The $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$ states recently discovered at LHCb have masses close to several relevant thresholds, which suggests they can be described in terms of meson-baryon degrees of freedom. This article explores the phenomenology of these states, and their possible partners, from this point of view. Competing models can be distinguished by the masses of the neutral partners which have yet to be observed, and the existence or otherwise of further partners with different isospin, spin, and parity. Future experimental studies in different decay channels can also discriminate among models, using selection rules and algebraic relations among decays. Among the several possible meson-baryon pairs which could be important, one implies that the states are mixtures of isospins 1/2 and 3/2, with characteristic signatures in production and decay. A previous experimental study of a Cabibbo-suppressed decay showed no evidence for the states, and further analysis is required to establish the significance of this non-observation. Several intriguing similarities suggest that $P_c(4450)^+$ is related to the $X(3872)$ meson.
We consider a particular composite Higgs model which contains SU(3) color octet top partners besides the usually considered triplet representations. Moreover, color singlet top partners are present as well which can in principle serve as dark matter candidates. We investigate the LHC phenomenology of these unusual top partners. Some of these states could be confused with gluinos predicted in supersymmetric models at first glance.
Composite Higgs models with a fermionic UV completion can contain additional colored states beside the usual top-partners. We focus here on a model which contains in addition SU(3) color octet top partners as well as color singlet ones. The latter can in principle serve as a dark matter candidate. We consider a particular composite Higgs model which contains SU(3) color octet top partners besides the usually considered triplet representations. Colored dark sectors where the dark matter particle is accompanied by colored partners have recently attracted theoretical and phenomenological interest. We explore the possibility that the dark sector consists of the dark matter particle and a color-octet partner, where the interaction with the Standard Model is governed by an effective operator involving gluons. The resulting interactions resemble the color analogues of electric and magnetic dipole moments. Although many phenomenological features of this kind of model only depend on the group representation of the partner under SU(3)$_c$, we…
The assumption of a new symmetry provides a nice explanation of the existence of dark matter and an elegant way to avoid the electroweak constraints. This symmetry often requires the pair production of new particles at colliders and it guarantees that cascade decays down to the lightest particle give rise to missing energy plus jets and leptons. For a long time, supersymmetry with the conserved R-parity was the only candidate for such signals. However, any new physics with this type of new symmetry may show up with similar signals and the discrimination between different models at the LHC is q…
Cai, Cheng, and Terning suggested a model in which the left-handed top quark is identified with a gaugino of an extended gauge group, and its superpartner is a spin-1 particle. We perform a phenomenological analysis of this model, with a focus on the spin-1 top partner, which we dub the "swan". We find that precision electroweak fits, together with direct searches for $Z^\prime$ bosons at the LHC, place a lower bound of at least about 4.5 TeV on the swan mass. An even stronger bound, 10 TeV or above, applies in most of the parameter space, mainly due to the fact that the swan is typically pred…
We provide a systematic effective lagrangian description of the phenomenology of the lightest top-partners in composite Higgs models. Our construction is based on symmetry, on selection rules and on plausible dynamical assumptions. The structure of the resulting simplified models depends on the quantum numbers of the lightest top partner and of the operators involved in the generation of the top Yukawa. In all cases the phenomenology is conveniently described by a small number of parameters, and the results of experimental searches are readily interpreted as a test of naturalness. We recast pr…
We investigate a linear sigma model with global chiral $U(2)_{R} \times U(2)_{L}$ symmetry. The mesonic degrees of freedom are the standard scalar and pseudoscalar mesons and the vector and axial-vector mesons. The baryonic degrees of freedom are the nucleon, $N$, and its chiral partner, $N^{*}$, which is usually identified with N(1535). The chiral partner is incorporated in the so-called mirror assignment, where the nucleon mass is not solely generated by the chiral condensate but also by a chirally invariant mass term, $m_{0}$. The presence of (axial-) vector fields modifies the expressions …
