We compare the prospects for observing theories with Majorana or Dirac gauginos at a future 100 TeV proton-proton collider. Calculating the expected discovery and exclusion regions, we find that for heavy gluino masses the squark discovery reach is significantly reduced in Dirac gluino models relative to the Majorana case. However, if the squark and gluino masses are close the reach is similar in both scenarios. We also consider the electroweak fine tuning of theories observable at such a collider, and the impact of existing constraints from flavour and CP violating observables. Models with Majorana gluinos that are fine tuned to less than one part in 10,000 can typically be discovered or excluded, and Dirac models with tuning of one part in 1,000 can be probed. The flavour structure of Majorana models is highly constrained if they have observable squarks, while O(1) violation is possible in accessible Dirac models. In both cases new sources of CP violation must be very suppressed. Future collider searches can also give important information on possible dark matter candidates. We study the relation of this to indirect and direct detection searches, and find that if dark matter is a neutralino, a 100 TeV collider could probe the viable dark matter candidates in large classes of both Dirac and Majorana models.
Supersymmetric models with a Dirac gluino have been shown to be considerably less constrained from LHC searches than models with a Majorana gluino. In this paper, we generalize this discussion to models with a "Mixed Gluino", that acquires both Dirac and Majorana masses, as well as models in which electroweak gauginos contribute to squark production. Our primary interest is the degree of suppression of the cross section for first generation squarks compared with a gluino with a pure Majorana mass. We find that not all Majorana masses are alike -- a Majorana mass for the gluino can suppress the…
Under a few mild assumptions, N=1 supersymmetry in four dimensions is shown to be spontaneously broken in a self-consistent Hartree-Fock approximation of BCS/NJL type to one-loop off-shell, in the gauge theory specified by the gauge kinetic function and the superpotential of adjoint chiral superfields, in particular, that possesses N=2 extended supersymmetry spontaneously broken to N=1 at tree level. The N=2 gauginos receive mixed Majorana-Dirac masses and are split. We derive an explicit form of the gap equation, showing the existence of a nontrivial solution.

Most SUSY searches at the LHC are optimised for the MSSM, where gauginos are Majorana particles. By introducing Dirac gauginos, we obtain an enriched phenomenology, from which considerable differences in the LHC signatures and limits are expected as compared to the MSSM. Concretely, in the minimal Dirac gaugino model (MDGSSM) we have six neutralino and three chargino states. Moreover, production cross sections are enhanced for gluinos, while for squarks they are suppressed. In this contribution, we explore the consequences of the current LHC limits on gluinos and squarks in this model.
We study two simple and well motivated nonuniversal gaugino mass models, which predict higgsino dark matter. One can account for the observed dark matter relic density along with the observed Higgs boson mass of ~ 125 GeV over a large region of the parameter space of each model, corresponding to higgsino mass of ~ 1 TeV. In each case this parameter region covers the gluino mass range of 2-3 TeV, parts of which can be probed by the 14 TeV LHC experiments. We study these model predictions for LHC in brief and for dark matter detection experiments in greater detail.
