We study the excited muon production at the FCC based muon-hadron colliders. We give the excited muon decay widths and production cross section. We deal with the $μp\rightarrowμ^{\star}q\rightarrowμγq$ process and we plot the transverse momentum, rapidity and invariant mass distributions of final state particles to get the discovery cuts. By using discovery cuts, we get the mass limits for excited muons. It is shown that the discovery limits on the mass of $μ^{\star}$ are 2.2 TeV, 5.9 TeV and 7.5 TeV for $\mu63$-FCC, $\mu750$-FCC and $\mu1500$-FCC, respectively.
With an eye toward the precision physics of the LHC, FCC-ee and possible high energy muon colliders, we present the extension of the CEEX (coherent exclusive exponentiation) realization of the YFS approach to resummation in our KK MC to include the processes f\bar{f}\rightarrow f'\bar{f'}, f=μ,τ, q,ν_\ell, f'=e, μ,τ, q, ν_\ell, q=u,d,s,c,b,t, \ell =e,μ,τwith f \ne f'. After giving a brief summary of the CEEX theory with reference to the older EEX (exclusive exponentiation) theory, we illustrate theoretical results relevant to the LHC, FCC-ee, and possible muon collider physics programs.
At the future high luminosity electron-positron collider FCC-ee proposed for CERN, the precise measurement of the charge asymmetry in $e^+ e^- \to μ^+ μ^-$ near the Z resonance is of special interest. In particular, such a measurement at $M_Z \pm 3.5$ GeV may provide a very precise measurement of the electromagnetic coupling at the scale $\sim M_Z$, a fundamental constant of the Standard Model. However, this charge asymmetry is plagued by a large trivial contribution from the interference of photon emission from initial state electrons and final state muons. We address the question whether thi…
In this article, we explore the possibility of displaced Higgs production from the decays of the heavy fermions in the Type-III seesaw extension of the Standard Model at the LHC/FCC and the muon collider. The displaced heavy fermions and the Higgs boson can be traced back by measuring the displaced charged tracks of the charged leptons along with the $b$-jets. A very small Yukawa coupling can lead to two successive displaced decays which makes the phenomenology even more interesting. The prospects of the transverse and longitudinal displaced decay lengths are extensively studied in the context…
FCC-hh is a proposed future energy-frontier hadron collider, which goal is to provide high luminosity proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 100 TeV. The FCC-hh has an extremely rich physics program ranging from standard model (SM) measurements to direct searches for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). One of the processes sensitive to new physics is flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) that extremely rare in the SM but have enhanced behavior in several BSM scenarios. In this report we present results of projections of FCNC searches in top quark interactions to the FCC-hh con…
We investigate the resonant production of color octet muons in order to explore the discovery potential of the FCC-based μp colliders. It is shown that search potential of μp colliders essentially surpass potential of the LHC and would exceed that of FCC pp collider.
The forward proton detectors recently installed and operating at the LHC open the possibility to observe photon collisions with high precision, providing a novel window on physics beyond the Standard Model. We review recent simulations and theoretical developments about the measurement of anomalous $γγγγ$ and $Zγγγ$ interactions. The searches for these anomalous gauge interactions are expected to set bounds on a wide range of particles including generic electroweak particles, neutral particles with dimension-5 coupling to gauge bosons, polarizable dark particles, and are typically complementar…
Rare flavour-changing neutral-current transitions $b \to s μ^+ μ^-$ probe higher energy scales than what is directly accessible at the LHC. Therefore, the presence of new physics in such transitions, as suggested by the present-day LHCb anomalies, would have a major impact on the motivation and planning of future high-energy colliders. The two most prominent options currently debated are a proton-proton collider at 100 TeV (FCC-hh) and a multi-TeV muon collider (MuC). In this work, we compare the discovery prospects at these colliders on benchmark new physics models indirectly detectable in $b…
The electron-positron stage of the Future Circular Collider, FCC-ee, is a frontier factory for Higgs, top, electroweak, and flavour physics. It is designed to operate in a 100 km circular tunnel built at CERN, and will serve as the first step towards $\geq$ 100 TeV proton-proton collisions. In addition to an essential and unique Higgs program, it offers powerful opportunities to discover direct or indirect evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model. Direct searches for long-lived particles at FCC-ee could be particularly fertile in the high-luminosity $Z$ run, where $5\times 10^{12}$ $Z$ bo…
