Resonant production of color octet electron, e_{8}, at the FCC based ep colliders has been analyzed. It is shown that e-FCC will cover much a wider region of e_{8} masses compared to the LHC. Moreover, with highest electron beam energy, e_{8} search potential of the e-FCC exceeds that of FCC pp collider. If e_{8} is discovered earlier by the FCC pp collider, e-FCC will give opportunity to handle very important additional information. For example, compositeness scale can be probed up to hundreds TeV region.
We investigate the resonant production of color octet muons in order to explore the discovery potential of the FCC-based μp colliders. It is shown that search potential of μp colliders essentially surpass potential of the LHC and would exceed that of FCC pp collider.
Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders close to Future Circular Collider will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. In this paper we estimate main parameters of the FCC based ep and μp colliders.
Construction of the ERLC (twin LC) collider tangential to LHC or FCC will give opportunity to realize ep collisions at multi-TeV center-of-mass energies. Luminosity estimations show that values well exceeding 10^34 cm^-2s^-1 can be achieved for HL-LHC, HE-LHC and FCC based ep colliders. Certainly, proposed ep colliders have great potential for clarifying QCD basics and new physics search in addition to providing precise PDFs for adequate interpretation of LHC and FCC experimental data.
Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders (or dedicated muon ring) tangential to Future Circular Collider (FCC) will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. Luminosity values of FCC based ep, \mup, eA, \muA, \gammap and \gammaA colliders are estimated. Multi-TeV center of mass energy ep colliders based on the FCC and linear colliders (LC) are considered in detail. Parameters of upgraded versions of the FCC proton beam are determined to optimize luminosity of ele…
Resonant production of leptogluons at the FCC based ep and \mup colliders have been analyzed. It is shown that e-FCC and μ-FCC will cover much wider region of e_{8} and μ_{8} masses than the LHC. While leptogluons with appropriate masses (if exist) will be discovered earlier by the FCC pp collider, lepton-proton colliders will give opportunity to handle very important additional information. For example, compositeness scale can be probed up to multi-hundred TeV region.
Lepton-hadron colliders that use a proton or nucleus beam of current and future hadron colliders and let it collide with an electron beam from a newly built electron accelerator bring attractive physics programs which are strong and complementary to the hadron collider physics. Machine development for Energy Recovery LINAC and physics performance studies of such electron-hadron colliders, specifically the LHeC that uses the existing LHC beam and FCC-eh that is an option of Future Circular Collider program, are ongoing and reviewed in this article.
Construction of the ERLC (twin LC) collider tangential to LHC or FCC will give opportunity to realize eA collisions at multi-TeV center-of-mass energies. Luminosity estimations show that values comparable with that of ERL60 based eA colliders are achievable while center of mass energies are essentially higher. Certainly, proposed eA colliders have great potential for clarifying QCD basics and nuclear structure.
It has recently been suggested that gauge invariance forbids the coupling of a massive color-octet vector meson to two gluons. While this is true for operators in an effective Lagrangian of dimension four or less, we demonstrate that dimension six interactions will lead to such couplings. In the case of technicolor, the result is a technirho-gluon-gluon coupling comparable to the naive vector meson dominance estimate, but with a substantial uncertainty. This has implications for several recent studies of technicolor phenomenology.