In SUSY models with heavy squarks and gaugino mass unification, the gaugino pair production reaction pp-> \tw_1^\pm\tz_2 dominates gluino pair production for m_{\tg}\agt 1 TeV at LHC with \sqrt{s}=14 TeV (LHC14). For this mass range, the two-body decays \tw_1\to W\tz_1 and \tz_2\to h\tz_1 are expected to dominate the chargino and neutralino branching fractions. By searching for \ell b\bar{b}+MET events from \tw_1^\pm\tz_2 production, we show that LHC14 with 100 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity becomes sensitive to chargino masses in the range m_{\tw_1}\sim 450-550 GeV corresponding to m_{\tg}\…
We have discussed the stop mass and possible signal processes within a class of SUSY GUTs with non-universal gaugino masses. This class of models predicts the stop mass in a wide range from about 400 GeV to 8 TeV, and the DM constraints bound it as $m_{\tilde{t}_{1}}\gtrsim 500$ GeV. Being the lightest supersymmetric particle the neutralino always takes part in possible signal processes, and its mass is realized as heavy as about 2.3 TeV in the fundamental parameter space. Similarly, the lightest chargino mass can be realized beyond 3 TeV, while the DM constraints bound its mass at about 2.7 T…
We analyse the prospect of extending the reach for squarks and gauginos via associated production at a $\sqrt{s} = 100$ TeV proton-proton collider, given 3 ab$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity. Depending on the gluino mass, the discovery reach for squarks in associated production with a gluino can be up to 37 TeV for compressed spectra (small gluino-LSP mass splitting), and up to 32 TeV for non-compressed spectra. The discovery reach for Winos can be up to between 3.5 and 6 TeV depending on squark masses and Wino decay kinematics. Binos of up to 1.7 TeV could similarly be discovered. Squark-gaugino…
I explore the phenomenology and models of Gauge Mediation with a mixed spectrum of Dirac and Majorana gauginos. Scalar sfermion masses are generated using a mixture of Supersoft and Minimal Gauge Mediated communication mechanisms. I build simple models where Dirac and Majorana gauginos arise from distinct SUSY breaking sectors. I explore the phenomenology of the gauge mediated parameter space, identifying candidate NLSP's and possible mass hierarchies. The phenomenological focus is on 'collider safe' models where the gluino is Dirac. Within this model space I find a range of complex SUSY spect…
In the context of supersymmetric models where the gauginos may have both Majorana and Dirac masses we investigate the general constraints from flavour-changing processes on the scalar mass matrices. One finds that the chirality-flip suppression of flavour-changing effects usually invoked in the pure Dirac case holds in the mass insertion approximation but not in the general case, and fails in particular for inverted hierarchy models. We quantify the constraints in several flavour models which correlate fermion and scalar superpartner masses. We also discuss the limit of very large Majorana gau…
We consider the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model allowing both Dirac and Majorana gauginos. The Dirac masses are obtained by pairing up extra chiral multiplets: a singlet S for U(1)_Y, a triplet T for SU(2) and an octet O for SU(3) with the respective gauginos. The electroweak symmetry breaking sector is modified by the couplings of the new fields S and T to the Higgs doublets. We discuss two limits: i) both the adjoint scalars are decoupled with the main effect being the modification of the Higgs quartic coupling; ii) the singlet remaining light, and due to its direct co…
We discuss the gluino mass in the CMSSM and Nonuniversal Gaugino Mass Models (NUGM) frameworks in light of the results from the current LHC and Dark Matter experiments. We probe the gluino mass scales by considering its decay modes into stop and top quarks, $\tilde{g}\rightarrow \tilde{t}_{1}t$ and $\tilde{g}\rightarrow \bar{t}t\tildeχ_{1}^{0}$, where $\tilde{t}_{1}t$ represents both $\tilde{t}_{1}\bar{t}$ and $\tilde{t}_{1}^{*}t$. The region with $m_{\tilde{g}} \lesssim 2$ TeV is excluded up to $68\%$ CL in the CMSSM if the gluino decays into a stop and top quark, while the $95\%$ CL exclusio…
The issue of a Majorana, Dirac or pseudo-Dirac mass for gauginos must not be reduced to a question of an extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model by extra states, parameters and phenomenological implications. On the contrary, it is intimately related to the fundamental issue of the realization of new symmetries in nature, R-symmetries. We present here a very dense compilation of the main features of models with (pseudo-)Dirac gauginos.
Two important features of TeV-scale radiative seesaw models, in which tiny neutrino masses are generated at the quantum level, are an extended scalar (Higgs) sector and the Majorana nature. We study phenomenological aspects of these models at the ILC. It is found that the Majorana nature of the models can be tested directly via the electron-positron and electron-electron collision experiments.
