We introduce and study the higher tetrahedral algebras, an exotic family of finite-dimensional tame symmetric algebras over an algebraically closed field. The Gabriel quiver of such an algebra is the triangulation quiver associated to the coherent orientation of the tetrahedron. Surprisingly, these algebras occurred in the classification of all algebras of generalised quaternion type, but are not weighted surface algebras. We prove that a higher tetrahedral algebra is periodic if and only if it is non-singular.
We introduce general weighted surface algebras of triangulated surfaces with arbitrarily oriented triangles and describe their basic properties. In particular, we prove that all these algebras, except the singular disc, triangle, tetrahedral and spherical algebras, are symmetric tame periodic algebras of period 4.
We introduce and study higher spherical algebras, an exotic family of finite-dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field. We prove that every such an algebra is derived equivalent to a higher tetrahedral algebra studied in [7], an hence that it is a tame symmetric periodic algebra of period four.
A finite-dimensional algebra $A$ over an algebraically closed field $K$ is called periodic if it is periodic under the action of the syzygy operator in the category of $A-A-$ bimodules. The periodic algebras are self-injective and occur naturally in the study of tame blocks of group algebras, actions of finite groups on spheres, hypersurface singularities of finite Cohen-Macaulay type, and Jacobian algebras of quivers with potentials. Recently, the tame periodic algebras of polynomial growth have been classified and it is natural to attempt to classify all tame periodic algebras. We introduce …
We introduce higher gentle algebras. Our definition allows us to determine the singularity categories and subsequently show that higher gentle algebras are Iwanaga-Gorenstein. Under extra assumptions, we show that cluster-tilted algebras (in the sense of Oppermann-Thomas) of higher Auslander algebras of type $A$ are higher gentle.
An artin algebra A is said to be a higher Auslander algebra provided the global dimension and the dominant dimension coincide. We say that a linear Nakayama algebra is monotone, provided its Kupisch series first increases, then decreases. We are going to classify the monotone Nakayama algebras which are higher Auslander algebras. Let us stress that the classification strongly depends on the parity of the global dimension of A.
We give new improved bounds for the dominant dimension of Nakayama algebras and use those bounds to give a classification of Nakayama algebras with $n$ simple modules that are higher Auslander algebras with global dimension at least $n$. The classification is then used to extend the results on the inequality for the global dimension of Nakayama algebras obtained in \cite{MM}.
For a path algebra $A$ over a quiver $Q$, there are bijections between the support-tilting modules of $A$, torsion classes in $\mathrm{mod}(A)$ and wide subcategories in $\mathrm{mod}(A)$; these are part of the Ingalls-Thomas bijections. As a blueprint for further study, we show how these bijections manifest themselves for higher Auslander algebras of linearly oriented type $A$. In particular, we introduce a higher analogue of torsion classes in $d$-representation-finite algebras.
In this paper, we give sufficient properties for a finite dimensional graded algebra to be a higher preprojective algebra. These properties are of homological nature, they use Gorensteiness and bimodule isomorphisms in the stable category of Cohen-Macaulay modules. We prove that these properties are also necessary for $3$-preprojective algebras using \cite{Kel11} and for preprojective algebras of higher representation finite algebras using \cite{Dugas}.
We prove that any cyclic Nakayama algebra which is a higher Auslander algebra can be uniquely constructed from Nakayama algebras of smaller ranks by reversing the syzygy filtration process. This creates chains of higher Auslander algebras upto $\boldsymbol\varepsilon$-equivalences. Therefore, the classification of all cyclic Nakayama algebras which are higher Auslander algebras reduces to the classification of linear ones. We give two applications of this: for any integer $k$ where $2\leq k\leq 2n-2$, there is a Nakayama algebra of rank $n$ which is a higher Auslander algebra of global dimensi…
We show that the higher rank triplet W-algebra is simple when p is bigger than or equal to h-1. Furthermore, we show that the Feigin-Tipunin's module over the higher rank triplet W-algebra introduced in arXiv:1002.5047 is simple if the parameter is in the closure of the fundamental alcove, and give the decomposition as a direct sum of simple modules over the affine W-algebras at level p-h.
In this note, the notion of cotorsion classes is introduced into the higher homological algebra. Our results motivate the definition, showing that this notion of $n$-cotorsion classes satisfies usual properties one could expect. In particular, a higher version of Wakamatsu's Lemma is proved. Connections with wide subcategories are also studied.