The future FCC-ee collider is designed to deliver $\mathrm{e^+e^-}$ collisions to study with ultimate precision the Z, W, and Higgs bosons, and the top quark. In a high-statistics scan around the Z pole, $1.3\times 10^{11}$ events $\mathrm{Z}\toττ$ will be produced, the largest sample of $ττ$ events foreseen at any lepton collider. With their large boost, $τ$ leptons from Z decays are particularly well suited for precision measurements. The focus of this report is on tests of lepton universality from precision measurement of $\boldsymbolτ$ properties and on tests of charged lepton flavour viol…
In this study we investigated indirect manifestations of color octet electron at the next generation linear colliders: International Linear Collider (ILC) and Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). Namely, production of two gluons via color octet electron exchange is considered. Signal and background analysis have been performed taking into account initial state radiation and beamstrahlung. We show that color octet electron (e_(8)) manifestation will be seen upto M(e_(8))=1.75 TeV and 1.70 TeV at ILC and CLIC with sqrt(s)=0.5 TeV, respectively. CLIC with sqrt(s)=3 TeV will be sensitive upto M(e_(8))=…
Now that the mass of the Higgs boson is known, circular electron positron colliders, able to measure the properties of these particles with high accuracy, are receiving considerable attention. Design studies have been launched (i) at CERN with the Future Circular Colliders (FCC), of which an e+e- collider is a potential first step (FCC-ee, formerly caller TLEP) and (ii) in China with the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC). Hosted in a tunnel of at least 50 km (CEPC) or 80-100 km (FCC), both projects can deliver very high luminosity from the Z peak to HZ threshold (CEPC) and even to the…
Several Beyond the Standard Model theories are proposed that fermions might have composite substructure. The existence of excited quarks is going to be the noticeable proof for the compositeness of Standard Model fermions. For this reason, excited quarks have been investigated by phenomenological and experimental high energy physicists at various collider options for the last few decades. The Future Circular Collider (FCC) has been recently planned as particle accelerator to be established at CERN. Beside the $\sqrt{s}$ = 100 TeV proton-proton collisions, the FCC includes electron-positron and…
We study the phenomena of spin rotation and depolarization of high-energy particles in crystals in the range of high energies that will be available at Hadron Collider (LHC) and Future Circular Collider (FCC). It is shown that these phenomena can be used to measure the anomalous magnetic moments of short-lived particles in this range of energies. We also demonstrate that the phenomenon of particle spin depolarization in crystals provides a unique possibility of measuring the anomalous magnetic moment of negatively-charged particles (e.g., beauty baryons), for which the channeling effect is ham…
We propose the color-octet mechanism combined with the two gluon exchange model for the diffractive $J/ψ$ production in hadron collisions. In the leading logarithmic approximation (LLA) in QCD, we find that the diffractive $J/ψ$ production rate is related to the off-diagonal gluon density in the proton and to the nonperturbative color-octet matrix element of $J/ψ$. The rate is found to be very sensitive to the gluon density at very small values of $x$ (down to $x=O(10^{-6})$). As a result, this process may provide a wide window for testing the two-gluon exchange model, and may be particularly …
We study $J/Ψ$ production at photon-photon colliders, which can be realised with Compton scaterring of laser photons at $e^+e^-$ colliders. We find that the production rate through the color-octet channel is comparable to that through the color-singlet channel. Experimentally the two mechanisms can be studied separately because the processes have different signals.
Color-octet resonances arise in many well motivated theories beyond the standard model. As colored objects they are produced copiously at the LHC and can be discovered in early searches for new physics in dijet final states. Once they are discovered it will be important to measure the couplings of the new resonances to determine the underlying theoretical structure. We propose a new channel, associated production of $W,Z$ gauge bosons and color-octet resonances, to help determine the chiral structure of the couplings. We present our analysis for a range of color-octet masses (2.5 to 4.5 TeV), …
We analyze collider signatures of massive color-octet bosons whose couplings to quarks are suppressed. Gauge invariance forces the octets to couple at tree level only in pairs to gluons, with a strength set by the QCD gauge coupling. For a spin-1 octet, the cross section for pair production at hadron colliders is larger than that for a quark of equal mass. The octet decays into two jets, leading to a 4-jet signature with two pairs of jets forming resonances of the same mass. For a spin-0 octet the cross section is smaller, and the dominant decay is into b\bar{b}, or t\bar{t} if kinematically a…
We present the results of our analysis on charmonia ($J/ψ$ and $ψ'$) hadroproduction taking into account higher-order QCD effects induced by initial-state radiation in a Monte Carlo framework, with the colour-octet mechanism implemented in the event generation. We find that those colour-octet matrix elements extracted so far from Fermilab Tevatron data for both $J/ψ$ and $ψ'$ production have to be lowered significantly. We finally make predictions for charmonia production at the LHC, presenting a code for a fast simulation with PYTHIA based on the colour-octet model.
Rare flavour-changing neutral-current transitions $b \to s μ^+ μ^-$ probe higher energy scales than what is directly accessible at the LHC. Therefore, the presence of new physics in such transitions, as suggested by the present-day LHCb anomalies, would have a major impact on the motivation and planning of future high-energy colliders. The two most prominent options currently debated are a proton-proton collider at 100 TeV (FCC-hh) and a multi-TeV muon collider (MuC). In this work, we compare the discovery prospects at these colliders on benchmark new physics models indirectly detectable in $b…
We study the excited muon production at the FCC based muon-hadron colliders. We give the excited muon decay widths and production cross section. We deal with the $μp\rightarrowμ^{\star}q\rightarrowμγq$ process and we plot the transverse momentum, rapidity and invariant mass distributions of final state particles to get the discovery cuts. By using discovery cuts, we get the mass limits for excited muons. It is shown that the discovery limits on the mass of $μ^{\star}$ are 2.2 TeV, 5.9 TeV and 7.5 TeV for $\mu63$-FCC, $\mu750$-FCC and $\mu1500$-FCC, respectively.