We compute the two-loop O(as*at) corrections to the Higgs boson masses in supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model with Dirac gaugino masses. We rely on the effective-potential technique, allow for both Dirac and Majorana mass terms for the gluinos, and compute the corrections in both the DRbar and on-shell renormalisation schemes. We give detailed results for the MDGSSM and the MRSSM, and simple approximate formulae valid in the decoupling limit for all currently-studied variants of supersymmetric models with Dirac gluinos. These results represent the first explicit two-loop calculatio…
We analyze the power of the Tevatron dataset to exclude or discover fourth generation neutrinos. In a general framework, one can have mixed left- and right-handed neutrinos, with Dirac and Majorana neutrinos as extreme cases. We demonstrate that a single Tevatron experiment can make powerful statements across the entire mixing space, extending LEP's mass limits of 60-80 GeV up to 150-175 GeV, depending on the mixing.
A general feature of TeV-scale radiative seesaw models, in which tiny neutrino masses are generated via loop corrections, is an extended scalar (Higgs) sector. Another feature is the Majorana nature; e.g., introducing right-handed neutrinos with TeV-scale Majorana masses under the discrete symmetry, or otherwise introducing some lepton number violating interactions in the scalar sector. We study phenomenological aspects of these models at collider experiments. We find that, while properties of the extended Higgs sector of these models can be explored to some extent, the Majorana nature of the …
Supersymmetric theories which can allow for a 125 GeV Higgs mass and also solve the naturalness and susy flavor problems now require a fair degree of complexity. Here we consider the simplest possibility for supersymmetry near the weak scale, but with the requirement of naturalness dropped. In "pure gravity mediation", all supersymmetric particles except for the gauginos lie at tens to thousands of TeV, with the gauginos obtaining loop suppressed masses automatically by anomaly mediation and higgsino threshold corrections. The gauginos are the lightest superpartners, and we investigate the cur…
We perform the first analysis of Dark Matter scenarios in a constrained model with Dirac Gauginos. The model under investigation is the Constrained Minimal Dirac Gaugino Supersymmetric Standard model (CMDGSSM) where the Majorana mass terms of gauginos vanish. However, $R$-symmetry is broken in the Higgs sector by an explicit and/or effective $B_μ$-term. This causes a mass splitting between Dirac states in the fermion sector and the neutralinos, which provide the dark matter candidate, become pseudo-Dirac states. We discuss two scenarios: the universal case with all scalar masses unified at the…
Now that the mass limits for gluinos have been pushed to the few-TeV range, they might only be visible at the LHC in associated production with lighter gauginos. We compute the corresponding cross section at next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) and next-to-leading order (NLO) precision in the QCD coupling constant. The resulting expressions are implemented in the public code RESUMMINO and can be directly used in the corresponding experimental searches.
Motivated by hints for a light Standard Model-like Higgs boson and a shift in experimental attention towards electroweak supersymmetry particle production at the CERN LHC, we update in this paper our precision predictions at next-to-leading order of perturbative QCD matched to resummation at the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy for direct gaugino pair production in proton-proton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. Tables of total cross sections are presented together with the corresponding scale and parton density uncertainties for benchmark points adopted recently by the exp…
Discovery of the Higgs boson and lack of discovery of superpartners in the first run at LHC are both predictions of split supersymmetry with thermal dark matter. We discuss what it would take to find gluinos at hadron supercolliders, including the LHC at 14 TeV center of mass energy, and future pp colliders at 100 TeV and 200 TeV. We generalize the discussion by re-expressing the search capacity in terms of gluino to lightest superpartner mass ratio, and apply results to other scenarios, such as gauge mediation and mirage mediation.