We study the pair production of the long-lived mediator particles from the decay of the SM Higgs boson and their subsequent decay into standard model particles. We compute the projected sensitivity, both model-independently and with a minimal model, of using the muon spectrometer of the CMS detector at the HL-LHC experiment for ggF, VBF, and Vh production modes of the Higgs boson and various decay modes of the mediator particle, along with dedicated detectors for LLP searches like CODEX-b and MATHUSLA. Subsequently, we study the improvement with the FCC-hh detector at the 100\,TeV collider exp…
We investigate the potential of the 100 TeV future circular collider (FCC-hh) to probe heavy neutrinos. We concentrate in particular on heavy neutrino production via a $U(1)_{B-L}$ $Z'$ gauge boson and contrast the resulting limits with that mediated by Standard Model weak currents. We consider heavy neutrino decays to semi-leptonic as well as fully leptonic final states, particularly with muon flavour, and we show the importance of considering searches both in prompt and displaced decays of the heavy neutrinos. For prompt final states, semi-leptonic modes are more promising due to smaller bac…
The Future Circular Collider (FCC-hh) is a proposed successor of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). FCC-hh would push both the energy and intensity frontiers of searches for new physics particles. In particular, due to higher energy and luminosity than at the LHC, at FCC-hh there would be produced around $\simeq\!30$ times larger amount of $B$ mesons and $\simeq 120$ times of $W$ bosons, which then may decay into feebly interacting particles. In this paper we demonstrate the potential of FCC-hh by studying its sensitivity to heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) with masses $m_{N}<m_{B}$. We consider var…
Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders (or dedicated muon ring) tangential to Future Circular Collider (FCC) will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. Luminosity values of FCC based ep, \mup, eA, \muA, \gammap and \gammaA colliders are estimated. Multi-TeV center of mass energy ep colliders based on the FCC and linear colliders (LC) are considered in detail. Parameters of upgraded versions of the FCC proton beam are determined to optimize luminosity of ele…
SUSY searches at the LHC as well as the 126 GeV Higgs boson indicate that superparticles, especially squarks and gluinos, are not so light as we expected. It is important to investigate SUSY searches which do not rely on the colored superparticles. As a clue for the investigation, we focus on the muon g-2 anomaly, which can be explained by the SUSY contributions if some of neutralinos, charginos, and sleptons are as light as of order 100 GeV. We propose the muon-(g-2)-motivated MSSM as a benchmark model, where squarks are decoupled but the superparticles corresponding to the muon g-2 are light…
Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders close to Future Circular Collider will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. In this paper we estimate main parameters of the FCC based ep and μp colliders.
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is a post-LHC project aiming at searches for physics beyond the SM in a new 80--100~km tunnel at CERN. Running in its first phase as a very-high-luminosity electron-positron collider (FCC-ee), it will provide unique possibilities for indirect searches of new phenomena through high-precision tests of the SM. In addition, by collecting tens of ab$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity in the range of center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$~=90--350~GeV, the FCC-ee also offers unique physics opportunities for precise measurements of QCD phenomena and of photon-photon collision…
Combining the multi-lepton searches at the LHC, we study the possibilities of accommodating the new data of muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies in the lepton-specific inert two-Higgs-doublet model. We take the heavy CP-even Higgs as the 125 GeV Higgs, and find the muon and electron $g-2$ anomalies can be explained simultaneously in the region of 5 GeV $< m_h<60$ GeV, 200 GeV $<m_A< 620$ GeV, 190 GeV $<m_{H^\pm}< 620$ GeV for appropriate Yukawa couplings between leptons and inert Higgs. Meanwhile, the model can give a better fit to the data of lepton universality in $τ$ decays than the SM. Furthe…
Collider searches for long-lived particles yield a promising avenue to probe the freeze-in production of Dark Matter via the decay of a parent particle. We analyze the prospects of probing the parameter space of Dark Matter freeze-in from the decay of neutral parent particles at the LHC and beyond, taking as a case study a freeze-in Dark Matter scenario via the Standard Model Higgs. We obtain the projected sensitivity of the proposed MATHUSLA surface detector (for MATHUSLA100 and MATHUSLA200 configurations) for long-lived particle searches to the freeze-in Dark Matter parameter space, and stud…
This paper presents the projections on the anomalous neutral triple gauge couplings ($aNTGC$) via $pp \rightarrow ZZ$ production in the 2$\ell$2$ν$ final state at a 100 TeV proton-proton collider, \verb"FCC-hh". %100 TeV center of mass energy of The realistic \verb"FCC-hh" detector environments and its effects taken into account in the analysis. The study is carried out in the mode where one Z boson decays into a pair of same-flavor, opposite-sign leptons (electrons or muons) and the other one decays to the two neutrinos. The new bounds on the charge-parity (CP)-conserving couplings $C_{\widet…