We consider a class of little Higgs theories with T-parity where ALL new particles responsible for canceling the standard model contributions to the one-loop quadratic divergences in the Higgs potential are odd under T-parity, including the heavy top partner which was previously taken to be T-even. The new construction significantly simplifies the spectrum in the top sector and completely changes the phenomenology of the top partner. At hadron colliders the signals of this class of T-invariant models appear to be even more similar to supersymmetry. We initiate a study on the collider phenomeno…
We have analysed the observable consequences of the interactions of spin-1 resonances coupled to the invariant fermionic currents that arise in an $SO(5)$ Composite Higgs set-up. The phenomenology entailed by such interactions is thoroughly analysed by studying heavy vector resonances production and decay modes in the viable resonance mass range. Additionally, the production of double and single-composite fermion final states has been scanned along the fermion mass scale. Such production is mediated by the SM gauge and Higgs interactions, and also by charged and neutral vector resonances. The …
In a previous work, a classically scale invariant extension of the standard model was proposed, as a potential candidate for resolving the hierarchy problem, by minimally introducing a complex gauge singlet scalar, and generating radiative electroweak symmetry breaking by means of the Coleman- Weinberg Mechanism. Postulating the singlet sector to respect the CP-symmetry, the existence of a stable pseudoscalar dark matter candidate with a mass in the TeV range was demonstrated. More- over, the model predicted the presence of another physical CP-even Higgs boson (with suppressed tree-level coupl…
Light top partners are the prime sign of naturalness in composite Higgs models. We explore here the possibility of non-standard top partner phenomenology. We show that even in the simplest extension of the minimal composite Higgs model, featuring an extra singlet pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson, the branching ratios of the top partners into standard channels can be significantly altered, with no substantial change in the generated Higgs potential. Together with the variety of possible final states from the decay of the pseudo-scalar singlet, this motivates more extensive analyses in the search fo…
The Little Flavor model is a close cousin of the Little Higgs theory which aims to generate flavor structure around TeV scale. While the original Little Flavor only included the quark sector, here we build the lepton part of the Little Flavor model and explore its phenomenology. The model produces the neutrino mixing matrix and Majorana masses of the Standard Model neutrinos through coupling to heavy lepton partners and Little Higgses. We combine the usual right-handed seesaw mechanism with global symmetry protection to suppress the Standard Model neutrino masses, and identify the TeV partners…
Relatively light Top Partners are unmistakable signatures of reasonably Natural Composite Higgs models and as such they are worth searching for at the LHC. Their phenomenology is characterized by a certain amount of model-dependence, which makes the interpretation of Top Partner experimental searches not completely straightforward especially if one is willing to take also single production into account. We describe a model-independent strategy by which the interpretation is provided on the parameter space of a Simplified Model that captures the relevant features of all the explicit constructio…
We review scenarios of physics beyond the Standard Model in which the top quark plays a special role. Models that aim at the stabilization of the weak scale are presented together with the specific phenomenology of partner states that are characteristic of this type of model. Further, we present models of flavor in which the top quark is singled out as a special flavor among the SM ones. The flavor and collider phenomenology of these models is broadly presented. Finally, we discuss the possibility that dark matter interacts preferably with the top quark flavor and broadly present the dark matt…
Little Higgs models often give rise to top partners beyond the minimal ones necessary for the cancellation of quadratic divergences. We review how this occurs and discuss the phenomenology of these exotic states. We emphasize the possible importance of new pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons in top partner decays. Indeed, cascade decays of exotic top partners may be the best way to discover these new bosons. We illustrate these points with a new Little Higgs construction based on an SO(10)/SO(5)^2 coset structure, which fills a gap in the model building literature. These observations motivate new se…
We consider the phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider of new heavy vector-like quarks which couple mainly to the third generation quarks via Yukawa interactions, with special emphasis on non-standard doublet representations which are less constrained from present data. We also discuss in detail the flavour limits at tree level and loop level and implications of a generalised CKM mixing matrix to these cases.
