We apply the second-order Israel-Stewart theory of relativistic fluid- and thermodynamics to a physically realistic model of a radiative fluid in a simple anisotropic cosmological background. We investigate the asymptotic future of the resulting cosmological model and review the role of the dissipative phenomena in the early Universe. We demonstrate that the transport properties of the fluid alone, if described appropriately, do not explain the presently observed accelerated expansion of the Universe. Also, we show that, in constrast to the mathematical fluid models widely used before, the radiative fluid does approach local thermal equilibrium at late times, although very slowly, due to the cosmological expansion.
We construct conformastat spherically symmetric spacetimes representing anisotropic fluid matter distributions from given solutions of the Poisson's equation of Newtonian gravity and its corresponding circular speed profile. As simple examples, we present three families of spherically symmetric spacetimes which we apply in constructing new models of relativistic anisotropic thick spherical shells, and of relativistic galaxy models composite by a central spherical bulge, the thick disk and the dark matter halo, writing in this case the metric in cylindrical coordinates. Moreover, the geodesic m…
Solution of Einstein Field Equations for Anisotropic Matter with Vanishing Complexity: Spacetime Metric Satisfying Karmarkar Condition and Conformally Flat Geometry
We present the reconstruction method of $f(R)$ gravity for the homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi-I spacetime, which was previously formulated only for homogeneous and isotropic FLRW spacetime. We argue in this paper that for anisotropic spacetimes, the total anisotropy behaves as an independent metric degree of freedom on top of the average scale factor in $f(R)$ gravity. This is not like $GR$, where specifying the form of the average scale factor as a function of time also specify the total anisotropy as a function of time uniqely. We link this peculiar fact to an interesting intertwining b…
We suggest the universe is Finslerian in the stage of inflation. The Finslerian background spacetime breaks rotational symmetry and induces parity violation. The primordial power spectrum is given for quantum fluctuation of the inflation field. It depends not only on the magnitude of wavenumber but also on the preferred direction. We derive the gravitational field equations in the perturbed Finslerian background spacetime, and obtain a conserved quantity outside the Hubble horizon. The angular correlation coefficients are presented in our anisotropic inflation model. The parity violation featu…
We investigate the necessary conditions for the two spacetimes, which are solutions to the Einstein field equations with an anisotropic matter source, to be related to each other by means of a conformal transformation. As a result, we obtain that if one of such spacetimes is a generalization of the Robertson-Walker solution with vanishing acceleration and vorticity, then the other one has to be in this class as well, i.e. the conformal factor will be a constant function on the hypersurfaces orthogonal to the fluid flow lines. The evolution equation for this function appears naturally as a dire…
A new class of solution describing an anisotropic stellar configuration satisfying Karmarkar's condition i.e. spherically symmetric metric of embedding class 1, is reported. It has been shown that the compact star model is physically well-behaved and meet all the physical requirements for a stable configuration in hydrostatic equilibrium. Our model describes compact stars like Vela X-1 and 4U1608-52 to a very good approximation.
The charged anisotropic star on paraboloidal spacetime is reported by choosing particular form of radial pressure and electric field intensity. The non-singular solution of Einstein-Maxwell system of equation have been derived and it is shown that model satisfy all the physical plausibility conditions. It is observed that in the absence of electric field intensity, model reduces to particular case of uncharged Sharma \& Ratanpal model. It is also observed that the parameter used in electric field intensity directly effects the mass of the star.
A double new class of solutions to the general relativity field equations describing interior spacetimes sourced by stationary cylindrical anisotropic fluids with principal stress directed along the symmetry axis is displayed. These solutions are required to satisfy regularity and junction conditions so that they can be possibly used to represent rotating astrophysical objects. Mathematical and physical properties are analyzed. The spacetime two independent parameters are physically interpreted, and they are shown to define two different solution classes together with stating the latters' prop…
In the present study we have proposed a new model of an anisotropic compact star which admits the Chaplygin equation of state. For this purpose, we consider Buchdahl ansatz. We obtain the solution of proposed model in closed form which is non-singular, regular and well-behaved. In addition to this, we show that the model satisfies all the energy conditions and maintains the hydrostatic equilibrium equation. This model represents compact stars like PSR B0943+10, Her X-1 and SAX J1808.4-3658 to a very good approximate.
