We develop an analytic perturbation theory for eigenvalues with finite multiplicities, embedded into the essential spectrum of a self-adjoint operator $H$. We assume the existence of another self-adjoint operator $A$ for which the family $H_θ= e^{\mathrm{i}θA} H e^{-\mathrm{i}θA}$ extends analytically from the real line to a strip in the complex plane. Assuming a Mourre estimate holds for $\mathrm{i}[H,A]$ in the vicinity of the eigenvalue, we prove that the essential spectrum is locally deformed away from the eigenvalue, leaving it isolated and thus permitting an application of Kato's analytic perturbation theory.
A regular spectral triple is proposed for a two-dimensional $κ$-deformation. It is based on the naturally associated affine group $G$, a smooth subalgebra of $C^*(G)$, and an operator $\caD$ defined by two derivations on this subalgebra. While $\caD$ has metric dimension two, the spectral dimension of the triple is one. This bypasses an obstruction described in \cite{IochMassSchu11a} on existence of finitely-summable spectral triples for a compactified $κ$-deformation.
We investigate the connection between singular Weyl-Titchmarsh-Kodaira theory and the double commutation method for one-dimensional Dirac operators. In particular, we compute the singular Weyl function of the commuted operator in terms of the data from the original operator. These results are then applied to radial Dirac operators in order to show that the singular Weyl function of such an operator belongs to a generalized Nevanlinna class $N_{κ_0}$ with $κ_0=\lfloor|κ| + \frac{1}{2}\rfloor$, where $κ\in \mathbb{R}$ is the corresponding angular momentum.
In this paper, we propose a new procedure to deform spectral triples and their quantum isometry groups. The deformation data are a spectral triple $(\mathcal A,\mathcal H, D)$, a compact quantum group $\mathbb G$ acting algebraically and by orientation-preserving isometries on $(\mathcal A,\mathcal H,D)$ and a unitary fiber functor $ψ$ on $\mathbb G$. The deformation procedure is a genuine generalization of the cocycle deformation of Goswami and Joardar.
The aim of the paper is to answer the following question: does $κ$-deformation fit into the framework of noncommutative geometry in the sense of spectral triples? Using a compactification of time, we get a discrete version of $κ$-Minkowski deformation via $C^*$-algebras of groups. The dynamical system of the underlying groups (including some Baumslag--Solitar groups) is used in order to construct \emph{finitely summable} spectral triples. This allows to bypass an obstruction to finite-summability appearing when using the common regular representation.
It is proved that the (volume and orientation-preserving) quantum isometry group of a spectral triple obtained by deformation by some dual unitary 2-cocycle is isomorphic with a similar twist-deformation of the quantum isometry group of the original (undeformed) spectral triple. This result generalizes similar work by Bhowmick and Goswami for Rieffel-deformed spectral triples in [Comm. Math. Phys. 285 (2009), 421-444, arXiv:0707.2648].
We find an explicit closed formula for the $k$'th iterated commutator $\mathrm{ad}_A^k(H_V(ξ))$ of arbitrary order $k\ge1$ between a Hamiltonian $H_V(ξ)=M_{ω_ξ}+S_{\check V}$ and a conjugate operator $A=\frac{\mathfrak{i}}{2}(v_ξ\cdot\nabla+\nabla\cdot v_ξ)$, where $M_{ω_ξ}$ is the operator of multiplication with the real analytic function $ω_ξ$ which depends real analytically on the parameter $ξ$, and the operator $S_{\check V}$ is the operator of convolution with the (sufficiently nice) function $\check V$, and $v_ξ$ is some vector field determined by $ω_ξ$. Under certain assumptions, which …
We start from applying the general idea of spectral projection (suggested by Olshanski and Borodin and advocated by Tao) to the complex Wishart model. Combining the ideas of spectral projection with the insights from quantum mechanics we derive in an effortless way all spectral properties of the complex Wishart model: first, the Marcenko-Pastur distribution interpreted as a Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization condition for the hydrogen atom; second, hard (Bessel), soft (Airy) and bulk (sine) microscopic kernels from properly rescaled radial Schrödinger equation for the hydrogen atom. Then, generalizi…
Deformations of the canonical spectral triples over the n-dimensional torus are considered. These deformations have a discrete dimension spectrum consisting of non-integer values less than n. The differential algebra corresponding to these spectral triples is studied. No junk forms appear for non-vanishing deformation parameter. The action of a scalar field in these spaces is considered, leading to non-trivial extra structure compared to the integer dimensional cases, which does not involve a loss of covariance. One-loop contributions are computed leading to finite results for non-vanishing de…
The non-holonomic deformations of non-local integrable systems belonging to the Nonlinear Schrodinger family are studied using the Bi-Hamiltonian formalism as well as the Lax pair method. The non-local equations are first obtained by symmetry reductions of the variables in the corresponding local systems. The bi-Hamiltonian structures of these equations are explicitly derived. The bi-Hamiltonian structures are used to obtain the non-holonomic deformation following the Kupershmidt ansatz. Further, the same deformation is studied using the Lax pair approach and several properties of the deformat…
We study the general form of M"obius covariant local commutation relations in conformal chiral quantum field theories and show that they are intrinsically determined up to structure constants, which are subject to an infinite system of constraints. The deformation theory of these commutators is controlled by a cohomology complex, whose cochain spaces consist of linear maps that are subject to a complicated symmetry property, a generalization of the anti-symmetry of the Lie algebra case.
We develop a self-consistent approach to study the spectral properties of a class of quantum mechanical operators by using the knowledge about monodromies of $2\times 2$ linear systems (Riemann-Hilbert correspondence). Our technique applies to a variety of problems, though in this paper we only analyse in detail two examples. First we review the case of the (modified) Mathieu operator, which corresponds to a certain linear system on the sphere and makes contact with the Painlevé $\mathrm{III}_3$ equation. Then we extend the analysis to the 2-particle elliptic Calogero-Moser operator, which cor…
This article consisted of an elementary introduction to deformation theory of varieties, schemes and manifolds, with some applications to local and global shtukas and fever to Newton polygons of $p$-divisible groups . Soft problems and results mainly are considered. In the framework we give review of some novel results in the theory of local shtukas, Anderson-modules, global shtukas, Newton polygons of $p$-divisible groups and on deformations of $p$-divisible groups with given Newton polygons.