The top/bottom seesaw model, which extends the top seesaw in order to accomodate a 125 GeV Higgs boson, predicts vector-like top/bottom partners and these partners can be bounded to form several neutral and charged singlet composite scalars by some new strong dynamics. In this letter, we use such a singlet scalar to interpret the 750 GeV diphoton reseanance. This singlet scalar is dominantly produced through the gluon fusion process induced by the partners and its diphoton decay is induced by both the partners and the charged singlet scalars. We show that this scenario can readily account for …
We examine several assignments of spin and parity for the pentaquark Theta+ state (J^P=1/2^{+,-}, 3/2^{+,-}) in connection with known baryon resonances. Assuming that the Theta+ belongs to an antidecuplet representation which mixes with an octet, we calculate the mass spectra of the flavor partners of the Theta+ based on the SU(3) symmetry. The decay widths of the Theta+ and nucleon partners are analyzed for the consistency check of the mixing angle obtained from the masses. It is found that a suitable choice of the mixing angle successfully reproduces the observed masses of Theta(1540) and Xi…
Based on recent LHC Higgs analyses and in anticipation of future results we revisit theories where Higgs bosons can couple to weak gauge bosons with enhanced strength relative to the Standard Model value. Specifically, we look at the Georgi-Machacek model and its generalizations where higher "spin" representations of SU(2)_L break electroweak symmetry while maintaining custodial SU(2). In these theories, there is not only a Higgs-like boson but partner Higgs scalars transforming under representations of custodial SU(2), leading to a rich phenomenology. These theories serve as a consistent theo…
In scenarios that stabilize the electroweak scale, the top quark is typically accompanied by partner particles. In this work, we demonstrate how extended stabilizing symmetries can yield scalar or fermionic top partners that transform as ordinary color triplets but carry exotic electric charges. We refer to these scenarios as "hypertwisted" since they involve modifications to hypercharge in the top sector. As proofs of principle, we construct two hypertwisted scenarios: a supersymmetric construction with spin-0 top partners, and a composite Higgs construction with spin-1/2 top partners. In bot…
If one takes naturalness seriously and also assumes a weakly coupled extension of the Standard Model (SM) then there are predictions for phenomenology that can be inferred in a model independent framework. The first such prediction is that there must be some colored particle with mass O(TeV) that cancels the top loop contribution to the quadratic divergence of the Higgs mass. In this paper we begin a model independent analysis of the phenomenology of this "top partner," t'. We make one additional assumption that it is odd under a parity which is responsible for the stability of a WIMP dark mat…
LHC searches for fermionic top partners $T$ focus on three decay topologies: $T\to bW$, $T\to tZ$, and $T\to th$. However, top partners may carry new conserved quantum numbers that forbid these decays. The simplest possibility is a conserved parity, under which the top partner is odd and all SM states are even. In this case, decays of top partners may involve new particle-odd scalars, leading to signal topologies more commonly associated with supersymmetry, either with or without R-parity conservation. We study a simplified model in which this possibility is realized, and estimate the bounds o…
A new mechanism for hard diffraction based on the anomalous $f_1$ trajectory exchange, which we identify as the odd signature partner of the Pomeron, is suggested. We calculate the contribution of the $f_1$ exchange to elastic and dissociative electromagnetic production of vector mesons and show that it gives a dominant contribution to the differential cross sections at large momentum transfers.
Continuum supersymmetry is a class of models in which the supersymmetric partners together with part of the standard model come from a conformal sector, broken in the IR near the TeV scale. Such models not only open new doors for addressing the problems of the standard model, but also have unique signatures at hadron colliders, which might explain why we have not yet seen any superpartners at the LHC. Here we use gauge-gravity duality to model the conformal sector, generate collider simulations, and finally analyze continuum gluino signatures at the LHC. Due to the increase in the number of je…
We investigate the phenomenology of a simplified model with a Majorana fermion as dark matter candidate which interacts with Standard Model quarks via a colour-charged coannihilation partner. Recently it has been realized that non-perturbative dynamics, including the Sommerfeld effect, bound state formation/dissociation and thermal corrections, play an important role in coannihilations with coloured mediators. This calls for a careful analysis of thermal freeze-out and a new look at the experimental signatures expected for a thermal relic. We employ a state of the art calculation of the relic …
Extensions of the MSSM often predict the existence of new fermions and their scalar superpartners which are vectorlike with respect to the standard model gauge group but may be chiral under additional gauge factors. In this paper we explore the production and decay of an important example, i.e., a heavy isosinglet charge -1/3 quark and its scalar partner, using the charge assignments of a 27-plet of E6 for illustration. We emphasize that, depending on the symmetries of the low energy theory, such exotic particles may decay by the mixing of the fermion with the d, s, or b quarks; may decay by l…
We examine the phenomenology of the scalar fields in weak and Higgs sectors of minimal $R$-symmetric models, in particular the 'swino' and 'sbino', the scalar partners to the chiral fields that marry the electroweak gauge bosons in Dirac gaugino models. These fields are in adjoint representations of $SU(2)$ and $U(1)$ and have both $CP$-even and $CP$-odd components. The interactions of these new states are summarized, and decay widths are computed analytically to one loop order. We discuss the tree level contributions of these new states to the mass spectrum of MSSM sfermions. We also explore …
In this lecture, starting with GUT we go through the field theoretic and stringy orbifold compactification of extra dimensions toward their application to low energy particle physics.