We present a first precision analysis of the transverse-momentum spectrum of gaugino pairs produced at the Tevatron and the LHC with center-of-mass energies of 1.96 and 10 or 14 TeV, respectively. Our calculation is based on a universal resummation formalism at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy, which is consistently matched to the perturbative prediction at ${\cal O}(α_s)$. Numerical results are given for the "gold-plated" associated production of neutralinos and charginos decaying into three charged leptons with missing transverse energy as well as for the pair production of neutralinos a…
We investigate the leptophilic properties of Dirac gauginos in an R--symmetric N=2 supersymmetric model with extended gauge and Higgs sectors. The annihilation of Dirac gauginos to leptons requires no chirality flip in the final states so that it is not suppressed as in the Majorana case. This implies that it can be sizable enough to explain the positron excess observed by the PAMELA experiment with moderate or no boost factors. When squark masses are heavy, the annihilation of Dirac gauginos to hadrons is controlled by their Higgsino fraction and is driven by the $hZ$ and $W^+W^-$ final state…
We discuss prospects of studying supersymmetric model at future $pp$ circular collider (FCC) with its centre-of-mass energy of $\sim 100\ {\rm TeV}$. We pay particular attention to the model in which Wino is lighter than other supersymmetric particles and all the gauginos are within the kinematical reach of the FCC, which is the case in a large class of so-called pure gravity mediation model based on anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking. In such a class of model, charged Wino becomes long-lived with its decay length of $\sim 6\ {\rm cm}$, and the charged Wino tracks may be identified in par…
We consider the modifications to squark production in the presence of a naturally heavier Dirac gluino. First generation squark production is highly suppressed, providing an interesting but challenging signal find or rule out. No dedicated searches for supersymmetry with a Dirac gluino have been performed, however a reinterpretation of a "decoupled gluino" simplified model suggests the bounds on a common first and second generation squark mass is much smaller than in the MSSM: $\lsim 850$ GeV for a massless LSP, and no bound for an LSP heavier than about 300 GeV. We compare and contrast the sq…
We show that upper bounds on the masses for gluino, squarks and higgsino are $m_{gluino} \le 5.5$ TeV, $m_{squark} \le 4.7$ TeV and $m_{higgsino} \le 650$ GeV in a focus point gaugino mediation. Here, we impose a mild fine tuning $Δ\le 100$. This result shows that it is very challenging for the LHC to exclude the focus point gaugino mediation with the mild fine tuning. However, the ILC may have a potential for excluding the focus point gaugino mediation with such a mild fine tuning. It is also shown that vector-like matters reduce the required masses of the squark (stop) and gluino to explain …
It is shown that the Majorana nature of the heavy neutrinos $N_j$ having masses in the range of $M_j \sim (100 - 1000)$ GeV and present in the TeV scale type I and inverse see-saw scenarios of neutrino mass generation, is unlikely to be observable in the currently operating and future planned accelerator experiments (including LHC) due to the existence of very strong constraints on the parameters and couplings responsible for the corresponding $|ΔL| = 2$ processes, $L$ being the total lepton charge. If the heavy Majorana neutrinos $N_j$ are observed and they are associated only with the type I…
The 750 GeV diphoton excess reported by ATLAS and CMS indicates the presence of several pairs of the vector-like matter multiplets around TeV scale. If that is the case, radiative corrections from the $SU(3)$ gauge interaction significantly change from those of MSSM, and the infrared-free nature of the gauge interaction leads to characteristic SUSY mass spectra: a ratio of a squark mass to the gluino mass, and scalar trilinear couplings are enhanced at the low-energy scale. Consequently, even in gaugino mediation models, the Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV is explained with the fairly light gluino…
We discuss the SUSY dark matter phenomenology in some simple and predictive models of nonuniversal gaugino masses at the GUT scale. Assuming the gaugino masses to transform as a sum of singlet and a nonsinglet representation of the GUT group SU(5), one can evade the LEP constraints to access the bulk annihilation region of the bino dark matter relic density. Besides, with this assumption one can also have a mixed gaugino-higgsino dark matter, giving the right relic density over large parts of the parameter space. We consider the model predictions for LHC and dark matter experiments in both the…
