Critical properties of the dynamical phase transition in the quenched generalized Bose-Anderson impurity model are studied in the mean-field limit of an infinite number of channels. The transition separates the evolution toward ground state and toward the branch of stable excited states. We perform numerically exact simulations of a close vicinity of the critical quench amplitude. The relaxation constant describing the asymptotic evolution toward ground state, as well as asymptotic frequency of persistent phase rotation and number of cloud particles at stable excited state are power functions of the detuning from the critical quench amplitude. The critical evolution (separatrix between the two regimes) shows a non-Lyapunov power-law instability arising after a certain critical time. The observed critical behavior is attributed to the irreversibility of the dynamics of particles leaving the cloud and to memory effects related to the low-energy behavior of the lattice density of states.
We provide an analytical model to fabricate an exponential localization of a Bose-Einstein condensate under bichromatic optical lattice. Such localization is famously known as Anderson localization. The degree of localization is investigated by the Participation Ratio to recognize the laser parameter domain for Anderson localization. The exponential nature of the localization is proved, where we also identify the Localization Length. The tunneling of Anderson-localized condensate with time is observed, and the revival phenomenon of Anderson localization is reported. Slowing down of Anderson lo…
We present the eigenmodal analysis techniques enhanced towards calculations of optical and non-interacting Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) modes formed by random potentials and localized by Anderson effect. The results are compared with the published measurements and verified additionally by the convergence criterion. In 2-D BECs captured in circular areas, the randomness shows edge localization of the high-order Tamm-modes. To avoid strong diffusive effect, which is typical for BECs trapped by speckle potentials, a 3-D-lattice potential with increased step magnitudes is proposed, and the BECs …
Anderson localization in a two-dimensional ultracold Bose-gas has been demonstrated experimentally. Atoms were released within a dumbbell-shaped optical trap, where the channel of variable aspect ratio provided the only path for particles to travel between source and drain reservoirs. This channel can be populated with columnar (repulsive) optical potential spikes of square cross section with arbitrary pattern. These spikes constitute impurities, the scattering centres for the otherwise free propagation of the particles. This geometry does not allow for classical potential trapping which can b…
We study the Bose-Hubbard model in the presence of on-site disorder in the canonical ensemble and conclude that the local density of the Bose glass phase behaves differently at incommensurate filling than it does at commensurate one. Scaling of the superfluid density at incommensurate filling of $ρ=1.1$ and on-site interaction $U=80t$ predicts a superfluid-Bose glass transition at disorder strength of $Δ_c \approx 30t$. At this filling the local density distribution shows skew behavior with increasing disorder strength. Multifractal analysis also suggests a multifractal behavior resembling tha…
We predict a dynamical resonant effect, which is driven by externally applied linear and quadratic Zeeman fields, in a spin-orbit-coupled spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate. The Bose-Einstein condensate is assumed to be initialized in some superposed state of Zeeman sublevels and subject to a sudden shift of the trapping potential. It is shown that the time-averaged center-of-mass oscillation and the spin polarizations of the Bose-Einstein condensate exhibit remarkable resonant peaks when the Zeeman fields are tuned to certain strengths. The underlying physics behind this resonance can be traced …
We investigate the dynamical phase transition of two-component Bose-Einstein condensate with nonlinear tunneling, which is trapped inside a double-well and dispersively coupled to a single mode of a high-finesse optical cavity with one moving end mirror driven by a single mode standing field. The nonlinear tunneling interaction leads to an increase of stability points and riches the phase diagram of the system. It is shown that the appearance of the moving end mirror speeds up the tunneling of Bose-Einstein condensates, which makes population difference between two wells and regulates the numb…
We study the dynamics of one-dimensional bosons trapped in a box potential, in the presence of a barrier creating a tunable weak-link, thus realizing a one dimensional Bose Josephson junction. By varying the initial population imbalance and the barrier height we evidence different dynamical regimes. In particular we show that at large barriers a two mode model captures accurately the dynamics, while for low barriers the dynamics involves dispersive shock waves and solitons. We study a quench protocol that can be readily implemented in experiments and show that self-trapping resonances can occu…
Thermalizing and localized many-body quantum systems present two distinct dynamical phases of matter. Recently, the fate of a localized system coupled to a thermalizing system viewed as a quantum bath received significant theoretical and experimental attention. In this work, we study a mobile impurity, representing a small quantum bath, that interacts locally with an Anderson insulator with a finite density of localized particles. Using static Hartree approximation to obtain an effective disorder strength, we formulate an analytic criterion for the perturbative stability of the localization. N…
We study the structure of a Bose-condensed gas after quenching interactions to unitarity. Using the method of cumulants, we decompose the evolving gas in terms of clusters. Within the quantum depletion we observe the emergence of two-body clusters bound purely by many-body effects, scaling continuously with the atomic density. As the unitary Bose gas forms, three-body Efimov clusters are first localized and then sequentially absorbed into the embedded atom-molecule scattering continuum of the surrounding depletion. These results motivate future experimental probes of a quenched Bose-condensate…
