We compute the flat coordinates on the Frobenius manifolds arising on the deformation space of Gepner $\hat{SU}(3)_k$ chiral rings. The explicit form of the flat coordinates is important for exact solutions of models of topological CFT and 2d Liouville gravity. We describe the case k=3, which is of particular interest because apart from the relevant chiral fields it contains a marginal one. Whereas marginal perturbations are relevant in different contexts, their analysis requires additional care compared to the relevant perturbations.
We study D-branes in Kazama-Suzuki models by means of the boundary state description. We can identify the boundary states of Kazama-Suzuki models with the solitons in N=2 Landau-Ginzburg theories. We also propose a geometrical interpretation of the boundary states in Kazama-Suzuki models.
Kazama-Suzuki coset models is an interesting class of N=2 supersymmetric models of conformal field theory which are used to build realistic models of superstring in 4 dimensions. We formulate Kazama-Suzuki construction of N=2 superconformal coset models using more general language of Manin triples and represent the corresponding N=2 Virasoro superalgebra currents in explicit form. A correspondence between the Kazama-Suzuki models and Poisson homogeneous spaces is established also.
We investigate boundary states of D-branes wrapped around supersymmetric cycles in Kazama--Suzuki models. We show that the geometry of the D-branes corresponds to a generalisation of calibrated geometry. We comment on the link with the geometry of the coset space and discuss how T-duality maps between these boundary states.
Domain walls in N=1 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory conjecturally support topological degrees of freedom at low energy. Domain wall junctions are thus expected to support gapless degrees of freedom. We propose a natural candidate for the low-energy description of such junctions.
The large level limit of the $\mathcal{N}=2$ ${\rm SO}(2N)$ Kazama-Suzuki coset models is argued to be equivalent to the orbifold of $4N$ free fermions and bosons by the Lie group ${\rm SO}(2N) \times {\rm SO}(2)$. In particular, it is shown that the untwisted sector of the continuous orbifold accounts for a certain closed subsector of the coset theory. Furthermore, the ground states of the twisted sectors are identified with specific coset representations, and this identification is checked by various independent arguments.
Moddings by cyclic permutation symmetries are performed in 4-dimensional strings, built up from N=2 coset models of the type $CP_m=SU(m+1)/SU(m)\times U(1)$. For some exemplifying cases, the massless chiral and antichiral states of $E_6$ are computed. The extent of the equivalence between different conformal invariant theories which possess equal chiral rings is analyzed.
Limits of families of conformal field theories are of interest in the context of AdS/CFT dualities. We explore here the large level limit of the two-dimensional N=(2,2) superconformal W_{n+1} minimal models that appear in the context of the supersymmetric higher-spin AdS3/CFT2 duality. These models are constructed as Kazama-Suzuki coset models of the form SU(n+1)/U(n). We determine a family of boundary conditions in the limit theories, and use the modular bootstrap to obtain the full bulk spectrum of N=2 super-W_{n+1} primaries in the theory. We also confirm the identification of this limit th…
We study global aspects of N=2 Kazama-Suzuki coset models by investigating topological G/H Kazama-Suzuki models in a Lagrangian framework based on gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten models. We first generalize Witten's analysis of the holomorphic factorization of bosonic G/H models to models with N=1 and N=2 supersymmetry. We also find some new anomaly-free and supersymmetric models based on non-diagonal embeddings of the gauge group. We then explain the basic properties (action, symmetries, metric independence, ...) of the topologically twisted G/H Kazama-Suzuki models. We explain how all of the above…
We study the $N = 2$ coset models in their formulation as supersymmetric gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten models. A model based on the coset $G/H$ is invariant under a symmetry group isomorphic to $\Z_{k+Q}$, where $k$ is the level of the model and $Q$ is the dual Coxeter number of $G$. Using a duality-like relationship, we show that the $\Z_m$ orbifold of the vectorially gauged model and the $\Z_{\tilde{m}}$ orbifold of the axially gauged model are each others mirror partners when $m \tilde{m} = k + Q$.
We investigate in detail the topological gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten models describing topological Kazama-Suzuki models based on complex Grassmannians. We show that there is a topological sector in which the ring of observables (constructed from the Grassmann odd scalars of the theory) coincides with the classical cohomology ring of the Grassmannian for all values of the level k. We perform a detailed analysis of the non-trivial topological sectors arising from the adjoint gauging, and investigate the general ring structure of bosonic correlation functions, uncovering a whole hierarchy of level-…
We construct Cardy states in the Kazama-Suzuki model G/H x U(1), which satisfy the boundary condition twisted by the automorphisms of the coset theory. We classify all the automorphisms of G/H x U(1) induced from those of the G theory. The automorphism group contains at least a Z_2 as a subgroup corresponding to the charge conjugation. We show that in several models there exist extra elements other than the charge conjugation and that the automorphism group can be larger than Z_2. We give the explicit form of the twisted Cardy states which are associated with the non-trivial automorphisms. It …
We consider N=2 Kazama-Suzuki model on CP^N=SU(N+1)/SU(N)xU(1). It is known that the N=2 current algebra for the supersymmetric WZW model, at level k, is a nonlinear algebra. The N=2 W_3 algebra corresponding to N=2 was recovered from the generalized GKO coset construction previously. For N=4, we construct one of the higher spin currents, in N=2 W_5 algebra, with spins (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3). The self-coupling constant in the operator product expansion of this current and itself depends on N as well as k explicitly. We also observe a new higher spin primary current of spins (3, 7/2, 7/2, 4). From th…
The N=3 Kazama-Suzuki model at the `critical' level has been found by Creutzig, Hikida and Ronne. We construct the lowest higher spin currents of spins (3/2, 2,2,2,5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) in terms of various fermions. In order to obtain the operator product expansions (OPEs) between these higher spin currents, we describe three N=2 OPEs between the two N=2 higher spin currents denoted by (3/2, 2, 2, 5/2) and (2, 5/2, 5/2, 3) (corresponding 36 OPEs in the component approach). Using the various Jacobi identities, the coefficient functions appearing on the right hand side of these N=2 OPEs are determin…
We investigate defects between supersymmetric Landau-Ginzburg models whose superpotentials are related by a variable transformation. It turns out that there is one natural defect, which can then be used to relate boundary conditions and defects in the different models. In particular this defect can be used to relate Grassmannian Kazama-Suzuki models and minimal models, and one can generate rational boundary conditions in the Kazama-Suzuki models from those in minimal models. The defects that appear here are closely related to the defects that are used in Khovanov-Rozansky link homology.