Supersymmetric models with Dirac instead of Majorana gaugino masses have distinct phenomenological consequences. In this paper, we investigate the electroweakino sector of the Minimal Dirac Gaugino Supersymmetric Standard Model (MDGSSM) with regards to dark matter (DM) and collider constraints. We delineate the parameter space where the lightest neutralino of the MDGSSM is a viable DM candidate, that makes for at least part of the observed relic abundance while evading constraints from DM direct detection, LEP and lowenergy data, and LHC Higgs measurements. The collider phenomenology of the th…
Motivated by the recent excess in the diphoton invariant mass near 750 GeV, we explore a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model that includes the minimal set of superpartners as well as additional Dirac partner chiral superfields in the adjoint representation for each gauge group. The bino partner pseudoscalar is identified as the 750 GeV resonance, while superpotential interactions between it and the gluino (wino) partners yield production via gluon fusion (decay to photon pairs) at one-loop. The gauginos and these additional adjoint superpartners are married by a Dirac mass and must …
A simple extension of the Standard Model providing TeV scale seesaw mechanism is presented. Beside the Standard Model particles and right-handed Majorana neutrinos, the model contains a singly charged scalar, an extra Higgs doublet and three vector like singly charged fermions. In our model, Dirac neutrino mass matrix raises only at the loop level. Small but non-zero Majorana neutrino masses come from integrating out heavy Majorana neutrinos, which can be at the TeV scale. The phenomenologies of the model are investigated, including scalar mass spectrum, neutrino masses and mixings, lepton fla…
We review the phenomenology of SUSY dark matter in various versions of MSSM, with universal and nonuniversal gaugino masses at the GUT scale. We start with the universal case (CMSSM), where the cosmologically compatible dark matter relic density is achieved only over some narrow regions of parameter space, involving some fine-tuning. Moreover, most of these regions are seriously challenged by the constraints from collider and direct dark matter detection experiments. Then we consider some simple and predictive nonuniversal gaugino mass models, based on SU(5) GUT. Several of these models offer …
Rather general considerations from the string theory landscape suggest a statistical preference within the multiverse for soft SUSY breaking terms as large as possible subject to a pocket universe value for the weak scale not greater than a factor of 2-5 from our measured value. Within the gravity/moduli-mediated SUSY breaking framework, the Higgs mass is pulled to m_h~ 125 GeV while first/second generation scalars are pulled to tens of TeV scale and gauginos and third generation scalars remain at the few TeV range. In this case, one then expects comparable moduli- and anomaly-mediated contrib…
Relatively light electroweak superparticle masses are required to satisfy the bulk annihilation region of dark matter relic density and account for the observed excess of muon g-2, while TeV scale squark and gluino masses are required to account for the 125 GeV Higgs boson mass and the negative SUSY search results from LHC. These two sets of requirements can be reconciled in a simple nonuniversal gaugino mass model, which assumes SUSY breaking via a combination of two superfields belonging to the singlet and the 200-plet representations of the GUT group SU(5). The model can be probed via squar…
In supersymmetry (SUSY) models with low electroweak naturalness (natSUSY), which have been suggested to be the most likely version of SUSY to emerge from the string landscape, higgsinos are expected at the few hundred GeV scale whilst electroweak gauginos inhabit the TeV scale. For TeV-scale heavy neutral SUSY Higgs bosons H and A, as currently required by LHC searches, then the dominant decay modes of H, A are into gaugino plus higgsino provided these decays are kinematically open. The light higgsinos decay to soft particles so are largely invisible whilst the gauginos decay to W, Z or h plus…
Gaugino mediation is very attractive since it is free from the serious flavor problem in the supersymmetric standard model. We show that the observed Higgs boson mass at around 125 GeV and the anomaly of the muon g-2 can be easily explained in gaugino mediation models. It should be noted that no dangerous CP violating phases are generated in our framework. Furthermore, there are large parameter regions which can be tested not only at the planned International Linear Collider but also at the coming 13-14 TeV Large Hadron Collider.