In the framework of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) we discuss the impact of the recent experimental information, especially from E821 Brookhaven experiment on $g_μ-2$ along with the light Higgs boson mass bound from LEP, to the Dark Matter direct searches. Imposing these experimental bounds, the maximum value of the spin-independent neutralino-nucleon cross section turns out to be of the order of $10^{-8}$ pb for large values of $\tanβ$ and low $M_{1/2}, m_0$. The effect of the recent experimental bounds is to decrease the maximum value of the cross section by ab…
The discovery potential of both singlet and doublet vector-like leptons (VLLs) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) as well as at the not-so-far future muon and electron machines is explored. The focus is on a single production channel for LHC direct searches while double production signatures are proposed for the leptonic colliders. A Deep Learning algorithm to determine the discovery (or exclusion) statistical significance at the LHC is employed. While doublet VLLs can be probed up to masses of 1 TeV, their singlet counterparts have very low cross sections and can hardly be tested beyond a few…
The physics program accessible in $e^+e^-$ collisions at the Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) is summarized. The FCC-ee aims at collecting multi-ab$^{-1}$ integrated luminosities in $e^+e^-$ at $\sqrt{s}$ = 90, 160, 240, and 350 GeV, yielding 10$^{12}$ Z bosons, 10$^{8}$ W$^+$W$^-$ pairs, 10$^{6}$ Higgs bosons and $4\cdot 10^{5}$ top-quark pairs per year. Such huge data samples combined with a $\cal{O}(100 \rm keV)$ c.m. energy uncertainty will allow for Standard Model measurements with unparalleled precision and searches for new physics in regions not probed so far. The FCC-ee will be able t…
The MACRO underground detector at Gran Sasso Laboratory recorded 60 million secondary cosmic ray muons from February 1989 until December 2000. Different techniques were used to analyze this sample in search for density excesses from astrophysical point-like sources. No evidence for DC excesses for any source in an all-sky survey is reported. In addition, searches for muon excess correlated with the known binary periods of Cygnus X-3 and Hercules X-1, and searches for statistically significant bursting episodes from known gamma ray sources are also proved negative.
We estimate the future sensitivity of the high luminosity (HL-) and high energy (HE-) modes of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and of a 100 TeV future circular collider (FCC-hh) to leptoquark (LQ) pair production in the muon-plus-jet decay mode of each LQ. Such LQs are motivated by the fact they provide an explanation for the neutral current $B-$anomalies. For each future collider, Standard Model (SM) backgrounds and detector effects are simulated. From these, sensitivities of each collider are found. Our measures of sensitivity are based upon a Run II ATLAS search, which we also use for valid…
Extensions of the Standard Model (SM) gauge group with a new $U(1)_X$ predict an additional gauge boson. Through kinetic mixing with the SM photons featured by a coupling $ε$, the ensuing so-called dark photons $γ'$, which acquire mass as a result of the breaking of the gauge group $U(1)_X$, can interact with the SM field content. These massive dark photons can therefore decay to pairs of leptons, hadrons, or quarks, depending on their mass $m_{γ'}$. In this work, we discuss searches for dark photons in the mass range around and below one GeV at the LHeC and FCC-he colliders. The signal is giv…
We study the interplay of natural supersymmetry and a supersymmetric solution to the discrepancy observed in measurements of the muon magnetic moment. The strongest constraints on the parameter space currently come from chargino searches in the trilepton channel and slepton searches in the dilepton channel at the LHC, and vast regions are currently allowed, especially at large $\tanβ$. With light top squarks in the spectrum, as required from naturalness arguments, the situation changes dramatically; stop-assisted chargino and neutralino production via $\tilde{t} \rightarrow b \tildeχ_{1}^{\pm}…
The Standard Model (SM) describes particle physics with great precision. However, it does not account for the generation of neutrino masses, whose nature we do not understand. Both a Dirac and a Majorana mass term could intervene, leading to the existence of heavy partners of the SM neutrinos, presumably more massive and nearly sterile. For suitable choices of parameters, heavy neutrinos can also provide dark matter candidates, and generate the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe. Heavy neutrinos can be searched for at beam dump facilities such as the proposed SHiP experiment if their ma…

Searches for new physics using muons are reviewed. Particular attention is paid to muon number non-conserving processes, like the decay muon-->e+gamma and muon-electron conversion in muonic atoms. Also, experimental determinations and theoretical predictions for the muon anomalous magnetic moment are reviewed.