We investigate $J/ψ$ production at a Photon Linear Collider (PLC) in the framework of NRQCD factorization approach. It was shown that color octet contribution is dominating in charmonium production at PLC. The main fraction of $J/ψ$ comes from the single and double resolved photon processes. Expected cross sections of charmonium states production are large enough even at $p_T>5$ GeV to expect several hundreds of $J/ψ$'s through the leptonic decays channel for a projected integral PLC luminosity of $50 fb^{-1}$}
The next generation of circular high energy collider is expected to be a lepton collider, FCC-ee at CERN or CEPC in China. However, the civil engineering concepts foresee to equip these colliders with bigger detector caverns than one would need for a lepton collider, so that they can be used for a hadron collider that may be installed in the same tunnel without further civil engineering. This opens up the possibility to install extra instrumentation at the cavern walls to search for new long-lived particles at the lepton collider. We use the example of heavy neutral leptons to show that such a…
As a high energy e-p collider, FCC-he, has been recently proposed with sufficient energy options to investigate Higgs couplings. To analyse the sensitivity on the Higgs boson couplings, we focus spesifically on the CP-even and CP-odd Wilson coefficients with $hhZZ\:$and $hhγγ\:$ four-point interactions of Higgs boson with Effective Lagrangian Model through the process $e^{-}p\to hhje^{-}$ . We simulate the related processes in FCC-he, with 60 GeV and 120 GeV $e^{-}$ beams and 50 TeV proton beam collisions. We present the exclusion limits on these couplings both for 68% and 95% C.L. in terms of…
Future Circular Collider is one of the next generation energy-frontier proton-proton colliders with 100 TeV center of mass energy and promising very high luminosity. FCC will be an extraordinary machine for searching Beyond the Standard Model physics because of its very high center of mass energy and luminosity. Searching supersymmetric particles via R-parity violated interactions could be listed in promising BSM physics at the FCC. Scalar tau neutrino is one of the most interesting predictions. A search for $\widetildeν_τ$ neutrino decaying into $eμ$ final state via R-parity violated interact…
Di-jet resonance searches are simple, yet powerful and model-independent, probes for discovering new particles at hadron colliders. Once such a resonance has been discovered it is important to determine the mass, spin, couplings, chiral behavior and color properties to determine the underlying theoretical structure. We propose a new variable which, in the absence of decays of the resonance into new non-standard states, distinguishes between color-octet and color-singlet resonances. To keep our study widely applicable we study phenomenological models of color-octet and color-singlet resonances …
With an eye toward the precision physics of the LHC, FCC-ee and possible high energy muon colliders, we present the extension of the CEEX (coherent exclusive exponentiation) realization of the YFS approach to resummation in our KK MC to include the processes f\bar{f}\rightarrow f'\bar{f'}, f=μ,τ, q,ν_\ell, f'=e, μ,τ, q, ν_\ell, q=u,d,s,c,b,t, \ell =e,μ,τwith f \ne f'. After giving a brief summary of the CEEX theory with reference to the older EEX (exclusive exponentiation) theory, we illustrate theoretical results relevant to the LHC, FCC-ee, and possible muon collider physics programs.
The Future Circular Collider (FCC-hh) is a proposed successor of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). FCC-hh would push both the energy and intensity frontiers of searches for new physics particles. In particular, due to higher energy and luminosity than at the LHC, at FCC-hh there would be produced around $\simeq\!30$ times larger amount of $B$ mesons and $\simeq 120$ times of $W$ bosons, which then may decay into feebly interacting particles. In this paper we demonstrate the potential of FCC-hh by studying its sensitivity to heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) with masses $m_{N}<m_{B}$. We consider var…
The future lepton colliders proposed for the High Energy and Precision Frontier set stringent demands on theory. The most ambitious, broad-reaching and demanding project is the FCC-ee. We consider here the present status and requirements on precision calculations, possible ways forward and novel methods, to match the experimental accuracies expected at the FCC-ee. We conclude that the challenge can be tackled by a distributed collaborative effort in academic institutions around the world, provided sufficient support, which is estimated to about 500 man-years over the next 20 years.