Recent measurements of inclusive deep inelastic scattering differential cross-section in the range 1.5 \gev2\le Q^2\le 30000 \gev2 and 5\cdot 10^{-6}\le x\le 0.65 are presented. Phenomenological analyses performed from these measurements are also described.
In this article, we study the pseudoscalar bound state $η_c'f_0(980)$ (irrespective of the hadro-charmonium and the molecular state) with the QCD sum rules. Considering the SU(3) symmetry of the light flavor quarks and the heavy quark symmetry, we also study the bound states $η_c'σ(400-1200)$, $η_b'''f_0(980)$ and $η_b'''σ(400-1200)$, and make reasonable predictions for their masses.
We propose a generation dependent lepton/baryon gauge symmetry, $U(1)_{B_3 - x_μL_μ- x_τL_τ} \equiv U(1)_X$ (with $x_μ+ x_τ=1$ for anomaly cancellation), as a possible solution for the $b \rightarrow s μ^+ μ^-$ anomalies. By introducing two Higgs doublet fields, we can reproduce the observed CKM matrix, and generate flavor changing $Z'$ interactions in the quark sector. Thus one can explain observed anomalies in $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay with the lepton non-universal $U(1)_X$ charge assignments. We show the minimal setup explaining $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ anomalies, neutrino masses and mix…
We study the phenomenology of new heavy vector-like fermions that couple to the third generation quarks via Yukawa interactions, covering all the allowed representations under the standard model gauge groups. We first review tree and loop level bounds on these states. We then discuss tree level decays and loop-induced decays to photon or gluon plus top. The main decays at tree level are to W b and/or Z and Higgs plus top via the new Yukawa couplings. The radiative loop decays turn out to be quite close to the naive estimate: in all cases, in the allowed perturbative parameter space, the branch…
We study an attractive scenario, "Sleptonic SUSY", which reconciles the $125$ GeV Higgs scalar and the non-observation of superpartners thus far with potentially pivotal roles for slepton phenomenology: providing viable ongoing targets for LHC discovery, incorporating a co-annihilation partner for detectable thermal relic dark matter, and capable of mediating the potential muon $g-2$ anomaly. This is accomplished by a modestly hierarchical spectrum, with sub-TeV sleptons and electroweakinos and with multi-TeV masses for the other new states. We study new elements in the UV MSSM realization of …
We calculate masses and decays of the (lightest) hybrid nonet with exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ and the nonet of their chiral partners with $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$ in the framework of the extended Linear Sigma Model (eLSM). As an input, we identify $π_{1}^{hyb}=π_{1}(1600)$ as a low-lying hybrid. We investigated interaction terms which fulfil chiral symmetry. For what concerns $π_{1}^{hyb},$ the most important decays are $π_{1}^{hyb}\rightarrow b_{1}π,$ $π_{1}(1600)\rightarrowρπη,$ $π_{1}^{hyb}% \rightarrowρπ,$ and $π_{1}^{hyb}\rightarrow KK^{\ast}(892).$ The decays $π_{1}^{hyb}\rightarrowηπ…
We present theories of `Natural Neutrinos' in which neutral fermionic top partner fields are simultaneously the right-handed neutrinos (RHN), linking seemingly disparate aspects of the Standard Model structure: a) The RHN top partners are responsible for the observed small neutrino masses, b) They help ameliorate the tuning in the weak scale and address the little hierarchy problem, and c) The factor of $3$ arising from $N_c$ in the top-loop Higgs mass corrections is countered by a factor $3$ from the number of vector-like generations of RHN. The RHN top partners may arise in pseudo-Nambu-Gold…
We study phenomenological consequences of the Standard Model extension by the new spin-1 fields with the internal quantum numbers of the electroweak Higgs doublets. We show, that there are at least three different classes of theories, all motivated by the hierarchy problem, which predict appearance of such vector weak-doublets not far from the weak scale. The common feature for all the models is the existence of an SU(3) gauge extension of the weak SU(2) group, which is broken down to the latter at some energy scale around TeV. The Higgs doublet then emerges as either a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone …
We present a new class of unified SO(10) models where the GUT symmetry breaking down to the standard model gauge group involves just one scale, in contrast to the conventional SO(10) models which require two scales. Further, the models we discuss possess a natural doublet-triplet splitting via the missing partner mechanism without fine tuning. Such models involve $560+\ov{560}$ pair of heavy Higgs fields along with a set of light fields. The $560+\ov{560}$ are the simplest representations of SO(10) besides the $126+\ov{126}$ which contain an excess of color triplets over $SU(2)_L$ doublets. We…