In this article we study higher preprojective algebras, showing that various known results for ordinary preprojective algebras generalize to the higher setting. We first show that the quiver of the higher preprojective algebra is obtained by adding arrows to the quiver of the original algebra, and these arrows can be read off from the last term of the bimodule resolution of the original algebra. In the Koszul case we are able to obtain the new relations of the higher preprojective algebra by differentiating a superpotential and we show that when our original algebra is $d$-hereditary all the r…
We define a higher level version of the affine Hecke algebra and prove that, after completion, this algebra is isomorphic to a completion of Webster's tensor product algebra of type A. We then introduce a higher level version of the affine Schur algebra and establish, again after completion, an isomorphism with the quiver Schur algebra. An important observation is that the higher level affine Schur algebra surjects to the Dipper-James-Mathas cyclotomic q-Schur algebra. Moreover, we give nice diagrammatic presentations for all the algebras introduced in this paper.
These notes are an expanded version of my talk at the ICRA 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic; they are based on joint work with Tobias Dyckerhoff and Tashi Walde. In them we relate Iyama's higher Auslander algebras of type $\mathbb{A}$ to Eilenberg--Mac Lane spaces in algebraic topology and to higher-dimensional versions of the Waldhausen $\operatorname{S}$-construction from algebraic $K$-theory.
We introduce higher dimensional analogues of the Nakayama algebras from the viewpoint of Iyama's higher Auslander--Reiten theory. More precisely, for each Nakayama algebra $A$ and each positive integer $d$, we construct a finite dimensional algebra $A^{(d)}$ having a distinguished $d$-cluster-tilting $A^{(d)}$-module whose endomorphism algebra is a higher dimensional analogue of the Auslander algebra of $A$. We also construct higher dimensional analogues of the mesh category of type $\mathbb{ZA}_\infty$ and the tubes.
We construct a geometric system from which the Hall algebra can be recovered. This system inherently satisfies higher associativity conditions and thus leads to a categorification of the Hall algebra. We then suggest how to use this approach to construct categorified representations.
The representation theory (idempotents, quivers, Cartan invariants and Loewy series) of the higher order unital peak algebras is investigated. On the way, we obtain new interpretations and generating functions for the idempotents of descent algebras introduced in [F. Saliola, J. Algebra 320 (2008) 3866.]
We consider maximal non-$l$-intertwining collections, which are a higher-dimensional version of the maximal non-crossing collections which give clusters of Plücker coordinates in the Grassmannian coordinate ring, as described by Scott. We extend a method of Scott for producing such collections, which are related to tensor products of higher Auslander algebras of type $A$. We show that a higher preprojective algebra of the tensor product of two $d$-representation-finite algebras has a $d$-precluster-tilting subcategory. Finally we relate mutations of these collections to a form of tilting for t…
Higher derivations on an associative algebra generalizes higher order derivatives. We call a tuple consisting of an algebra and a higher derivation on it by an AssHDer pair. We define a cohomology for AssHDer pairs with coefficients in a representation. Next, we study central extensions, abelian extensions of AssHDer pairs and relate them to the second cohomology group with appropriate coefficients. Deformations of AssHDer pairs are also considered which are governed by the cohomology with self coefficient.
In this paper, we show that for a Koszul $n$-homogeneous algebra $Λ$, the quadratic dual of certain twisted trivial extension is the $(n+1)$-preprojective algebra of its quadratic dual, that is, $ (Δ_νΛ)^{!,op} \simeqΠ( Λ^{ !, op })$. This is applied to the $τ$-slice algebras of stable $n$-translation algebras and gives a noncommutative version of Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand correspondence for such algebras.
Given any Koszul algebra of finite global dimension one can define a new algebra, which we call a higher zigzag algebra, as a twisted trivial extension of the Koszul dual of our original algebra. If our original algebra is the path algebra of a quiver whose underlying graph is a tree, this construction recovers the zigzag algebras of Huerfano and Khovanov. We study examples of higher zigzag algebras coming from Iyama's iterative construction of type A higher representation finite algebras. We give presentations of these algebras by quivers and relations, and describe relations between spherica…
In this paper we determine extensions of higher degree between indecomposable modules over gentle algebras. In particular, our results show how such extensions either eventually vanish or become periodic. We give a geometric interpretation of vanishing and periodicity of higher extensions in terms of the surface underlying the gentle algebra. For gentle algebras arising from triangulations of surfaces, we give an explicit basis of higher extension spaces between indecomposable modules.
Let G be a connected real reductive group. Orbit integrals define traces on the group algebra of G. We introduce a construction of higher orbit integrals in the direction of higher cyclic cocycles on the Harish-Chandra Schwartz algebra of G. We analyze these higher orbit integrals via Fourier transform by expressing them as integrals on the tempered dual of G. We obtain explicit formulas for the pairing between the higher orbit integrals and the K-theory of the reduced group C*-algebra, and discuss their applications to representation theory and K-theory.