Potential discovery, observation and exclusion limits of excited $u$ and $d$ quarks with gamma+jet final state are researched at the multi-TeV scale colliders, FCC and S$pp$C in this work. Both colliders, FCC and S$pp$C, show that excited $u$ and $d$ quarks could be discovered up to 42.1 TeV and 55.2 TeV for $u^\star$, 30.3 TeV and 39.4 TeV for $d^\star$ and 42.3 TeV and 55.5 TeV mass values for degenerate case (m$_{u^\star}$ = m$_{d^\star}$), respectively. Determination of excited quarks compositeness scale is examined, which will be up to multi-PeV level. Beside these analysis, free paramete…
Indirect search for color octet electron at Plasma Wake Field Accelerator- Linear Collider (PWFA-LC) has been considered. It is shown that color octet electron masses can be probed up to 17.7 TeV at PWFA-LC with three years integrated luminosity. In addition, the compositeness scale can be probed up to 38.5 TeV.
This paper completes the study of the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to massive color-octet vector boson production at the LHC and Tevatron. The massive color-octet vector bosons are generically referred to as colorons. Building on our previous calculation of quark-initiated coloron production at NLO, we use the pinch technique to investigate coloron production via gluon fusion. We demonstrate that this one-loop production amplitude is finite, and find that its numerical contribution to coloron production is typically four orders of magnitude smaller than the contribution from qua…
We address the potential of measurements with boosted single-top final states at the high-luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and possible future hadron colliders: the high-energy LHC (HE-LHC), and the future circular collider (FCC). As new physics examples to assess the potential, we consider the search for $tbW$ anomalous couplings and for a weakly-coupled $W'$ boson. The FCC would improve by a factor of two the sensitivity to anomalous couplings of the HL-LHC. For $W'$ bosons, the FCC is sensitive to $W'$ couplings $2-5$ times smaller than the HL-LHC in the mass range 2-4 TeV, and to masses up to 30 Te…
A 100 TeV pp collider is under consideration, by the high-energy physics community, as an important step for the future development of our field, following the completion of the LHC and High-luminosity LHC physics programmes. In particular, CERN is considering 100 TeV pp collisions as the key target of a Future Circular Collider facility, built around a 100 km tunnel and designed to deliver pp, e+e- and ep collisions, in addition to a programme with heavy ion beams and with the injector complex. CERN is coordinating an international study tasked with the completion, by the end of 2018, of a Co…
We analyze the prospects of observing relatively light charged Higgs bosons ($h^{\pm}$) in their decays via $h^{-} \to s \bar c + s \bar u$ at the upcoming Future Circular Collider in hadron-electron mode (FCC-eh) with $\sqrt s \approx 3.5$ TeV. Assuming that the intermediate Higgs boson ($h_2$) is Standard Model (SM)-like, we study the production of $e^- b \to ν_e h^{-} b$ (also $b$ could be $\bar b$ in both initial and final states) in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We consider constraints from Dark Matter (DM), super-particle and the Higgs boson …
Many of the new physics models predicts a light Higgs boson similar to the Higgs boson of the Standard Model (SM) and also extra scalar bosons. Beyond the search channels for a SM Higgs boson, the future collider experiments will explore additional channels that are specific to extended Higgs sectors. We study the charged Higgs boson production within the framework of two Higgs doublet models (THDM) in the proton-proton collisions at the FCC-hh collider. With an integrated luminosity of 500 fb$^{-1}$ at very high energy frontier, we obtain a significant coverage of the parameter space and dist…
Several models predict the existence of heavy colored resonances decaying to top quarks in the TeV energy range that might be discovered at the LHC. In some of those models, moreover, a sizable charge asymmetry of top versus antitop quarks might be generated. The detection of these exotic resonances, however, requires selecting data samples where the top and the antitop quarks are highly boosted, which is experimentally very challenging. We asses that the measurement of the top quark charge asymmetry at the LHC is very sensitive to the existence of excited states of the gluon with axial-vector…
The design study of the Future Circular Colliders (FCC) in a 100-km ring in the Geneva area has started at CERN at the beginning of 2014, as an option for post-LHC particle accelerators. The study has an emphasis on proton-proton and electron-positron high-energy frontier machines. In the current plans, the first step of the FCC physics programme would exploit a high-luminosity e+e- collider called FCC-ee, with centre-of-mass energies ranging from below the Z pole to the t-tbar threshold and beyond, followed by 100\,TeV proton-proton collisions as ultimate goal. When combined, these two steps …
