In this paper we study slant null curves with respect to the original parameter on 3-dimensional normal almost contact B-metric manifolds with parallel Reeb vector field. We prove that for non-geodesic such curves there exists a unique Frenet frame for which the original parameter is distinguished. Moreover, we obtain a necessary condition this Frenet frame to be a Cartan Frenet frame with respect to the original parameter. Examples of the considered curves are constructed.
In this paper, we define the notion of eikonal helix and eikonal slant helix for null curves in the 4-dimensional Lorentzian manifold M 1 4 and give a characterization for the null curve to be the null eikonal helix. Moreover, we indicate an important relation between the null eikonal helix and null eikonal slant helix and find the axis of the null eikonal helix. We obtain some relationships between the curvatures of these curves.
We introduce the notion of $k$-type slant helix in Minkowski space $\e_1^4$. For partially null and pseudo null curves in $\e_1^4$, we express some characterizations in terms of their curvature and torsion functions.
In this study, we define some new types of non-null ruled surfaces called slant ruled surfaces in the Minkowski 3-space E_1^3. We introduce some characterizations for a non-null ruled surface to be a slant ruled surface in E_1^3. Moreover, we obtain some corollaries which give the relationships between a non-null slant ruled surface and its striction line in E_1^3.
We introduce a new type of slant curves in almost contact B-metric manifolds, called $φ$-slant curves, by an additional condition which is specific for these manifolds. In this paper we study $φ$-slant null curves in a class of 3-dimensional normal almost contact B-metric manifolds and prove that for non-geodesic of them there exists a unique Frenet frame for which the original parameter is distinguished. We investigate some of $φ$-slant null curves and with respect to the associated B-metric on the manifold and find relationships between the corresponding Frenet frames and curvatures. We cons…
Object of study in the present paper are slant and Legendre null curves in 3-dimensional Sasaki-like almost contact B-metric manifolds. For the examined curves we express the general Frenet frame and the Frenet frame for which the original parameter is distinguished, as well as the corresponding curvatures, in terms of the structure on the manifold. We prove that the curvatures of a framed null slant and Legendre curve are constants if and only if a specific function for the considered manifolds is a constant. We find a necessary and sufficient condition a slant null curve to be a generalized …
The presented paper is devoted to study the curvature and torsion of slant Frenet curves in 3-dimensional normal almost paracontact metric manifolds. Moreover, in this class of manifolds, properties of non- Frenet slant curves (with null tangents or null normals) are obtained. The achieved results are illustrated by examples.
Akyol M.A. [Conformal anti-invariant submersions from cosymplectic manifolds, Hacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistic, 46(2), (2017), 177-192.] defined and studied conformal anti-invariant submersions from cosymplectic manifolds. The aim of the present paper is to define and study the notion of conformal slant submersions (it means the Reeb vector field $ξ$ is a vertical vector field) from almost contact metric manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of Riemannian submersions, horizontally conformal submersions, slant submersions and conformal anti-invariant submersions.…
In this study, we give definitions and characterizations of eikonal slant helices, eikonal Darboux helices and non-normed eikonal Darboux helices in 3-dimensional pseudo- Riemannian manifold M . We show that every eikonal slant helix is also an eikonal Darboux helix for timelike and spacelike curves. Furthermore, we obtain that if the non-null curve a is a non-normed eikonal Darboux helix, then a is an eikonal slant helix if and only if 2 2 e 3k +e1t = constant, where k and t are curvature and torsion of a, respectively. Finally, we define null-eikonal helices, slant helices and Darboux helice…
Let $(\mathbb{M}_{1}^{2},g)$ be a Minkowski surface and $(T_1\mathbb{M}_1^2, g_1)$ its unit tangent bundle endowed with the pseudo-Riemannian induced Sasaki metric. We extend in this paper the study of the N-Legendre and N-slant curves which the inner product of normal vector and Reeb vector is zero and nonzero constant respectively in $\left( T_1 \mathbb{M}_1^2, g_1 \right)$, given in \cite{hmy}, to the Minkowski context and several important characterizations of these curves are given.\newline
In this paper, we investigate the tangent indicatrix of the curve C with constant curvature. Tangent indicatrix of the curve C is characterized with det(C^(3),C^(4),C^(5))=0 in Minkowski 3-space E13. Moreover, we study null slant helices using the determinant approach and give the following characterization: A curve C is a null slant helix in E13 if and only if det(C^(3),C^(4),C^(5))=0. Then similar results are obtained for non-null curves with the condition k=1.
The main topic of this paper is to show that in the 3-dimensional Minkowski spacetime, the torsion of a null curve is equal to the Schwarzian derivative of a certain function appearing in a description of the curve. As applications, we obtain descriptions of the slant helices, and null curves for which the torsion is of the form $τ=-2λs$, $s$ being the pseudo-arc parameter and $λ=\mathop{\rm constant}\not=0$.
We introduce the concept of $\varepsilon\,$-contact metric structures on oriented (pseudo-)Riemannian three-manifolds, which encompasses the usual Riemannian contact metric, Lorentzian contact metric and para-contact metric structures, but which also allows the possibility for the Reeb vector field to be null. We investigate in more detail this latter case, which we call null contact structure. We observe that it is possible to extend in a natural and meaningful way both the Sasaki and K-contact conditions for null-contact structures, but we find that they are not equivalent conditions, in con…
We introduce the notion of $\varepsilonη\,$-Einstein $\varepsilon\,$-contact metric three-manifold, which includes as particular cases $η\,$-Einstein Riemannian and Lorentzian (para) contact metric three-manifolds, but which in addition allows for the Reeb vector field to be null. We prove that the product of an $\varepsilonη\,$-Einstein Lorentzian $\varepsilon\,$-contact metric three-manifold with an $\varepsilonη\,$-Einstein Riemannian contact metric three-manifold carries a bi-parametric family of Ricci-flat Lorentzian metric-compatible connections with isotropic, totally skew-symmetric, cl…
The paper is a complete study of paracontact metric manifolds for which the Reeb vector field of the underlying contact structure satisfies a nullity condition (the condition \eqref{paranullity} below, for some real numbers $% \tildeκ$ and $\tildeμ$). This class of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds, which includes para-Sasakian manifolds, was recently defined in \cite{MOTE}. In this paper we show in fact that there is a kind of duality between those manifolds and contact metric $(κ,μ)$-spaces. In particular, we prove that, under some natural assumption, any such paracontact metric manifold admits a …
We regard a contact metric manifold whose Reeb vector field belongs to the $(κ,μ)$-nullity distribution as a bi-Legendrian manifold and we study its canonical bi-Legendrian structure. Then we characterize contact metric $(κ,μ)$-spaces in terms of a canonical connection which can be naturally defined on them.
We study almost bi-paracontact structures on contact manifolds. We prove that if an almost bi-paracontact structure is defined on a contact manifold $(M,η)$, then under some natural assumptions of integrability, $M$ carries two transverse bi-Legendrian structures. Conversely, if two transverse bi-Legendrian structures are defined on a contact manifold, then $M$ admits an almost bi-paracontact structure. We define a canonical connection on an almost bi-paracontact manifold and we study its curvature properties, which resemble those of the Obata connection of an anti-hypercomplex (or complex-pro…