While little Higgs models provide an interesting way to address the hierarchy problem, concrete models in the literature typically face two major obstacles. First, the mechanism for generating a Higgs quartic coupling often leads to large violations of custodial symmetry. Second, there is a tension between precision electroweak observables in the gauge sector and fine-tuning in the top sector. In this work, we present a new little Higgs model which solves both of these problems. The model is based on an SO(6)xSO(6)/SO(6) coset space which has custodial symmetry built in. The Higgs quartic coup…

We give an explicit example of a composite Higgs model with a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone Higgs in which the top Yukawa coupling is generated via the partial compositeness mechanism. This mechanism requires composite top partners which are relatively light compared to the typical mass scale of the strongly coupled theory. While most studies of the phenomenology of such models have focused on a bottom-up approach with a minimal effective theory, a top-down approach suggests that that the theory should contain a limit in which an unbroken global chiral symmetry protects the mass of the top partners, …
Little Higgs models offer an interesting approach to weakly coupled electroweak symmetry breaking without fine tuning. The original little Higgs models were plagued by strong constraints from electroweak precision data which required a fine tuning to be reintroduced. An economical solution to this problem is to introduce a discrete symmetry (analogous to R-parity of SUSY) called T-parity. T-parity not only eliminates most constraints from electroweak precision data, but it also leads to a promising dark matter candidate. In this paper we investigate the dark matter candidate in the littlest Hi…
We analyze two minimal supersymmetric constrained models with low-energy vector-like matter preserving gauge coupling unification. In one we add to the MSSM spectrum a pair of 5-plets of SU(5), in the other a pair of 10-plets. We show that the muon g-2 anomaly can be explained in these models while retaining perturbativity up to the unification scale, satisfying electroweak and flavor precision tests and current LHC data. We examine also some related phenomenological features of the models, including Higgs mass, fine-tuning, dark matter and several LHC signatures. We stress that, at least for …
One of the great attractions of minimal super-unified supersymmetric models is the prediction of a massive, stable, weakly interacting particle (the lightest supersymmetric partner, LSP) which can have the right relic abundance to be a cold dark matter candidate. In this paper we investigate the identity, mass, and properties of the LSP after requiring gauge coupling unification, proper electroweak symmetry breaking, and numerous phenomenological constraints. We then discuss the prospects for detecting the LSP from (1) LSP annihilations into positrons, anti-protons, and gamma rays in the galac…
We discuss the impact of the determination of the nucleon tensor charge on searches for physics Beyond the Standard Model. We also comment on the future extraction of the subleading-twist PDF $e(x)$ from Jefferson Lab soon-to-be-released Beam Spin Asymmetry data as well as from the expected data of CLAS12, as the latter is related to the scalar charge. These analyses are possible through the phenomenology of Dihadron Fragmentation Functions related processes, which we report on here as well.
We study in some detail the spectral phenomenology of models in which supersymmetry is dynamically broken and transmitted to the supersymmetric partners of the quarks, leptons and gauge bosons, and the Higgs bosons themselves, via the usual gauge interactions. We elucidate the parameter space of what we consider to be the minimal model, and explore the regions which give rise to consistent radiative electroweak symmetry breaking. We include the weak-scale threshold corrections, and show how they considerably reduce the scale dependence of the results. We examine the sensitivity of our results …
We analyze a recently proposed extension of the Standard Model based on the SU(4) x SU(2)_L x U(1)_X gauge group, in which baryon number is interpreted as the fourth color and dark matter emerges as a neutral partner of the ordinary quarks under SU(4). We show that under well-motivated minimal flavor-violating assumptions the particle spectrum contains a heavy dark matter candidate which is dominantly the partner of the right-handed top quark. Assuming a standard cosmology, the correct thermal relic density through freeze-out is obtained for dark matter masses around 2 - 3 TeV. We examine the …
In this article we consider theta-expanded noncommutative gauge field theory, constructed at the first order in noncommutative parameter theta, as an effective, anomaly free theory, with one-loop renormalizable gauge sector. Related phenomenology with emphasis on the standard model forbidden decays, is discussed. Experimental possibilities of Z -> gamma gamma decay are analyzed and a firm bound to the scale of the noncommutativity parameter is set around few TeV's.