We study composite electron production at the FCC-based three electron-proton colliders with the center-of-mass energies of $3.46$, $10$ and $31.6$ TeV. For the signal process of $ep\rightarrow e^{\star}X\rightarrow eγX$ , the production cross-sections and decay widhts of the excited electrons have been calculated. The differences of some kinematical quantities of the final state particles between the signal and background have been analyzed. For this purpose, transverse momentum and pseudorapidity distributions of electron and photon have been obtained and the kinematical cuts for discovery o…
We explore the indirect sensitivities to decoupled new physics of prospective precision electroweak measurements, triple-gauge-coupling measurements and Higgs physics at future $e^+e^-$ colliders, with emphasis on the ILC250 and FCC-ee. The Standard Model effective field theory (SM EFT) is adopted as a model-independent approach for relating experimental precision projections to the scale of new physics, and we present prospective constraints on the Wilson coefficients of dimension-6 operators. We find that in a marginalised fit ILC250 EWPT measurements may be sensitive to new physics scales $…
The production potential of the excited neutrinos at the FCC-based electron-hadron colliders, namely the ERL60$\otimes$FCC with $\sqrt{s}=3.46$ TeV, the ILC$\otimes$FCC with $\sqrt{s}=10$ TeV, and the PWFA-LC$\otimes$FCC with $\sqrt{s}=31.6$ TeV, has been analyzed. The branching ratios of the excited neutrinos have been calculated for the different decay channels and shown that the dominant channel is $ν^{\star}\rightarrow eW^{+}$. We have calculated the production cross sections with the process of $ep\rightarrowν^{\star}q\rightarrow eW^{+}q$ and the decay widths of the excited neutrinos with…
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is a post-LHC project aiming at searches for physics beyond the SM in a new 80--100~km tunnel at CERN. Running in its first phase as a very-high-luminosity electron-positron collider (FCC-ee), it will provide unique possibilities for indirect searches of new phenomena through high-precision tests of the SM. In addition, by collecting tens of ab$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity in the range of center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$~=90--350~GeV, the FCC-ee also offers unique physics opportunities for precise measurements of QCD phenomena and of photon-photon collision…

In this article, we explore the possibility of displaced Higgs production from the decays of the heavy fermions in the Type-III seesaw extension of the Standard Model at the LHC/FCC and the muon collider. The displaced heavy fermions and the Higgs boson can be traced back by measuring the displaced charged tracks of the charged leptons along with the $b$-jets. A very small Yukawa coupling can lead to two successive displaced decays which makes the phenomenology even more interesting. The prospects of the transverse and longitudinal displaced decay lengths are extensively studied in the context…
We study the pair production of the long-lived mediator particles from the decay of the SM Higgs boson and their subsequent decay into standard model particles. We compute the projected sensitivity, both model-independently and with a minimal model, of using the muon spectrometer of the CMS detector at the HL-LHC experiment for ggF, VBF, and Vh production modes of the Higgs boson and various decay modes of the mediator particle, along with dedicated detectors for LLP searches like CODEX-b and MATHUSLA. Subsequently, we study the improvement with the FCC-hh detector at the 100\,TeV collider exp…
The relativistic corrections to the color-octet $J/ψ$ hadroproduction at the Tevatron and LHC are calculated up to $\mathcal{O}(v^2)$ in nonrelativistic QCD factorization frame. The short distance coefficients are obtained by matching full QCD with NRQCD results for the partonic subprocess $g+g\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+g$, $q+\bar{q}\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+g$ and $g+q({\bar{q}})\to J/ψ({}^1S_0^{[8]},{}^3S_1^{[8]}, {}^3P_J^{[8]})+q({\bar{q}})$. The short distance coefficient ratios of relativistic correction to leading order for color-octet …
Recently we have proved color octet NRQCD factorization of S-wave heavy quarkonium production at all orders in coupling constant at high energy colliders in Eur. Phys. J. C76 (2016) 448. In this paper we extend this to prove color octet NRQCD factorization of P-wave heavy quarkonium production at all orders in coupling constant at high energy colliders. We find that while the color octet NRQCD S-wave non-perturbative matrix element contains two gauge-links in the adjoint representation of SU(3), the color octet NRQCD P-wave non-perturbative matrix element contains four gauge-links in the funda…
