. Jet structures are observed in the correlations which we quantify in terms of the conditional yield and angular width of away side partners. The kinematic region studied here samples partons in the gold nucleus carrying nucleon momentum fraction x~0.1 to x~0.01. Within this range, we find no x dependence of the jet structure in d+Au colli…
The first measurement of the coherent photoproduction of $ρ^{0}$ vector mesons in ultra-peripheral Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{\rm NN}}}= 5.44$ TeV is presented. This result, together with previous HERA $γ$p data and $γ$-Pb measurements from ALICE, describes the atomic number ($A$) dependence of this process, which is particularly sensitive to nuclear shadowing effects and to the approach to the black-disc limit of QCD at a semi-hard scale. The cross section of the ${\rm Xe}+{\rm Xe} \to ρ^{0} + {\rm Xe}+{\rm Xe}$ process, measured at midrapidity through the decay channel $ρ^{0}\toπ^…
Using a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model that includes the implementation of deformed Uranium nuclei, we have studied the centrality dependence of the charged particle multiplicity, <pT>, eccentricity (e2), triangularity (e3), their fluctuations, elliptic flow (v2) and triangular flow (v3) for different configurations of U+U collisions at midrapidity for \sqrt(s_NN)=200 GeV. The results are compared to the corresponding observations from Au+Au collisions. We find that for the U+U collisions the dNch/dηat midrapidity is enhanced by about 15-40% depending on the collision and model configurati…
Preliminary results from the STAR collaboration of the azimuthal anisotropy $(v_{2})$ of $π^{0}$ and direct photon ($γ_{dir}$) at high transverse momentum (p$_{T}$) from Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$~GeV are presented. A shower-shape analysis is used to select a sample free of direct photons ($π^0$) and a sample rich in direct photons $γ_{rich}$. The relative contribution of background in the $γ_{rich}$ sample is determined assuming no associated charged particles nearby $γ_{dir}$. The $v_{2}$ of direct photons ($v_{2}^{γ_{dir}}$) at mid-rapidity ($|η^{γ_{dir…
In this paper measurements are presented of $\rm π$$^+$, $\rm π$$^-$, K$^+$, K$^-$, p and $\overline{\rm p}$ production at mid-rapidity < 0.5, in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV as a function of centrality. The measurement covers the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) range from 100, 200, 300 MeV/$c$ up to 3, 3, 4.6 GeV/$c$, for $\rmπ$, K, and p respectively. The measured $p_{\rm T}$ distributions and yields are compared to expectations based on hydrodynamic, thermal and recombination models. The spectral shapes of central collisions show a stronger radial flow than measured …
Azimuthal distributions of $η$ and $π^{0}$ mesons emitted at midrapidity in collisions of 1.9 AGeV $^{58}$Ni+$^{58}$Ni and 2 AGeV $^{40}$Ca+$^{nat}$Ca are studied as a function of the number of projectile-like spectator nucleons. The observed anisotropy corresponds to a negative elliptic flow signal for $η$ mesons, indicating a preferred emission perpendicular to the reaction plane. The effect is smallest in peripheral Ni+Ni collisions. In contrast, for $π^{0}$ mesons, elliptic flow is observed only in peripheral Ni+Ni collisions, changing from positive to negative sign with increasing pion tr…
New measurements are presented for charged hadron azimuthal correlations at mid-rapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 62.4 and 200 GeV. They are compared to earlier measurements obtained at sqrt(s_NN) = 130 GeV and in Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 17.2 GeV. Sizeable anisotropies are observed with centrality and transverse momentum (p_T) dependence characteristic of elliptic flow (v_2). For a broad range of centralities, the observed magnitudes and trends of the differential anisotropy, v_2(p_T), change very little over the collision energy range sqrt(s_NN) = 62-200 GeV, indicating sa…