We investigate a noncompact Gepner model, which is composed of a number of SL(2,R)/U(1) Kazama-Suzuki models and N=2 minimal models. The SL(2,R)/U(1) Kazama-Suzuki model contains the discrete series among the SL(2,R) unitary representations as well as the continuous series. We claim that the discrete series contain the vanishing cohomology and the vanishing cycles of the associated noncompact Calabi-Yau manifold. We calculate the Elliptic genus and the open string Witten indices. In the A_{N-1} ALE models, they actually agree with the vanishing cohomology and the intersection form of the vanis…
The transformation properties of the N=2 Virasoro superalgebra generators under Poisson-Lie T-duality in (2,2)-superconformal WZNW and Kazama-Suzuki models is considered. It is shown that Poisson-Lie T-duality acts on the N=2 super-Virasoro algebra generators as a mirror symmetry does: it unchanges the generators from one of the chirality sectors while in another chirality sector it changes the sign of U(1) current and interchanges spin-3/2 currents. We discuss Kazama-Suzuki models generalization of this transformation and show that Poisson-Lie T-duality acts as a mirror symmetry also.
We study the problem of constructing N=2 superconformal algebras out of an N=1 affine Lie algebra. Following a recent independent observation of Getzler and the author, we derive a simplified set of N=2 master equations, which we then proceed to solve for the case of sl(2). There is a unique construction for all noncritical values of the level, which can be identified as the Kazama-Suzuki coset associated to the hermitian symmetric space SO(3)/SO(2). We also identify the construction with a generalized parafermionic construction or, after bosonization, with a bosonic construction of the type a…
Expressions are given for the elliptic genera of the Kazama-Suzuki models associated with hermitian symmetric spaces when the problems of field identifications are absent. We use the models' known Coulomb gas descriptions.
The charges of D-branes in Kazama-Suzuki coset models are analyzed. We provide the calculation of the corresponding twisted equivariant K-theory, and in the case of Grassmannian cosets, su(n+1)/u(n), compare this to the charge lattices that are derived from boundary conformal field theory.
We compute branching functions of $G/H$ coset models using a BRST invariant branching function formulae, i.e. a branching function that respects a BRST invariance of the model. This ensures that only the coset degrees of freedom will propagate. We consider $G/H$ for rank$(G/H)=0$ models which includes the Kazama-Suzuki construction, and $G_{k_1}\times G_{k_2}/G_{k_1+k_2}$ models. Our calculations here confirm in part previous results for those models which have been obtained under an assumption in a free field approach. We also consider $G_{k_1}\times H_{k_2}/H_{k_1+k_2}$, where $H$ is a subgr…
We study the modular invariance of $N=2$ superconformal $SU(1,1)$ models. By decomposing the characters of Kazama-Suzuki model $SU(3)/(SU(2)\times U(1))$ into an infinite sum of the characters of $(SU(1,1)/U(1))\times U(1)$ we construct modular invariant partition functions of $(SU(1,1)/U(1))\times U(1)$.
For the N=2 Kazama-Suzuki models that appear in the duality with a higher spin theory on AdS_3 it is shown that the large level limit can be interpreted as a continuous orbifold of 2N free bosons and fermions by the group U(N). In particular, we show that the subset of coset representations that correspond to the perturbative higher spin degrees of freedom are precisely described by the untwisted sector of this U(N) orbifold. We furthermore identify the twisted sector ground states of the orbifold with specific coset representations, and give various pieces of evidence in favour of this identi…
We consider the problem of computing N=2 superconformal block functions. We argue that the Kazama-Suzuki coset realization of N=2 superconformal algebra in terms of the affine sl(2) algebra provides relations between N=2 and affine sl(2) conformal blocks. We show that for N=2 chiral fields the corresponding sl(2) construction of the conformal blocks is based on the ordinary highest weight representation. We use an AGT-type correspondence to relate the four-point sl(2) conformal block with Nekrasov's instanton partition functions of a four-dimensional N=2 SU(2) gauge theory in the presence of a…
It was shown in \cite{DVV} for $2d$ topological Conformal field theory (TCFT) \cite{EY,W} and more recently in \cite{BSZ}-\cite{BB2} for the non-critical String theory \cite{P}-\cite{BAlZ} that a number of models of these two types can be exactly solved using their connection with the Frobenius manifold (FM) structure introduced by Dubrovin\cite{Dub}. More precisely these models are connected with a special case of FMs, so called Saito Frobenius manifolds (SFM)\cite{Saito} (originally called Flat structure together with the Flat coordinate system), which arise on the space of the versal deform…