In this work we will extend the inert-doublet model (IDM) by adding a new $U(1)_{F}$ gauge symmetry to it, under which, a $Z_{2}$ even scalar ($ϕ_{2}$) and $Z_{2}$ odd right handed component of two exotic charged leptons $(F_{eR},\ F_{μR})$, are charged. We also add one $Z_{2}$ even real scalar ($ϕ_{1}$) and one complex scalar ($ϕ$), three neutral Majorana right handed fermions ($N_{1},\ N_{2},\ N_{3}$), two left handed components of the exotic charged leptons $(F_{eL},\ F_{μL})$ as well as $F_τ$ are all odd under the $Z_{2}$, all of which are not charged under the $U(1)_{F}$. With these new p…
We consider the solution of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in Euclidean metric for a qbar-q vector meson in the circumstance where the dressed quark propagators have time-like complex conjugate mass poles. This approximates features encountered in recent QCD modeling via the Dyson-Schwinger equations; the absence of real mass poles simulates quark confinement. The analytic continuation in the total momentum necessary to reach the mass shell for a meson sufficiently heavier than 1 GeV leads to the quark poles being within the integration domain for two variables in the standard approach. Through F…
We propose the minimal, lepton-number conserving, SU(3)xSU(2)xU(1) gauge-singlet, or phantom, extension of the Standard Model. The extension is natural in the sense that all couplings are of O(1) or forbidden due to a phantom sector global U(1)_D symmetry, and basically imitates the standard Majorana see-saw mechanism. Spontaneous breaking of the U(1)_D symmetry triggers consistent electroweak gauge symmetry breaking only if it occurs at a scale compatible with small Dirac neutrino masses and baryogenesis through Dirac leptogenesis. Dirac leptogenesis proceeds through the usual out-of-equilibr…
We discuss some aspects of dark matter phenomenology, in particular related to Direct detection and collider searches, of models in which a fermionic Dark Matter interacts with SM fermions through spin 1 mediators. Contrary to conventional simplified models we will consider fixed assignments of the couplings of the ($Z^{'}$) mediator, according theoretically motivated embeddings. This allows to predict signals at future experimental facilities which can be used to test and possibly discriminate different realizations.
A series of recent reports suggest that the decay rates of several isotopes may have been influenced by solar activity (perhaps by solar neutrinos). A mechanism in which neutrinos or antineutrinos can influence the decay process suggests that a sample of decaying nuclei emitting neutrinos could affect its own rate of decay. Past experiments have searched for this 'self-induced decay' (SID) effect by measuring deviations from the expected decay rate for highly active samples of varying geometries. Here, we show that the SID effect closely resembles the behavior of rate-related losses due to dea…
Invoked by the recent observation of $Y(4390)$ at BESIII, which is about 40 MeV below the $D^*(2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ threshold, we investigate possible bound and resonance states from the $D^*(2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ interaction with the one-boson-exchange model in a quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach. A bound state with quantum number $0^-(1^{--})$ is produced at 4384 MeV from the $D^ (2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ interaction, which can be related to experimentally observed $Y(4390)$. Another state with quantum number $1^+(1^{+})$ is also produced at $4461+i39$ MeV from this interaction. …
In the past year, a new non-supersymmetric framework for electroweak symmetry breaking (with or without Higgs) involving SU(2)_L * SU(2)_R * U(1)_{B-L} in higher dimensional warped geometry has been suggested. In this work, we embed this gauge structure into a GUT such as SO(10) or Pati-Salam. We showed recently (in hep-ph/0403143) that in a warped GUT, a stable Kaluza-Klein fermion can arise as a consequence of imposing proton stability. Here, we specify a complete realistic model where this particle is a weakly interacting right-handed neutrino, and present a detailed study of this new dark …
A well-motivated framework to naturally introduce neutrino masses is the B-L model, a U(1) extension of the standard model related to the baryon minus lepton gauged number. Besides three right-handed neutrinos, that are included to cancel the anomalies (thereby naturally providing neutrino masses), this model also encompasses a complex scalar for the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the extended gauge sector and to give mass to the Z' boson. We present the phenomenology, the discovery potential at the LHC, and the most up-to-date experimental and theoretical limits of the new particles in this…
Can supersymmetric models with a moderate stop mass be made consistent with the negative Higgs boson searches at LEP, while keeping perturbative unification manifest? The NMSSM achieves this rather easily, but only if extra matter multiplets filling complete SU(5) representations are present at intermediate energies. As a concrete example which makes use of this feature, we give an analytic description of the phenomenology of a constrained NMSSM close to a Peccei-Quinn symmetry point. The related pseudo-Goldstone boson appears in decays of the Higgs bosons and possibly of the lightest neutrali…