A new class of exact solutions of Einstein's field equations representing anisotropic distribution of matter on pseudo-spheroidal spacetime is obtained. The parameters appearing in the model are restricted through physical requirements of the model. It is found that the models given in the present work is compatible with observational data of a wide variety of compact objects like 4U 1820-30, PSR J1903+327, 4U 1608-52, Vela X-1, PSR J1614-2230, SMC X-4, Cen X-3. A particular model of pulsar PSR J1614-2230 is studied in detail and found that it satisfies all physical requirements needed for phy…
Study the behaviour and the evolution of the cosmological field equations in an homogeneous and anisotropic spacetime with two scalar fields coupled in the kinetic term. Specifically, the kinetic energy for the scalar field Lagrangian is that of the Chiral model and defines a two-dimensional maximally symmetric space with negative curvature. For the background space we assume the locally rotational spacetime which describes the Bianchi I, the Bianchi III and the Kantowski-Sachs anisotropic spaces. We work on the $H$% -normalization and we investigate the stationary points and their stability. …
We elaborate on the cosmological implications of the recently established non-perturbative $O(D,D$)-symmetric approach. Following the $α'$-complete Friedmann equations, we provide a qualitative description of the dynamics of anisotropy perturbations. We find that the spacetime stability depends on the sign of the generalized dilaton time derivative. We consider isotropic limits and find possible mechanism for pre-big bang cosmology, governed by the value of cosmological constant.
We study the geometry of a wormhole spacetime filled with anisotropic matter in the context of general relativity. In the course of the study, new static and spherically symmetric solutions, analytic and numerical ones, are found. We specify the existence condition for a wormhole throat. We analyze properties of the solutions after categorizing them based on the spacetime regularity and the signature of energy density. The necessary conditions which allow a wormhole spacetime to be nonsingular are described.
The behavior of spin - 1/2 - particles in anisotropic Bianchi type I backgrounds is investigated utilizing the concept of differential forms and orthonormal frames. Specializing to the massless case and power law scale factors $α_j(t) = t^{q_j}$ of the metric where $q_1 = q_2 $, an analytical outcome for the time evolution operator in terms of Bessel functions is presented.
We study spherically symmetric geometries made of anisotropic perfect fluid based on general relativity. The purpose of the work is to find and classify black hole solutions in closed spacetime. In a general setting, we find that a static and closed space exists only when the radial pressure is negative but its size is smaller than the density. The Einstein equation is eventually casted into a first order autonomous equation on two-dimensional plane of scale-invariant variables, which are equivalent to the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation in general relativity. Then, we display variou…
We study anisotropic inflationary solutions in massive Gauge-flation. We work with the theory in both the Stueckelberg and dynamical symmetry-breaking limits and demonstrate that extended periods of accelerated anisotropic expansion are possible. In the case of dynamical symmetry breaking, we show that spacetime can transition from isotropic quasi-de Sitter space to an accelerating Bianchi spacetime due to a rolling Higgs field - the spacetime can develop hair. Similarly, symmetry restoring transitions are possible from accelerating Bianchi spacetime to quasi-de Sitter space - the spacetime ca…
Dense nuclear matter is expected to be anisotropic due to effects such as solidification, superfluidity, strong magnetic fields, hyperons, pion-condesation. Therefore an anisotropic neutron star core seems more realistic than an ideally isotropic one. We model anisotropic neutron stars working in the Krori-Barua (KB) ansatz without preassuming an equation of state. We show that the physics of general KB solutions is encapsulated in the compactness. Imposing physical and stability requirements yields a maximum allowed compactness $2GM/Rc^2 < 0.71$ for a KB-spacetime. We further input observatio…
We study the asymptotic dynamics of $f(T, B)$-theory in an anisotropic Bianchi III background geometry. We show that an attractor always exists for the field equations, which depends on a free parameter provided by the specific $f(T, B)$ functional form. The attractor is an accelerated spatially flat FLRW or non-accelerated LRS Bianchi III geometry. Consequently, the $f(T, B)$-theory provides a spatially flat and isotropic accelerated Universe.
We present here a detailed analysis on the effects of charge on the anisotropic strange star candidates by considering a spherically symmetric interior spacetime metric. To obtain exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations we have considered the anisotropic strange quark matter (SQM) distribution governed by the simplified MIT bag equation of state (EOS), $p=\frac{1}{3}\left( ρ-4\,B \right)$, where $B$ is the bag constant and the distribution of the electrical charge is given as $q(r)=Q\left({r}/{R}\right)^3=α{r^3}$, where $α$ is a constant. To this end, to calculate different cons…
To reproduce the observed spectra and light curves originated in the neighborhood of compact objects requires accurate relativistic ray-tracing codes. In this work, we present Skylight, a new numerical code for general-relativistic ray tracing and radiative transfer in arbitrary space-time geometries and coordinate systems. The code is capable of producing images, spectra, and light curves from astrophysical models of compact objects as seen by distant observers. We incorporate two different schemes, namely Monte Carlo radiative transfer, integrating geodesics from the astrophysical region to …