We explore the sparticle mass spectra including LSP dark matter within the framework of supersymmetric $SU(4)_c \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R$ (422) models, taking into account the constraints from extensive LHC and cold dark matter searches. The soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters at $M_{GUT}$ can be non-universal, but consistent with the 422 symmetry. We identify a variety of coannihilation scenarios compatible with LSP dark matter, and study the implications for future supersymmetry searches and the ongoing muon g-2 experiment.
The study of muon properties and decays played a crucial role in the early years of particle physics and contributed over decades to build and consolidate the Standard Model. At present, searches for muon decays beyond the Standard Model are performed by exploiting intense beams of muons, and plans exist to upgrade the present facilities or build new ones, which would open new prospects for the quest of new physics in this sector. In this paper I review the present status of the search for muon decays beyond the Standard Model, with a special attention to the most conventional muon lepton flav…
Muon g-2 anomaly, which is mismatch between the theoretical and the experimental values of the anomalous magnetic moment of muons, provides a sensitive probe of new physics. In SUSY, if masses of the superpartners relevant to the muon g-2 are O(100) GeV, the SUSY contributions to the muon g-2 become sizable and the anomaly can be solved. There are two representative SUSY contributions to the muon g-2, the chargino and the neutralino contributions, respectively. Particularly, when the discrepancy of the muon g-2 is dominated by the neutralino contributions, it is found that the discrepancy can …
There is no guarantee that the violation of lepton number, assuming it exists, will primarily manifest itself in neutrinoless double beta decay ($0νββ$). Lepton-number violation and lepton-flavor violation may be related, and much-needed information regarding the physics that violates lepton number can be learned by exploring observables that violate lepton flavors other than electron flavor. One of the most promising observables is $μ^- \rightarrow e^+$ conversion, which can be explored by experiments that are specifically designed to search for $μ^- \rightarrow e^-$ conversion. We survey lep…
There is more than 3 sigma deviation between the experimental and theoretical results of the muon g-2. This suggests that some of the SUSY particles have a mass of order 100 GeV. We study searches for those particles at the LHC with particular attention to the muon g-2. In particular, the recent results on the searches for the non-colored SUSY particles are investigated in the parameter region where the muon g-2 is explained. The analysis is independent of details of the SUSY models. Future prospects of the collider searches are also discussed.
Searches for anomalous $Zt$ and $γt$ production provide an excellent probe of flavour-changing top interactions when the energies considered are very large. In this note we estimate the sensitivity to these interactions at the high luminosity phase of the LHC and a future 100 TeV $pp$ collider (FCC-hh). For the LHC, the expected limits on $t \to uZ / uγ$ branching ratios from $Zt$ and $γt$ production will reach the $10^{-5}$ level, one order of magnitude better than the existing projections for $t \to uZ$ from $t \bar t$ production. For the FCC-hh, the limits on $t \to uZ / uγ$ could reach an …
We study the phenomenology of a particular leptoquark extension of the Standard Model (SM), namely the doublet-singlet scalar leptoquark extension of the SM (DSL-SM). Besides generating Majorana mass for neutrinos, these leptoquarks contribute to muon and electron $(g-2)$ and various lepton flavour violating processes. Collider signatures of the benchmark points (BPs), consistent with the neutrino oscillation data, anomalous muon/electron magnetic moments, experimental bounds on the charged lepton flavour violation observables, etc., are studied at the LHC/FCC with centre-of-mass energies of 1…
Motivated by the recent supersymmetry (SUSY) search results which prefer most SUSY particles heavy, and muon g-2 anomaly which prefers colorless SUSY particles light, we explore the status of a light smuon (the SUSY partner of left-handed muon lepton) in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). Assuming colored SUSY particles be heavy, and considering numerous experimental constraints including muon g-2, SUSY searches, and dark matter, we scan the parameter space in the NMSSM with Z3-symmetry, checking the status of colorless SUSY particles and their possible mass order, and …
We investigate the sensitivity of future searches for the top-Higgs boson Flavour Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) couplings $tqh$~($q= u, c$) at the proposed High Energy Large Hadron Collider~(HE-LHC) and Future Circular Collider in hadron-hadron mode (FCC-hh). We perform a full simulation for two processes in the $h\to γγ$ decay channel (where $h$ is the discovered Higgs state): single top quark FCNC production in association with the Higgs boson (plus a jet) and top quark pair production with FCNC decays $t\to qh$. All the relevant backgrounds are considered in a cut based analysis to obtain…
We argue that in order to account for the muon anomalous magnetic moment $g-2$, dark matter and LHC data, non-universal gaugino masses $M_i$ at the high scale are required in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We also need a right-handed smuon $\tildeμ_R$ with a mass around 100 GeV, evading LHC searches due to the proximity of a neutralino $\tildeχ^0_1$ several GeV lighter which allows successful dark matter. We discuss such a scenario in the framework of an $SU(5)$ Grand Unified Theory (GUT) combined with $A_4$ family symmetry, where the three $\overline{5}$ re…
We investigate simplified models involving an inert scalar triplet and vector-like leptons that can account for the muon $g-2$ anomaly. These simplified scenarios are embedded in a model that features W' and Z' bosons, which are subject to stringent collider bounds. The constraints coming from the muon $g-2$ anomaly are put into perspective with collider bounds, as well as bounds coming from lepton flavor violation searches. The region of parameter space that explains the $g-2$ anomaly is shown to be within reach of lepton flavor violation probes and future colliders such as HL-LHC and HE-LHC.
A high-energy muon collider with center-of-mass energy around and above 10 TeV is also a vector boson fusion (VBF) machine, due to the significant virtual electroweak (EW) gauge boson content of high-energy muon beams. This feature, together with the clean environment, makes it an ideal collider to search for TeV-scale axion-like particles (ALP) coupling to Standard Model EW gauge bosons, which current and other future colliders have limited sensitivities to. We present detailed analyses of heavy ALP searches in both the VBF and associated production channels at a muon collider with different …
Recently proposed Future Circular Collider based muon-proton colliders will allow investigating lepton-hadron interactions at the highest center-of-mass energy. In this study, we investigate the potential of these colliders for a four-fermion contact interactions search. Regarding the constructive and destructive interferences of contact interactions, we estimated discovery, observation, and exclusion limits on the compositeness scale for the left-left, right-right, left-right, and right-left helicity structures. This study's findings show that the FCC-based μp colliders have great potential f…
We reanalyze the recent data from the Liquid Scintillator Neutrino Detector (LSND) experiment, that might indicate anti-nu_mu<--->anti-nu_e mixing. This indication is not completely excluded by the negative results of established accelerator and reactor neutrino oscillation searches. We quantify the region of compatibility by means of a thorough statistical analysis of all the available data, assuming both two-flavor and three-flavor neutrino oscillations. The implications for various theoretical scenarios and for future oscillation searches are studied. The relaxation of the LSND constraints …
We examine the utility of employing polarized lepton (electron and muon) beams to perform indirect searches for scalar leptoquarks. We find that polarization can extend the reach in excluding leptoquark masses for both $e^+e^-$ and $μ^+μ^-$ machines. Polarization can also provide a diagnostic tool for determining leptoquark couplings.
We comprehensively study all viable new-physics scenarios that resolve the muon $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly with only Standard Model singlet particles coupled to muons via renormalizable interactions. Since such models are only viable in the MeV -- TeV mass range and require sizable muon couplings, they predict abundant accelerator production through the same interaction that resolves the anomaly. We find that a combination of fixed-target (NA64$μ$, $M^3$), $B$-factory (BABAR, Belle II), and collider (LHC, muon collider) searches can cover nearly all viable singlets scenarios, independently of their dec…
The recently published result from the Fermilab "MUON G-2" experiment has confirmed the persistent 3-4 $σ$ discrepancy between the experimental result from BNL for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)_μ$ , and its Standard Model (SM) prediction. The combination of the two measurements yields a deviation of 4.2 $σ$ from the SM value. Here, we review the parameter space of the electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), that can accommodate the anomaly while being in full agreement with other experimental data, particularly the direct searches for EW…
Plots summarizing the constraints on Dark Matter models can help visualize synergies between different searches for the same kind of experiment, as well as between different experiments. In this whitepaper, we present an update to the European Strategy Briefing Book plots, from the perspective of collider searches within the Dark Matter at the Energy Frontier (EF10) Snowmass Topical Group, starting from inputs from future collider facilities. We take as a starting point the plots currently made for LHC searches using benchmark models recommended by the Dark Matter Working Group, also used for …
